• Renold (7/5): - Jeg likte at det er sentralt. Baren var fin. Fine og hjelpsomme ansatte ved resepsjonen og på restauranten. Frokost kunne vært bedre og rommene er nokså slitte. Bassenget var heller ikke pent. De kunne ha gjort området litt mer hyggelig.

• Kausha (1/5): Absolutely disgusting experience at Valampuri Hotel. - Some of the staff is good. I left my charger at the property they kindly called me to send it back. We paid LKR 14,000 per night and what we received was nowhere near what was shown on Booking.com. The photos are completely misleading—this feels like false advertising. At check-in, we opened one of the rooms and it hadn’t even been cleaned yet. This is basic hospitality, and they completely failed. Instead of properly resolving the issue, they moved us to another room that was even worse—dirty, full of ants, and with a terrible smell. The bathroom was absolutely unacceptable. You couldn’t even touch the taps—they clearly hadn’t been cleaned for ages. It felt unhygienic and neglected. I even asked to upgrade the room just to get something cleaner, but they said there were no rooms available. The restaurant food itself was okay, but again, cleanliness was a disaster. Flies were everywhere, constantly landing on the food, and to make it worse, there was no water coming from the filter. This place seriously lacks basic hygiene and management standards. Charging this price for such conditions is outrageous. Avoid at all costs.

• Sivarajah (5/5): - The room was comfortable. We accidentally left back 2 pieces of clothing. When we realised it after 2 days the reception found it for us. Toilet was not great with the flushing button broken. Service poor. Eg. When the room was cleaned the used towels were taken in the morning. When we returned around 2pm after a long morning there were no towels in the room. We called at least 4 times and the towels were not delivered till 4.30pm.we not only missed out on our next appointment but also had to stay sweaty for the 2.30 hours. Next, the cloths given for washing and pressing came back very crushed. The photos were shown to the reception. The ironing facility provided, in my opinion was only a token, poor iron and board.

• Silvia (4/5): - Wir hatten ein DeLuxe Doppelzimmer im 3. Stock bekommen. Das Zimmer war sauber und geräumig und mit allem ausgestattet. Das war alles okay. Leider ist das Hotel sehr hellhörig. Über unserem Zimmer im 4. Stock st die Banquett-Halle gewesen. Dort weden u. a. Geburtstage gefeiert. Von nachmittags bis spät in die Nacht war das Stühle rücken zu hören. In den Gängen sind kleine Sitzgruppen vorhanden. Dort haben die Gäste aus Indien gegessen und sich mehr als laut unterhalten. Leider konnte man die Zimmertüren nicht geräuschlos schließen. Wir haben 2 Nächte leider nicht schlafen können. Um zum Tempel zu kommen muss man auf alle Fälle ein TukTuk nehmen. Der Bahnhof ist sehr nahe. Fußläufig erreichbar einige Restautund kleine Supermärkte.. Der Frühstücks/Speisesaal ist sehr ungemütlich und dunkel. Die Sauberkeit ließ zu wünschen übrig. Die Tassen und Gläser waren nicht sauber. Der gesamte Eindruck war nicht gut.

• Surupie (9/5): - Location. Adjoing the Jaffna train station. Very short walk. Food. Exceptional!! Breakfast buffet had a variety of Jaffna cusine. The crab curry was simply delicious! obliged in providing breakfast packets for an early morning tour to Delf. Clean hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. The toilets were clean. But there was a bad odour. It seems to be a common issue.

• Bakeerathy (6/5): - We stayed at this hotel, but unfortunately our experience was disappointing. While the accommodation itself was acceptable, the restaurant management was extremely poor. The staff were not given proper clean clothes or shoes, which made us feel very uncomfortable about dining there. Because of this, we chose to eat at a different hotel throughout our stay. It is very important for any hotel to maintain proper hygiene standards, especially in the restaurant. Sadly, this basic expectation was not met here. Until the management addresses these issues seriously, I would not recommend this place for meals. There is a lot of noise at night, and the hotel allows non-resident guests to use the restaurant and bar, which makes the disturbance worse.

• Anthony (9/5): Good value hotel close to Jaffna railway station - Convenient to railway station, 20 minute walk to Jaffna CBD/Fort. Some restaurants and shops within 5 minutes walk. I think I was the only person who used the swimming pool in the three days I was staying. Staff were friendly and helpful. Restaurant opens for breakfast at 7am. However, when I entered at 7am, almost no food was available from the stations. It took until around 7:15am before it was fully functional.

• Sd (10/5): Exceptional - This is a good 3STAR hotel right next to the main Train Station of the historic city of Jaffna. Fairly good rooms for the price you pay. House keeping staff are good, hence the rooms are tidy and well appointed. Service is the strength of this place. A very special thanks to the very efficient stafd at the reception. Ms.Thadsajini and Ms.Ragasini are superb professionals, helpful and always with beautiful smile. They are a strength to this hotle. All staff at breakfast are very efficient and helpful.

• Susan (7/5): Cheap hotel room, basic, but comfortable. - Fairly cheap hotel, right by the train station, so very convenient for travel. Lots of noise and banging late at night, which was not resolved, even after speaking to front desk.
• Susan (6/5): Very disappointing- much worse than my previous stays. - Location next to train station, which is very convenient. Clean, fresh towels provided. Air conditioning was good. It felt like the room should not have given out to paying customers. I’ve stayed here before and had no issues, but this time there was locums banging and drilling from 10pm till after midnight, so it was impossible to sleep. Also the shower nozzle holder was broken, so you had to hold the shower head in your hand, which was inconvenient, as I have a shoulder issue so I cannot lift my arm,l. I expected better from this hotel.

• Rajeevan (9/5): Great location, great traditional food. - The location was great since its next the Railway station, which was our mode of transportation. Close to the city, including shopping place, including Cargills Shopping Mall. The breakfast had most of the traditional Jaffan food, dosai and the hoppers were excellent. Both the hoppers and dosaid were authentic Jaffna style, specially the hoppers had no added substance that hardens the hopper to make it crispy. Try both the egg and milk hoppers. The Pittu and string hoppers were also good. The restaurant is short of staff specially during busy times. The staff are great always, but seems to neglect some of the customers because having too much in their hands. Saw one customer leave as it took a long time to get the menu. Sometimes it takes longer time to get the food once ordered. No proper uniform for the restaurant staff, can't differentiate from the customer and the staff. At least have a budge to identify themselves as a staff member or who the Manager is or the supervisors. All are in casuals.

The noise from staff in the front Iof the hotel continues past 11. It starts back up at 6 am but with construction, the cleaners. There are a lot of better options in the area.
