There’s not really any choice in where to eat and it was good too, basically pizza. At around 17-20 CHF it gets pricey.

Gaby (4/5): - Locatie is geweldig voor het uitzicht. Het hotel lijkt goed maar vergis je niet. De kamers boven zijn zo gehorig dat je letterlijk ieder hoestje van je buren hoort alsof ze naast je liggen. De badkamer die de gasten zonder eigen badkamer moeten delen ligt naast een kamer, waar wij zaten, ieder druppeltje is hoorbaar alsof het naast je gebeurt. Bedden zijn planken met matrassen zo hard en dun dat de lattenbodem eronder voelbaar is. Ontbijt zou van 6.00 tot 9.00 uur zijn. We hebben vanaf 6.30 tot 7.25 gewacht. Toen ging er eindelijk een deur open. Zonder schaamte en excuses moesten we nog 5 minuten wachten. Wij hebben de sleutel ingeleverd en zijn weggegaan zonder ontbijt.

Monique (8/5): - Als je per ongeluk de juiste afslag mist ben je aangewezen op een heel smalle en gevaarlijke bergweg. Bij het hotel geen parkeerplaats wel verder in het dorp. Verder uitstekend! Schoon eenvoudig maar goed ontbijt en goede douche en heerlijke pizza’s in het restaurant! Prachtig uitzicht
Keith (10/5): - Luckily we arrived in daylight, as the road up to the Osteria zig-zagged in impossible hairpins up from the valley. It's possible that after dark and unlit we might just have turned around and headed for somewhere flat. However, if we had done we would have missed a completely unique experience. The hamlet of Anzonico clings to the side of an Alp and there is no vehicle access to the Osteria. Parking is in a lay by about 50 yards further up. Having walked back with our luggage, we were greeted by Claudia, the proprietor, who showed us straight to our room, a snug little space under the main building. It had a lobby and a decent sized bathroom, but not much room around the large comfortable bed. We booked a table on the terrace for dinner and once the dog had been walked around town, we sat down to enjoy a meal in one of the most spectacular locations ever. Claudia served us delicious spritzes, before the day's special menu of fresh salad, fried cheese and bacon pasta and chicken in a cream sauce, finished off with a torta del pane, a variety of bread and butter pudding. We drank local red wine. As we dined, the darkness crept slowly up the valley. We slept well and managed to get a table at the edge of the terrace for breakfast (fresh bread, jam, local cheese and coffee) where we were dazzled by the light changing on the mountain opposite. Claudia was again polite, helpful and though not fluent in English, spoke enough for us to easily understand. A unique experience.

n c (8/5): Charming hillside osteria / hotel - A very charming osteria / hotel in a hillside location. The route up was not for the faint hearted - narrow road with lots of switchback turns, but worth it. The room was modest, but with lovely terrace with mountain views. Evening menu was limited but food was excellent, followed by very pleasant walk around the quaint village. Overall, quite pricey but very relaxing overnight stay.

Het ontbijt was heel matig en de kamers gehorig. Een familiekamer was wel heel fijn. Prima voor doorreis maar verwacht niet teveel. Bediening super vriendelijk, zelfs het zoontje werkte goed mee.

Eine sehr schöne Übernachtung mit traumhafter Aussicht und mit Abstand die beste Pizza außerhalb von Napoli. Sehr nette und freundliche Betreiber. Auf jeden Fall einen Besuch wert.

The staff was very kind and helpful. The bathrooms were shared but clean and well kept. We had a good night of sleep and a refreshing breakfast. If you are not used to drive in the mountains the road to reach here is quite scary.

Shukin (6/5): SK - Nach einer langen kurvenreichen Bergstraße kamen wir zu einem überraschend netten Hotel. Das Essen schmeckt gut aber die Portion ist zu klein, was den Preis zu teuer macht. Bei der Zahlung wird die Rechnung in Euro geschrieben, steht aber auf der Speisekarte, bei der Buchung des Hotels handelte es sich um Schweizer Franken,natürlich haben wir auch CHF bezahlt. Im Allgemeinen ist es ein gutes Wanderhotel.

Verified traveler (4/5): Niet meer naartoe gaan - De voorzieningen zijn minimaal. Een glas of een beker was zelfs niet aanwezig in de badkamer. Er was slechts ruimte voor 1 nachtkastje. Het hotel is alleen te bereiken via een zeer steile en ook nog eens erg smalle weg met veel haarspeldbochten.

We werden alleen weggestopt op een zolderkamertje met als toegang een gammel trapje dat voor ons als 65-plussers een hindernis was. Toilet en wasgelegenheid op de gang met onder ons een ruim bezet kindergezind die deze voorziening nogal blokkeerden.

Het zijn hele kleine kamertjes maar prima voor een overnachting als je op de doorreis bent. Schitterend gebied. Je zit op bijna een kilometer hoogte dus een mooi uitzicht over de bergen.

Verified traveler (6/5): Motorcycling in Switzerland / Short-term booking - We booked the accommodation on short notice the same day on a motorcycle tour. The host was very friendly, nice restaurant with an 3-course evening menue. Value for money concerning the dinner was OK (25 CHF), considering the local price level in Switzerland. The hotel room was very small and at souterrain, rather cold and much to our astonishment, there was no heating whatsoever (which is kind of a no-go in fall, winter and early spring, considering the altitude of the location and low temperatures at night). The accommodation was clean however. The main disappointment was the breakfast served - some 5-6 pieces of cutted baguette, 1 piece of cheese for 2 persons (!!!), and two tiny cups of yelly - the coffee was fine. We asked for some more cheese and bacon, got two little sandwich pieces served which were charged with additional 14 CHF. Ridiculous!

It´s in a village with around 1000 population, you barely see anyone in the streets, I presume it will be boring for long stays but for short stay to be away from busy towns, definitely worth it. The road to the hotel a little scary, you have to drive a long road up the mountain and there is space for only one car,, What I did not like: the food from the restaurant was extremely expensive and there was no menu.. the lady there told us the menu, we made our order and long story short it was the most expensive food I have ordered in my life. A written menu would be preferable to avoid surprises.

Road (8/5): Lovely little b&b in picturesque village. - Anzonico is a beautiful little village full of attractive chalets. We drove up a very narrow, extremely windy road to reach it. There was a slightly bigger, also very windy road which we took to get back down to the main road. Osteria Anzonico is a pretty building and our room had a balcony with great views of the mountains. The owners were very welcoming. It was very quiet when we were there at the beginning of June, with just a few other guests and the restaurant menu was very limited, but the food was very fresh and well-cooked and we enjoyed our meal. A group of locals were there having pizzas and there was a nice atmosphere as we all sat outside to eat. We would have like to have stayed longer to do some walking in the area.
