• Lurdes (10/5): - Área recreativa excelente junto ao rio. Pequeno almoço muito bom. Várias formas de passar o tempo, apesar de não termos tido tempo de usufruir. Trampolim, bicicletas, setas, canoa, badminton, piscina etc. Local tranquilo com animais e cheio de boas energias.

• Alena (7/5): Идеальное место для летнего отдыха и желания отключиться от связи с миром - Уединенное тихое место на берегу реки где раньше была мельница. Ослики, очень дружелюбные собаки. В домике камин, удобная кровать, кондиционер. Велком наливка. Завтрак в отдельном домике на берегу реки у камина. Вай фай практически нулевой, мобильной связи нет. Кухня очень слабо оборудована. Нет даже спичек для розжига камина или газовой горелки и мыла для рук. Душ в ванной холодный (мы были когда ночи холодные) и его невозможно прогреть. Это Некомфортно. Ребенка не мыла.

• Antonio (10/5): A charming riverside retreat with tasteful decor, beautiful nature, and an exceptional breakfast - We had a wonderful stay at Moinho do Maneio. The property is a beautifully restored mini-complex of small traditional houses and a mill, all decorated with great taste and attention to detail. Surrounded by pure nature, with a river crossing the grounds, it offers a sense of peace and authenticity that is hard to find. We especially enjoyed the walk along the river and the exceptional breakfast, which was a highlight of each morning. Overall, a truly delightful experience and definitely a great choice. Nothing.

Es de reconocer el trabajo que llevan haciendo esta pareja desde hace tanto tiempo, con las dificultades propias de llevar para adelante un complejo de estas características en un sitio tan remoto y no perder la ilusión. Una iniciativa tan chula debería estar apoyado por el comercio local más cercano, el cual se beneficia la labor de Moinho do Maneio. Los restaurantes de Penamacor no están en absoluto a la altura, y para tener algo decente tienes que volver a Valverde del Fresno

• Monika (10/5): A peaceful and kind place - Everything! Our small room was very cute and the pool was an absolute gem during a weekend of unbearable heat - not untypical for these parts of Portugal in the summer months. We were happy there were no cooking facilities in this particular room: we were able to explore the typical cuisine of the region. That we didn't have more time to try out the canoe, swim in the river, have another piece of our host's delicious homemade chocolate cake and take a closer look at the donkeys. Next time we will bring the kids.

• Koala (9/5): Quiet retreat from the rat race for families and couples - Excellent facilities, in an out-of-the-way location. Relish the natural waterways in once was a series of water mills. Beautifully renovated. Internet unavailable in our unit, I think due to the terrain.

The host was absolutely kind, friendly and hospitable and many things to do while staying there! Not good internet connection. Which is a plus if you wanna disconnect and do a digital detox.

• Peter (10/5): - An exceptional place—we decided to stay an additional day at Moinho do Maneio, canceling a night in the Douro Valley, because we loved the place and its surroundings so much. Anabela and her husband have created such a special retreat, truly a welcome respite after traveling through the busy cities of Madrid and Seville. The fireplace, the sauna, extra cozy cabin / bed, incredible breakfast with lots of homemade goodies, wine / beer to purchase, etc. all made the stay unique. This seemingly "undiscovered" area has something for everyone. It's close enough to small 13th to 16th Century medieval towns with tons of history to satisfy history fans. There's canoeing along the stream and it also looks like a cyclist and hikers paradise. It certainly exceeded its rating, in our minds. Additionally, Anabela and her husband were so helpful at pointing us to interesting sites to visit, even for when we left the area. Definitely hope to return one day and we will point others in their direction! (Must also say we enjoyed the company of their dogs and cats—such sweethearts).

The breakfast served was varied and rich, with local jams, cheeses and even a raspberry surprise (no spoilers). The landscape is absolutely breathtaking, perfect to relax and recharge. I highly recommend this place. The rooms need some warm white lights, as opposed to the cold white light bulbs currently used.

• Fadjaros (8/5): Perfect place to relax and disconnect from a busy world - Very friendly and helpful staff. Location is very peaceful and surrounded by nature. There is a swimming pool and a stream nearby. You can swim and use a canoe in the stream. Houses/rooms are spacious, clean and well maintained. A/C worked quite well. The house/room, we stayed in, had a small fridge, and kitchen utensils. It is nice if you want to prepare something or if you prefer to eat there. Breakfast has a decent variety. Internet connection is only available near the main house and the breakfast room (good for online detox) It would be great to have some insect nets on windows or doors, to allow to have them open without worrying about insects coming inside. This area can have a lot of insects, including mosquitoes. It would also be great to have a daily maintenance, for example to refill any toilet paper or replace towels.

• Jennifer (10/5): Exceptional - It was a relaxing stay in the middle of nature. The accomodation was clean, comfortable and quiet. We enjoyed walking along the river surrounded by trees, also had fun playing archery. It was a great place for a city break and actually was not so remote. It only took about 10 minutes by driving to find a restaurant for dinner. Finally, Rui, the host, was very friendly and helpful. We will want to come back again during the summer time. The room in which we stayed didn't have a door for the bathroom. We think it would be perfect if it has a door.
