Guest Reviews
- Carol (6/5): - Location and the newness I requested a handicap room and I didn’t have a raised toilet or any bars
- SKS (10/5): Fast check-in - Everything was convenient to other businesses. We were traveling with 2 cats and they were welcomed. Friendly staff. Location and easy on and off main road. There was a little road construction going on around there. I'm sure that's done by now.
- Gary (10/5): Great hotel, good staff and pet friendly. - Location, cleanliness and pet friendly. That I booked through a 3rd party.
- Sarah (1/5): - The white lady with dirty cigarette blonde hair . She’s a RACIST. Keep away.
- Swapna (4/5): -
- Marney (10/5): -
- Donna (7/5): Good breakfast - Breakfast was good, new revamp lobby area very nice with a lot of seating. The room was very small, you could tell it was old room with fresh paint but the tiles were old and dirty grout and the pillows were awful not enough light in the bathroom.
- David (10/5): -
- Jeff (10/5): Our go to place for an overnight stay in Amarillo - Exceptionally nice staff! We left a set of AirPods and they called us to let us know they were holding them for us. Who does that? So kind!
- Michael (8/5): -
- Laura (5/5): this stay was less that what we have come to enjoy and expect with La Quinta - close to the freeway
the staff was very friendly and the facility was clean
we were in an oversized vehicle and there was plenty of parking that was well lit and secured the rooms were very noisy
the water pressure was not very good
the breakfast options were very limited and there was not food being replenished
- Ybel (10/5): -
- Kelsey (9/5): Great stay all around would stay here again! - Great location
Very clean
Friendly staff Breakfast options were limited and the same daily
- Jeff (8/5): -
- James (9/5): - Ok
- Mark (8/5): Will stay there again. 8 of ten stars. - Easy access off the interstate. Near the interstate, the noise from traffic didn’t let up till after midnight.
- Verena (9/5): -
- ortiz (8/5): Other than the pillows everything was great - It was good The pillows were very hard and uncomfortable
- Q2800DEdonnah (10/5): Passing thru Amarillo with LaQuinta - Very clean, loved all the doggies that everyone got to take with them, room was so nice and clean, and breakfast was really good. They had fruit 🍑 out !! Don't see much of that anymore... Scrambled eggs, sausage one morning, bacon another, waffles, yogurt, boiled eggs, bakery items, cream cheese, coffee that was brewed correctly, cereal with fresh milk that was really cold, and fruit juices. And a lady actually cleaning the tables and keeping the breakfast area clean... I could go on and on..
This La Quinta is right on I-40, and so easy to access. Big Texan steakhouse right down the road too. Just stay on interstate access road. Almost every popular restaurant in America, is in Amarillo... We all loved it. We flipped a quarter each nite to decide where to go... HA!!
Palo Duro canyon ( grand canyon of Texas). is well worth the drive to see, If you have time to spare. We left earlier on our last day, to carve in the canyon on our schedule. Check the internet to see what I mean. Y'all have safe trips and fun.
- Blake (5/5): Been there done that - Breakfast was okay. Staff was aggressively indifferent to outright rude.
- Patti (10/5): - This hotel is well-kept and clean. The rooms are set up well and have ample space.
- Ronald (10/5): - Great stay! Easy checking in and out. Quiet room!
- Mark (10/5): - The staff was helpful and friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. We felt very safe parking in the lot. This is our second stay at this location.
- Gary (10/5): - Friendly staff, comfortable beds
- mbennettbwg (10/5): Always the perfect place to stay! - We often overnight here on our trans-Texas journeys. It’s a lovely hotel. The rooms are spacious and modern. The beds are SO comfortable. The breakfasts are easy and delicious. The front desk staff is always friendly and accommodating. And our dog is welcome!
- Daniel (10/5): - Great 1 night stay. We had our two young children. We were able to get a travel crib for the baby. We got a king bed with a sofa which gave the kids some space to play before bed.
- Theresa (10/5): - Or go-to howl when we fly out of Amarillo. Dependably clean, friendly, easy check in, nice rooms.
