Guest Reviews
- Isobel (10/5): An absolute pleasure and would love to come back - He was so accommodating and hospitable. It was so comfortable being there. Everything was clean, the bed was comfy, and even when I overslept he was so kind about it and helpful! I really enjoyed my stay! Nothing!

- Peter (7/5): - The owner is very nice, friendly, and accommodating. In terms of value, I loved staying at this hostel and recommend it to travellers! If possible, try to get the owner a bit! :)

(5/5): Passable -
- Janie (8/5): Very good -
- Felipe (8/5): Very good -
- Drake (10/5): A great place to stay and experience Osaka on a budget. - The hostel gave a great taste of what it's like living in Japan, it's a great value and has easy access to major areas of Osaka. It's a little rustic feeling, but it's to be expected for a hostel.
- Szilágyi (9/5): such kind, friendy host. it was extraordinary to actually live w the him for the time i've stayed. -
- Marvin (5/5): Passable - - Owner is very friendly
- There is an upstairs common room with kitchen
- Sake night - There is no space. The Check-In is right inside the dorms. No space to put your luggage. No privacy.
- The location is really far from central Osaka
- Paul (8/5): Very good -
- Lina (10/5): Amazing - The host is really nice and helpful ^^ I also make new friends here & I would say, I am so grateful to be here <3 People are so wonderful & it makes my day brighter <3 Anyways I booked for a single room for 2 nights & it was fantastic.
- Ener (9/5): Awesome 👏 - I stayed six days and what can I say fantastic stay being that there were not so many people however the credit goes to the super nice owner I will return there 😊 Nothing
- Chisato (7/5): Good -
- Luis (6/5): Not very comfortable but good price - The owner is very friendly and helpful
The bathrooms are very clean
Kitchen was also very clean This is a very cheap hostel, but some of the very basics were not covered:
The bed is extremely uncomfortable. It’s not even a mattress, it’s sort of a hard mat. Didn’t sleep well at all. On top of that, you are not even given proper blankets. You just get a towel that covers the bed:(
My bed was in front of a huge window with no curtains, so everyone could see from the street. My bed compartment curtains were not curtains, they were small kitchen rags that didn’t do the job.
The bathrooms/shower were in a completely different area. You had to go outside, walk up the street and take some stairs. Very uncomfortable specially when it rains.
Not a social hostel. Hard to meet people.
The train station is very far away (20mins walk). And it is not one of the main stations, meaning that you will probably have to swap trains at a bigger station to reach your destination.
- Jason (10/5): Exceptional -
- Migueltorena (10/5): Exceptional -
- Portela (5/5): It was okay - The guest is amazing. Great guy with a really friendly approach. They have a sake night at fridays which is really cool! The area is really traditional so you'll be able to find traditional restaurants. I felt litte bit disappointed with the organisation and cleanliness of the hostel, I also didn't like too much the area because was 15 minutes away walking from the closest station and 45' away by train from the nicest places in Osaka like Dotonbori.
- Isabell (10/5): Exceptional -
- Annasab (7/5): Good one - Owner was little friendly. He will guide us to the next destination, at what time we should leave the hostel to get the next destination and how long will it take from the hostel. He gave us free champagne for the small party with co-travellers. That was amazing. Need to walk 15 mins to Shonai subway station.
- Fakher (10/5): Welcome to music uni hostel - The hotel owner is a cheerful person who welcomes everyone, the welcome and behavior are wonderful Nothing
- Jimenez (9/5): Superb - A pleasant experience overall, the owners is very kind and helpful, and is able to assist you in English as well. the location is fairly away from to many stores or restaurants but as a hotel is amazing value, if you simply need a place to sleep and shower it doesn't get much better.
- Samuel (8/5): Cool little place - 1st day in Japan so my mind was constantly being blown!?! Everything is interesting, all the little details and inventions and juuust everything!!! 🫠!?! The location is great for restaurants, shops and exploring by foot, lots of pretty little streets with traditional architecture. There's a funky little well stocked kitchen at the hostel, free tea and coffee, indoor and outdoor communal area, TV and a guitar. Showers not great but perfectly in keeping with the rest of the aesthetics, local onsen bath houses are available 24hr. The host is very helpful and a good person.
Walked to the Sonne station the next morning as we had a domestic flight from Itami, was a very nice walk along a canal and through parks, cherry blossom was still out April 13th 💫👍 Staying in the downstairs twin room, the only access to the toilet means putting on slippers, going outside to the street, into another door with a code lock, slippers off, then upstairs to a toilet, slippers, lock door, back round to main entrance, lock door, slippers, back to bedroom 😅 a few beers in the evening meant going to the toilet in the middle of the night which is such a process it's actually hilarious.. 😇
- Igor (10/5): Exceptional - Very friendly staff
- Petra (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sid (2/5): Very poor -
- Lizama (9/5): Superb -
- Mattsson (10/5): Exceptional -
- Isaiah (7/5): Good - the common space on the 2nd floor is nice, showers were clean, the owner was very friendly and helpful and has great English you have to go outside and enter the 2nd floor through a side door for showers
- Wexler (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rrr (8/5): Very good - The owner was very nice and friendly. He gave me convenient info about the area for shopping.
- Yannick (3/5): This place needs a make up - The Host was very friendly and gave me some advice for activities in the area.
The area was quiet and pieceful. The shared areas and especially the bathrooms were untidy and seemed not clean. The bed sheets were said to be included but were very rudimental, if present at all. The bed felt uncomfortable and not clean. Overall it was too pricey for the level of quality. This place needs a make up. You can tell that the photos must be quite old.
- Dominique (9/5): Superb -
- Phyu (4/5): Disappointing -
- Yoshitaka (10/5): excellent! - good feelin' non!
- Jacopo (10/5): Exceptional - I spent there 5 days and after the first night I felt like home. The owner helped in many ways during my stay from travelling recommendations to booking a dentist for an emergency visit. If you want to see Osaka in a different but less hectic way, that's the place for you. It's peaceful It isn't as fancy and clean as other hostels, but the feeling there makes up for it. I totally recommend it.
- Archana (7/5): Good -
- Thomas (10/5): Exceptional - I moved the place and enjoyed my stay very much.
- Max (8/5): Very good -
- Andrejs (10/5): Exceptional - Very nice host and quiet area for relaxing. The only problem was that it's too far from central station. But at the same time, sleeping in the quiet area is the best. And 2 hours of relaxing walking from central station, won't hurt a lot.
- Soo (7/5): Good - The main basic things are there, very good the wooden pillow , first time to sleep with this thing, not comfy.
- Nzinga (7/5): Good -
