Guest Reviews
- Dr xeng (5/5): - Location Unpleasant smell in the room
No spoons even at least one
- Jayde (6/5): Great location but could be better - The property looks good outside. The room i stayed in was very spacious It was advertised as having a tv, there wasnt. The bed was uncomfortable and the pillows paper thin. The heating was on the entire stay so was constantly too warm.
- Curtis (1/5): - Nothing the hotel room wasn't fit for purpose the room was dirty with broken fittings and fixtures and the bathroom sink was broken It was a bad experience we had a get another room somewhere else
- Stephen (5/5): Having read the reviews we were prepared for a basic room so our expectations were low. - Chose the hotel because of its proximity for Manchester Academy. Room 2 was as shown in the photos. The room had been adequately cleaned. The shower worked well with a good supply of hot water. Although we expected a basic room, we also expected tea and coffee making facilities. There was a kettle but the milk was powdered in a caddy as were the coffee and sugar but there was no teaspoon. Electric points consisted of makeshift extension leads with multi plugs. We could not turn off the radiator as the thermostatic valve had no effect and the room became too hot. Windows fasteners were broken.
- Keith (1/5): Worst ever. Like a squat. - Nothing Every thing. Dirty, no staff. Room unlocked with dirty sheets. Untidy, even after checking in time. Left and went somewhere else. Another couple there also did the same.
- Coco (1/5): Terrible. - The price. Absolutely awful stay. The room was clearly not cleaned properly — the headboard was visibly dirty, and there was mold in the shower which is completely unacceptable. The TV wasn’t even usable; the power lead didn’t reach a socket, and after buying an extension just to make it work, we then discovered there was no remote anyway. Basic standards weren’t met at all. Would not recommend.
Oh and I forgot the stain on the sheets and the dip in the bed!

- Anuoluwapo (2/5): Not nice - The bed was okay The area was smelling
- Louise (1/5): Don’t do it, find somewhere else! - There was no breakfast, even though the pictures show a cute little basket… nope you don’t get one. The room was very dirty and needs a full refurbish. The tv didn’t work, bed very uncomfortable. We didn’t shower as the mould put us off and felt like we would have came out even dirtier. Towels had holes in. WiFi didn’t work. Window was broken, panel of glass missing. No staff was present during our visit. We left as early as we could in the morning. Room cost £130 for the night, wanted to charge us an extra £10 per hour for early check in… glad we arrived late! The smell as you enter the building is like someone has died. Pictures are deceiving, edited well or very old.

- Peart (1/5): - Nothing Filthy hotel .
No staff just code for the door given by message.
Tv was broken.
Filthy room , and it stank bad
Old dirty cups and jars of coffee and sugar that had clearly been there months.
All furniture ect was broken.
Bathroom shelf missing just the brackets remaining on wall.
If I had booked a horror themed room I would of been impressed.
I would suggest AVOID at all costs..

- Anthony (8/5): Nice place - The location amd parking Room is quite compact
- Tasnimul (4/5): Could be better - The staff was nice friendly and helpful directed me to my room when I needed help entering the room code The shower didn’t work properly, no toilet light, the toilet seat was broken it looked dirty in the bathroom on the window side
- Victor (4/5): -
- Rosey (10/5): Fantastic - Very comfortable easy access and lots of shoes and things to do in the area Nothing
- Nikolai (1/5): -
- Lopess (1/5): -
- Jordan (4/5): Disappointing - Not much to like. The place didn’t smell very nice, I booked a double deluxe room and arrived to a single double bed, and the location wasn’t the best. As stated above
- Ash (1/5): -
- Jiaxuan (1/5): -
- Tyler (1/5): Didn’t even end up staying here, had to book another hotel on short notice. - This room was so dirty, thick layer of dust on the kettle, stained carpets and walls. There was hair on the nightstand.
- Minas (8/5): - Privacy
- Cheekie2 (1/5): Do Not Stay Here - Nothing Awful place, it was that bad im putting in a complaint, it was dirty, TV didn't work, the lights on the ceiling were flashing which gave me a headache, there was mould in the bathroom, the carpet was filthy, the mattress was stained up and old, it smelt like cat pee, it was the worst hotel ive ever stayed in and certainly not worth £120 for the night.
- Hannah (3/5): An overpriced, unhygienic and unsafe stay that was nowhere near acceptable for £170 a night. - The only positive was that it was easy to get an Uber to leave the property. The room was filthy. There were stains up the walls, skirting boards and door handles, heavily stained carpets, and an overwhelming smell of dog throughout the hotel and inside the room that was almost unbearable. The beds were extremely poor quality, with mattresses that felt cheap and uncomfortable.
None of the lightbulbs worked — I had to remove a bulb from one room just to have a light in another. The shower head did not fit onto the shower, meaning my children had to sit down in a mouldy bath just to wash.
