The cold breakfast was quite large, with a variety of meats and cheese, fresh vegetables and fruit, cereal and muffins. The bed was a little hard and it would have been nice to have something to place our toiletry kit in the bathroom.We loved the towel warmer!

Our room was musty and damp, with a nest of spiders in one corner that was not removed for two days. The staff are absolutely indifferent to the guests, spending most of their time playing on their phones.

- Eilon (7/5): - The hotel is located in a secluded place, far from any village. If you look for a quiet place - this is the place for you. There is a 2-hour trail with magnificent views that starts at the hotel and goes around the peninsula where the hotel is located. The hotel serves very good breakfast and dinner. To reach the hotel from the main road, you need to drive 2 miles up a narrow side road full of potholes. You need to know how to evade potholes to drive in this road. There were various small issues with the room: sometimes the flush button in the toilet remained pushed, and water kept running; it required effort to close the curtain; and the curtain rod kept getting out of its place.

- Josee (1/5): Completely terrible - Nothing was the worse hotel ever Road to get there is dangerous and not maintain well. Room was dirty, floor uneven and cracking. The bed mattress was extremely worn-out.
- Graham (1/5): Unsatisfactory - Views We have asked the owner for a refund but he has never replied. For one night we paid £2 short of £300. The private road is full of pot holes, slip, trip fall hazard entering reception, banister outside blowing in the wind (videos and photographs can be provided) Stained sheet on bed, had to sleep on the towel, couldn’t have a shower due to moulded shower head and tiles, toilet roll holder also awful. We are well travelled and never thought in our own country we would see anything like this hotel and the breakfast that was provided. Trestle tables were erected with plastic table cloths. A poor offering of pickles, beetroot, olives, cheese, salami, cold boiled eggs, stale croissants… it is the worst we have seen, also having to set our own table and the tea was cold it couldn’t get any worse. (Salt in the hotels water and were supplied with a bottle of water) We feel cheated and robbed and the relevant authorises need to be aware of this.

- Tim (4/5): Okay, aber viel, viel, viel zu teuer - Wir hatten ein großes Zimmer mit Meerblick. Alles in allem war alles solide und total in Ordnung, aber auch nichts außergewöhnliches. Der Aufenthaltsraum im Erdgeschoss war sehr gemütlich. Toll für Tierliebhaber, Schafe laufen direkt durch den Garten. Auch der Seeblick ist schön. Es war nicht schlecht, aber viel, viel, viel zu teuer. Für den Preis erwartet man eine Luxus Suite mit Wellness und Pool, stattdessen ein normales Zimmer mit normaler Ausstattung, etwas in die Jahre gekommen und nicht besonders sauber. Eigentlich habe ich gar kein Problem mit Selbstbedienung beim Frühstück, aber bei dem Preis nicht mal eingedeckte Tische passt einfach nicht zusammen. Der Ventilator vom Nachbarzimmer war sehr laut bei uns zu hören und hat uns eine Nacht viel Schlaf und Nerven gekostet. Insgesamt für unsere Bedürfnisse eigentlich zufriedenstellend, aber der Preis ist unverschämt. Für 150€ die Nacht gäbe es eine gute Bewertung.

- Syl (7/5): A great location - Your strong points are definitely the location, the size of the room and the bathroom (the shower is well-designed and spacious and the bathroom is well-equipped). Add to this Ludmilla's kindness during breakfast service. A tip regarding rooms overlooking the shed. For accommodations like yours (which are surrounded by greenery) it would be helpful to install mosquito nets to avoid unpleasant encounters (for those not accustomed to them) with local spiders. Furthermore, having visited the adjacent accommodation, Greshornish House, you could take greater care in keeping the patios clear of leaves and dirt and choose more attractive and functional garden furniture. You could also take more care of the common areas, such as the green spaces near the shed and the terrace adjacent to the restaurant. It might be a good idea to add tables and chairs so guests can enjoy that space as well. Areas for improvement are: 1) lack of room cleaning service. During our three-day stay, only the bed was made, towels were changed when we requested and biscuits were added. The bathroom was never cleaned (the wastebasket wasn't emptied, towels weren't folded when we didn't request a change and glasses weren't washed for 3 days, even though they were placed on the bathroom sink). We did not find complimentary water or toiletries. 2) Breakfast. The menu lacked variety (mostly pre-packaged products) and local products were not promoted to encourage tourists to purchase what they had tasted and supporting small local producers. 3) The restaurant. The lentil soup was quite good (although the bread was cold and packaged), but the rest was nothing special. Unfortunately, after having tried the exceptional culinary offerings at the nearby Greshornish House, your offerings fell short. For all these reasons, we believe the room rate is disproportionate and is primarily due to the accommodation's location. However, it's unreasonable to charge such prices just for the view (which only 6 of the 17 rooms enjoy), while completely missing out on basic amenities (like cleaning service) that any accommodation should provide without fail.

Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis auf Skye stimmt nicht und so auch in diesem Hotel. Frühstück für diese Preisklasse nicht genügend. Das Dinner war knapp OK. Der Tisch hat wir an vielen Orten leicht geklebt. Im wirklich grossen Zimmer waren trotzdem zu wenig Abstellflächen fürs Gepäck.

- Johana (2/5): Will do my very best to avoid in the future - Had higher expectations for this, the location seemed really good and it was lovely and quiet around with a lot of sheep as well, which I loved. The size of the place was good as well Before you book, please read the following: 1. There was no clean water. The host as we checked in confirmed they had issues with their water recently, and handed us a 1.5 L bottle of water to compensate for that ( we were staying there for three days, two nights, one bottle for two people) Everytime I tried to brush my teeth I could taste the water; smelled horrible and it was definitely not clean. I avoided showering for all of my time there which made it extremely uncomfortable. I brushed my teeth with bottled water every time. I used my own bottled water which we brought with us for everything else, including making tea and coffee etc. 2. The place had a weird smell around it, perhaps it was bad timing but you could smell sewage all over the building. The property inside itself as well didn’t feel clean at all. 3. A property that size and not a single kitchen facility in; no sink, no microwave, just about a small fridge. I understand probably the purpose of that was to avoid people cooking or eating their own food (which is absolutely not acceptable) but for the qualify of food they provided, it’s shocking. Breakfast was just a collection of multiple cheeses and ham, and a bunch of fruit and yoghurt. No warm options, it was shockingly bad, we did our best to avoid it. I don’t want to imagine what dinner was like. 4. The host was also, for lack of a better word, rude! As I approached the reception she didn’t make an effort to acknowledge us while on the phone, and as soon as she finished she just looked at me, meaning “ what do you want” and I just replied with “checking in”. It was the same encounter when I checked out. There was no questions asked about my stay or anything like that. Just good bye! 5. FINALLY, for a property that charges you almost £450 a night, this is ABSOLUTELY SHOCKING! I’m surprised they’re still in the business.

IL se trouve dans un environnement assez reculé, ce qui être un atout pour ceux recherchant le calme et la tranquillité, mais pourrait décevoir les autres. Concernant l'accueil, le personnel adopte un style plutôt direct et peu chaleureux. La restauration sur place remplit sa fonction, sans se démarquer particulièrement.

Petit déjeuner entre 8h et 9h30, tour le monde doit débarrasser le plancher après 9h30, gare à vous si vous arrivez à 7h50! « Eight o’clock!!! » on se fait réprimander comme un enfant dans un pensionnat. La porte de la chambre a du mal à se fermer à clef. Pas de coffre fort. La TV ne fonctionne pas. Pas de volet uniodes rideaux Mini frigo bruyant Parquet usé limite propre Fenêtres condamnées fermées à clef, impossible d’ouvrir, et sales en plus. L’extérieur n’est pas entretenu : maison et alentours. Très isolé de tout, vous êtes condamné à manger dans leur restaurant prix excessif. 500 e pour ça on s’est bien faits avoir.

Reaching it also requires navigating some rough roads, with potholes—some nearly a foot deep—that make the drive a bit of an obstacle course. Dining options are extremely limited, and the breakfast was just so-so.

The shower leaked. I couldn't finish my shower, being warned by other guests that I was flooding the room beneath.

- Paul (5/5): A great view, but not worth the money. - The sea view was very pleasant and although only a continental breakfast, the spread of options was first class. The bed was uncomfortable. The milk provided in the room was curdled. The bath did not drain efficiently so when having a shower you were ankle deep in water and the carpets are showing their age. We also ate at the restaurant, which was average at best.

