• Callum (2/5): Very poor - Unfortunately there was very little we enjoyed The outside wall of our room was covered in gecko feces which attracted lots of flies and bugs, we had ants in our bed, on the toilet and toilet roll, our room was half the size as advertised and the bathroom a quarter the size yet we payed the same price. We had an obvious blood stain on our sheet, our room was flooded by the air con which washed the gecko feces on the floor into our room, the kettle never stops boiling so when we tried to turn it off i burnt my thumb. When i went to reception to complain/request another room there was no staff member contactable, the bell to call them didnt work, so we just left and came back late at night, 'slept' and left the early, the next day.

• Zachary (2/5): Don’t even Consider this place, try anywhere else. - I didn’t even stay at my night here. This was the worse accommodation I’ve ever stayed at. My room was infested with ants, bed sheets and towels were dirty. Room was not well kept. Ants crawling across the walls, and the room was not even close to the cleanliness in the pictures. The front desk staff offered to give me another room, but if this place thought the first room was sufficient to offer to a paying guest, then I wasn’t interested in seeing the next option. I asked for a refund, and the desk staff refused. I just left, extremely irritated and angry. Disgusting place. I’m hoping hotels.com will reimburse me for such an awful experience

• Wilson (5/5): Not recommended for this price. - Quiet. Big room. Not well cleaned. Doors have various gaps and someone can peek in. Old furniture. Coffee cup is horribly stained but changed to cleaner upon request. 2 main electricity supply trip when I was boiling water.

• Konstantina (6/5): Pleasant - The stuff was super friendly and agreed to change the room, after I saw the locker was broken and the window didn't close properly. It wasn't clean, the bed sheets had stains on them and there was a strong bad smell coming from the toilet.

• Georgina (5/5): Room ok. The issue was outside - The twin room was a decent size. Drinking Water in the room. Shower pressure so good that it made the shower head fly off the wall, however the staff did replace this for us as soon as we asked and we had no issues after that. Asked for a hairdryer and one was provided. Quiet at night Got out of a grab on the drive on our first night and due to it not being very well lit, stood on a rotton grid i did not see, that I then fell through up to the top of my leg. I cut my right leg and arm quite badly. I informed the man on reception in the morning and told him its dangerous and needed to be fixed. He said "sorry for the inconvenience" and that he would get someone out to fix it that day but 4 days later when we left it still wasn't fixed. Never usually write negative reviews but when it comes to safety, especially if children are staying there I believe it is important. I'm still left with cuts that I think will scar and a very bruised leg.

• Kieran (3/5): Poor - I wish I could say something but I was disappointed in the stay. Perhaps the size of room being large was good. AC was not cold at all. Even on lowest temp and max fan it felt warm. The bathroom smell of rotten eggs, and it didn't matter if we washed the drains, the smell kept on coming back. It was also dirty, looked like it hadn't been cleaned properly for a long time.

• Sarah (7/5): Good - There was many fantastic things! Breakfast was hearty and tasty. I liked the aircon, and water/tea/coffee in the room. I liked the large closet space too. Thankfully rubbishbag was provided in the bin, instead of having to put trash directly inside it. Plenty of car parking space for my rented car. Hotwater shower didn't work.
• Aditya (9/5): Superb - -Good location -Cheap price -Best part is they lend scooty at just 60,000 IDR which is a very good rate. I felt the staff could be more co-operative. I wanted to extend my stay but they didn't seem much interested, even though the rooms were available. (No am not a trouble maker if that's what comes to your mind). The owner did not even pick up my call. Also, they refused to lend me the scooty if i am staying somewhere else even though i was willing to leave my luggage and security money.

• Constantin (1/5): Bad - - Located right next to a main road which is almost impossible to cross on foot. There is also a large canal right next to the accommodation which carries very smelly water. Furthermore, many locals in the region burn their garbage every day, which means that there is always a strong smell of smoke in the air. The bathroom is very tiny and has no windows for ventilation or drying, the room itself is also very small.

• Daan (8/5): Very good - the staff was very kind and welcoming, breakfast is really good. the location is only a couple hundred meters from the busy road but far enough that you don't hear any noise. the room was spacious and had everything you need and there's a balcony infront of the room. the lighting was white and harsh so not very cozy, the bathroom is very old and simple but for the price it's okay.

