Guest Reviews
- Cara (10/5): A fabulous and magical way to enter and see Rome! - This is a special place and has all the amenities of home. I loved the staff and the decor and what a treat to get to meet the artist who hosts the space. It's a lovely want to enter Rome!!! Really nothing was an issue. The staff went out of their way to make me feel at home. I would return again and again and have already recommended it to many others.
- Martien (10/5): - Friendly staff
Great location All perfect
Personeel ? Nilan alle credits ! -
- Haddad (7/5): -
- Jean-Yves (9/5): charmante B&B, perfect gelegen in Roma Trastevere - verzorgd en lekker ontbijt. attentvolle service
- Jo (10/5): -
- Laurence (10/5): Beautiful tranquil and reviving after long days sightseeing - Location in Trastevere perfect area for getting about in Rome and many local restaurants. Property nicely secluded and very quiet. Genuine small boutique hotel with genuine personal touches by the artist owner. Manager Nalin made us very welcome and gave a very professional service. Nothing
- Zoe (10/5): - I loved the energy of the house and how beautiful curated the space felt. Truly inspiring!
- Julie (10/5): Luxury of the highest order! - Magnificent. Exquisite. Luxurious. I could go on and on. This was the most beautiful accommodation I have stayed in, in Italy. I had just finished the Via Francigena and I had walked 400kms from Lucca to Rome and was a woman travelling on her own. It was off season so I saw about 3 pilgrims on the whole trek. It was cold and wet at times and very isolating. Some accommodations were great and some were less than. I had carried a huge backpack for days and I was shattered. I was looking for absolute comfort for my reward and boy did I get it.
Luisa the owner is the most beautiful lady who was so welcoming. An established artist and designer, you get to drink in the magnificent array of Luisa's collections and exquisite pieces.
Nalim who manages the property is AMAZING! He is fabulous on every level. Very kind, friendly and looked after your every need. Nothing was a bother.
Breakfast was divine. Absolutely delicious. An abundance of goodies is on offer from savoury to sweet. I am a little fussy with my coffee but nothing was a bother for Nalim. Every morning I would come down for breakfast and Nalim had my coffee waiting for me and he makes the perfect boiled egg.
A highlight for me was the resident dog, Noa. I had been missing my two dogs and it was a delight to be greeted by this bundle of love and fun. He is the friendliest dog - adorable and whip smart and very funny.
You are in the beating heart of Trastevere - a hop, skip and a jump from everything but sooooo quiet. You cannot hear a thing. You step into an oasis!
An absolute must stay when visiting Rome!
- Mona (10/5): We would like to thank you for the truly warm welcome in such a beautiful place, thanks a lot :) - We would like to thank you for the truly warm welcome in such a beautiful place, a place that is colorful, fragrant and friendly and we returned here every day with a smile on our faces, thank you :)
- FOUAD (9/5): -
Personeel is attend, service is persoonlijk.
- Megan (10/5): - Gorgeous
- ana cristina (10/5): -
- Jessica (10/5): Excellent location and service. Will stay again! - The property was beautifully decorated, and the AC worked great, which was important during a heat wave in July. The team was so friendly, and we enjoyed saying hello to the dog on property, Noa. We will come back for sure!
- Anson (10/5): Perfect - Staff was extremely friendly and constantly went above and beyond. The daily breakfasts were very goof as well. The dog that lives on the property Noah was an absolute sweetheart! N/A
- Paula (10/5): We felt very fortunate to be in such a lovely place in such a beautiful city. - The courtyard was charming, we particularly liked the sitting room, comfortable and elegant with a bohemian twist. It was very quiet but five minutes away from lively restaurants. Nalene was incredibly helpful, the room and bathroom were really clean and the bed was super comfortable. And great location. Oh and delicious eggs bread home yogurt etc for breakfast. There was nothing to dislike.
