Guest Reviews
- Stevie (10/5): Great stay, beach is fabulous and service is great - What a wonderful little place to stay. Beach views and so much potential. Staff and the new manager were so attentive, friendly and helpful. We understand the Beach camp will be undergoing a refresh and some refurbishment. This is commendable as there is so much potential in this lovely little place. Bed was very clean as was bathroom, suggest team clean the fans which were a little dusty. Adding a restaurant would have doubled the money we spent but there is a great little cafe next door as well.
- Paul (2/5): Not what we expected. - We arrived there and there was only a housekeeper who had little grasp of English, no security, no check in desk. The check in was via the housekeepers mobile to the main desk at the elephant reach hotel. The camp has 7 huts but we were the only ones on site. As the only people on site it didn't feel particularly safe.
Despite the pictures they didn't serve food on site and there are no restaurants near by. However we could get free transport to the elephant reach hotel where we could get breakfast and dinner.
One of the huts was wonky and was tied to the hut next to it to keep it upright. Our hut had very strong smell of chemicals from the cleaning and we had a lizard running around our bathroom that we couldn't get out.
In the end we requested a move to the elephant reach hotel and the hotel duly obliged. The concept was there, it was just very poorly executed
- Carmen (10/5): Such a fun glamping experience! - We loved The Beach Camp! It was right on a beautiful beach, the tents were very spacious and comfortable and it was a great glamping experience. We wished we could have stayed longer! The attendant was very helpful and kind and it made our stay that much more special.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice staff. Good Location. Tents were not 100% secure because someone had open our tent.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Best hotel experience ever - We had the best experience at beach camp yala. The service was amazing and the ”room” (cabana) was really comfortable. The private beach was lovely and we were the only ones there. The Hotel has a sisterhotel (which we didn’t know avout before our stay) and we got free tuctuc-ride there whenever we wanted and we got to use the pool there and eat dinner there. We also booked safari with the hotel and got the best guide (who also was the manager) and we had the best time. We can recommend everyone to stay at the beach camp yala but maybe if you are a couple that’s even better.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - What is posted is not accurate. The beach is fenced off and not usable. The resturant is a 5 minute drive away.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Sulla spiaggia.
- Niamh & Kevin (10/5): Lovely beach huts, wonderful staff, fabulous beach - We really enjoyed this place. Staff Sharine, Kamal & pramuk work very hard and are wonderful. The breakfast was excellent, huge variety. Beach is quite and beautiful. Had a really relaxing time here and would highly recommend.
- Dawn (10/5): Loved it. - W loved it. Very clean, comfortable Glamping. The beach is lovely, isolated with nice sand. There are large rocks - not a swimming beach. The breeze kept you cool at night. Tent had a fan, mini fridge, and large, modern, clean private bathroom. No hot water- you are camping. No food on site but just ask and they will call a tuk tuk to their sister hotel (elephant reach) and you can eat there paying cash or charging to your Beach Camp account. 2,200 LR dinner buffet. I can't recall breakfast price. They were pretty good. There is an outdoor shower under a tree to wash off the day's sand which we found a peaceful treat. It would definitely be improved with access to basic food. Even drinks and sandwiches. If you are staying several days, it would be easy just to bring in supplies, which we did. If I am ever back in this part of the world, I will stay here again.