There was a pin left in the headboard where my children were supposed to sleep, which is completely unacceptable and dangerous. Tea bags were left in an open container, cups were dirty, and the kettle was not clean or inviting to use.
If I hadn’t been miles from home and unable to book elsewhere, I would not have stayed.
- Charlotte (5/5): - Location. Was close to the childrens hospital which was the reason for our stay
Clean and reasonably comfortable No tv remote, no staff at all
- Vanessa (7/5): - Text received before arrival with door codes and therefore easy access. No terrestrial tv
- Tiffany (10/5): -
- Elizabeth (10/5): - Always lovely and clean always left little soaps together wash.. never short of towels the rooms are spotless
Staff are great always reply and the hotel is peaceful Nothing

- Aisha (1/5): Horrible experience. I was harassed - The room It happened i was inside my room and after some time, the owner came and he asked me to open the door. I was behind the door and he was pushing the door . He wanted to come inside. He was forcefully pushing the door and trying to come inside. I said you can not come inside. He said i just want to check that everything is okay. I said its ok but you can not come inside. He said i wanted to tell you to not smoke. I was shocked and scared. He harassed me. I have already reported him at customer service. Hope they get some action against him. As soon as he went , i closed the door and i tried to contact the hepl center. They asked me to contact the property and i contacted the property and in the phone, it was the same man who was trying to come inside. When i told him the whole situation, he said let me sort out and dusconnected my call and then he did not call me back. It was a horrible experience. I wish booking. com to take action over that because harassment is totally unbearble and i tried a lot to report him as it is unethical and unbearable. No one deserves this . Please make sure , your security must be your first privacy. If he did this to me, the next can be anyone. So, please be aware of this and investigate before booking your room here.
- Andre (4/5): -
- Ismail (8/5): Decent - Hassle free No heating
- Ian (1/5): Do not stay here. - smelled of wee and weed. dirty bedding and curtains. shower faulty. tv remote missing. no lamps. kettle broke. tea/coffee/sugar/powdered milk solidified, old and in dirty jars. no spoon. decorating sloppy. a sock over the fire alarm. multiple extensions provided for power sockets and they sparked. no staff, all done via WhatsApp.
- Lou (5/5): Comfortable stay staff very helpful - It’s was ok for the price no complaints but bathroom wasn’t the best and toilet wasn’t clean The rooms massively need updating I’d say
- ASHRAF (10/5): -
- Rhys (3/5): Awful - Nouthing. Everything.... like the bad smell when we walked in to reception the room its self was not like the pictures it was awful.
- Hermela (6/5): -
- Soline (3/5): - Comfortable bed Very bad water pressure and wifi was very slow,
- Victoria (1/5): Total nightmare - Nothing Everything it was scruffy hadn’t been cleaned water and hair in shower also half empty shower gel not hoovered at all contact lenses on floor along with stumps hair dirt cobwebs all over disgusting and a disgrace
- Samuella (1/5): -
- Andrew (7/5): Lovely hotel, with great value for money and convenience. Will stay again. - Value for money of The Milverton is excellent, and having a door code to come and go as you please is very convenient. I love the character of the building too, the arched interior doors are a great feature. We were in the attic room and it felt very cosy indeed. There didn't seem to be any staff on hand, but having a door code does mean you may not need anybody. We didn't mind at all, but it might not be for everyone if you like a personal touch. Again though, this is reflected in the price and it's hard to argue with.
- Shiba (1/5): Not stay - I like good condition room and hotel It’s too much smell
Owner is too much rude
- Remi (7/5): -
- Patrick (8/5): -
- Eirini (5/5): not bad - the person responsible was answering my texts very quickly so communication was great. I was even allowed to check in an hour before. the room was the attic so it had the exposed wood on the sealing. no issue with that as i like attics, the issue was that the wood is infected with the wood eating worm so all night i was hearing the noise of the worm munching away the wood. very annoying and bad for the building
- Will (5/5): - Was quiet No television in room when advertised as having television holes in towel
- Monty (1/5): -
- Ali (5/5): -
- Banerjee (2/5): - The only good thing about the place was that I could find it's location. We came to Manchester for a match and got to the hotel late, there was no water in the room. I believe providing drinking water should be a basic amenity. There was no shower curtain and bathroom was filled with water and in such cold weather there was no heating in the room ( heater wasn't working). Also, it would have been nice to to have a someone in the reception, atleast in the morning to address our concerns.
- Bridge (1/5): I left after 2 hours - No TV, no heating, smelly, dirty, damp
- Morais (5/5): Just to sleep, not to enjoy that much - The password access to everyone The smell of the property(smells food)
The furniture has a bad smell as well
I didn’t get to see any people from the staff. Everything was by phone. There was no one to receive me or guide me.