- Thom (10/5): A cozy retreat with kind staff just minutes from everything in Rome! - We loved the quiet comfort just a few minutes from the center of Rome. The room was everything we needed, with a comfortable bed and enough space for our two big suitcases (Americans on our honeymoon 😅). The indoor and outdoor common spaces would have been fun to relax in if we had not spent all our time exploring Rome. We were always excited to get over to breakfast in the morning — their selection of bread and pastries from nearby bakeries, fresh fruit, cheeses, and eggs was always how we wanted to start our days in Rome.
The staff were wonderful. Attentive and kind and clearly interested in who their guests are. If, like us, it’s your first time in Rome, don’t let the looks of the street outside dissuade you. Graffiti and to-be-collected trash are kind of everywhere in Rome. Our first impressions *outside* the B&B were a little hesitant but as soon as we got used to Rome itself, we felt right at home
- David (10/5): . Perfect location to explore Rome from. Close to excellent restaurant and bars and walking distance to all or Rome attr - Quiet and private. Excellent location. Nalin was an excellent host. Great breakfast. Court yard and garden is beautiful.
- Martin (10/5): super - Sehr gut gelegen, nettes Personal nichts
- Atai (10/5): A great place to stay in Rome - The location is perfect, near all the great restaurants of Trastevere and still a walking distance from the old center.
The room was big and clean and staff were exceptional!
Definitely a great place for a vacation in Rome, highly recommended.
- Andrea (10/5): -
- Aleksey (8/5): Exceptional stay – warm, calm, and perfectly located - My parents stayed at Buonanotte Garibaldi and absolutely loved it. From the moment they arrived, everything felt welcoming and well cared for. The small garden at the entrance is a lovely touch and immediately creates a peaceful atmosphere.
The location is excellent — very central in Trastevere, yet quiet and silent at night, which made sleeping easy and comfortable. The room and common areas were clean and well maintained.
The host was friendly and helpful, but a special mention really goes to Nalim, who was amazing. He prepared breakfast every morning and was incredibly kind, attentive, and genuinely warm throughout the stay. His friendliness truly made a difference and added a personal, human touch that you don’t always find.
Overall, a calm, clean, and welcoming place with wonderful people. My parents felt very comfortable and would happily stay there again. Highly recommended. Nothing
- Rishitha (8/5): Beautiful Airbnb designed to be a home - Very friendly staff member called Nalin. Beautiful communal lounge with books and loved the interior design! Beautiful courtyard, which we didn’t use as it was winter but I can image would be lovely in the summer. Close enough to cross the bridge and get to the historical centre by walk in 25 mins. Shower pressure was very weak, sometimes a trickle on the hot setting as soon as you moved the dial a little, it would go cold. The shower also leaked onto the floor. Quite a dark room downstairs, would be nice to have some more overhead lights / natural light. Breakfast could be better with varied options e.g more fresh fruit & atleast some hot options.
- CM (10/5): Luxurious, peaceful, oasis and musical - Unique collection of art and furniture, grand piano, courtyard areas and comfy sitting room All good
- Tiwari (10/5): The best thing of the property was the staff, he was so helpful and best host ever I would say - Everything was so amazing, the place is super cute, very nice and comfortable room and the living area, terrace super nice
- Gina (10/5): Beautiful and quirky, great location! - It felt like a home away from home. Beautiful and quirky, great location. Made to feel welcome. Good value for money. Would have liked some fresh tomatoes at breakfast :)
- cherry (8/5): -
- Malissa (10/5): A perfect home away from home - Buonanotte Garibaldi is a perfect little home away from home in busy Trastevere! My room was lovely with beautiful touches including lovely lamps and a large comfortable bed. As for the shared spaces, they were beautifully decorated with original artwork, antique furnishings, and classical music to soothe the soul. The breakfast room is set up as a perfect family style dining room, with a nice mixture of breakfast offerings including freshly made yogurt. I loved everything about my stay.
