• Annemie (10/5): Prachtige masseria in de Salento - De schitterende ruime kamer met hoge plafonds, enkele fresco's, twee grote balkons met weids uitzicht op de tuin. De masseria is 800 jaar oud, prachtig gerenoveerd, harmonieus en smaakvol ingericht. Het domein is erg goed onderhouden en er is een groot heerlijk zwembad. De ontvangst door de familie was erg hartelijk. Iedereen deed er alles aan om het ons naar de zin te maken. Ook Moussa die ons verwende met lekker ontbijt en perfecte bediening. Aan de charme en luxe van dit verblijf hangt natuurlijk een prijskaartje. We misten wel een minibar/koelkastje op de kamer: al is het maar voor een koud flesje water.

• Bee (10/5): Our favourite stay in Puglia - Wow. Where to start. Critibianca was one of our most memorable stays we have ever experienced, especially in Puglia, where we have visited for several years. This was our first time staying at Critibianca though and it won’t be our last. The Ghione family made our stay spectacular from start to finish. They all welcomed us on arrival and gave us a parting gift on check out, which was completely unexpected but such a beautiful touch. Allesandro was a delight throughout our stay. Such a lovely guy to talk to who was so attentive and taught us so much during our many conversations. Also, Moussa’s food throughout our stay was exceptional. The breakfasts were wonderful, using family recipes and lots of local produce, many of which is grown on the grounds. We ate dinner twice there because the food was so good. Our room was also BEAUTIFUL overlooking the grounds. We wish we had stayed longer than 3 nights. We will be back N/A
• Amanda (10/5): A wonderful home from home - Everything - we had such a magical 10 day stay. Our room was beautiful and the restoration work that the family has done is just stunning - it was spacious and so comfortable. The bed was amazing and we slept so well and the two balconies were lovely to sit at with views overlooking the property. The property itself was fabulous with a gorgeous pool and lots of lovely seating areas. It was so relaxing. The family were so welcoming and attentive - Roberto even went with my husband to the local garage when he needed a tyre fixing and they all looked after us so well and gave us lots of tips to explore the area. The food was absolutely fantastic, the four course dinners were unbelievable and the breakfasts were incredible, especially Moussa’s wonderful baking. The property was so well located to explore the Salento region. We wished we could have stayed forever and hope to return. Can’t fault a thing.

Il nous tarde de revenir !
• Loredana (10/5): Something out of a fairytale - Staying at Critabianca was nothing short of a dream. Words don’t quite capture how special our time there was. We have stayed at some of the best hotels in the world - but we can honestly say that they pale in comparison to the experience we had at Critabianca. The Ghione family went above and beyond to make sure our stay was absolutely perfect. From the moment we drove down the long driveway, we were warmly greeted by Alessandro and Roberto, who instantly made us feel as though we had arrived home. We then met Roberta, Nicoletta, and Moussa - each of them so welcoming and kind, adding to the sense of genuine hospitality that makes Critabianca unique. Our room was breathtaking, with elegant arches and a balcony overlooking the Masseria. Every detail felt thoughtful and authentic, blending history with comfort in the most beautiful way. Breakfast was a highlight each morning - everything homemade, fresh, and delicious. Moussa’s cakes, changing daily, were a true delight and something we will never forget. Leaving was the hardest part. We wished we could have extended our stay, and we already can’t wait to return. If you’re considering booking Critabianca for your next trip to Salento, don’t hesitate - it will be one of the most magical stays of your life. Thank you to the Ghione family and the entire team for giving us memories we will always treasure. We loved everything.

