Guest Reviews
- Mandy (10/5): Perfect for independent travellers - Perfect for independent travellers, easy to access site without need of staff. Rooms was very clean and just what we needed. There was also a patio courtyard, just for people staying which I can see would have been lovely in better weather. Nothing, was very good

- Andrew (8/5): An excellent stay despite my last minute booking. Very good value considering the central location. - The welcome (despite the fact that it was a quiet day and I was the only booking. They opened up for me with a warm welcome.
- Amy (10/5): - Staff were absolutely lovely. The room was super clean and had everything you needed. The outside space was a lovely added bonus. N/A
- Michael (8/5): Perfect for our needs. - Close to the centre and had sufficient beds for our group, as well as a secure courtyard to store our bikes. Not open for food or breakfast, but understandable as this was the staff’s only day off.
- Geoffrey (10/5): The lady checking me in was so kind and helpful and the room was everything I wanted and a bit more. - This was a spacious well appointed room. But where this room surpassed others was there was more than enough towels, there wasn't just two coffees and two teas there were more - there were two shower heads so you could choose which shower to have. Little extras which made all the difference. There was an A4 sheet suggesting where you could eat out or get a takeaway and eat in - this put this hotel in the exceptional bracket. It can't be helped but the rooms are very near the bar area so while the pub is open you will hear the pub goers - this didn't bother me but might not be everybody's choice.
- Miroslaw (9/5): - Nice, cosy room in city centre, craft beer, good food and very nice staff.
I will recommended.
- Virginia (8/5): Nice accodation , comfy bed, good shower. - Location in the town centre was perfect . Pub was closed so we didn’t quite get the experience we wanted .
They had a problem with their water supply so nothing could be done but it was a shame for us as we wanted to stay in a pub environment .
Converted rooms are right in the small courtyard garden which might not suit everyone .
- Kerry (10/5): Fabulous stay, will be back. - Very clean, great welcome from staff. Own access through courtyard which was useful at night. Well supplied with consumables, lots of additional bedding, bright and cheerful decor. Nothing

- Lisa (9/5): - Great location, very central, quiet spot behind the pub. Easy check in and out. Didn't seem to have wifi working bit weren't there long enough to worry about enquiring as we only stayed the night.
- Tonganai (8/5): - Quiet clean environment. Single bedding for 2 people.

- Sally (8/5): Right in the centre of Devizes - The location, right in the centre with easy access to a large carpark nearby. Alsovery close to the Corn Exchange for anyone attending a concert there. Nice bedroom and bathroom. All very clean. Duvets and pillows comfortable but we found the mattresses a bit too firm for us.