- Jeanine (9/5): Delightful - Everything was lovely, the courtyard was an absolute pleasure to take refuge from the bustling streets of Trastevere. Bed was comfortable, staff were super friendly and helpful.. Noa the resident dog is an absolute star❤️
My husband and I found the location very convenient, very comfortable and will happily return on our next visit to Rome. Nothing
- Tim (9/5): Nice quiet getaway - Nice and quiet for being so close to trastevere. Cool old property with amazing bathrooms. Got some weird looks from some older ladies and their art classes 🤣
- Jan_Bjerre_Aagesen (10/5): A true luxury oasis in a busy city - This was truly one of the best experiences we have ever had.
We normally stay at suites at luxury hotels, but this simply took our breath away.
Entering the atrium garden from the street, embraces you with a welcome tranquility after spending time in the beautiful but also busy and noisy Rome..
Greeted by the house dog Noah, a sweet small terrier, makes you immediately feel at home. The house is beautifully and tastefully decorated and has a welcoming ambiance. The Owner Luisa and the always present and very helpful Nalin made our stay perfect. The rooms are VERY nice and the room called Rome has a large private terrace, that just made our stay so relaxing and romantic.
- Jan (10/5): - The ambiance was stunning and entering the courtyard was was a wonderful experience, coming from the busy area. We got the both of both worlds.
Accommodating and super service whilst giving us the possibility to stay on our own terms.
We really felt at home and what a beautiful home..
We hope to be back soon.
- Marko (9/5): -
- Edward (10/5): A quiet and comfortable stay in a prime Rome location - Friendly staff, clean room, and fantastic location.
- Marissa (9/5): Wish I was there for breakfast right now - A vision, a dream Kinda far from main sites
- Valeriya (10/5): - Amazing quiet place with its own little garden.
The hotel is full of vintage finds, beautiful paintings, and classical music softly playing throughout the hall.
The bed and pillows were super comfortable, and the room was clean. The breakfast was delicious. The ambience was something else. There is something special about this place.
This little hotel certainly deserves a stay, and I would love to come back. Nothing at all
- Mark Roberts (10/5): Our 25th Wedding Anniversary stay at Buananotte Garibaldi - perfect - This felt like a home away from home, close to the city centre yet a peaceful oasis amongst the hustle of Rome's busy streets.
Most importantly, the hosts were simply amazing, including the star of the show Noa the dog, we were made to feel like long lost relatives and were totally at ease from the first greeting and smile.
Were looking to return later in the year, thank you for making out short 25th wedding anniversary city break such a lovely experience ❤️ 🙏😄 What was not to like? It was perfect for us ☺️
- Walsh (10/5): Highly recommend staying if looking for a relaxing escape from the craziness of Rome! Such a beautiful property with hig - It was so quiet and tranquil! A perfect escape from the business of Rome! Highly recommend if solo travelling as the staff are all amazing! Nothing!
- Bartek (10/5): Exceptional - please improve coffee
- Magdalena (10/5): Exceptional - A beautiful, elegant and cozy place with artistic character. Wonderfully decorated. My room had a private spacious terrace where you can listen to the birds singing. Very helpful staff ready to reccommend places to see etc. Great place to rest after a hectic day while visiting Rome. Very close to the main attractions but also peaceful and quiet. And... a cute lovely dog completes the whole. I will come back for sure!
- Ivar (8/5): Very good -
- Stephen (10/5): We had a very happy time during Papl celebrations so Rome was busy. BG was a sanctuary. - The aesthetic was fantastic. Even before arriving staff were most helpful when I messed up the booking dates. On arrival we were greeted with warmth and courtesy. Breakfast was just perfect and staff very helpful. We would go back again hopefully soon. Nothing to dislike.
- Olena (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing, cozy, quiet place after long crowds walking through the Roma:)
- Sylvia (10/5): perfect location for an enjoyable stay in Rome - It is a cosy and quiet place where you can perfectly relax after sightseeing. Our room had a big terrace with flowers which we enjoyed a lot. Mr. Nalin was very nice and helpful - big thanks to him! The bathroom was quite small..
- A (10/5): Exceptional - Such a magical little getaway.
