• masae (10/5): - ミニマムながら必要な物は全て揃っており、とても快適でした！ 平湯の森の温泉券も頂けるし、別館にも温泉が付いています。ミニマムながら、朝は珈琲サービスがあるなど、要所要所に気遣いを感じました。 バスターミナルにも近くて、本当に便利です。 恐らく昔の建物のリノベなので、部屋の中等はとても綺麗なのですが、壁が薄めかもしれません。私はすぐ寝てしまって気にならなかったのですが、音に繊細な方は、耳栓を持参すればより快適に過ごせると思います。

• SIRIN (10/5): Memorable stay with onsen at affordable price - The hotel is very close to the station (about 3 mins walk). Their indoor onsen is nice. I got to the hotel around 19.30 hr from the afternoon bus from Shinjuku, so I was the only one using the onsen that night and it was peaceful. You also get a free ticket to use the outdoor bath at Hirayu no Mori which is a few minutes walk away and this ticket has no expiration date, so you can keep it if you plan to visit Hirayu onsen again in the future. There is a shop selling local souvenirs, food and drink across the street, and there are restaurants nearby. The hotel itself doesn't offer breakfast so you will need to bring your own food to eat at the lobby area or go eat at restaurants in the area.

Das Highlight war das kostenlose Hirayu-Onsen im Freien – eine unvergessliche erste Onsen-Erfahrung! Auch im Hotel selbst gibt es ein Onsen. Sehr entspannend nach einem Ausflug nach Kamikōchi. Es gibt kein Frühstück, man sollte also selbst etwas mitbringen – aber es gibt kostenlosen Kaffee im Hotel.

The room was spotless, comfortable, and beautifully maintained, providing the perfect retreat after a day of exploring. I especially loved their onsen bath — it was incredibly relaxing and a highlight of my stay. The food was delicious. The location is ideal — conveniently situated and easy to access, yet peaceful and relaxing. Overall, everything about this hotel exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a perfect getaway. I can’t wait to come back!

• Kevin (10/5): Loved staying here - Loved our rooms. Large, comfy single beds, en suite toilet. The shared bathroom was an onsen, so that was a plus. Also got free use of main hotel's fab onsen a few minutes down the road. Looked after our bags before we checked in and after we checked out. There was also a room with microwave. It was much much nicer than the photos suggested - which is why I said the photos weren't accurate. They under-promised and over-delivered. Which is the right way around. Really handy for bus station, walk to waterfall and local cafes and restaurants. That we couldn't stay longer because they were booked out.

• Carla (10/5): The perfect experience for a budget price - This is the perfect place. The room smells new, is spotlessly clean, and has amenities for your comfort, both in the room and at the reception. I stayed on days with very low temperatures, and the room was a warm and clean refuge. Like all traditional places in Japan, the bathroom is separate from the room area, which increases the feeling of cleanliness. Use the onsen at the hotel itself, and you also get vouchers to use the main Hirayuno Mori, for a price well below the main hotel. A fantastic experience! If you have Chinese neighbors, or even worse.. with children... it will be a bit difficult stay if you are sensitive to noise, as the walls are thin, but if you ask the reception they will talk to this family and little by little they will realize that in Japan the rule is to be silent!

• Jayde (7/5): A great option for those wanting to stay in Hirayu Onsen on a budget! - The room was very spacious and comfortable. Even though it was snowing the entirety of our stay, the beds were very warm and kept us cozy during the night. The location was also amazing, with a general store across the road and a few fantastic restaurants within short walking distance. The staff were very friendly. Due to some unfortunately timed circumstances we weren’t able to use the hot springs during our trip. This property does have separate showers, but they’re coin operated (100¥ for 5 minutes). They don’t have any body wash, shampoo or conditioner so I suggest buying some across the street or packing your own if you won’t be able to use the hot spring. There was also a hole in the window screen of our room which let in a lot of cold air during the night. It wasn’t that much of an annoyance, but not ideal.

• Emily (10/5): This is my second time here and it's just as great as the first time - Getting tickets to Hirayu no Mori onsen was amazing. The staff was very nice and kindly let us sit in the common area until check in. They also held luggage for us, which I appreciate very much. The onsen itself in the hotel was also very great. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. Nothing, everything was great.

Toilet and sink, no shower - you use the one at the onsen as per Japanese custom. Very comfortable bed and staff very helpful. You get free tickets to use the large outdoor onsen about 5 mins walk away - what an incredible experience. Slightly dated but very clean and otherwise authentic.

Very few options as far as convinience stores go, and the ones in the bus station or the nearby ryokan don't seem to restock very often, so take it into account if you plan to get your meals that way.

Not really a negative, but maybe good to know that the only way to shower is at the public baths (onsen), no shower in the bedroom (only toilet).

• Verified traveler (10/5): 平價又舒適很推薦 - 這裡是平湯之森的分館，房間內空間很大，窗邊還有小茶几和桌椅可以休憩，內有暖氣機及古老的冷氣、冰箱。原本是預定沒有浴室的房型，入住應該是被升等成有浴室的房間。櫃台人員親切會英文，辦理入住時會另外收取溫泉費（150日圓/人），然後會給【平湯之森 總館】的免費泡湯券，從分館步行到總館約三分鐘【可以在總館消費用餐】。分館也有自己的浴場。 另外一樓設有販賣機＆洗脫烘設備＆休息區【有很多漫畫可以看】。二樓有免費簡易早餐可以享用。距離平湯溫泉巴士站步行2分鐘。算是平價又舒適很推薦。

• TZ YING (8/5): 推薦！性價比很高的飯店！ - 飯店離平湯巴士站牌非常近，步行約1-2分鐘，由於比預定時間早到（大約10點半），飯店讓我們寄存行李並且將行李直接送至房間，接待員服務態度超好，親切的介紹飯店設施及使用時間，預定住宿贈送平湯之森本館泡湯券（可惜只開放到10點），不過別館也有湯屋而且為24小時開放。三人入住兩人房（兩張西式床單人床+一人和式地舖），空間仍覺得寬敞，床柔軟適中，房間內只有廁所，沒有衛浴設備，洗澡需要到公共湯屋，飯店有附帶早餐，不過略為簡單，下次還會考慮入住。