- James (5/5): Good location for academy but probsbly wouldn't stay again - Bed was comfy and clean, bathroom was clean, good location for Manchester academy. No remote for TV, massive damp patch on carpet, painting on walls was very slap dashand poor quality, very little head room around the bed with it being in a gable, springs in mattress were very noisy. Not a bad place just to rest your head but probsbly not worth what we paid
- Sam (1/5): Contacted hotel to complain but no response. - DO NOT GO THERE! Awful hotel. Totally ripped off with the price. Ripped stained bedding. Tv didn’t work. No coffee or sugar. Ripped bathmat. Dirty shower tray. Curtains hung back to front to hide the stains and holes. Door didn’t close properly so felt very unsafe in the room. Surprised a room like this is on Booking.com EVERYTHING INCLUDING THE PRICE
- Donas (1/5): Terribile. Da evitare. - Niente Tutto
- Uthman (1/5): -
- Ehsan (1/5): Disgusting, Filthy, Nasty, Atrocious & Horrible. These are just some of the words to describe this place. If you’re - Leaving the Property. The entire property.
- Jack (7/5): -
- Khurshid (1/5): Avoid at all cost - Only parking No proper communication
Booked room different and recived completely different
Very disappointed with the service
No staff at property
No heater working in the room
No extra duvet
No baby couches
- Ricky (1/5): -
- Mark (1/5): If I could have found a different hotel on the night I would have moved hotel - Not much at all It’s was so poor and dirty, rooms was not looked after at all, I paid over £100 for the night and I have stayed in better youth hostel.
- Billy (3/5): - Space of shower and toilet cumfy bed No tv
No condiments
No staff
- Marcus (4/5): -
- Tim (3/5): Disappointing - The bed was quite comfy and the bathroom was clean No one on reception - got a key code to get into the building and my room. The room was cold and I asked for an additional heater and that the battery was low on the room key pad which I messaged but no one got back to me, got to a point where it took me numerous attempts to get into my room.
- Jeff (2/5): - It had a bed and a bathroom Room was unclean and brought some food with us that got eaten by something in the room
- chris (1/5): - Absolutely nothing. The rooms were nothing like the photos in the ad. Dirty sticky floor, beer bottle in corner so clearly not been cleaned properly. The bath light was stuck so fan on all night. Even tho one light was hanging by the wire and the other flickered. No shower curtain! Tea/coffee facilities included lumpy powdered milk, and the kettle lid was broken so a health & safety risk! No tv. When we ch3cked in the door lock code register low battery, we spoke to the girl on the desk who called her manager and they didn't even pick up. So she would have been on her own in an emergency, really inspires confidence. Booking.com are complicit in not vetting adverts, and should be ashamed to advertise this dump under false pretences. Would like my money back please. Worst "hotel" I've stayed in for years and I stay in a lot of hotels. AVOID AVOID!! Everything noted above.
- Mario (4/5): - Struttura esterna carina All'ingresso puzza assurda di non so che cosa
Camera all'apparenza pulita.
Cuscino sporco, asciugamano strappato su due lati e con macchie di sporco
- John (1/5): - N/A Location and appearance
- Corrie (1/5): Horrific conditions - The building was totally disgusting, the code only worked once on the bedroom so 1 of us had to be in there at all times, the entire place was bitter cold, and dirty.
We quite literally will never stay again
The shower didnt even work Nothing
- Solange (1/5): - The location and the option of free parking The property failed to provide basic safety and hygiene.
I had a rat climbing on me and shower didn't work
- Sandra (1/5): This hotel should be your last option!!! - Nothing If you read all the bad reviews, every single word is true. Nothing else to be said!
- Kasia (1/5): Waste of money. DO NOT STAY THERE!!! - Nothing ro like. The only good think was a location close to Apollo o2 arena, but Traveloge would be much better and even closer. Mouldy bathroom, rusty bin, no handle in a toilet brush, lack of shelf under the mirror in the bathroom, no hairdryer, no remote, one cup in double room, old powdered milk, bad painting, holes, scruffy looking and not looked after room, dirty carpets, smelly and dirty area outside the room, extension cables fitted to a wall, hole inside bedside cabinet.
I called and politely requested remote control and 2 cups. After 20 minutes of waiting l decided to get something to eat. When l was back cups were there but no remote control or information left, so l had to call again to ask what happened.
I felt like people who running the place do not care at all about the building and customers. WAY TOO EXPENSIVE FOR SERVICE!!!
In the main entrance on a left is old completely destroyed area.