Wonderful location- extremely central and yet so peacefully tucked away.
Beautiful interior, with a serene garden, a wonderfully little dog and the most special host and staff.
I would come here again and again; it’s a real gem.
- S (9/5): Superb -
- Cm (10/5): Relaxing, stimulating, peaceful and amazing - Everything … the art, the people, the ambience, the piano, the shady courtyard, the terrace, the location and the delicious options for breakfast. All good
- Øystein (10/5): Exceptional - A beautiful place to stay. Close to everything, perfectly situated in Trastevere. We particularly loved the private rooftop where we had breakfast every morning. The staff was very serviceminded and helpful. Can highly recommend this place. Nothing really
- A8842AClesliem (10/5): A hidden gem in the heart of Trestavere - TBH when I booked this room I didn't realize the place was a B&B which I've not always loved. However, Buonanotte changed my mind, it was wonderful! I had no idea how busy and noisy that part of Rome is yet this place felt like a little oasis. It was quiet, calm, the room was well-appointed, it was almost hard to leave to go exploring! I was there by myself one day, literally not another guest, yet they set out the most wonderful breakfast for me everyday. It's small-only 3 rooms-but if you're solo or a couple I'd highly recommend. Would return in a minute!
- Tere (10/5): Great place to come back to after a day of sightseeing - Loved the location, quiet and peaceful. The staff person "N" was helpful, adjusted to our needs and was friendly. Wish the twin room had a window. Beyond that, no complaints, highly recommend this as a great place to stay As above, would of liked a window. Also a mirror in the room itself, so if a person was using the bath and dressing area, there was an additional mirror.
- Camelia (9/5): Superb -
- Racheal (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jurjees (6/5): Could have done better. - Nice location . Clean room but no windows so a bit claustrophobic. Poor breakfast options.
- Sue (9/5): Superb -
- Gregory (10/5): Very pleasant relaxing stay with a caring host. - A lot of thought gone into the room decoration, lovely lounge area and out door courtyard. Very tentative host. Nothing to dislike
- Camelia (8/5): Very good -
- Tratus (10/5): Exceptional - High level of privacy. A very quiet place with beautiful garden. Great hospitality and the location is fantastic.
- andreasY216LD (10/5): Serene oasis in lively setting - My daughter and I stayed here for 6 days. Once we opened the heavy wooden door and entered the lovely, quiet courtyard, it was as if we were in a different world from the lively Trastevere scene. We found every aspect from the owner's art collection, to the excellent breakfast to be outstanding. We especially loved the private terrace off our bedroom where we could relax after a busy day in Rome. It is well situated and we were able to walk to all attractions and shopping destinations.
- Robert (9/5): Perfect place for a few days in Rome - Quiet enclave from busy Roma in best food area of the city. Taxi and some of the getting to and from property takes some effort cobble stones and luggage are tricky
- Gabriela (8/5): Very good -
- Simon (8/5): Very good - The whole top floor terrace for my own use, peaceful location in a tropical feel environment.
- Peter (10/5): A home away from home - Incredibly peaceful and calm environment
- Stephanie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nicole (6/5): Pleasant -
- Esther (10/5): Exceptional - A true gem in the middle of Trastevere. Tasteful design, elegance, beautiful outdoor space. It was a fantastic breakfast service. The place is artistic and soothing.
- Philipp (9/5): Superb - The property is an oasis of calm in a bustling neighbourhood. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The size of the bedroom was very good for Rome and the bed was very comfortable. The terrace is the highlight. The bathroom in our room felt a bit dated and could do with an upgrade. The room just had a large window door facing the terrace and no further windows. Therefore it was quite dark.
- Howard (8/5): Trestavere is the perfect place to experience and explore all that Rome has to offer. - Perfect location; charming property; wonderful ambience The breakfast was adequate but needs to be upgraded especially considering the room price
- Carlo (10/5): Exceptional - Very nice and quiet location in Trastevere, near to the historic center of Rome.
Very good breakfast.
