Guest Reviews
- ariel (6/5): - No kitchen untensils
- Mickey (6/5): - My stay was ok, too noisy to leave the windows open and felt stuffy. Only stayed 2 nights and cancelled my 3rd night and they still kept the 3rd night pay and didn’t refund the money. I won’t be staying there again and I won’t recommend anyone else to stay there either.
- Henry (9/5): -
- Guest (9/5): Nice stay - the history of the place Bed was hard as a rock
- Nancy (10/5): - It is a little rustic hotel. But, that was what I was looking for in a stay. It was very clean and would recommend!
- Dawna (10/5): -

- Guest (10/5): - Free coffee it was very clean and well painted inside not a luxury place but clean. No complaints for price
- Myers (10/5): I would definitely stay there again - It’s a simple hotel, but it had everything that I needed and it was nice that there was a table in the room. It was a very bright room with big windows. When I had issues with the cable, the front desk man was so nice and got it back on track for me. And because it’s in a good location, I was able to easily walk some places and it was an easy drive to the spit
- John (10/5): - Property is old and dated. If your not to picky this is a great place it is always clean and everything works.
- Julie (4/5): It was an ok place to sleep. - The bed was comfortable. Location was ok. Old, run down building and rooms. Room was very small. No extra lock on the door. No cleaning service for 2 day stay (there was only 1 very small trash can in the room and I would’ve been happy to just get that emptied).
- Mert (6/5): Pleasant - Location was cliose to spit Too much sun. Rooms to hot during day. Tired interior
- Mariusz (6/5): - For 1-2 nights if you spend time only for sleep
- Chaitanya (6/5): Pleasant -
- Gregory (6/5): - Convenient easy access. Dated. Only 1 washer and dryer. Also, not allowed to start a wash after 7 pm or before 7 am meaning you have to do laundry during the day when on vacation? I think not.
- Clifford (4/5): Disappointing - smelled like smoke outdated for price
- Kathleen (9/5): Superb -
- Anonymous (5/5): Passable - Location was good
Staff was friendly Bed was not comfortable.
- Tiffanie (8/5): - Nothing extra special about the property. It fit our needs.
- Anonymous (9/5): Superb -
- Anonymous (7/5): This Inn had what we were looking for: Cleanliness, Comfort, & Convenience at a reasonable price. - Breakfast was not offered (other than coffee in the lobby) but was close to restaurants you could walk to like the "Cabin" place just a parking lot away, or driving to Mike's Subs (my favorite) also close by!
We were a short drive to Anchor Point, which was our location for our early morning boat launch across the bay to view bears along Lake Clark National Preserve.
And, an easy drive to The Spit. The rustic, common area had a refrigerator, microwave, Ice, laundry facilities and a large table - and nothing else, no paper towels, & no plates/ utensils of any kind. Not even a plate of cookies!
- Vikki (9/5): Practical and clean - Location was great as long as you're not looking for a view. Staff was very helpful and pleasant.
Price was reasonable. Facility, while very clean, is somewhat dated. There was a communal coffee stand in lobby, but it would have been nicer in room. The TV was also lacking. The sound was terrible, but it was definitely not a deal breaker.
- Kevin (8/5): - Older property but clean and convenient
- Deidre (10/5): - My only complaint is that the walls are either very thin, or my neighbors were yelling all night, but our stay was wonderful. The staff was very welcoming and made sure I had everything I needed. Checkin and checkout were a breeze. Water pressure and temperature was amazing after a rainy day!
Also I had wild bunnies outside my window which is honestly an automatic 5 stars for me. Would stay again for sure!
- Anonymous (8/5): It was a good night's rest and a much needed hot shower. - The guy at the front desk was helpful. The bar/band next door. I guess i should have just gone over and partied with the crowd.
There was not a lot of parking.
- John (7/5): Early to Bed, early to rise.. - Convenient Small
- Anonymous (5/5): Okay - It was very clean. Room decore looked old and tired, but met our budget. Amenities were lacking. Pictures & furniture were lacking. No cups in the room. Lobby coffee was horrible.
- Helen (10/5): - .
- BLAKE (8/5): - We really enjoyed our stay.
- Jerry (6/5): - This is not a good place for limited mobility.
- Sharilyn D (6/5): - Pretty expensive outdated motel with paper thin walls. Curtains that are old & let in all the light and Hard mattresses. It’s a big NO for me
- Jochimsen (9/5): Superb -
- Michael (5/5): Not my favorite place. - The staff were pleasant. The room was clean upon arrival. The hotel policy was that staff could not enter the room during an entire stay. This means no making the bed, no emptying the trash, no clean towels, no vacuuming in a beach focused area. For 1 night, a good place to stay. For longer stays find a place focused on the customer.