La Masseria est un véritable bijou : ses murs sont chargés d'histoire et sa décoration raffinée crée une ambiance intimiste et accueillante, idéale pour se détendre en amoureux. Le petit‑déjeuner est merveilleux et très généreux! Préparé avec soin, mêlant produits locaux et créations maison, nous l'avons savouré chaque jour. Un grand merci tout particulier à la famille exceptionnelle qui nous a accompagné tout au long de ce séjour. Leur chaleureux sens de l’accueil et leur bienveillance rendent cette expérience encore plus précieuse. The owners and hosts are most welcoming and hospitable, with lovely chats at dinner and by poor to make you feel most at home. • Jocelyn (10/5): Exceptional service and breakfast - It’s a very nice masseria, lovely design, nice gardens. But the true value of Critabianca is the people and service. So welcoming, so attentive to detail, always available and friendly. Both the family and Moussa were really lovely and it made a big difference to our stay. Breakfast is also exceptional. We didn’t really lack anything. Maybe some of the in-room amenities are more extensive in some other masserias we have done (I.e coffee machine, vanity kits…) but it wasn’t an issue.

The most relaxing and restful week we’ve ever had - This is a wonderful country guest house, where you are made to feel like a special guest of the family. Roberto, Roberta, Alessandro and Nicoletta are wonderful hosts- kind, gentle, thoughtful people who provide the most relaxing and peaceful holiday. Moussa is the chef and what a talent he is! The food is absolutely fantastic. Many of the vegetables and fruit are home grown- pomegranate, zucchini, oranges, lemons, tomatoes… Perfectly located to see all the sites of this wonderful region. The house itself is 13/15 century and has been sympathetically restored- simple, stylish rooms, with great bathrooms. This is a very special place

Stay here and you won't regret it. - We loved the way that the family looked after us, they really care about their residents. The food served at breakfast and dinner was exceptional. Grounds and pool lovely as were the rooms. Lovingly restored country house. Nothing, it is very quiet so if you are looking for nightlife this isn't for you, although you can find it a short drive away. It's a romantic place for couples in our opinion.

They have exquisite taste and take care of lots of small details. The breakfast we as special as other guests noted and the way the home has been renovated is quite stunning. It is hard to say as we really loved it. I suppose a little table on the balcony could have been nice. A few more cushions ain the common areas, but honestly we loved it.

I cannot rate our stay highly enough. Roberta, Roberto, Nicoletta, Alessandro, and Moussa made us feel at home from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. Interacting with Nicolletta before our arrival was a pleasure. When she "hounded" me about our arrival time, I had no idea it was because the whole family comes out to greet each guest! And when we departed ,it was the same thing. Eveyone was there with a hug and a handshake. The rooms were exceptionally clean, breakfast was excellent (and prepped by the family every morning), and the poolside lounging and the estate could easily compete with the beautiful beaches of Puglia. We only ate on site once, but that two was beyond excellent. I highly recommend this unique and wonderful Masseria. You truly arrive as guests and leave as friends!!!!

From the moment we entered the property the owner Roberto came out to greet us, give us a tour and then offered us some coffees with cake. They were more than helpful to give us all the local recommendations. This was an incredibly peaceful getaway with just the amount of explorations. The breakfast there is extraordinary. The dinner there was just as wonderful. You must try the limoncello! Roberto’s daughter makes it by hand and it is truly the best I have ever had. I only wish they sold it for us to take home. Everyone that worked at critabianca was so kind and genuine. We felt that we were leaving family when we left Critabianca. Roberto & his family & Moussa have created the perfect Italian oasis. We look forward to coming back as soon as possible!

The whole family is incredibly welcoming, always smiling and ready to provide recommendations in the area. The Masseria and grounds are also beautiful. We are still dreaming of the delicious breakfast freshly prepared by Moussa. Make sure you save an evening to have dinner and drinks at the house, also prepared by Moussa- he really is an amazing chef. The place has been carefully renovated and the beauty of this shines through in every detail. It's a very easy place to interact with other guests. Dinner was a treat prepared with fresh local produce. Breakfast was the best ever. A series of delights served at your table. Fruit, freshly baked pastries and brioches, salad, eggs to order, great coffee. It's a perfect location to tour the heel of Italy and Roberto will advise on where to go depending on your interests. That we had to leave!

