• Paul (10/5): I’d strongly recommend staying at the Rest Hotel. The rooms are very well maintained and modern. The location is perfect - The location was fantastic. The room was very modern and comfortable. The check-in and check out process was very easy. The staff were brilliant and incredibly helpful at every stage of our stay. We had no complaints, everything about our stay was perfect. Nothing to report, we were very happy with all aspects of the property

• Nichola (9/5): A lucky find. - Immaculately clean, tastefully decorated, close to the cathedral and castle and cosy pubs with good food. The staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating. This is a special place. We loved every thing about it. It was a bit of a hike from the car park, up the hill in hot weather, but this is no fault of the hotel.

• Snook (10/5): Wonderful! Beautiful accommodation and lovely view - Beautiful accommodation in a top spot in Lincoln at the top of steep hill. The veranda was an unexpected bonus particularly since the weather was for once in British history lovely. Could not recommend this accommodations enough it's a little gem in the heart of Lincoln I'm so pleased I found it. Will most definitely stay again hopefully for longer!

Would have liked more coffee bags especially as the cafe downstairs was closed when we arrived on the Monday and only open from 10am - 2 on the other days. Instructions for checking in and out were very clear. Stairs and outside areas were gritted prior to. Snowfall.

• Christopher (10/5): Super spot in the centre of old town - Stayed for two nights and a weekend break for two. Location is excellent but it is on Steep Hill and it’s named that for a reason. We couldn’t drop off outside parked down the hill which was a big mistake. Make sure you park above the place. The room was excellent and was clean and tidy with all the facilities you could want. The cafe is underneath and has great coffee and friendly service and you get 10% discount as a guest. Highly recommended and a great location to explore wonderful Lincoln.

The room itself was clean, spacious and comfortable, the room was well equipped and we found we didn’t want for anything during our stay. There was nothing about the property that I didn’t like.

• Tom (9/5): Great value short stay - Amazing location, right in the centre of Lincoln's Cathedral District. Charming rooms above the cafe. Clean and well equipped - including a little kitchen with a hob and microwave. Very friendly staff. Excellent value for money. I would wholeheartedly recommend if you were having a short stay in Lincoln. There was nothing that we didn't like. Just to flag - if you really struggle with hills then the Lincoln Cathedral District may not be the best place for you (the clue is in the name of the road...)
• Joy (9/5): Great room, great location and staff - bring earplugs! - Great room with an excellent ensuite - shower was lovely. Parking nearby was not too far but it is quite steep so take it easy! Cafe onsite was great for a breakfast bap at 10.00am (when it opens) and the coffee available in room was very welcome. Facilities in room which included a kitchenette were really useful if staying for longer than one night. Staff in the cafe were helpful and there were gluten free options for my husband. If you are kept awake by sudden noises I would recommend some earplugs as there was a loud fan coming on regularly for 15 mins or so every hour through the night that woke us both up a few times. This wasn’t in the ensuite so we assumed it was at a nearby property. Apart from this there was nothing to complain about.

• Ian (9/5): Lovely place to explore the Cathedral Quarter. - Comfortable place to stay when taking short breaks in Lincoln. Hosts great and room excellent. All these are subjective, but the location is up one of the steepest streets in the UK. If infirm worth considering whether this is the place for you. No breakfast , but the recommendation up the hill at Bells was great. The room had a minor defect in the cistern .

There's a very nice cafe downstairs and we had a good lunch there. Nothing really to speak of. The shower head could do with descaling but otherwise it was an excellent place to stay.

No breakfast included no staff to meet you or see you at any point . No views unless you stood on a chair and looked out the velux window in the bathroom.

Helpful greeting allowing us to dump our bag before check-in. Sheets were clean but a little stained. I was expecting a bigger room but it was perfectly adequate for us.

• Fiona (10/5): - The Rest Inn, located on Steep Hill is right in the heart of Lincoln and close to the Cathedral, Castle and the hustle and bustle of a traditional market town with so much on offer. Our suite was comfortable with many thoughtful touches and an area outside with tables and chairs for occupants of each room to enjoy eating or just being outside. Great shower and comfy bed. Communication was excellent. Great value.

The only thing I didn’t like was the smoke detector was directly above the bed and flashed all night , I had to cover my eyes as it was very bright in the dark, may be better having it just away from the bed.
