• Mark (8/5): - This is a great fine right next to the Canal Street Streetcar. Great stay for a great price.
• Denise (6/5): - The place is not what we expexted. I would wouldnt stay there as a solo woman. It didn't feel terribly secure. There is no staff there and we had issues getting into our room. One step up from a hostel. Nice neighbourhood, on the tram line was convenient. We had to book short botice as our other place cancelled with no notice, so it was ok.
• Erin-Mai (6/5): - The property was cool! The room we stayed in was in the “basement” area. It was freezing cold but the window unit eventually got it at a comfortable temperature in the room, however the bathroom was freezing and taking showers was uncomfortable. The only complaints we had was- There was no shower curtain The coffee pot is not the right size for the machine so did not work The mini fridge is either freezing cold or hot so beware, drinks will explode.
• Tom (6/5): NOLA stay - The stay was good except for the fact that they left me with dirty and stained bedsheets. So unclean I had to run to Walmart and buy my own sheets on the first day so I could sleep comfortably. Besides that, it was good. Perfect location, close to all the main attractions in New Orleans.
• Mia (6/5): - It was just a room nothing special. It's in an older house so the walls are thin you can here your neighbor's. We were there for the Bayou Classic so it was convenient and reasonably priced. Its close to the trolley which was nice getting to and from Canal street.
• Taronza (2/5): Mouse/Rat in my room - 2 hours after arrival a mouse/rat jumped on my friend and started running around on the night stand by her bed. It ran around the room on the floor, on her purse, and phone that was on the night stand. I had to call twice before we were located to another room and told that someone would arrive first thing the next morning to retrieve the belongings left behind. Ultimately I asked another guest that I saw outside to retrieve our left behind belongings. I asked to be compensated for the first night only and I have yet to here from anyone. It has now been over a week and I've called several times. I was also asked to take pictures for evidence so I recorded a video. We were moved to another room on a different floor that wasn't as large or nice as the original room. The 2nd room also wasn't as clean as it should have been. The customer service reps that I spoke with were nice and sympathetic to the situation but beyond that they couldn't do anything other than say someone will contact me which never happened to this day.
• Crystal (8/5): - The property was listed 2 miles from Bourbon and was pretty much directly across from a trolley stop which made commuting easy. The property is an older property so it smelled old. A piece of the floor was damaged. The beds were comfortable. The temperature of the water was great along with the water pressure. The ceiling fan needs dusting and the shower head could also use some cleaning. The outdoor seating area was great, just couldn't find the switch to turn on the porch fan.

• Audra (10/5): - Lovely room, nice cozy bed with microwave coffee pot and fridge. Beautifully appointed. Could have used a chair or love seat to sit on while watching TV instead of having to sit or lay on the bed. Close to public tram and restaurants. Loved our stay.

Instructions for arrival and departure were pretty straight forward. Coffee shop and restaurant 2 blocks away which was a plus. Quiet for the most part except for the birds chirping outside the windows and the occasional loud vehicle driving alongside the property

As a single women I would probably not stay here alone again, as someone knocked on my door for an hr starting at 2:30AM However, I thought it was a lovely home and absolutely would recomend it to a couple on a budget that wants to be close to the Jazz Fest or any other New Orleans activities!

• Dennis (4/5): - The building has been renovated and is a beautiful place. Keypads to enter the building and our room made access easy. The remote control for the television was for a different tv and the space was smaller than the photos indicated. However, the worst part was a fight that broke out on the floor below us. It appeared to be a domestic dispute. It escalated rapidly and I called the only number that was given to us. It was the Hosteeva customer service number located in CA. We were in NOLA. She said she would call the property manager that was located in town and I requested that she call me back so I would know it was reported. We never heard back from her and no one reached out to us to follow up. Considering their rules for noise are clearly stated on signs in the house, we found it very unnerving that they clearly do not enforce their rules and there is no property manager nearby. There are at least 14 rooms in the building. The only two that were occupied appeared to be ours and the one below us where the dispute took place. It was extremely unsettling and we felt unsafe.

• Alfred Butler, (2/5): - This place was disgusting. It smelled awful like mold and it was filthy! The moment we walked in, we walked out and requested a refund. They did not refund the first night but did refund the rest of the trip. All that being said, I have to say that Expedia was excellent in helping us communicate with the host.

• Iwona (10/5): - The hotel is located in a beautiful and quiet neighbourhood. Our room was large, beautiful and nicely decorated. It even had a fireplace! It felt more like home rather than a hotel. We loved it!
• DEMETRA A (8/5): - Property was clean and neat it gives you a cozy vibe. I like the hardwood floors and the high ceilings the location was great for the events that we were going to attend. Transportation on the trolley or Uber Lyft we're available. The internet service didn't work the whole time I was there we couldn't get a connection the router needs to be checked throughout the building.