- Manuel (10/5): - Staff is amazing
My favorite place to stay while in Amarillo
- Kevin (10/5): - Location, easy on and off to I-40. Little noisy from Interstate traffic.
- Amber (10/5): - Clean, beautiful, safe, and comfortable! Nice and quiet inside, and we slept like babies. Love that it’s dog friendly and the deposit for pets is much more reasonable than other places. Will definitely stay here again in the future!
- Michael (5/5): Over priced. - Located next to Freeway. Was decent.
- Explorer00821319591 (10/5): Great hotel! - Great beds. Very clean. Very quite! Very friendly staff! Great place! Would definitely stay here again. The shower is wonderful. Lots of hot water!
- Bill (10/5): - Very clean and roomy breakfast area
- Brenda (10/5): - Amanda at the front desk was always so helpful. We were there for my dad's 100th Birthday. We stayed 4 days. Everything was so clean. Food was good, all in all we had a wonderful stay
- James (10/5): - The property is on the one-way service road on I-40W so access is a bit challenging, but well worth your effort.
- Terrill (10/5): -
- Donna (4/5): - We reserved a mobility room and verified but didn’t receive it, very difficult to maneuver. When asked they just shrugged it off. We are finding that la Quinta’s are not for the handicapped. Rooms on second floor in certain states. Can’t use elevator in an emergency so stuck with no escape. When asked response is “ I don’t know, oh well”. Searching for new hotels now
- Katherine (10/5): Easy to get to & clean - The room was clean & very comfortable. I had my dog with me so I wa able to get a room near the stairs to take him outside quickly & easily. The grounds were well taken care of & they provided bags to pick up after my pet.
Breakfast was good.
- amber (10/5): Great Stay! - A super comfy bed after a 12 hour car ride was just what we needed and just what we got. Very clean property and the man at the front desk was friendly. The breakfast was fast and convenient. It's very close to a Buccees. It's right off the freeway which was convenient for road trip purposes, but you did not hear the traffic which is great!
- Scott (10/5): Very Clean - Nice place to stay
- Joe (4/5): - We are Gold Marriott card members and have stayed at this location several times in the last 3 years. We have received exceptional service at the Front Desk until this stay. We have had the same person assist us each time, until again this stay. The answers to my husband’s reasonable requests were No without any reasons or options that may be helpful. We have decided to find another hotel in Amarillo that will meet our travel needs.
- Theresa (10/5): - Pool was nice and the lounge area by the breakfast room. Shower was awful 3rd floor, no pressure.
- Philippe (9/5): -
- JAMES (10/5): - Always stay here when we are in Amarillo. Very friendly staff, clean and very comfortable.
- Martey (10/5): - Everything about the stay was as close to perfect as you ask far. At the desk, I had forgotten to request a room with a handicap shower for my wife. My request at the desk was quickly and fulfilled. My wife greatly appreciated it
The breakfast was a nice combination of many types of food. If we are in Amarillo again, we will stay here again.
- KJDsf (10/5): Immaculately clean rooms! - I always stay here when I’m driving to and from the Dallas area from NM, previously because they were so pet friendly, and now because I’ve always had just seamless visits- checking in and out is quick, and I’ve never had a problem with my reservations. But most importantly, the rooms and bathrooms are absolutely spotless, their cleaning crew makes the place immaculate! Highly recommended if you’re a bit of a germ freak like I am!
- 40solveigt (10/5): On the way back East - Great experience close to the airport. Amanda and the rest of the employees made us feel right at home (+1 is a dog.) They have Stouffer's mac and cheese family size next to the reservation desk so it seems like a great place for families.
- Linda (10/5): - Convenient
- Vadim (10/5): Exceeded Expectations - Felt safe with a car full of stuff. Great sleep. Good water pressure in shower. Decent breakfast. Will stay again if ever in Amarillo again.
