Margaret (10/5): - This is a beautiful resort. The hot springs are very natural and relaxing, and very clean. There is an infinity pool looking out at the volcano. The rooms were very comfortable and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We in got a lot hiking and activity in the area but also enjoyed the gym at the hotel which is well- equipped.

The thermal pools were emptied and pressure cleaned every day (impressive), then obviously refilled. Everything was constantly being maintained and cleaned. The breakfast was beyond our expectations. The location was peaceful and quiet. Loved our time there. Highly recommend this stay.

Steve (8/5): - Our family truly loved our stay in Paradise. The quiet, the attentiveness of the staff, the 9 hot tins and pools were all fabulous. Our room faced the Aernal Volcano and just feet from our door was the pasture where Brahma steers grazed and slept. The location put is in easy proximity to the rainforest and mountains for some of the best adventures of our lives. Oh! Let me not forget the infinity pool of the upper brunch cafe facing arenal. Rooms very large and nice but no views. My wife went ZipLining in the morning and there was essentially nothing for me to do. Pools closed, too small to walk around and even coffee bar not open until 12. Buffet OK but certainly not extensive.
lrowe2019 (10/5): Top 10 family stay of all time! - Absolutely stunning interior grounds. Don’t let the outside fool you. Not crowded even when the hotel seemed fairly full. Excellent staff and the hot pools are worth the price of accommodations. We will definitely be back next time we are in La Fortuna, hasta proxima!
Excursion814136 (4/5): Disappointing- uncomfortable - Overall disappointing - Rooms were good - view of Volcano was great - Hot Springs was wonderful. Service and the staff attitude were just downright uncomfortable. Like we were such a burden. No smiles not accommodating helpfulness. No attempt at a warm reception. I mean this place is not cheap. I expected much more professional and welcoming atmosphere. Lady at the reception seemed like she was working at a funeral home, there was uniformed crew member just lounging in the reception area as we tried to check in that was blasting clips and reels with profanity on his phone. We could hardly hear the lady talking to us but even after we expressed we couldn’t hear what she was saying she just shrugged her shoulders. The guy that “helped” ( he drive a golf cart for a total of one minute and unloaded our 3 pieces of carryon luggage) us to our room complained to another worker there in Spanish thinking we won’t understand that we didn’t tip him enough!!! Staff at breakfast were just so inconvenienced by us. No talking not good morning no smiles. Just seemed they were forced to be there against their will. The bartender was super nice though. The only welcoming person. He should run the place and fire everyone and rehire people that want to be there. Overall while the rooms and resort were nice out experience was not. We would not start there again or recommend to anyone else. There are many other places.

Crystal (10/5): - It was a great option to have the hot springs nightly. The breakfast was excellent and lots of options including an omelette bar. The food we did pay for at dinner time we were not impressed with but there were excellent dining options in La Fortuna. We did lots of days doing self driving and returning here at night. We were able to do these things from this location: la Fortuna waterfall, Rio Celeste, Arenal 1968 hiking trail, mistico hanging bridges. Only thing they could do is to post to wash your bathing suits after going in the hot springs always as they smell horrible when dry.

The hot springs were a highlight—very clean, well-maintained, and the perfect temperature to unwind. The pools are cleaned daily, which we really appreciated. The entire property feels very serene and never crowded. Our room was spacious, spotless, and very comfortable. It’s clear that the staff takes great pride in keeping everything in top condition. If you’re looking for a peaceful escape with gorgeous views, clean facilities, and natural hot springs, this is the place to be. Would definitely stay here again!

D1897SDdawnm (4/5): Disappointing - This could be an amazing property. The view at the coffee shop and the infinity pool is perfect. The hot springs are nice. We had a 3rd floor volcano view room with a hot tub and the room was absolutely phenomenal EXCEPT the hundreds of ants that invaded the room every night and other bugs and lizards. I reported this and was told, "well you are in the rainforest that is normal". I had never been here so I accepted it, although it made it very difficult to sleep. I had to put on shoes (which I kept on the bed) to get up at night and walk to the bathroom. When I say hundreds, I literally mean HUNDREDS of large ants crawling all over the floors, walls, and ceiling. We talked to people at surrounding resorts and they did not have this same experience. The front desk lady said she would have someone spray outside our room but that was all she could do. It did not help at all. We realized that the ants were coming in around the air conditioner and the doors had no seals on the bottoms so there was a huge gap that the larger bugs and lizards were entering through. We went on to stay in a tent in the forest of Monteverde after we left La Fortuna and we did not even have the amount of critters enter our tent out in the forest as we did our room at Paradise Hot Springs. I would have rated this resort so much higher but this night time experience in our room was simply unacceptable and the staff just discounted our concerns completely. And no we did not have any food in our room!
Dawn (4/5): - This could be an amazing property. The view at the coffee shop and the infinity pool is perfect. The hot springs are nice. We had a 3rd floor volcano view room with a hot tub and the room was absolutely phenomenal EXCEPT the hundreds of ants that invaded the room every night and other bugs and lizards. I reported this and was told, "well you are in the rainforest that is normal". I had never been here so I accepted it, although it made it very difficult to sleep. I had to put on shoes (which I kept on the bed) to get up at night and walk to the bathroom. When I say hundreds, I literally mean HUNDREDS of large ants crawling all over the floors, walls, and ceiling. We talked to people at surrounding resorts and they did not have this same experience. The front desk lady said she would have someone spray outside our room but that was all she could do. It did not help at all. We realized that the ants were coming in around the air conditioner and the doors had no seals on the bottoms so there was a huge gap that the larger bugs and lizards were entering through. We went on to stay in a tent in the forest of Monteverde after we left La Fortuna and we did not even have the amount of critters enter our tent out in the forest as we did our room at Paradise Hot Springs. I would recommend this hot spring to anyone who wants a relaxing stay and close distance to La Fortuna town. The hot springs are kept very clean and you have a beautiful view of the volcano.