- Christina (10/5): An absolute gem in Trastevere - Loved everything about the host, staff & property and would definitely stay there again! An oasis, a balm, elegant, full of art, warm & welcoming. Luisa & Nalin were extraordinarily kind to us. It was hard to leave.
- Ms1972 (10/5): A hidden gem in a great location - Excellent place for couples. Great service, Nalin was very attentive to any wills. Incredible location, at the edge of the pedestrian area with a lot of small bars and restaurants, across the river, and at walking distance from the historical center of Rome. Breakfast could have some vegetables.
The price is on the higher side, but it worth it.
- John (3/5): Would choose somewhere else - Great location, huge balcony, comfortable bed, quiet room Very basic breakfast that is the same every day. Very small and dark room with awkward bathroom. No conditioner provided and weak water pressure. Strange vibe to whole place, like staying in someone's house with people living there, but people that don't talk much. Staff member from Sri Lanka was nice.
Not a good value given the high price.
- Basia (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful facility and exceptionally well located on the city map
Very clean
Marvelous garden
One-of-a-kind atmosphere
Very nice service
- Julia (9/5): Gorgeous and original with top tier service. -
- Howard (9/5): Fabulous location - Location, decor Breakfast was decent but could have been improved
- Martin (10/5): A really special place - relaxing, friendly, a quiet green oasis in amongst the hustle and bustle of Trastevere -
- Yuzhu (10/5): Nice place to stay if you come to Rome. - Really nice place to stay! The house is so pretty and the service is warm and nice. I would like to come again.
- GeorgiaPapathomas (10/5): Perfect oasis in Trastevere - We LOVED this B&B in one of the best locations in Rome. The staff were exceptional and very hospitable. Soon as you entered the steel gates after a long day of exploring you instantly felt the tranquility and the welcomeness. We loved every aspect of our experience during our stay. We highly recommend this property and look forward in returning one day!
- 614laceyg (10/5): Amazing experience! - We had a group of three couple's fill up the B&B and had such a wonderful time! Service was amazing, breakfast was wonderful, and you can't beat the location! Was a truly special stay. Very accommodating and wonderful to work with.
- Marius (9/5): Beatiful and unique place in Trastevere - Big bedroom, very clean. Friendly and intimate surroundings. Very friendly staff We had mosquitos of some sort in our room every night, but this was a minor annoyance
- Giovanna (7/5): Very unique hidden gem in wonderful Trastevere. - Little peaceful hidden gem in the middle of the Trastevere excitement and traffic. Close to great restaurants and stores. Staff was very pleasant and extremely helpful. Having to go up and down steps to get into bathroom and shower. Bathroom very small with no room for toiletry bags etc. but we made it work.
- Christina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ian (7/5): Trastevere 4 Buonanotte Garibaldi 2. - Buonanotte Garibaldi is a little hidden gem tucked away in the heart of Trastevere. Very elegantly furnished guesthouse with a restful ambiance. Our room was a good size however, wardrobe space was slightly limited and the amount of furniture in the room made it feel cramped. The bathroom was very small but had an excellent rain shower. But perhaps its finest asset and USP was the adjoining private terrace. This was amazing and left us speechless that it was only accessed by our room. The beds were incredibly comfortable as were the pillows. There was a minibar in the room and to be honest, we emptied this and placed our own purchases from the mini-mart 25 metres away. There was tea and coffee and a kettle provided in the room but sadly no complimentary water! Trastevere is a wonderful part of Rome renowned for its array of excellent restaurants, bars and cafes where you can escape the otherwise frenzy of the historic centre of Rome and tourists. However, its literally across the bridge from the city and a stones throw walk from everywhere you may wish to visit. The river edge has now become alive with bars and restaurants and offers great walks. So really, we couldn't have chosen a more perfect location with Buonanotte Garibaldi. A word of warning though, this area and (with great sadness) many parts of Rome itself have suffered at the hand of the graffiti artists which is often difficult to overlook and hard to swallow. But don't let that take away the fact that Trastevere is a superb