- Stephen (10/5): Nice - convenient location easy to find. Clean, nice people. Noisy area limited sleep due to road noise. lots of trucks or load motorcycles.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Safe, a little noisy from interstate/airport & pet friendly room smelled of urine
- Sara (10/5): Very nice, quiet rooms. Good breakfast. Easy off/on the Interstate. - Great location. Good breakfast. Quiet. Very
Nice room. Nothing
- Cathy Jones (10/5): - Very quiet and comfortable. Pet fee is less than many hotels. We stayed twice within a week's time and breakfast was exactly the same both mornings. A bit more variety in the hot breakfast choices would be appreciated.
- Tracy (10/5): - Staff was friendly. Room was clean and comfortable.
- Nicole (8/5): - Staff was great, property is clean, breakfast is good! The only thing that keeps this from being a 5-star property in my book is the noise from both the interstate and the airport. That’s obviously not the hotel’s “fault”, but it is something to note if you don’t have to be near either one of those and are looking for a restful night of sleep (and don’t have anything to drown out the noise).
- Ronny (10/5): - We stayed in 5 hotels on our trip, and this was the best.
Best Breakfast.
Most comfortable bed.
- JulieS3481 (10/5): Very Comfortable Stay! - Extremely comfortable beds, no highway noise, great pool we enjoyed, very good breakfast, clean and no pet smells. Will stay here again as our 1/2 way overnight to Colorado.
Tip: Ask for a room on the 4th floor on the backside of hotel. It’s quiet and no highway noise.
- Rajesh (10/5): - Great
- Cathy Jones (10/5): - Room was clean with a super comfortable bed. Check-in was easy and staff was very helpful.
- Jennifer (10/5): - Clean nice rooms, comfortable bed with pillow options, hot breakfast
- Amanda (6/5): Reservation issue and got charged twice no refund - Double charge
- Luke (10/5): - Great location
- GAY (10/5): - Nice place.
- Mark (10/5): - Staff was friendly and helpful.
- Patti (10/5): - We love this hotel. We try to stay here whenever we need to stay in Amarillo on our way to Colorado. It's clean and comfortable. The breakfast options were quite good.
We were surprised that we needed to wait in the lobby when we arrived at 2:15 pm on Sunday afternoon. We know that check-in time is 3 pm, but usually the staff is amenable to allow us to check in 30 minutes early or so.
- Angel (10/5): Clean comfy place to sleep bad pool - The beds and bathroom were very clean and well maintained. My kids tried to swim but the pool was freezing, looked gross, and was overly chlorinated. I couldn't even stand to go in the pool room it smelled so strong. Breakfast tasted just ok. Offerings were scrambled eggs, sausages, potatoes, diy waffles and oatmeal, cereal, yogurt, coffee, juice and pastries. Desk employees were EXTREMELY friendly and courteous.
- Jose (7/5): -
- Lynne (10/5): - Clean room and nice breakfast
- Michael (10/5): - Comfortable bed. Easy check in. Good location.
- Gabriel (8/5): - Ok
- Darik (8/5): - Clean and nice thanks
- Denver (1/5): -
- Donna (6/5): - Location
- Jeffrey (10/5): - Near airport, but didn’t hear airplanes
- Cindy (7/5): Check hotel prices with hotel directly - Bed comfortable. Check in and check out people very unfriendly. Breakfast was standard nothing special. A ton of dogs in hotel. If I realized this site charged 50$ more I would have booked directly with hotel. Lighting in room is very dim. TV channels choices limited. Not worth 190$ for a night. Learned my lesson
- Terrance (10/5): - Always a great stay at this LaQuinta. Our family stays here twice every summer as our half-way point on our annual trip to El Paso.
And now there’s a Buc-ee’s that you can literally walk to!
- Curtis (6/5): - Poor Experience – Loud Access Door & Unprofessional Staff Response
I stayed in Room 101, located right next to the exit by the dog relief area. Unfortunately, the access door slammed shut loudly all night, waking up both my 6-year-old and 6-month-old baby multiple times. None of us were able to get proper rest, which was incredibly frustrating — especially after paying nearly $200 for the night.
