• James (8/5): Great Location! - GardenSong is in a great location! We were able to walk to places we wished to visit in the downtown area. Self check-in worked well. My only issue involves food/drink. A message from GardenSong indicated "Southern Breakfast Included." A second message indicated "Help yourself to a complimentary beverage in your room upon your arrival - cereals and yogurts are available as well." However, we did not notice any food or beverage in the room fridge. I still would recommend this place! I just wish the food service was explained better.
• Deborah (8/5): - I prefer properties whose have staff present at all times. Though lost key was no one’s fault, still it was inconvenient. However response to the problem was very prompt! Coffeemaker exploded, malfunction reported to morning staff.
• Verified traveler (10/5): Girls trip - There were 3 of us on a girls trip so we stayed in the Clark Gable suite - it was perfect! We all had plenty of room to spread out, store our stuff and have fun. The house itself is lovely and we felt at home there. The staff was so friendly and helpful. We loved the downtown location and everything was within walking distance. There was even a sweet little kitty cat, named Rusty, that greeted us each day! We absolutely loved our stay!

• James (10/5): - My wife and I booked this on a last-minute anniversary getaway and it was wonderful. We stayed in the Nat King Cole Suite. The parking in front of the house was really convenient. The emailed instructions made "check-in" smooth (code for the front door & keys were in the door for the room we reserved.) It was about 20 degrees outside so we didn't do much walking or spend much time on the private balcony, but the room had an electric heater which kept us plenty warm. The king bed was super comfortable. Plenty of local and fast food options within a 5 mile radius. The only negative was the limited channels on the TV. It says "satellite" tv, but it was pretty basic. Networks and a few other random channels. But if you're picking this place for the TV, then you're missing the point. It was a great, quiet, relaxing room that we plan to return to (and maybe book the Clark Gable room next door for the kids).

We sat on the balcony in the evening and enjoyed the sound of the fountain and enjoyed rocking and talking on the front porch, in the garden, and playing the piano. We walked all over Natchez. It was a great time of year for coming! There was a situation with the bathroom when we first arrived that was quickly resolved and staff was very accommodating and friendly. The bed was comfortable. The only issue we would have is that we prefer a room to be very cool for sleeping and the a/c didn’t seem to be keeping up. It got kinda hot. Over all it is a lovey little guest house on a quiet street within a nice walking distance of many things- perfect for just relaxing and moseying around.
• Tabitha (4/5): Just don’t do it. - There was a phone number to call at check in and when I arrived at 3:15 pm and called there was no answer. I never received a call back. There were portable cups of cereal for breakfast in the bathroom area and roaches in the house. The town was nice but a stay isn’t recommended.

• Verified traveler (6/5): Beautiful, except for wasps and water leaks - Beautiful, historic house located in walking distance to the downtown area. However, after we got in the Clark Gable Suite, we had to kill a couple of wasps, which we think came in through gaps around the window AC unit. Not a huge deal, but the kids were wary to sleep in that room. Also, in the main room, as we were about to turn in for the night, water began to drip from the ceiling then poured down the wall briefly before stopping thankfully. It was probably something to do with the room upstairs, but still unsettling. Other than that and a minor leak in the bathroom sink, the room was nice enough and we enjoyed staying in a historical home.

• Ronald (4/5): A Disappointing Stay - Let me begin by stating that both the house and the room we stayed in were lovely. Our experience at Garden Song B&B was very disappointing. There were many options available to us in Natchez, but we booked our room (through Hotels.com) specifically because it was small, and it included breakfast which we feel is safer during this time of COVID. This was a non-refundable rate of $165 per night. We immediately received an email back stating, “Please remember that our discounted rates do not include breakfast.” According to the Natchez B&B Association, Garden Song rates are $135-$165 per night. I emailed Dan, the proprietor back and had no response. The next morning, I called and left a message and received no response. We didn’t care about a big breakfast but wanted to avoid having to go out to get it. Since we had paid upfront, we felt we had no choice but to check-in. Part of the B&B experience is to be able to gain local information from the proprietor. We never saw a single person the entire time we were there. We did, however, hear from a dog, that we assume was crated somewhere in the house the first night. The poor animal howled and whimpered until 2:30 in the morning, keeping us awake. We recognize that these are extraordinary times we are living in, requiring flexibility. We do feel a bare minimum requirement when booking a room is the ability to communicate directly with the proprietor.

The house was in wonderful condition and a pleasure to stay in. Katie the cook catered to dietary requirements at breakfast. All in all, a fabulous place highly recommended.

Ms Cathy served us a fabulous breakfast each day with the most amazing grits I have ever had! I’m so glad my best friend and I chose Garden Song for our weekend getaway. We will definitely be back!

