Omelettes were hard bacon pieces. I didn’t see any other food very disappointed. Their breakfast could’ve been better. Everything was empty when I got there at 9 AM nothing to drink

- Michael (4/5): Once I got into a room it was fine. - For the second week in a row, I booked a hotel with this chain. Last week, we were handed a key and entered a room where someone was already inside. We walked in on them watching TV. This week I was alone. I was handed the key and I walked in ot a room that was either in use or had not been cleaned. The bed was not made, the ironboard and iron were out, and there were dirty towels on the floor in the bathroom. I returned to the desk, and with the help of the very nice lady working the desk, we were able to get me into another room. It took nearly an hour to get to that point, and much of it, I was concerned that I would need to find another hotel due to no staff there able to clean the room. They also said that there are no hotels with open rooms in the surrounding area. At one point, the woman at the desk, who was the only employee in the entire building, had offered to clean the room. I was so tired I considered helping her if that was what had to be done. I would not have an issue with this if the hotel were, say, half the cost, but I paid a premium to stay here to get a good night's rest. If it was just the one time, either this week or last, I would not leave this comment, but two weeks in a row. Someone needs to know. The room wasn't cleaned. It was the last one, and for better than 30 minutes, I wasn't sure I would be able to stay the night here. The next 30 minutes we spent figuring out if we would clean the room, and finally, a call came in, and a different room was allocated to me. Not what I am paying a premium for when I book a room with this chain.

The food in the breakfast area was appetizing, well-presented and well maintained throughout the service. The carpet in the hallways, elevators and rooms is worn and permanently stained in some places. The chairs in the room were dirty from use and need to be replaced. The dust on the ledges and light fixtures in the breakfast area was prominent and made the property look tired.

- GRETCHEN (10/5): - My husband and I had wonderful, relaxing four-night stay. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and quiet. Bed, WiFi, and shower pressure were all great. But what stood out the most about this Homewood Suites was the breakfast with multiple options and the hard-working kitchen staff employee, Chris. In my 66 years, it’s the first time I have asked an employee their name — he was that impressive. Kudos to team player Chris and his admirable work ethic AND well done, Homewood Suites!

- Alan (6/5): Dumpy dirty room - Extremely disappointed. Have stayed here the past two years and everything was fine. He price has gone up and the service quality has gone down. We stayed for two nights. Spent the second day away from the hotel and returned at 8:30 the second night. Room hadn’t been touched beds unmade, dishes in the sink, no new coffee pods, cups glasses- dirty towels still in a pile in the bathtub where they had been left in the morning. Called front desk and asked what had happened. She asked if I had requested the room be made up. I said no. Since when do I have to ask that my room be made up. Said if I don’t ask the don’t clean. Should have told me new rules when I Checked. She gave me two towels and wash cloths and said that was the best she could. My response is: there are other choices. Won’t stay here, or at this chain again. No apology, no offer to discount the second night because we were staying in dirty room. No nothing.

Didn’t use the pool but it looked well kept. The AC unit in our room was very loud and made a strange noise- we couldn’t sleep with it on. We asked for a room change, but the hotel was booked. The woman at the desk was very helpful and called the maintenance people, but they didn’t appear to be able to fix it.

- SeaMariner22 (8/5): Nice Lodging for Baseball's Hall of Fame Induction - For the Baseball Hall of Fame Induction, my wife and I needed to find a good hotel. Having 30,000 fans descend on a town of 1700 poses all sorts of challenges. We felt fortunate to have stayed at the Utica Homewood Suites. It is about an hour drive from Cooperstown. The rural highways are easily navigated with the Google Maps app. The hotel is clean, modern and has a great complimentary breakfast to wake up to. We stayed three nights but somehow our every other day room cleaning was missed. In any case, I would recommend this hotel for Cooperstown baseball visitors especially when closer lodging is unavailable. Also, the indoor pool is a nice feature.

The selection of toiletries was made with consideration for the environment. Recycling options were conveniently available, promoting sustainability. The overall ambiance of the room was quite pleasing. These thoughtful details contributed to a positive and memorable stay. The only thing that seemed missing was a hot tub.