Balcony to smoke and met some other travellers while there fairly nice views from the balcony of the river There's a big main road between the homestay and any attractions or even shops. So that could take 5 mins to cross at certain times of day but that's why it's a little cheaper

• Arquimedes (10/5): Exceptional - Obviously it is a basic homestay and not a 5 star hotel, but everything looks like in the photos, very clean and quiet. Staff was very friendly and helpful and location excellent. Would stay again.
• Lekswee (8/5): Comfy and Spacious - The staff of Beji Ayu Homestay is very helpful and courteous. Our room was clean, spacious and had a balcony. The shower had good water pressure. The bed was comfy too. Eateries are within walking distance.

• 7jedc (2/5): Way below average - I watched the hotel staff clean the room. He didn't use soap to wash coffee/tea cups in the room. He just rinsed the cups with water in the bathroom sink and used his fingers to rub off the coffee remains. He also didn't change the sheets and pillowcases. He just made the bed with the same linens. The facilities are old and worn. That's ok generally but the door to my room was uneven and the top corner had a big space between the door and the door frame. Light could come in as well as noise. The door was always open a bit because the door didn't quite close properly because it was uneven. It locked, but light would come in around the entire outline of the door as it was slightly open. Because the lock and door were uneven the door had centimeters of movement while shut so all night long it shook back and forth with the wind. It sounded like somebody trying to open the door constantly. Definitely not possible for a good night's sleep with all the banging noise. I told the owner in the morning and he said they would fix it after 5pm. I said OK and waited. Later that night, it still had not been fixed so I asked the person working at the desk and he said "Tomorrow." So, they were just putting it off another day and I had another bad night of interrupted sleep. I made a reservation elsewhere and left the next day. I couldn't rely on them fixing it the next day when they had already broken their promise to fix it once.Three nights' bad sleep--no thanks. On top of that, when I checked out the next day the worker overcharged me for the stay. I didn't want to argue, I just wanted to get out of there, so I left. Learn from my mistake and choose another hotel to avoid possible stress, frustration and being overcharged. There are many places nearby for the same price or cheaper.

• C (8/5): Great basic hotel with friendly staff. - The owner was lovely and checked on how we were doing multiple times. It’s a great basic hotel for a short stay. The rooms are equipped with a kettle, fridge, tv and water. Our room was pretty dark with a slightly sketchy bathroom so I couldn’t imagine chilling in this hotel but it was fine for a stopover. As someone who walks absolutes everywhere it’s nearly impossible to cross the road the hotel is on to walk into town so bear this in mind, you will be very dependent on scooters as it’s not close to restaurants etc.

• bene449 (10/5): Great place away from the chaos - Staying here for 5 days. Away from the noisy areas. Room is spacious, with fridge, tea/coffee, a/c, balcony and strong shower. There are several restaurants nearby and a supermarket. Breakfast can be ordered and eaten on your balcony. My wife was ill here and the staff provided any assistance we needed. The main tourist areas are about a £2.50 taxi ride. Recommend if you want the personal touch.

• Esme (7/5): Good - Overall it’s good value for money, it’s a bit far out of the centre of everything, about 20 min walk to the beach but in the heat that can be quite draining, however a gojek is only 7,000 rupiah so not the end of the world, TV was good, connected to YouTube and Netflix, however I feel there was a slight miscommunication as we paid on arrival with one staff member and then whilst checking out we were asked to pay again by a different staff member, luckily we had kept our receipt and I do feel like this was a mistake and they weren’t trying to overcharge us Location

We had a view of the area. You have to rent a scooter to go to most restaurants since some are distant away from the place. None.

• Amanda (2/5): Wouldn’t stay again. Lovely people but the listing not honest. I don’t mind budget but have an honest listing - The only good thing about the property were the nice staff. Unfortunately, a lot. It is budget price yes however it was nothing like the description. There is no lake view, tv didn’t work, fridge sounded like it was about to blow up every 30mins we had to turn it off. The bathroom functional but needed work, cupboards falling apart when touched, no soap provided, very loud in the food near the road and no noise cancelling. Everything the listing said the room was not.

• Lucia (8/5): One night stay, good! - The stuff was super nice and the bedroom was ok. Taking in consideration the standard in Bali I think they’ve done a good job with the room. Quiet place, far away from the noice of the traffic. I like everything. It was a one night stay so can’t say much but just for you guys to know, if you’ll want breakfast, you need to ask for it the day before.