• LP55 (10/5): - Great location, beautiful room / suite (Nat King Cole) on first floor. Located on the most charming street of Natchez, this B&B was a real treat: spacious, well-appointed room, with fire place and a grand bathroom; good breakfast, coffee, tea and wine at all times ready in the garden room, and luscious gardens front and back. So happy we could spend two nights here and enjoy Natchez by car and on foot - GardenSong is close to downtown, the riverfront, and within short driving distances from some major sites such as Longwood and the City Cemetery. Really enjoyed being here!
• olivia (10/5): Can’t go wrong with Garden song! Olivia & Mike - This was an incredible experience! My husband and I went for our 1st Anniversary. Dan, was above and beyond accommodating, and very informative of the history of house. Chef Kevin was such a pleasure to talk to, and makes the worlds best grits and sweet potato biscuits. The Gardner, Robert, was very knowledgeable on history of so many homes, and places in the area. We will always go back to the Garden Song! If you have any knee , or back issues, stay on 1st floor suite. The stairs are magnificent, but steep at the same time. Great food, great people, Natchez will be a new destination for our family. We’re from New Orleans, so we know good food and people! I’ve stayed in numerous B&B’s , and between Dan’s piano playing and his welcoming disposition, look no further than Garden Song!
• Sian (10/5): - We stayed in the Mayor’s House. It is a lovely old property with plenty of space and the softest bed linens! It’s a perfect base for exploring Natchez and ideal for families.
• Sid (4/5): - Disappointed. We had envelope in the basket next to the door telling us how to enter and to what room we should go. We entered an empty dark house and made our way up steep stairs to our room in the attic. the room did not have a comfortable chair and the bed was sloped. The bed footboard stuck out and we stumped our toes several times. The wallpaper was stained and pulling away in places. The only person we saw that worked there was the gentleman who fixed our breakfast. The breakfast was just OK.

And the bathroom was huge with every convenience. And there were wonderful choices for breakfast - the chef is super nice and super talented at his job. We did not get to meet the owner (I think he was away for the night) but he left very nice instructions for us to make ourselves at home and enjoy his home and gardens, including his wine. And the gardens! - worthy of a spread in Southern Living - peaceful and serene, as is the whole street. Love this place!

• Robert (10/5): Gardensong is great! - Natchez is a beautiful town full of antebellum homes in wonderful condition. Gardensong is one of these homes which includes a beautiful sculpted garden. The owner, Dan, is very friendly and especially accommodating. He is a musician who treated us to several songs accompanying himself on a beautiful grand piano. He shared several stories about the history of Natchez and his home. Our room was beautiful and especially comfortable. The breakfast and Ruth were a real treat. This is the place to stay in Natchez.

• Ken (10/5): Nice Antebellum House in heart of Natchez - We pulled up to B & B with a ton of parking. A welcome packet with our name on it was just outside the front door. Piano music could be heard as we approached the front door. Just inside was a baby grand piano played by an accomplished friend of the owner. Our room was on the 2nd floor so getting luggage up the stairway was a little difficult but not too bad. Key was in the door and the room was just as advertised. Two bedrooms since our daughter and grandaughter were with us. Nice view of beautiful garden was outside one of the bedrooms. Bed was extremely comfortable. The next morning when we went downstairs coffee and juice was awaiting us. We met Kevin who was the breakfast chef. Extremely friendly he made us a wonderful southern breakfast. The owner Dan checked on us and asked if we would like him to play a song on the piano. He was incredible. Also very friendly. We stayed for 3 days. It was nice to come back to a quiet residence after days of sightseeing, eating and shopping. A small refrigerator was available with wine, soft drinks and water for guests. There is a large front porch.to sit outside and enjoy the ambiance of antebellum Natchez. I would highly recommend GardenSong. It is comfortable and has the best owner and staff in Natchez.
• Joan (10/5): The Mayor's House - Great location - Easy to find. The access code to the front door was great. Loved the foyer/hallway. Spacious bedrooms. The beds were extremely comfortable. Lots of closet space in each bedroom. The dining room was large, and the kitchen was well stocked. Loved the Keurig coffee maker. Three full baths were nice because my party consisted of 6 women. The location was great. We walked to several places. The walk to GardenSong was so nice. Our weather was perfect too, a little cool which made walking and taking in the azales blooming perfect!

• Ritesh (10/5): Best B&B experience - We stayed in Mayor's House for one night. This is about two blocks from Gardensong B&B. The reviews for this B&B are all excellent for a reason. Dan is an awesome host. The property is beautiful and if you haven't experienced the historic Natchez yet, you owe it to yourself. Natchez was the wealthiest city in the whole country before civil war and most of it stayed undestroyed in the war. Several of the antebellum houses have been restored to full glory and provide you an opportunity to witness history frozen in time. The people are friendly and laid back. There are nice food options around the city (we recommend Rolling River Bistro). With the Mayor's House, you get the whole house to yourself. It is huge, nicely decorated, equipped with interesting books, board games, fire pit and sitting area in the backyard, full kitchen (pots and pans, silverware, dinner sets, Keurig), stocked fridge (water, soda, wine, coffee creamer), and has comfortable beds for 7 people (Dan would provide air mattresses for extra guests). There were also lot of channels on TV and internet worked (a bit slow though). The property also allows pets so we didn't have to board my daughter's little dog. This is everything we needed for a wonderful stay with a friend family. We walked to GardenSong for breakfast in the morning and the chef (Kevin) provided fast and excellent service.

Natchez is a beautiful place, and visitors are welcome. The city smells good, and the GardenSong proprietor helped me see that it was due to the Sweet Olive Trees. The Cole Porter Suite is spacious. This Bed and Breakfast is part of a fine American experience, as fine as any for enthusiasts of history.
