- MoniB (9/5): - Idyllische Anlage, eine ruhige Oase neben dem hektischen Dambulla. Toller Pool. Moskitonetz vorhanden. Zweistöckiges Familienzimmer mit viel Platz und eigenem Balkon. Nette Geste: beim Frühstück gab es immer eine lokale Speise zum Probieren dazu. Küche hätte zum Teil noch Luft nach oben - Hauptgericht des Menüs jeweils gut, restliche Gänge eher einfallslos.

The rooms don’t have blackout, just some rolling shades, so you will wake up with the sunrise. Lots of mosquitoes in the room.

Samir was exceptional and took great care remembering no spice for me at meal times. Showers were wonderful and the AC worked very well. The hotel ordered us tuktuk to Sigriya and we agreed on price. The tuktuk was 15 minutes late and once we were dropped off at next hotel the tuktuk driver was very aggressive and demanded more money. It was unfortunate that was the last experience with the hotel.

- Joanna (8/5): We had a nice stay in Athen Lake Hotel. Personel was so so nice for us and for kids. We even got sandwiches for our long - Location was perfect for Dambula and Sigiriya sightseeing! Personel was extremely nice and helpful. Nice surrounding with swimming pool. Even though everyone tries to keep the place clean it’s impossible without refreshing the place. Curtains in the room were broken, smell in our room was not perfect (room was over the kitchen).

- Grevet (8/5): Very good - The hotel is in.the forest, far from everything with a lake nearby. It is calm and relaxing, we got a great experience there. Unfortunatly the rain prevented us to enjoy thr swimming pool as we wanted. The staff is really nice and helpfull. The food was fair, the breakfast was excellent The bed is not confortable, not hard enough, painfull for the back.

- Greg (10/5): Clean boutique hotel in the middle of the jungle - Great little oasis in the jungle. Staff is very helpful and accommodating. Had wonderful dinner out on the lawn, was worried about bugs, but was good, loved hearing the sounds of the jungle around us. The distance from Sigiriya rock is a bit far and the road to the hotel turns to a single dirt road. Did like the entrance has a gate that is closed at night. Our room was great, only negative thing is the bathroom roof allows you to hear the noises from the shared room next door. The bedroom this was not an issue.

- David (8/5): - Athena Lake provides comfortable accommodation, a terrific staff, nice food and wonderful pool near Dambulla. It is a good base for visits to ancient sites (Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa, and Sigirya Lion Rock) plus safaris to Minneriya National Park, but is a little hard to find, along a gravel road. We loved relaxing at the pool after busy sightseeing but would have been happier if our roof was more brightly illuminated.
- Ashim (8/5): Nice Hotel for a quiet relaxed stay - Check in was done very smoothly by a courteous and friendly front desk. Actually, since there are only six rooms in this boutique hotel the staff are not overloaded and are very friendly and courteous. We never had an opportunity to complain. The grounds lead down to the lake but one cannot walk right up to the lake because of the undergrowth. The pathway should be cleared up so that one can walk right up to the water's edge. A paddle boat would be a good idea as the remoteness of the hotel offers no other avenue to stretch one's legs except to take a walk to the village.
- mani (10/5): Excellent hotel!!! - The stay in this hotel was excellent and I have to thank the staff for making our stay very comfortable. The food was superb and the pool was impeccable. The rooms were very clean and well kept. This hotel is probably the best we stayed at during our vacation in Sri Lanka because of the staff. I highly recommend staying here!!!