Amy (8/5): Cool hotel-book room 39! - This was a really cool hotel in a great location! We loved the view from our room (39) of the volcano and all of the pasture animals. It was so cool watching them fill the hot springs in the morning with fresh steaming water. Some of the pools needed some new tile and felt a bit dated but overall we really enjoyed ourselves here.

813kaycip (2/5): Terrible massage, poor communication, awful food. - I had a really bad experience with a wellness pass to this resort. I did not stay on property. The Swedish massage was PAINFUL. Swedish massages are supposed to be relaxing and stress relieving. This was worse than a deep tissue massage, like the therapist was not trained or certified, and my achilles tendon was actually injured by it. I winced the entire 60 minutes, and tried to say something and had to pull away a few times while the therapist apologized, but never let up on her pressure. I'm trying to get a refund but their communication is sparse and almost non existent. The food was also really terrible. This was a pretty horrific experience and I would recommend going to a different hot springs in the area.

Adam (8/5): - We stayed at Paradise for a night before heading elsewhere. Loved their Hot Springs - especially the swim up bar. Room was huge and as nice as anything in the area within this price range. Two minor pieces of negative feedback: our shower was lukewarm at best both times we used it. We also had our towel & room key taken from our pool chair and the front desk associate gave us some attitude when we asked for a new towel new room key. Outside of that - this is a great hotel for the price range.

The food 3 lunch meals 2 dinner meals and daily free breakfast far exceeded our expectations. the staff were fantastic very friendly and helpful when needed. The beer sold at two different bars temperature was cool at best. Cold beer please! Easy fix!

laurencC4386RZ (10/5): It really is Paradise - Truly paradise! The resort is beautiful and the staff are wonderful! It is smaller than some of the surrounding resorts which makes it feel more private. Rooms are spotless and the pools are luxurious. The breakfast buffet was outstanding!
25rae (10/5): Lives up the the name: Paradise - We LOVED this resort! The staff was phenomenal across the board. The hot springs were even better than what the photos reveal. We had a room with a volcano view, which was the cherry on top! I think the best part of this resort is that it has fewer than 70 rooms, so the lovely included breakfast buffet and pools are never overcrowded. I would stay here again! La Fortuna can be a rainy area, so having the warm hot springs to retreat to was something you could enjoy, rain or shine.

277franklinp (2/5): Promised a refund and didn't follow through - This resort has no integrity and no soul. We had to modify our stay due to a death in the family and management said they would refund us for nights that we didn't stay if they received a death certificate. I promptly provided an obituary and said the death certificate would take a couple more days. 2 days later I emailed a copy of the death certificate and didn't hear back. I've followed up multiple times and haven't heard anything. Management provided assurances that we would not be charged, but never followed up on my request for refund. This was a stressful time to try to figure out how to get back for the funeral, and it was a burden on my family back in the states to try to provide me this information while they were making arrangements. The management is dishonest and disrespectful. I would not recommend staying here.
Linda (10/5): - Our room was very clean and very updated. The thermal spas were plentiful and well designed. We loved the coffee bar with private pool that looked out over a farm full of animals and the volcano. It is beautiful.
ekoenig2 (10/5): Loved it! - We thoroughly enjoyed our three night stay at Paradise Hot Springs. Our room was in excellent condition and immaculately clean. The included breakfast was excellent. The grounds were beautiful. The hot springs pools had various temperatures and were all very clean (drained, cleaned and refilled nightly). And, most importantly, the staff were all very warm and friendly. We especially liked the location - slightly away from the hustle and bustle of the nearby town but easily accessible to many nearby restaurants. Highly recommended !