When I brought the issue to the front desk, I was met with defensiveness. The woman on duty argued with me when I asked what could be done about the noise. Another employee nearby offered a simple and thoughtful suggestion — to place a sign on the door asking guests not to slam it due to rooms nearby. The front desk woman promptly dismissed his idea, continuing to argue instead of problem-solving.
All I was trying to do was get the manager’s email to explain what we experienced and see if there was any remedy. I eventually received the information and emailed Shelly Cooper, but never received a response.
This was a terrible situation overall. We booked this hotel based on good ratings, but the lack of sleep and the unprofessional staff response made for a very disappointing stay. I wouldn’t recommend this property to families or anyone expecting a quiet and respectful environment.
- Robin (9/5): Convenient stop on a cross country road trip. - Great shower. Quiet and comfortable. Nothing was within walking distance.
- Navin (10/5): - Accessible from the highway, well maintained neat and clean property
- Navin (10/5): - Neat and clean
- Nikki (10/5): - We love la Quinta!
- Dehaven (4/5): Stay somewhere else. - AC did not work correctly. Staff in the morning was rude. They talked about their guest in Spanish very derogatory. They did not realize that I speak fluent Spanish.
- VIHAL (10/5): Very convenient and excellent value - Good location WiFi was a 45 when we got on at 7pm - super slow
- Chris (10/5): - Great stop to see Amarillo
- Linda (8/5): - There was only one elevator working, so that was sort of a problem.
- Matthew (8/5): - Spacious room. Breakfast selection was suboptimal compared to other hotels we've stayed at on this trip.
- Cin (4/5): Doors don’t lock - staff slow/curt at check in. - Check in had a line and when I got to the front the attendant just said “I’d and credit card” - no hello, thanks for waiting, or anything. Then the room door didn’t lock from the outside. Looking at it, the door jam was missing anything for the door to latch onto. Also we were right by the side entrance which was supposed to need a key to enter but the door didn’t latch shut so if someone went out the door was left ajar - unsafe! That door also squeaked VERY loudly so I know people were in and out all night. Saw some gross bugs by the hall light too so I didn’t feel like it was terribly clean either. Attaching photos of all.
- Kelly (6/5): Check your A/C - It is a nice hotel. We arrived lat about 1130pm during a rain storm. We checked in and went to our room. The a/c did not work and could not be fixed. Mind you, this is the end of June and late at night. So the room was hot and stuffy. The hotel was also sold out. So, we are a little cranky as of this review.
- John (10/5): Stay was what we needed after a day of driving - Amanda was great. Professional, friendly, and made sure we had what we needed. There was an issue with the TV in our room and she came right away and solved it. She is the best. Thank you Amanda for all you do Nothing
- Scott (10/5): - Great
- Felix (10/5): - I had a wonderful time there enjoying every minute. Customer service was great. Food was great nice place.
- Karla (10/5): - 100% recommend
- Raymond (9/5): Superb -
- alexander (6/5): - It was bare minimum decent long waits at the front counter and the basic and most minimal amount of necessary items as well as an outdated tv
- HARLAN (8/5): - The entrance off the road was a bit hard to find (well past the hotel itself) and rock strewn. The woman at the check in desk was humorless and not terribly welcoming. The room and bathroom were great. The breakfast was so/so.
- D728FGjeanpierrep (10/5): Awesome stay - Great Hotel room was nice, bed very comfortable with comfortable pillows. Breakfast was very nice, very quiet area and great for pets. Plus it is about 6 miles from the famous Big Texan restaurant with the 72oz steak. We did eat there, it was ok. But the atmosphere was fun. And the waitresses were great.
- Catherin (8/5): - Very nice and clean
- Tiffani (10/5): Exceptional -
- 531elliotg (10/5): Conveniently located to Buckys - Nice place brand new clean staff was friendly lots of really positive things to say about the place. If you go pick an even number room so that you can watch your car or ask for one that is even numbered didn’t stay for breakfast cause we had to leave at 5 AM so no thoughts on that. I need 200 200 characters to leave a review.