The breakfast is truly outstanding — a wide variety of fresh, delicious options that go well beyond the usual hotel fare. The staff are always warm, welcoming, and go out of their way to make sure everything is just right. The beds are incredibly comfortable, making it easy to get a great night’s sleep. Everything is spotlessly clean, from the rooms to the common areas. This has become our go-to hotel when in town, and we look forward to every visit!

- Brian (8/5): Very good but falls a bit short of Excellent. - Nice rooms. Very clean for the price. The hotel has a very nice lounge and patio. So overall I thought it was good value and a very nice stay. The only minor issue is the soundproofing between rooms seems just OK. To be fair our own room was very quiet but my mother-in-law couldn't sleep in her room because the neighbor was snoring so loudly. Its difficult to combat this in hotels but some seem better setup to minimize noise then others. Still a strong recommend. 8.5/10 overall for us.
- Jacquelyn (6/5): Nice stay but not worth the money - I believe we stayed here before but did not really like it then either. But, the receptionist staff are all right, check in was smooth. However, we requested foam pillows which were being placed in the room when we got there, just not on both beds! Good thing I brought my own pillow. The pool was a good size but there were only two towels when we went down to use both the pool and fitness center. Although the fitness center has some good machines and weights, a key machine was out of service. The room was spacious enough but the whole place needs updating and better beds as well as better lighting. The hotel is in a great location close to shopping and restaurants as well as the universities. All in all it was a pleasant stay, just not work the money. The beds were really hard and although there were 2 foam pillows placed as requested, our whole family is allergic to down. We had 4 people staying in that room---good thing I had my own pillow. The walls were paper thin and we could hear everything next door. I can't say there was much I didn't like, it just wasn't worth the money we spent.

- Jeannette (6/5): After staying there 3x and dealing with the noise, Ido t think we’ll be staying there again - Nice property. Nice rooms. Close to Utica University where our son goes. Absolutely no insulation between floors and walls. You hear EVERYTHING. You hear every step above you and in the hall. Seems like they cut cost when building. In a previous stay we had to change rooms because of loud music and smell of weed on the floor. Front desk said that locals stay on the weekends with friends and have their kids play in the pool. It’s a shame because it’s a nice hotel.

- Tanya (10/5): Excellent weekend stay - This Homewood Suites was very clean, comfortable, and affordable for our weekend away upstate visiting family. It was in the perfect location and the room was very comfortable. The included breakfast was the best spread I have seen in a very long time at a hotel. Everything was fresh and delicious. We would recommend and stay here again if we’re ever in the area.

- Jacquelyn (10/5): Comfortable but pricey! - The bed was super comfortable. For me, that was key! Great location, close to SUNY Poly which is what we wanted. The front desk staff were no-nonsense but nice. The room wasn’t the cleanest but it wasn’t very dirty. The sheets had stains on them and the toilet bowl cover was yellowed, kind of gross. I wish the fitness room had a little more room, it felt crowded and the workout equipment was placed in front of the mirrors so it was hard to see your form when working out. We didn’t get a chance to use the pool but it looked nice and clean. The price for the night was very expensive.

Bed comfortable and staff friendly. We got the last room available. Went to an Irish pub that was recommended by staff that was good.

- looking4honesty (10/5): Clean and safe! - I stay here multiple times a year for business travel. Rooms are always clean and it’s nearby shops and groceries. Would be cool if they put a peloton in a room for that room option stay. Very cool that there’s a bar inside too! I will definitely stay back!

- Ruchi (10/5): Excellent stay ! Thanks to Dominiqa & team @ Homewood. - It’s a nice family hotel in a beautiful location. Closer to Hamilton college families esp during move-in time as we did. We saw a few deers and love the apple trees . Very close to Lowes departmental store for any last minute shopping for your freshman child! The housekeeping service needs improvement; should be available everyday for room cleaning , this way the rooms will be maintained well with no garbage in the rooms.