The rooms were exceptionally clean, breakfast was excellent (and prepped by the family every morning), and the poolside lounging and the estate could easily compete with the beautiful beaches of Puglia. This place has such a serene atmosphere that we didn’t want to leave after almost a week. Nicoletta was spot on with her beach recommendations, and thanks to her, we swam in the calmest waters and best beaches of southern Puglia until we found ourselves again by the pool at the Masseria for some afternoon iced coffee and sorbet. We couldn’t have asked for a better, more relaxing stay. Absolutely nothing.

Alessandro prepared us an amazing itinerary and gave good restaurant recommendations, while Mousa and Nicolleta prepared us local, freshly baked and prepared breakfast in a beautiful garden. Crittabianca is very well located in Salento region within a 30 minute ride to most cities around on both east and west coasts.

More than anything, Critabianca is an exceptional boutique hotel experience at an affordable price. The owners and staff were genuinely warm-hearted and friendly. They made our stay so much more than we had expected. The breakfast was extraordinary and made from local produce, some even from their own garden. Everything is home made and delicious! Our special diets (vegan+gluten free) were no problem at all. The dinner was to die for - best we have ever eaten! Next time we will also take part in the cooking class. The suite with its own terrace, was even more beautiful than in the pictures. The suite is spacious and with very high ceilings, some of the old frescos have even been saved. Due to the off-season we could enjoy the whole hotel to our selves. The property with garden and pool is really beautiful, the pictures don't do it justice. The weather was cold during our stay so we didn't get to enjoy it fully, but when it is warmer, the breakfast and dinner is served outdoors in the courtyard. The cute house cat can be greeted from time to time. You will receive excellent tips for your adventures around Puglia (do visit the coast from Otranto to Leuca!) by the owners. • Lavallee (10/5): Dream place in Salento - Perfect quiet place to visit Salento. Beautiful and confortable home. The hosts Roberto and Roberta received us like family. Mussa cooked wonderful breakfasts and suppers. Very convenient to eat at the masseria after driving all day. Roberto speaks very good french and english and give us very good informations on places to visit and itineraries. We would return with pleasure. To have to leave ....
• Lorraine (10/5): something to treasure in our memories of Italy - I wanted to pick up this beautiful place and carry it with me all over Italy so I could continue to stay here. We had the “Princess Room” which is so spacious and has so many wonderful features including the gorgeous ceiling, the walls with frescoes and the two balconies. I also loved sitting in the various garden seats scattered around the garden, especially the one near the roses for an evening wine - so peaceful and relaxing. Not only did we have breakfast at the masseria we also dined there each evening and Mosaic, the chef, presented us with delicious, fresh food every time. The attention to detail and care with which everything is done to ensure your stay is as elegant and stylish as possible is something I will always remember and hold dear. Roberto and Roberta are wonderful warm, generous hosts who offer sage advice and assistance. Their restoration of the masseria is a very interesting story and they have worked with great care to keep the atmosphere and sense of history while also creating somewhere very comfortable snd elegant. we loved the area, particularly the town of Galentina. nothing