- Davies (4/5): Was very clean. No milk. No staff. No reply when messaged. - The location was good. Room was clean. Bed was fine. Tea making facilities were poor. There wasno milk. There was some lumpy powdered stuff which i assume was supposedto be powdered milk YUCK! Also there was no spoon. As for staff there wasn't any. We had a phone number to call to book in. After that we were on our own. We messaged him about a spoon and was completely ignored. The room is nothing like the pictures. I was disappointed. I would never stay there again. But it was very clean though. No milk. No spoon. No staff at all. WiFi was very spotty. Table was wobbly, there was a reason it was against the wall. If you just want a bed for the night then it's not a bad place.
- Lillian (7/5): -
- Anna (7/5): - Hallway very musty smelling leading up to rooms.
Bed was comfortable bedding clean and nice big towels provided.
location very good for catching an uber to the o2 Apollo which was the purpose of our visit.
Comms good from proprietor to get in& out of property
Would have been nice to have actual little milks provided instead of powder.
Tv did not work at all as no batteries in the remote control and could not access anything from the actual Tv (so my daughter wasn’t very happy about that 😕)
Actual room and bathroom quite nice but could me made a lot nicer with little touches like new lamp shades as we had an attic room which was nice and quirky ( room 8)
Could hear that the Toilet was dripping all the time after been flushed but was ok once bathroom door was shut.
Price was very very good though… so given all the above with the good and bad it served its purpose for one night.
- Gintare (10/5): -
- Gintare (10/5): -
- Danielle Swailes (9/5): - Easy to access.
Clean and tidy.
Good value for money
- Chloe (8/5): - Clean and a very comfortable bed
- Nasser (5/5): -
- Włóka (1/5): Not recommended - Nothing at all! Horrible place, dirty and smell bad.
- Zahra (8/5): -
- Arman (10/5): -
- Nicholas (1/5): Left feeling dirty and disappointed - The heating works No staff at the property, was very dirty when you walk into the property.we couldn’t sleep in the bed the springs were coming through the mattress, there was stains all around the sheets and burn holes all over the bedding, the bathroom has mold around the shower and the floor was covered with dirt and dead flies.
The WiFi didn’t work the tea and coffee was old and the powered milk was dirty, it had 2 extension cables which also didn’t work properly .
We left feeling very dirty and disappointed couldn’t stop itching and had bite marks on us ,for a 150.00 we expect better ,photos of the room must be from the 80s and not at all like we found .
We recommend you don’t visit. Will only let me show you a few of the photos that we took
- Adu (8/5): In summary it was not bad - Quiet and neat Well I don’t know how compulsory to serve tea ingredients, but there was no sugar
- Harry (9/5): -
- MARK (1/5): I have to leave the bathroom door opened for the bedroom light reflection, it was very disappointing - Location I booked a room with a flat screen tv but there was no tv in the room when I got there and there was no light in the bathroom, I called them to complain about the tv not in the room because I wanted to watch the England match, the guy said he was going to send the maintenance man to come give me a tv and fixed the light in the bathroom, until I left the place this morning no one turn up or even call me back for any updates, I think it’s very wrong to advertise your business in booking.com and not keep to your promises, I will never go back to that hotel again,
- Jake (4/5): For a one night stay it served its purpose but I did not feel clean in the room. - It was easy to find and served a good purpose for where I needed to be for my trip. The bed, was actually pretty comfortable but that may have been helped by the fact that I was very tired. The doors were not soundproof, you could hear everyone and everything, the cleanliness of the rooms was questionable and the towels were ripped/seen better days (luckily I took my own) the tv didn’t work and the bedding smelled a lil funky.
Also one of the staff members was drunk late at night and was very creepy and asked a guest to ‘come into my room’.
- Oliver (5/5): - It was in a great location It was dirty
- natasha (1/5): Absolutely horrific wannabee Bates Hotel. Foul and should be condemned - The bed linen and towels appeared clean This is a disgusting abandoned hotel that has filthy flooring, non working bathroom lights, questionable powerpoints, inconsistent and weak wifi, is draughty and cold, with insufficient bedding, no side lamp and no staff accessible. The listed facilities include a TV with no connection and the absence of even a tea spoon , water or milk with the non descript jars of apparent hot drink supplies. Despite a text providing an access code and notices suggesting a whatsapp number if there are problems there was no response or reply to multiple attempts to contact anyone and it was a frightening experience to tolerate a night in this appalling space.
- Alison (2/5): One night was enough - Floors were dirty, beeping doors, no staff, broken window, noisy dripping toilets,
- kate (3/5): Average for the price we paid but incredibly disappointing and falsely advertised! Do not recommend! - It was cheap Wifi didn't work, no hair dryer (which was advertised), no staff, no milk or any cutlery, few tea bags and stale coffee, very falsely advertised from the pictures, tv was unplugged and when we turned on did not work (no batteries in remote), cables weren't long enough to reach any sockets so had to move the extension cable around the room, paint job was terrible all over the room, bed was very uncomfortable and mattress made a terrible squeaking noise and the whole room was just scabby and disappointing.