Additionally, we had a patio with an outdoor setting. It was such a serene environment. The view from the restaurant and sunroom is extraordinary. We dined at the restaurant and the food was delicious with a lot of choice The Breakfast buffet catered to all tastes. The staff were really helpful and friendly. I wish we could have stayed longer! Nothing to dislike. It's beautiful!

- Lewis (10/5): Exceptional - Considering the price of the room, I was extremely disappointed with the breakfast. Their lack of hot breakfast was described in the reservation. Even so, boiled eggs direct from the refrigerator was somewhat disconcerting. Also, they put out a spread of miscellaneous pastries, etc. But this spread is a one-shot thing. Arrive a little late, you may be out of luck. . The proprietor sat in a chair in the back of the room, observing, and didn't appear to lift a finger. All three days that we stayed there. The hotel is in a remote area with a glorious view and few amenities beyond that. My previous stay, they served hot breakfasts. Seems a simple thing.
- Bruce (10/5): - This was a beautiful rural property with lots of character. the road in was a single lane road with lots of potholes, but once entering the property the driveway was great with easy parking. rooms were large on a courtyard configuration. On site restaurant served excellent food and staff was outstanding . The complimentary continental breakfast was awesome and a lot more then we have experienced in other establishments. An outstanding stay and will highly recommend.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The lovely driveway couldn't be enjoyed as we had to avoid numerous potholes. The booked Deluxe double room was not a deluxe room and was not what we were expecting for the price we paid, glasses and kettle were dirty, curtains hanging off the rail, musty smell, etc. The heating was running at 25 degrees and despite changing it numerous times it was still boiling. The TV only had 2 main channels. No chair in the bedroom. No other room was available to move to, despite Redwoods and Booking.coms websites both saying there were 3 rooms available for the remaining 3 days including 2 seaview rooms. The staff were very friendly but lacked experience and responsibility with the owner/manager not available and not seen in the 4 days we were there. There seemed a lack of leadership and experience. The water was unfortunately undrinkable due to lack of rainfall so we were given bottled water which we had to go and get.

- Pohl (9/5): An upscale resort in a rural setting - The room was large, well laid-out with comfortable arm chairs and a wonderful view over the property's lawns to the loch. The bathroom was spacious and very clean. Initially the location appeared to be out of the way, not being near any villages or larger towns on Skye. However, the setting, the friendly staff, a nice bar and an excellent dining room and kitchen compensated for the apparent remoteness, a mile or two down a one-lane farm road. Thewell prepare kitchen was able to turn out very well-prepared, plated and tasty meals both for dinner and breakfast, An error on our part with booking could not be addressed by management and we were redirected to booking.com to address the problem. After some difficulty we actually were able to talk to a human at booking.com and the customer service person, Mahmoud, was extremely heplful and able to reolve our issue.

The bathroom floor is lifting and the baseboards in and around the bathroom door are dirty, the tub faucet needs replacing - the button controlling water temperature will not turn to cold. It took numerous attempts to close one of windows as the mechanism is sprung. The carpets in the room need cleaning and the hallway and stair carpets are dirty and lifting. Young afternoon/evening staff are friendly and helpful. The same cannot be said for morning staff in the dining room. Worst coffee of my entire trip through Scotland!
- Carolina (5/5): Lacking hospitality - The location on the isle was quite secluded and quiet. I called for a late check in due to a travel delay. Reception let me know everyone would be asleep but that they would leave the keys and some directions. I asked if we could have a bottle of wine and they agreed. Nothing else was stated. When we arrived there was not one single light left on, the key was on the reception but there was no directions to the room, no notices and sadly no bottles of wine. It was hard to find the room and I am sure we disturbed others. While the wine is complete understandable, the lack of directions and no lights was inexcusable. But the worst part was that the water in the hotel was not drinkable and we were not told this. We got pretty sick, dehydrated and finally figured out it was the water when we read an obscure sign the second day in the room. They claimed to provide bottle water yet there was none left at reception or in our room either of the two days. Really inhospitable especially for the cost of the room.

The staff/owner were very accommodating and friendly. The restaurant was fine, however, it did not in any way fit the description as advertised on the web sight. It might be beneficial to update the web sight.