• Jac (10/5): Exceptional. - Beautifully presented, very stylish masseria. The owner Roberto, was charming, delightful, and incredibly helpful - nothing was too much trouble. The breakfasts, made and prepared by the wonderfully talented Moussa, were feasts for both the eyes and stomach, and the dinner we had during our stay was delicious.
• Maxime (10/5): Come as strangers, leave as friends. Perfect location to explore Puglia. - - Roberto is an exceptional host. From sharing all he knows about food, culture and things to do to in the area to making sure that everything one asks for is taken care of in a very friendly and polite way. It was a true pleasure to tap into his experiences and getting to know him as a person. - Moussa is an incredible chef who made breakfast and dinner for us on a number of evenings. He also provided us with a cooking class, which we highly recommend. The food is predominantly self-made, straight from the garden. Truly exceptional quality and taste. - The hotel is beautifully restored with a lot of taste for design and historical aspects. Our room was large, the bed was great, lots of nice little details etc. - Having to leave after 4 nights. Really nothing else.
• Rene (10/5): Come as a guest, go as a friend - If you appreciate personal attention by a family dedicated to make your stay a happy and comfortable one, Critabianca is the place to go. Lovely people, great food (with in particular an exceptional breakfast) and such a beautiful country estate are not easily matched elsewhere. A joyous welcome immediately made us feel at home. The enthusiasm displayed by Nicoletta and Roberto when proudly showing the house, was easily matched by Roberta and Mousa in the kitchen. Of course, the house being in a more rural area, it is much more quiet than if it were in town. That also implies that you require transport to get around. But the location is very suitable to reach most other parts of the southern heel of Italy’s boot well within the hour. We will certainly return! nothing
• Steph (10/5): Just wow - beautiful and relaxing - Where to begin?! Critabianca was a dream. We had a day of delays and didn’t arrive until midnight. Nicoletta was in communication with me all day and stayed up with Roberto greeting us on entry and showing us to our room. When we woke up we went to breakfast and was served the freshest, most delicious food by Roberto and Moussa. The whole family was incredibly accommodating, it was clean, beautifully decorated and we felt very relaxed. We chose to eat dinner at Critabianca in the night which was the local cuisine with fresh produce and absolutely delicious. We will definitely be back and will tell all our friends and family to stay here.
• Day (10/5): Exceptional - We stayed at Critabianca for our honeymoon and we can honestly say every part of it was perfect. When we first arrived we were in complete awe of the house, such a peaceful feel and impressive design as well as great warmth from the lovely family who run it. I could write a whole essay on our stay but have chosen a few favourites that really stood out. Roberto basically planned our whole stay, he told us about the best restaurants and the best towns to visit - along with which days to go where according to the weather. He and Alessandro were so generous with their time and every suggestion was just perfect. Roberto knows where all the good food is! Secondly, Moussa, the in-house chef. Wow wow wow, so much detail in everything he cooks and all from scratch! We had dinner one night at the hotel and also did a cooking course where we made fresh Orecchiette pasta, focaccia and cake! We enjoyed eating his delicious breakfast each morning and he always greets you with a smile. Thanks also to Roberta and Nicoletta who helped us when booking and were so kind. Clean rooms, beautiful countryside, amazing places. We rented a car at the airport (a must, very straightforward - I would recommend pre booking), this enabled us to see lots of different towns and beaches. Highly recommend to anyone seeking an unusual, beautiful authentic holiday! We will definitely be returning and miss them all already! X
• Catherine (10/5): Exceptional! - There was nothing not to like about Critabianca, it was by far the best place we’ve stayed in Italy. The Gione family and Moussa can not do enough to make your stay special - As we drove up to the property we were greeted by the whole family, and from that point on Allessandro, Roberto and his family looked after us as if we were old friends! The property has been restored to a exceptional level, the interior design and architectural details are stunning, and the rooms are very comfortable and clean. Last but definitely not least, we could not do justice to explaining how phenomenal the food truly is - Moussa and the family make each breakfast unique and delicious and the evening meals really are Michelin Star quality and more… so good that we stayed in the hotel twice for dinner rather than going out exploring! We’re already looking at our return trip! Thanks so much for everything! Nothing.

• Sarah (10/5): Exceptional - Our stay was one we never could have imagined. The Ghione family redefines what it means to be in the hospitality business. They poured their heart into this property and it is a true labor of love. While the design is beautiful and the history of the masseria is rich. Roberto, Roberta, Nicoletta, Alessandro and Moussa truly treat each guest like family and create an environment that makes you feel like you're at home. They are warm, inviting and take a real interest in all of their guests. Their morning breakfast is nothing like we have ever seen. Ask about their cooking classes! My partner and I took a cooking class with Roberto and Moussa and it was the highlight of our trip. Critabianca is a great homebase to explore the southern, coastal towns of Puglia. The mattresses are quite firm and while many people many enjoy them, we personally found it a bit less comfortable.