- Nicholette (10/5): - Historic looking hotel with a small town feel. Rooms were very clean and beds were comfy. We had a view of the mountains. It was a lovely stay.
- Hagai (8/5): Very good place at great value - The hotel is an older building with very nice display of the history, which adds to its character. We found the rooms clean and updated. The staff was very friendly and provided an excellent dinner recommendation. Because it is an older building there is no elevator. Plan on going up or down one flight of stairs, with your luaggage.
- Irene (8/5): - Room was clean, bed was comfy. Good spot for overnight stay.
- Martin (10/5): Great stuff. - Good position away from the Spit.
- Fox (10/5): conveyance - Close to fishing no place to put the fish we caught
- Tracy (8/5): - Clean room, comfortable beds, nice place for an adventure
- Lawrence (8/5): Very good -
- Paul (8/5): - Looks “vintage” but very clean room with good shower. Don’t pay $300 someplace else to just lay down for 8 hours. Nice kid at chech-in.
- Anonymous (8/5): Great for what I needed - Close to everything Stairs
- Nicole (6/5): - It was outdated but fairly clean. No ac so we opened the window.
- Cynthia (8/5): - We asked for a ground level room that hopefully would be quiet. The room was perfect. Nothing fancy, but we knew we would be there basically just to sleep (there is so much to do and see in Homer). We like to have morning coffee in our room, but there was no in-room coffee maker. However, the coffee in the lobby was very good, and we could make mocha if we wanted to with the chocolate packets provided. Nicely centrally located in Homer.
- Howard (7/5): Good -
- John (6/5): Move on, nothing to see. - It was ok. Good location but something was off. Lots of empty rooms and yet they had all of us lumped together. I had to call for assistance due to the people in the next room having a heated argument. They had been going at it all evening. They woke me up from a sound sleep. I feared for the woman’s safety. They quieted down after a warning from the night manager. We won’t be back to that location. There was too much light through the curtains and it was impossible to make the room dark. The sun sets at 11:45 pm!
- Anonymous (8/5): Very good - Historical aspects of the property. Location.
- Steven (10/5): Exceptional - Great location, restaurants in walking distance ,short drive to Homer Spit
- Danny (10/5): Exceptional -
- Robert (10/5): Great place to stay just one block off the Main Road. - This Hotel is just one block off the main road and that made it very quiet. For a building over 70 years old it was remodeled and was very up to date. The beds were comfortable, and the pillows were very nice. So nice I fell asleep minutes after my head hit them. The restaurant next door has a great breakfast and is a locals place. Very friendly and great service. I wish I could have stayed longer but my ferry ride back to Kodiak wouldn't wait for me.
- Dan (6/5): Pleasant -
- Karen (9/5): Superb -
- Peter (8/5): Very good -
- Julie (8/5): We would stay again! - Walking distance to restaurants and bars. Friendly staff. Although an old hotel the rooms were clean and comfortable.
- Cheryl (9/5): Very nice room at a reasonable rate! - The room was newly redecorated. It was clean and comfortable. The editor looks rough but don’t let it fool you.
- Suzanne (10/5): - The bathroom could use a garbage can. Black out curtains were too small for the window so it stayed bright in the room most of the night. The room and bathroom and bed were crispy clean though. I would recommend because of the reasonable price and cleanliness.
- Kelly (8/5): Work just fine for our needs. - Location Price
- Chinmayi (7/5): Good -
- Dawn (8/5): Very good - Ice machine wasn’t working. The rest was great!
- Craig (10/5): - Great place and clean
- Bill (7/5): Good - Friendly staff
- Acoba (7/5): Good -
- Aaron (6/5): Was Ok - The room was good enough but wouldn't want to stay too long
- Ronald (2/5): Very poor - Beds noisy and uncomfortable. Doors sticking.
- Thomas (10/5): Exceptional -
- joan (4/5): - Very basic room, functional, like a dormitory. I couldn't believe that a hair dryer was not provided. Women don't fly with hair dryers, and it's standard and expected that they are provided in hotel rooms. Also, a coffee maker in the room would have been nice, especially since there is no elevator and we had to walk up 2 1/2 flights to get to lobby to get coffee (with soaking wet hair).
- David (6/5): - Older rooms and buildings. No cleaning services had to use towels for 3 days
- Dianne (8/5): - Room was very clean and comfortable. Front staff was excellent, friendly and efficient.
- Bernard (4/5): Very tight fit for 4 adults. - We left early to fish before any breakfast was available.. Hard to fit 4 grown adults in a double bed and an uncomfortable double futon. 2 of the 4 slept on the floor in sleeping bags
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Quaint, older building. Room was comfortable, quiet and smelled clean and fresh. Staff was very friendly.