761renataj (6/5): A beautiful resort but... - The entire resort was beautiful! The rooms were very spacious and the hot springs felt amazing! I wish someone would pick up the branches and leaves, but that didn’t bother me too much, that’s nature. The staff could have been a little more helpful, I had a feeling that nobody cared much. One of the bartenders had a little attitude and wasn’t pleasant to talk to, but I got over that as well. I had an incident where the shower door smashed my finger (deep cuts on both sides of the finger) and I was in need of stitches. I was helped at the front desk with a first aid kit, but nobody cared enough asking what had happened? I told them about the shower door but no urgency. There was blood everywhere, I could have lost my finger! They just gave me a bandaid and a rubbing alcohol, but told me the bathroom was clean so no danger of an infection…. Well maybe!? They didn’t even ask me what my name was or what room I’m staying in. Yes, it was my fault and I should have been more careful. I’m only writing this review just in case someone travels with children, to be cautious! I Think there should be rubber on the glass shower doors? The doors are beautiful, but incredibly heavy! The lady at the front desk was very robotic. Even during our check-out, all she said was: “ you owe this much and bye bye”. I was in the office 3-4 times in the last 24 hours of our stay regarding my finger, she didn’t ask me once how I’m doing or who I am. I do not need any sympathy, but was shocked how this was handled. Having a beautiful resort it's no enough if you have people who do not care.

Michelle (4/5): - It’s not clear on the property description the hours of access(11-10) to the springs or the fact that they let quite a few public visitors in every day - it gets crowded! It would be nice when paying almost $300 a night to at least get access to the springs without public present or to be able to go at night. There is one pool (which is neglected) for guests only, but it was cold and dirty. The campus is large so prepare to all everywhere. The bed was comfortable and for that I am grateful.

Wonderful to spend time in the car area with an awesome view of the volcano. Be aware that at times the pool areas could be busy with day use visitors but there is still plenty of spots to hang out. The grounds were stunningly beautiful with mature plants everywhere, rooms were lovely and comfortable, the bed was super comfy, and the bathroom was big with natural light. We got a wonderful couples massage and the food was really fresh and delicious. Staff all spoke good English and were friendly and helpful. We especially loved the coffee shop that overlooked the volcano.

Laura (10/5): Highly recommended! - We had an amazing stay at paradise thermal hot springs resort! The facilities were impeccable and the staff were super friendly and attentive. We got to experience beautiful views of the volcano every morning while sipping local coffee from our balcony. The included buffet styled breakfast was delicious, with a wide variety of fruits, local foods, and pastries. The thermal pools were incredibly beautiful with tropical plants surrounding everything. There was even a private thermal infinity pool just for guests that overlooked a beautiful field leading up to the volcano. We definitely recommend staying here when you visit La Fortuna. PS: if we book through a third party site, my husband and I always call the hotel ahead to confirm our reservation. So far, we have never had issues, but I say this because we did witness one couple who were very upset due to complications with their booking. Although I don’t know the specifics of their situation, I did notice that the staff were very professional and courteous towards them. Pura Vida!

Raven (6/5): - If you have an early departure flight, do not book this resort. They lock the entrance and exit gates at night with a key and there is no attendant to assist. You can try calling, but no one will answer the phone. There’s no way to get out. I told them during the check-in process that we had an early flight and would be leaving early on our departure date. It’s scary to know that there is no staff available at all on the property at night and they lock everyone and their vehicles inside the property. If there’s a fire or you have a medical emergency (or volcano eruption), just know that you will be stuck without a way to exit the property in your vehicle. Eventually, after several attempts to call the front deska and knocking on the doors & windows, some sleepy looking kid came out and unlocked the gate, but we were already running 30 minutes behind schedule at that point. As we were pulling out of the gate, we noticed our rental had a flat tire, which it did not have when we parked it there the night before. Did the employee offer to assist us? Of course not. In fact, he immediately locked the gate back up and disappeared. My husband put the spare tire on and we were finally able to get on the road but we ended up missing our flight.

It is a hidden gem, with beautiful spacious and clean rooms, amazing clean hot pools, beautiful grounds and views of the Arenal Volcano, and little bonuses like the Finca Cafe and the new infinity pool overlooking the volcano! Staff is amazing and helpful for anything you need for your stay in the La Fortuna area. Great breakfast cafe included, and the restaurant is very good and has live music several nights each week. Love this place!

U4793EKadams (10/5): Very nice resort - We stayed at the resort for 4 nights. Food was awesome as were all the staff. The breakfast buffet was a great plus and we dined there a couple of times in the evening too as well as lunch at the swim up bar! The main highlight were the pools, all 12 of them! They’re all mineral pools naturally heated by the volcano and vary in temperature from 27c (80F) to 52C (126F). Great for your skin and very relaxing, especially in the rain, which unfortunately occurred every day for most of the day, even on January! They’re also drained daily and all were spotlessly clean. The resort is conveniently located north of the main town and you can easily get an uber to anywhere locally. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay but beware it’s very humid and damp so nothing dries!