• Wendi (4/5): - There were raccoons living in the attic above the bed. They were extremely noisy at night and unnerving, they kept waking us up. I called to report this and asked that they check it out but they never did. Also we went almost 24 hours with no hot water. The area seems OK but the first day we were there one of the other guests had their car stolen from right off the street and another’s was broken into.

• Rory (8/5): - Lovely house. The outdoor porch area was very nice and the room itself was lovely. Only real complaints were that the A/C unit in our room was very loud and the shower never really got hot.
• Todd (4/5): Make sure hot water is fixed - get remodeled unit - The location and the house itself were great. The room we got was not renovated like all the pictures online were. We had very little hot water which was the main problem with the unit. We were there for 3 nights and the hot water was never repaired and we were told they were having problems with hiring people..not our problem. We just wanted a hot shower. We had to fight to get a refund which we got $150 after having to remind them several times that they agreed to refund us.
• eric (10/5): - Nice place to stay in NOLA. Far enough away from the French Quarter to be nice and quiet but close enough to get there with a nice ride on the trolly that runs right in front of the property.

• Lisa Eddyvean (8/5): - Good location. The tram is right there. The building is older. Our room had a few soft spots in the floor that felt like you were going to step through it. The floors were not very clean. Beds were comfortable. I'd stay here again.

• Lisa (2/5): Smelly dirty mess - Dirty, has sewer gas smell, sheets were pulled, no handles on sink, no soap, no blanket. COVID-19 practices weren’t implemented. No bath mat for slippery tile, entire house smelled, air conditioner on floor with tube going out window was noisy.

• brandy (2/5): This place is a nightmare! - I arrived on the day of check-in, I walked upstairs to my room and it was hotter than an attic!! I carried all of my luggage up a very long stairway and could not even get into my room! The code on the door lock was not working and I called customer service and they were very unconcerned with my problem! They simply said they would call building management and would not even give me an answer to how long I was waiting! By the way when I was on the phone I complained about the excessive heat and they were also unconcerned about that!!the thermostat in the hallway was registering 91° and it was obvious the air conditioning was not working! After two and a half hours I was able to gain access to the room, it was so hot in there and all there was was a small AC floor unit with like a dryer vent coming from the window, it was putting out no air compared to the excessive heat! I turned on the ceiling fan above the bed in hopes of circulating some air. The ceiling fan wobbled so much that it seemed at any time it was just going to come flying off! So once again I called the office and notify them there was no way I could stay here that it was inhabitable, they did not resolve my problem the Lady Diana that I talked to was putting me on mute and totally ignoring everything I was saying. I had to end up spending more money to book a 10-day stay somewhere else! I am going to have to get a lawyer because they refuse to give me a refund. This place is hell!
• Verified traveler (6/5): - Nice neighborhood, close to the streetcar, fairly safe. Pretty nice room, big bed, comfortable. What I didn't like: my room was right off the porch, the porch where people tended to congregate after spending the night partying, and without being intentionally obnoxious tended to wake me up at around 4 in the morning. Also the TV didn't work — the batteries need to be replaced in the remote, and there needs to be some better explanation as to how to work the convoluted controls. I'm not even that concerned with TV but it's nice to be able to keep track of what's happening in the world.

• Verified traveler (2/5): - When arriving, the room was dirty still from previous renters. Trying to contact the number given, the phone kept disconnecting unless selecting that we were the owners. Then we finally got switched to another room, which had multiple faucet issues and were required to switch back to the other room the next day after it was clean, which ultimately delayed our day in New Orleans. Very disappointed and will not go back or recommend.
• Verified traveler (2/5): Total dump. Not a hotel. Hosteeva is a joke - I booked this ‘hotel’ for myself and my girlfriend, only to find out it’s not a hotel. It’s someone’s house that had been divided into multiple private rooms. It was poorly maintained. There was no remote to operate the tv, which would only operate with a remote (only a power button on the tv). There was no heat in the room either. It was in the upper 40’s. There is no one onsite to help. No front desk. There’s only a number to call. I was laughed at on the phone and told there was nothing they could do. No joke, the lady laughed almost uncontrollably for a few minutes and told me she’d had a long day. We moved to an actual hotel at our inconvenience. This was my first and last experience with Hosteeva. Stay away from this place if possible...

• Norman (2/5): No thanks - Homeless guy living on the common area (front porch) who slept there every night of our stay called hosteeva aka the property management company & they told me to call the cops not that they would handle it but for ME to call the police... Light bulbs in room completely burned out holes in wall dirty sheets... Not impressed at all would never recommend

No room service, so you will need to dump garbage at some point. Good area, close to where we needed to go (which was mostly outside of the Quarter). Would recommend hotel most for people visiting NOLA, but not looking for a touristy area.