- Stuart (8/5): Last minute decision to visit Quakers Parkrun. - The staff were helpful and the hotel was central for the ParkRun event. Also several breakfast places around for the morning. It was a busy Friday night and the barmaid was busy and was a small area to serve and checkin… the room was cold at first but we put the radiator on when we went for food outside the hotel but we had booked the room on our way down. Thought we would grab food at the hotel after a 4hr drive but was too busy.
- john (9/5): -
- Michael (10/5): Always enjoy staying there. The landlady & daughter are so friendly and they obviously love providing quality rooms - A dream place to stay , central location, excellent rooms with internal fittings and decor to high standard
- Kim (7/5): -
- Wayne (7/5): - Loved the location NO WiFi so couldn’t use phone as we had ne reception either but would of thought these days it’s a requirement dspecially for work
- Enes (10/5): - Nice location, very clean and quiet place. Very lovely staff. We enjoyed our stay. It was a very good for value stay for us. We will be back when visiting Wiltshire again.
- susan (9/5): - Location
Room size Silly but towels were hard
- Stephen (9/5): Conveniently located pub accommodation with friendly host - Large comfortable twin room in courtyard at the back of the pub. Very quite given it's convenient location off the central square in Devizes. Very friendly host and room good value for money.
Safe storage for bikes in the locked courtyard Unfortunately the actual pub was closed on a Wednesday which was a shame as it looked like a great place to have a drink
- Derek (9/5): Perfect for an overnight stay - Welcoming friendly staff.
Room was comfortable and clean.
Right in the centre of town & perfect for an overnight stay in Devizes. Nothing
- Ken (9/5): -
- Jacqueline (5/5): - In the town centre. The landlady was welcoming & helpful. The room was clean, bed comfortable and the shower was great. The noise from the town. Parking before 6pm is quite a way from The Pelican, making hauling luggage a chore.
The drainage is old and was a bit wiffy.
Adequate for a stop over/overnight, but wouldn't stay longer. No sofa, or fridge.
- Juliet (8/5): -
- john (10/5): Great find I will be back - Perfect warm cosy great location staff really friendly 👍 Nothing
- John (7/5): Good value - Good location and value for money. Mattress was very hard, room relatively small.
- Alva Crist (8/5): - Clean room. Very nice bathroom. Heating was not user friendly and required assistance. Check in required a phone call at locked front door.
- Anne (7/5): - Good Location, just what we needed
- Simon (5/5): - The room , shower and setting were great. I booked a double bed. Arrived and had a twin, 2 singles. They couldn't push together as clip wouldn't fasten. Uncomfortable sleep as kept falling down the gap in middle. Sore back.
- Richard (8/5): -
- Janina (7/5): -
- Tania (2/5): Better accommodation around. - Not a lot Very uncomfortable bed, mattress was poor quality and terribly uncomfortable. Pillows were the same, no WiFi, old TV, small towels and had difficulty entering the accommodation. Towel rail in bathroom was broken, so no way to dry the towel or be warm in the bathroom. No one answered the phone, and we were left without access. No breakfast is provided, so how can this be listed as an air bnb? It stands for bed and breakfast...?? No value for money, at a time when people are struggling.
- Libby (9/5): What a warm welcome! - An amazing welcome, even though we were so wet and muddy from our day long cycle.
Lovely cosy rooms, right in the centre of Devizes. Great shower
- Gary (7/5): -
- Singing (7/5): -
- Michelle (8/5): - Close to town …
- James (6/5): Great location, beautiful room; lacked ambience. - The property was located well in central Devizes and served to be very well decorated. The bathroom / shower was particularly amazing - swear I had a 30 minute shower in the evening. The Pelican is a pub but due to footfall, the landlady said that during the weekday evenings the pub doesn’t open. I am not sure this was made clear through the booking system and therefore the ambience of an evening at the pub had to be sought further up the road.
- Brian (10/5): -
- Patrick (9/5): - The room was very nice and clean ,tea and coffee available Nice , en suite shower-room. Easy access to inside and outside of property.Easy access to liquid refreshment as it's a pub.Allowed to bring in food to eat in pub gardens ( on that day no food being served in pub so maybe thats.why). Very flash Vellux , sky light that could be accessed via control to offer a blind and or a window open or shut .Excellent value Towels were very hard and uncomfortable.
- Kerry (10/5): Lovely host excellent room great time x - Me and my husband were staying for our anniversary at last minute ,had a great time in Devizes lovely place lovely people lovely food plenty of variety visited lots of pubs ate out on 2 nights very good food weather not bad took a walk down the canal to caen hill locks had food at the cafe at the top very nice Only that the pelican shut at 6pm so no chance of a night cap and that it didn't open on a Wednesday
- David (10/5): - Convenient for centre of town and local attractions
- Elizabeth (10/5): -
- Tim (9/5): -
- CORNELIUS (7/5): - Good central location although the pub is not actually open. We were met by the host who got us in. Nice clean quiet room with a good shower.
No breakfast here but good cafes in town.
- Claire (10/5): Excellent hosts and comfortable accommodation at a good price.great value for money and really kind and helpful hosts - The staff were so kind and helpful. We were on a cycling tour and they made room to store our e bikes safely and put up with us when we had a problem with one of the batteries in the morning and were kind and helpful throughout. The showers were awesome and beds very comfy It seemed a little bit small, but that was part of its charm
- Carl (9/5): 100% Recommended - fabulous room behind a pub in a converted stable with exceptionally friendly service from the mature lady ,very hot night so the fan supplied was a godsend possibly a breakfast option but that is being really picky
- Jane (10/5): -
- Belinda (10/5): would recommend this lovely place, the lady in charge was very helpful - comfortable, clean and spacious bedroom, loved the courtyard just outside
- Deborah (10/5): 2nd stay - Cosy & comfortable. Great shower. N/A

- Wayne (7/5): -
- Eloise (10/5): -
- Michael (10/5): A very enjoyable stay, in excellent accommodation., with great attention paid to having items in the room to enhance the - The property was very well presented, very clean, excellent facilities in the room / shower / toilet , The bed was comfortable and attention to detail was evident everywhere There was nothing to dislike
- paul (10/5): enjoyable stay in a comfortable airy room with good en suite - Very clean and well presented very happy did not have breakfast so cant comment on food No complaints very good for the price
- Dawn Brown (9/5): The accommodation is clean comfortable and good value - The room was cheerful clean and comfortable with coffee/tea facilities available Finding the inn was difficult because the road into the market square was closed. As this is an ongoing situation that will be the case for a long time it would be good to forewarn customers and give them an alternative route. Also it’s difficult to locate the pay and display station in the on street parking that allows you to use your card.
- Ian (8/5): For a pub room it was a pleasant stay. The room was a good size and well equipped and the shower was - The pub is only open at certain days of the week and was closed during my stay so the rooms were very quiet.
- Donohoe (10/5): - Excellent room, everything that was needed to hand. Quiet and no noise , excellent nights sleep

- james (10/5): -
- Sue (9/5): I would stay there again. - Central position, so very convenient.
Beautiful rooms. Helpful staff.
Lovely courtyard to sit in outside. Even though it is a pub, it wasn’t noisy at night. They don’t serve breakfast- but there are places very close
- Barry (9/5): Perfect location in centre of town -
- claire.pitcher (9/5): - Great location in the centre of town
We were on a cycling trip and the courtyard area in front of the room was ideal for bike storage , safe and secure.
The courtyard area is very quiet and private.
The owner was really friendly and helpful.
The pelican a must stay if you are in the area
- Chad (9/5): Great, friendly central location - Folk were very friendly & welcoming :-) Room was clean & beds were comfortable. Be aware that the Pelican Inn has no parking available so paid parking has to be used between the hours of 8am & 6pm.
Wasn't overly expensive to park for the whole day but an inconvenience none the less.