- Allison (7/5): Good - Convenient location and very clean for an older bldg. Liked the 24 hr tea/ coffee available in lobby. Room was a little smaller than expected. Needed a trash can in the bathroom, only 1 in the room.
- Heidi (8/5): Affordable and clean accommodation - Good location and value. The bathrooms were updated and super clean. The building still has some old hotel charm. We thought it was a good option in Homer. The curtains could be larger or block more light.
- Stacie (6/5): - The only coffee available was in the main lobby. There was no ice available at all. The hotel was very noisy and no fan or anything available to cover the noise.
Staff was very pleasant.
- Kelch (7/5): Good -
- Alexa (8/5): - Clean and well managed. It would be perfect if the curtains blocked out the light. We were happy with our stay regardless.
- Gary and Sandra (4/5): - I was fine till friday morning then i got accused of smoking in the room. while i was sleeping. I had my windows open and could smell cig. Smoke coming in from the bars and resteraunts so because i got accused i got kicked out and am being charged 350.00 extra. THIS IS BS i will never stay there again or tell anyone to stay there im very up set and feel you were in the wrong im refusing to pay another 350.00 i will fight it and thanks to you i had to sleep in my car friday night
- Jeffrey (5/5): ok - outside rough main door to the building has no lock and not attended building needs some maintenance on the outside
- Sharon (8/5): Very good - Bathroom was updated and clean. Bed was comfortable. Ice machine wasn't working.
- Dennis (6/5): Room smelled like a bar - Very historic. Not a bad location. Very dated and room smelled like a bar Room smelled like a bar
- David (10/5): Clean - Great place to stay and very clean room
- Madeleine (8/5): - Great little hotel. Room was clean and had a lovely view. Only complaint is that we booked a Queen room but the bed was full-sized. We were too tired to try to change or complain. Otherwise, would definitely recommend.
- Jeff (10/5): - Good place to crash while fishing Homer.
- Cassandra (8/5): thank you it was great and will stay again - availability the view
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Super clean, friendly front desk fellow. Was able to book at the last minute. Great!
- Banks (6/5): would diffently stay again - staff and building old building and which we enjoy the history.
did expect the taj mahal.
- Oscar (10/5): Very comfortable - The room was nice and clean. really comfortable. Only thing missing is Kleenex.
- Dale (8/5): - The hotel is an older style building. No elevator, not many outlets and a key for the door (not card entry). Over all, the Hotel was clean, staff friendly and the view from the windows was great. The location was in the center of what we were looking and yes I stay there again.
- Shelly (4/5): - Our room was in the basement! When you looked outside, you could see only the weeds that were growing so tall out the window. The curtains didn't even cover the window completely. No glasses or cups in the room or bathroom. The bed was as hard as rock & no hairdryer. I've never stayed in this bad of a place & overpriced for what we got. I definitely would not recommend !
- Mercedes (9/5): Superb - The property was very clean, quiet and surpassed the expectations. Mostly updated and nice for the price. Truly expected a lot less than what we got for the price. 10/10 recommend. The toilet seat had no cover.
- Stephanie (10/5): - Great stay. Appreciated the 24 hour coffee and tea station. Lovely lounge. Would have liked an additional chair in the bedroom. Staff was great!!!
- Anthony (6/5): Pleasant - Price was the primary reason. It was a great place to sleep and store our stuff. Small room for 3 adults.
- Chris (10/5): Way better than price/ratings suggest - Was worried by low price and (at the time) low booking.com rating but was pleasantly surprised that my queen room was perfectly fine despite it being an old building. No strange smell, shower very strong, room fully equipped with fridge, even had a nice 2-direction window view. Staff was nice and gave us a way to return after closing hours. Nothing
- Sonia (8/5): Great night stay - This was an unexpected 1 night stay. I was happily surprised with my room.
Hotel was rated at 7.4 on hotels.com, but I would raised that rating to 8.7.
Room was very clean as well as the bathroom.
I would comeback anytime.
- Tiffany (10/5): - Staff was so friendly and kind!!
- Hannah (10/5): - Room was clean, staff was super friendly and helpful, location was right on the main road which I thought would noisy but it really didn’t bother us. Would definitely stay here again.
- Michele (10/5): Comfortable, quiet room in a good location - Location was good, wifi worked very well, and I was very happy with the staff. No problems and a reasonably priced plae to stay in Homer. I would definitely stay here again. No issues with this property.
- Rebecca (6/5): Stay somewhere else - The hotel was clean and friendly staff but the bed was so uncomfortable neither of us could sleep. The bed was rock hard, only 1 thin sheet and thin blanket and pillows so thick it felt like 4 pillows stacked up and hard. We could here everyone around us TV as the walls are super thin. The place feels more like a hostel than a $175 night hotel.