• Russell (4/5): - Black mold around the window. Dust around the airconditioner & fulter needed changing. No local channels on the tv. Miniblinds broke. Put a queensize bed in there so one could get in/out from both sides. Wish I'd taken pictuues. On the postive side it was close to the rail stop & instructions for the locks were easy.
• Robert (10/5): Has all the essentials - It was a decent place. No front desk but the service over the phone was good. Everyone we spoke to was polite. The building is old and could use some tlc but overall we were happy with the place.
• Verified traveler (4/5): - NOT KID FRIENDLY. My husband and son were in New Orleans for a Jr High competition and wanted a place close to Jesuit High. The entire place reeked of marijuana, so bad that it burned my husband's eyes. There was no check in desk. Whoever he talked with failed to address his concerns. He ended up leaving and staying at the Fairfield Inn about 10 miles away. This is probably a nice place to stay if you enjoy recreational drugs. We will be sticking to major chain hotels in the future.
• Verified traveler (8/5): - It is conveniently located: there are nice restaurants and grocery stores nearby, and it is on Canal street, one of the main streets where you can take a streetcar to downtown. The place is clean and cozy. The room is well lit and provides a microwave, a tv with free Netflix, a mini-fridge, and a hair dryer. The microwave and the mini-fridge helped a lot. The bed is big and comfy, although the comforter is a little weird--it's not contained in a case. The only thing that bothered me when I was there was the noise. The walls and floors were so thin you could hear everything outside and upstairs. When the person upstairs moved around, the noise was enormous. The staff was pretty responsive though.

The electrical outlet in the bathroom did not work when I tried to blow dry my hair it flipped a fuse and my husband had to search the building to find the breaker box and resolve the issue because Hosteeva couldn’t get the maintenance man out until after 9 am the following day and this was around 7 pm , thankfully my husbands rather handy otherwise we’d had been in the dark from 7pm until the sun came back up but the room itself would had been without power until after 9 am . Our bathroom had what looked like mold on the ceiling , the trim from the sink vanity was coming off the wall and the ceiling leaked , out toilet paper was old and brown and had looked like it had gotten wet and left to dry , there were four unopened rolls under the bathroom sink that all looked the same way , our bedroom had two windows one to the outside that was fine , however the additional window faced the outside hallway (whos lights did not cut off ) had a cheap set of blinds covering it that were quite a bit to “short” leaving a cap for someone to see in directly in front of our bed , we wound up moving the desk we had and removing a picture off the wall and standing it on our luggage to cover the window so a we could sleep without a light in our face and b.) prevent anyone from seeing in the room . • GeauxTigers (8/5): - The property was very nice, clean & decorated nicely; very modern. The front door & each room required a code to enter. I didnt know how to look our room foor back but i figured it out. The bed was clean, soft and comfy. The bathroom was a little small but ok. Plenty of hot water for the shower. The sink needed a counter. The only thing i did'nt like was waking up to a couple next door that were arguing loudly. I complained to the owner and they apologized. The property is 3 blocks from stores and other businesses; 10 min from downtown area with access to the trolley. I didnt have to drive anywhere.

• Verified traveler (10/5): - The apartment was spacious and and had a large bathroom. It was in a quiet location but only a couple of minutes walk to the nearest street car (tram) stop so it was very easy to get to the French Quarter where most of the night life is.

• Robert (6/5): My stay here was - Lets start with a window that lead to an hallway that people if going by can look into the room and nothing but light comes through as you try to sleep. Mold on the wall, electric socket loose, jet tub cover for electric open, and last but not least bitten by fleas. Now with that don't know if they were already there or came in through the AC when it was off due to the wooded area outside the main window

• Verified traveler (8/5): - It was a great location, great price...could've used *a lot* more cleaning in both rooms & common areas, but not horrible. Easy-peasy location one block from streetcar to downtown/French Quarter/riverfront (15-20 minutes or so). There's lots of bars/restaurants/stores within easy walk. Breakfast Suggestion: Wakin' Bakin' (4408 Banks St)

