Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Incredible location near sea cliffs. Very friendly engaging hosts
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Small room. Way overpriced
Good breakfast!
Nice location.
- Lee (10/5): Great place run by great people. - A lovely spot run by fantastic folks Cheryl and Brad. And we saw whales!
- Rhonda (10/5): Great spot - Great location very comfortable and nice owners
- Peter (10/5): Wonderful stay at this BnB. - With the host, we didn't just meet new people but we met new friends. Very friendly and personable. Made us instantly feel welcome and comfortable. Provided us with a cozy little house part way up a cliff directly on the ocean front. Wonderful view and great sunsets. A full home cooked breakfast to start each day, fresh fruit, a variety of baked goods, eggs directly from their own chichens in the back yard pen, bacon, french toast, omelette, juice, jams, coffee, tea. Brad is a great cook. And he helped us find hiking trails, restaurants, pubs, a local brewery and a winery, boat tours, weather reports, local history and interesting sites in the area.
- Willie (6/5): Cozy little hideaway near beautiful view of water - Very quaint little house by the water with a host who was aiming to please! Tricky to find, though, so we were glad we arrived in daylight, as it was confusing to find. It should be listed in "Crow's Head" ( or whatever it was called), not Twillingate because that was confusing and there were so many B&Bs around! It's at the very end of a twisty road and better directions could be provided. We also got the impression the host, who was pleasant but seemed to have a lot on his mind, has not been doing this for very long and still has a bit of a learning curve. For example, we didn't know if we were to be there for dinner or not, or to notify him if we would or wouldn't. Also, there were 4 couples at breakfast at once, and only 2 people cooking and taking care of specific menus, so it took awhile. Maybe more staff at breakfast?
- Verified traveler (6/5): Small room, overpriced, beautiful location - We had a decent stay mainly because of the staff and location but the room and overall facility were cramped (like Hobbit hole cramped), noisy (water pump, rooster crowing, early morning setup for breakfast) and overpriced (nearly twice as much as we paid for any other comparable B&B). The food was ok but nothing special.
- Elizabeth (8/5): Excellent experience - Cozy qwerky place with warm friendly host
Excellent location
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice B&B close to the beach outside of the city - Globally we had a good experience with the B&B.
But i would say for the price of the room the breakfast should be a bit more & the bathroom in the room.
very nice host.
Quiet area
- Verified traveler (10/5): WOW.... - We had a great stay at White on Wood. The location is beautiful. Icebergs right out our window. Brad is an excellent host and serves up a delicious breakfast. The room is comfortable and clean. We would stay here again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Quaint bed and breakfast - It was simple and primitive but very nice and added to the trip. It was a wonderful stay. The owner was very friendly and helpful. The location is great. I recommend it.
- Bock Cheng (10/5): - We stayed for one night only due to time constraints. The location of the B&B was as advertised -right at the end of the Twillingate cape. The view was fantastic -
especially the sea strewn with ice floes and some small icebergs. The owner of the B&B, Brad, was our warm and attentive host. He was also our dinner and breakfast chef! A memorable visit and stay indeed.
