Guest Reviews
- Max (10/5): Beautiful stay, amazing service and quiet place to stay while still being able to enjoy the other p - Chiran was an amazing help, he made our stay incredibly comfortable and went above and beyond to help us out with anything needed. We had an amazing time there, what a beautiful place. Nothing
- Paula (10/5): The most beautiful stay in a bungalow with soul🌸 - What a beautiful experience, we loved the beautiful bungalow and we had the pleasure of having the amazing Chiran as our personal butler. He looked after us like royalty. We loved walking down to Saint Andrews Hotel for all our meals, the breakfast was the best breakfast spread we have experienced anywhere in the world. Thankyou to all the incredible staff you made our stay truly wonderful 🙏🌸 The shower needs a bit of love.
- Michael (9/5): Great location to explore Nuara Eliya and visit the old colonial post office and to have around of golf! - This was a bit of luxury on our trip and staying in one of the hotel bungalows was a wonderful experience. The “butler” was charming and the buffet in the St Andrews Hotel was exceptional. Nothing
- Karim (10/5): -
- Christian (10/5): The best hotel we have ever stayed in. The highlight was the service in the bungalow provided to us by Chiran. - The decor, the gardens, the service and the food. Not applicable
- Daniëlle (10/5): Great room and very kind staff - Chiran was a great host who helped me so very kindly throughout my stay. He really made my 3 nights at Jetwing Oatlands Bungalow excellent. The room has all amenities you need and a beautiful garden for relaxing.

- Cordero (5/5): Lovely setting. Inconvenient location. Non-existent wifi. - This is a traditional looking guest house surrounded by nice gardens. Very lovely room and large bathroom. The butler was very attentive and kind. The location is up on a hill away from town, so not very conveniently located. The room and especially the stone floor bathroom were very cold and damp. The butler had to bring me 2 heaters and two heavy blankets in order for me to warm up enough to sleep. I was very uncomfortable. The WIFI was non-existent despite the butler's efforts to reset the system for me. I tried unsuccessfully for 5 hours to get a WIFI connection so that I could do my work. I had to check out after only one night. I was too frustrated. I was told that breakfast would cost $30, which I did not take. Too expensive!
- Thirumaal (8/5): Very good -
- Buzz (10/5): Refresh here at Oatlands - Exceptional service from our host Jeewantha who fed the wood fire at night in the lounge, answered all our questions, made sure we were well fed and very comfortable in this beautiful, timeless get away.
Much nicer than staying in the big hotel, we had personalised service and beautiful accommodation.
Easy walk into town for amenities and short tuk tuk rides to the hiking starting points.
We had a day and a half and took in a stroll through town to see the old buildings of the Police Station and the Post Office before a drink at the Golf Club. The second day, we hiked to Lovers Leap, descended through the Pedro tea workers housing estate towards Gregory’s Lake. Got distracted and headed to Hill Club for tea on the lawn.
- Andy (9/5): A lovely stay and great host. - Great host (Sanath) who was very friendly and helpful. Very quiet and comfortable rooms. Sanath lit a fire in the lounge after dinner where we played family cards…very kind and nice.
- Damitha (3/5): Overpriced Run-down property - The room was okay and the bathroom was clean, The beds were comfortable. The breakfast was served at St Andrews and it was horrible. The staff at St Andrews have a dont care attitude and they dont simply understand or care to understand simple instructions. The hotel is cutting down their costs by serving margarine but labelled this as butter. Baked beans were replaced with chick peas in tomato sauce. Even the sri lankan food were below par.
Oatland garden is poorly maintained. The grass is not cut and there is weed all over the place. The place needs a colour wash badly. For the price paid this is overpriced.
- Eoin (8/5): Very good - Very good location, small walk through the back garden which leads to the main hotel where they serve breakfast and dinner and a nice little bar. We visited in December so very festive and cosy feel. Staff were very friendly and accommodating even made us a packed lunch for our trek.Room and bed were very comfortable. Would highly recommend. Can be slightly cold in the room and the house. Once the heater is on it gets nice and cosy.
- Shenal (10/5): Exceptional -
- Verified traveler (8/5): Christmas Eve in Nuwara Eliya - Friendly and helpful staff. Authentic hill country experience . Close to centre of town. Good breakfast choice. Ask for extra blankets as it's cold at night.
- Marc (10/5): Nostalgia done right - Very comfortable bedroom and unique setting. Enjoyed taking dinner in our almost private dining room.
- DARIKA K (10/5): Great place to stay, fantastic staff - We had a wonderful stay at Oatlands by Jetwing. Arriving in the evening we were warmly welcomed by Sarath, with hot soup to warm us up. The bungalow is tastefully decorated and had a lovely fire in the living room. The bedrooms were cosy and warm and bathroom spotlessly clean. Sanath was wonderful, a very pleasant and unassuming person. He was very attentive, kind and helpful. He helped my 87 year old father navigate the steps down to the hotel. We really appreciated his concern.
Oatlands is a great choice, we had the cosiness of a period bungalow with access to the larger St.Andrews hotel for meals if we wished. On one occasion after visiting World's End, we opted to dine in the dining room in the bunglow.
There is a small wetland area next to the hotel vegetable garden, which may be of interest to birders. Overall we had a wonderful stay at Oatlands.
- KEIBIN (2/5): Old hotel , but fashionable. - Impressed me most is that the waiter is a gentleman , very sincere.
The room is pretty clean and the bathroom is fantastic.
- Shankho (8/5): - It is actually a bungalow converted to a hotel. The advantage is that u get a private drawing room with an actual working fire place for the evening. The only disadvantage is that the kitchen is in the neighboring hotel and you have to plan your meals in advance. The staff is very helpful