place to stay and offers so much, which is why its rapidly becoming more and more popular. The Guesthouse purports to be 4 star, which in any language, demands a touch of class and attention to detail. Sadly we were left unimpressed in a number of areas. The breakfast was bewilderingly limited - slices of cheese, meat and some bread or croissants that didn't feel fresh, some chopped up fruit and yoghurt pots. 4 star it was not! Our host, who was lovely and tried his best, was left to cook (not a trained chef), serve, clean, and act as reception clerk and so long as you wanted scrambled eggs, you were fine. Anything other than this was not on the menu. Another detail sadly lacking was the absence of complimentary water in the room. We used a couple of small bottles from the minibar upon arrival to have a cup of tea. We were charged for these. The hotel was eye-wateringly expensive for our 4 night stay, so the charge for water was a sad reflection at the end of an otherwise pleasant stay. The bathroom was very cramped and the bedroom was quite dark and cluttered with furniture. We did return to the room on a couple of occasions from long days walking around in the sweltering heat of Rome, only to find the air conditioning unit turned off. The old AC unit took a long time to cool the room down. Other small details included, having to ask for fresh towels after 2 days, and to top up the tea and coffee provisions in the room. What the hotel makes up for in terms of the terrace adjoining the room, the very stylishly laid out character of the guesthouse overall and its fantastic location, was let down by the above approach to service and detail. It IS a hidden gem in this gorgeous part of Rome, but for the high price it commands, unfortunately it does not justify its 4 stars.
- Richard (10/5): - Great location, friendly helpful staff, great breakfast
- Philippa (10/5): Wonderful setting and hospitality - Tranquility. Wonderful oasis of calm in fabulous neighbourhood. Would definitely return N/A
- Paul (10/5): - This is an adorable quiet B&B right near Trastevere. It was very convenient to walk to all of the major landmarks in Rome and there were a ton of great dining options nearby. The main staff person was so kind and accommodating and at times I felt like I had the entire place to myself.
- Sonia (8/5): Welcome calm in busy centre - Peaceful oasis in Trastevere. Fabulous private terrace, beautiful spot to hang out among the summer blooms. Comfy bed. Gorgeously decorated with original art and classic furniture. Staff are wonderful, especially Nalin - very friendly and helpful.
Re sustainable practises- love the general approach of investing in quality things and taking care of them, but still offering mini bottles of toiletries.
- Smith (10/5): Absolutely one of the best finds in Rome. - Wonderful staff, beautiful property. Quiet oasis right in the middle of one of Rome’s most interesting neighborhoods. We were so impressed with this hidden gem! Hot water takes a while to get going but stick with it… it works!
- Vincent (10/5): it is a perfect haven to return to after a day spent exploring the city ! - We had a fantastic stay at this little oasis of calm in the heart of a very hectic city. The works of art in the house and ‘tropical - feel’ garden are interesting and unusual. The location is excellent and all the major tourist sites are within walking distance. The area around is a student area and very vibrant with plenty of places to eat and drink amongst the narrow streets and alleyways. The room was large, comfortable and furnished with a great selection of antiques and artworks. The staff were delightful and friendly, especially the gentleman who served at breakfast, which was delicious with a good choice of items. We would definitely stay here again.
- NicholasSH (10/5): A beautiful haven - The beautiful terrace outside the "Chocolate Room" was very special and ensured a lovely stay. It meant that we had a special place to relax and read in the sun with the tourist bustle of Trastevere seeming miles away
- 199ecamacho (10/5): Great! - Superb place, super nice room, great service, yummy breakfast, pleasant patio with lovely decoration, the location is quiet and charming, the owners gave us fantastic tips about restaurants. The prices of art decorating the wall are very original and of famous artists.
- Megan (10/5): Exceptional - Breakfast each morning was amazing. The location was absolutely perfect! The entire property was like a hidden oasis from the streets of Trastevere. I was beyond happy with my stay and experience. There was nothing I didnt like. The whole experience exceeded my expectations.
