• beverleya584 (6/5): Not five star - We had previously stayed here last year and decided to rebook for a two night stay. We arrived for check in early and no one helped with luggage from the car and as our room wasn’t ready went for lunch by Tower Bridge. We arrived back at hotel at 3pm to be told the room was still not ready. At 3.30pm room was ready. When we got to where the rooms were the corridor and rooms were heavily sprayed with air freshener. We were leaving at 5pm for an event in Kensington so quickly got unpacked and changed. When we arrived back at midnight our room smelt of cigarettes and non of the windows opened due to pigeons. We requested to be moved. After packing everything up we were moved to another room. The next morning after breakfast we were told by the duty manager that there was planned maintenance booked for the room we were in and we would need to move. We told her we wouldn’t be moving again after already moving once. We will not be returning here again as we felt it fell short in five star service.

The staff were exceptionally warm, friendly and welcoming throughout our visit. The bedrooms are large, quiet, well maintained, and clean throughout. The food was outstanding, and every meal was made even more enjoyable by the informative, attentive and genuinely friendly staff. A special mention to Ishwar, who was a fantastic host and made us feel extremely welcome. The location is excellent and ideal for exploring London. Overall, a very enjoyable experience and we would happily stay again. Highly recommended.

The sink in the bathroom is too small and too low - impossible to use. Would have been nice to get slippers in the room, especially for a 5-star hotel. The furniture is a bit worn in places.

• Mark (8/5): Overall a nice hotel but not really 5* class in my estimation - The rooms are well appointed and very nice, quiet and clean and the bed and bedding are amazing, the most comfortable pillows and duvets etc. Great bathroom and shower. The Indian food in the restaurant was fabulous. Location close to Tower Bridge is great and the building is amazing. I couldn't get a good signal on the wi-fi ended up using my phone to pair. Staff were generally nice but when I returned after a night out at midnight dressed in a smart suit, they treated me like I was about to rob the place, not nice. The bar closed too early and I couldn't get a glass of wine to take to my room, 5* hotel should have some facility to be able to buy a drink after hours. Parking was extortionate at £40 per night when you have already paid for a room I think that is excessive.

• pauljY1898HG (10/5): Anniversary treat - We have just got back from a lovely one night stay at the Lalit hotel in London. It was part of a treat for our 10 year wedding anniversary where we used it as a base to have lunch in Mayfair and attend a concert at the Palladium. It was only around 10 minutes walk to the tube and a few stops to bond street. The hotel staff were all very welcoming and attentive and even treated us to a anniversary cake which was in the room when we got back. We stayed in one of the classroom rooms which was really spacious, very clean and felt luxurious. It was also very quiet and relaxing. Breakfast was stunning in the big hall. My wife had the Indian breakfast and I had the full English and both were very fresh and extremely flavoursome along with the buffet. Thanks again for making our anniversary special.

Heading out to a function in the evening we required an umbrella and again the hotel were more than happy to assist . Location is great , easy access to tube , train restaurants shops and river - would be loathe to have to stay anywhere else :) Thank you All @ The Lalit

When we went into our room there was a small chocolate fudge birthday cake waiting for me, the trip was a 60th birthday present, it was so thoughtful of the staff to do that. The room was lovely and the bed was very comfortable. I would highly recommend this hotel.

I didn’t use the spa, gym etc so can’t comment on them. The staff are kind of rude and not particularly helpful. When we checked in I was told that we’d get breakfast included in our room then this morning the woman on reception said that it wasn’t. To be honest, the pricing of the breakfast was kind of crazy too at £25 for a full English. Kind of left a bad taste about the stay unfortunately.

Stayed for one night following a wedding. room 211 was lovely, spacious and just perfect. bed so comfy. We loved the free drinks in the fridge and tea and coffee machine is great . The hotel is very near to London Bridge which is just perfect for exploring this side of London. Lots or bars and restaurants nearby. Absolutely love this hotel and would stay here again. • jamespM8906NL (10/5): Excellent Massage - During my stay I unexpectedly decided to have a head/shoulder/neck massage. I was lucky enough to get Mukesh who was absolutely fabulous, providing relaxing experience to what has been a busy couple of days.
• Lindaandalan (10/5): Another superb stay. Can’t wait to return - We have stayed in this hotel many times. Try location is good, fairly close to the Thames and the Queen’s walk but it is quiet at night. We had 2 senior classrooms which were superbly appointed and meticulously cleaned. Beds were very comfortable. All the staff were most courteous and helpful. The breakfast was quickly served and plentiful with a buffet before being served the main course. The evening menu consisted of a big variety of authentic Indian dishes and the Chef was on hand advising on choice and explaining the dishes. Once again the stay at the La Lit was wonderful and we can’t wait to return soon.

After our generous breakfast in the beautiful old school hall, I enjoyed a wonderful massage, just perfect after a busy day on our feet around London the day before. Mukesh the masseuse was excellent. Worth the trip to London just for this hotel.

The suite was spacious with lovely decor and really comfortable bed. The restaurant is superb and service throughout the hotel is spot on. I had afternoon tea with a group of friends recently. Gayathri Sajeev was allocated to our table to serve us. Gayathri won everyone’s heart with her impeccable service and hospitality. She made the event for me by going out of her way to serve all my guests so well and also organised a historic tour of 1800’s grammar school for us. There was a round of applause for Gayathri at the end. Huge thank you to Gayathri, chefs and manager for making another event of mine a success. PS: one of my friends booked spa for the very next day - this is how impressive it all was!