• Jon (6/5): Would Give Booking using Hosteeva -Terrible Servic - What a Nightmare bookingwith hotels.com and them using Hosteeva! Upliad driving license. .. wait for text... but is ID check fails yoy wait for ever! Place itself is OK but overpriced like everything else around. Coffee provided in the room is great.
• Verified traveler (6/5): - We were told that we could have a free early check-in as long as there was nobody staying the night before. When I called again the day of, they said there was a fee. Floor was pretty dusty and bathroom kept flooding and is difficult to dry.
• PattiA (8/5): - The Garden Jet tub was plus! Knobs are broken but everything still works great. Very clean and comfortable with lots of room. Maybe a mirror in the room to use while someone else is in the bathroom. I definitely felt I was on vacation with the comforts of home. We will be back. Also, maybe move the smokers away from our ac. I put the fan on and it sucked in their smoke. Room GL105. Maybe redo the coffee set up. Hard to fill the coffee pot. But that’s is as bad as it gets. All in all an absolutely wonderful quiet relaxing place to stay.
• Bryan (10/5): Feels like home while you're on the road - Highly recommend Canal Express Studios. Centrally located, ease of access, accommodations, and service were exceptional. This the second time staying here and I will certainly be back. It was even within walking distance of my favorite burger spot, FIVE GUYS!
• Verified traveler (8/5): Nola vaca - It was good. Fridge was frosted up and door wouldnt close when arrived had to put in shower n defrost with hairdryer. TV was very confusing couldn't figure out how to get local weather channel everything was HBO or roku which needed a password n last night couldnt watch at all due to internet connect. Front of the place need a lot of tlc. Doesnt look like the pics on line at all. Overall we made the best of it. Location was convenient
• Verified traveler (8/5): - Room was enormous and bed was really comfortable! The location was good, and pretty close to the race track. The room was really hot at check-in, and had to crank AC for hours to make if comfortable. The main lights didn't work, so we had to hunt for the lamp switch in the dark.

• Morgan (8/5): It was pretty good... but the flies... - Great little spot for a nice price. It was a bit further from everything than I would have hoped, but I ended up being fine with getting out of all of the action that surrounded Jazz Fest. I was able to call the reservation desk and check in early and leave late, they even let me keep my bags in my old room for a couple of hours after we checked out. We arrived very early and they shared info on where I could pay to store my bags until the previous people had checked out. nice touch when they weren't able to accommodate. The porch rocks and there is a coffee place just 2 blocks down. My issues - We both struggled with the temp at night. The room felt cold but very humid and we both found ourselves sweaty and cold at night... weird. The sun BEATS down on room 209 during the day it gets very hot, but we were gone so we didn't really care. Please get some curtains to keep out the sun. I woke up with the sun every single day (6 AM) because there was nothing to keep it from beaming in on my face. The coffee pot is in a place where it could never reach a plug but that was an easy fix. I am not about to complain about coffee in a room. It would be nice to have a full length mirror outside of the bathroom so I could get ready while my spouse showered. Lastly... The MASSIVE horse flies. They all decided to show up on the day we were leaving. There were 9 buzzing around by the time we left. My spouse had bites on his legs... I know you guys cant do much about this, but PLEASE try.
• Verified traveler (2/5): - The room was filthy. The bed slopes towards headboard. The bedsheets old and nasty. Used toilet paper and filth underneath area carpet. We end up moving out and stayed at the Pelham Hotel downtown. We are requesting for Expedia to refund our money we paid to stay in this disgusting Hotel.
• Verified traveler (10/5): - We found the property to be lovely, our room was spacious and clean, the neighborhood was nice and quiet with 24 hour street car service just one block in either direction, and custy service was excellent.
• Verified traveler (2/5): - They canceled my reservation for invalid pay method and refused to review my card numbers with me. I called my bank and confirmed that no attempt to charge my card had been made, and he still refused to review my card numbers with me. In the meantime, he allowed someone else to book our room.
• Verified traveler (2/5): AC and toilet didn't work--run by Hosteeva--beware - Run by out of the country (or so it appears from their customer service) Hosteeva. Promised a local manager 24/7 to fix things. However air conditioning was completely inadequate to cool the upstairs room we were in when it was 85 degrees outside--we were roasting indoors at night. They said they sent someone to fix it--but was worse when we returned the second evening. The toilet also stopped flushing after the third try, and they were unable to get someone to come and fix it. They did find us another place to stay, but we had to find and pay for our own Uber and move late at night which did not feel safe to do.
• Craig (8/5): A Charming Place - The house was truly amazing. It had a historical presence. It was very clean and comfortable. It was charming. The trolley is just across the street making it easy to get into the heart of town. I would definitely stay again. There was a huge bathtub too however I couldn’t figure out how to turn on the shower so we just took baths like the old days, no problem.

• alana (10/5): Amazing price, view, and location! - This place is an older vistoris era house that has been turned into multiple rooms. The rooms are so beautiful, comes with a TV with Roku and YouTube, as well as two large dressers to store clothes in. The bathroom was good and clean, only complaint there was the toilet handle was broken so it would randomly run, as well as the shower water being sorry of inconcistant, the water gets VERY hot and Very cold at the switch of the knob, even a slight one then it evens out. But honestly those two things were so minor that I didn't mind at all. I loced the decor of our room, simple and rustic. This area is also right along the canal Street car so very close and convienct. Would definitely stay here again!
