Everything was clean, staff and their cute dogs were super friendly. We didn't have the energy for the pool and hot tub but that was a big plus too. Zero issues - 10/10 would stay again. That we couldn't stay longer.

- Julie (9/5): It was perfect for us - 2 adults and 3 boys. - It was clean and comfortable. The pool area with hot tub and sauna was clean and well kept. Full kitchen made it easy for meals. Beds were comfortable including the sleep sofa which typically isn’t the case. A small issue but no salt and pepper shakers. Plenty of other kitchen items. The game room was sparse. The 16 year was hoping for a pool table but not enough room in the game room.

Delighted that the front desk staff was able to add a night when I fouled up my reservation and showed up a night early. Could use brighter lighting, especially in kitchen and dining rooms. Efficient bulbs suck.

- DARIA (9/5): We’ll be back in February (and not only!) - This is our third year as River View Resort guests. The location in close proximity to Sunday River ski resort is perfect, the size of the rooms (actually 2-bedroom apartments) and fully equipped kitchen make you feel like home. My favorite is the pool with jacuzzi and wonderful view. This time our room was on lower level and I could here the neighbors walking all night in the room above ours.

There were lots of outlets and mirrors. A shoe tray by the front door for wet and dirty boots is always useful but there wasn't one. A fireplace would have been nice. Really don't have any dislikes.

- Isobel (6/5): A great location for a short ski trip - Location is great When I walked into the apartment it smelled and looked old. There seemed to be a smell like the place is prone to getting mould. I'm very sensitive to mould and was able to stay in the apartment however, myself and the other occupants did suffer nasal congestion and mild symptoms that appear in response to mould. After 24 hours of being away from the room, all symptoms are gone. The furniture in the main living room area is old and uncomfortable. After a long day skiing we wanted to hang out together, eat, watch TV but it wasn't a comfortable space 😞

Everything creaked so bad we could hardly sleep any time someone walked above us or across the front porch. I could hear the next door neighbors even speaking in normal voices. The upstairs neighbors were raucously loud into the night. The room overall needs some updating. Very worn box spring, poor quality mattress. $280 was not a good value for this place.

It won't blow you away with modern amenities and chic decor, but you're in the wooded mountains of Maine...what are you expecting? There were roadwork contractors there the whole week I was filling most of the complex, but I was never bothered by them or any noise. A nice spot if you're spending some time in Bethel.

- susanfX3271VD (2/5): Converted motel 2 star infested water bugs - Place is old and run down. Shouldn’t be listed as a condo or timeshare!! More like a converted 2 star motel at most!! Very small confined rooms. No amenities but pool . Hot tub not hot and only a few jets! Arcade had 2 very old machines and expensive. Laundry services available for expensive cost. Manager/staff very nice and accommodating. Was infested with black water bugs for 5:7 days. My family/young grandkids were traumatized. I I’ve been a timeshare owner for 45 years and this was my worst exchange experience yet. Don’t book it!!

The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. The area was also beautiful with views of mountain ranges in sight. I would definitely come back again.

There is no cleaning of the rooms daily, no towel replacement even though the sign in the bathroom states to put the towels on the floor if you want new towels and no one replaced them. We didn’t know that we needed to bring them to the front office. There was a loud bang throughout the day every day and we are not sure what it was. There were people hanging out outside and smoking a lot so we couldn’t let fresh air in our room, same people grilling with charcoal that was smoking. Pool hours were shortened from what used to be. Soaps and shampoo are generic and petite. Stains on carpets, dish drain was dirty, bar of used soap under bakers rack in kitchen, no one collected the trash so we needed to bring to the dumpster ourselves. Not many tv channels, wifi was sporadic, too. Bethel, ME is a lovely place to visit, even though we stayed at this resort many times in the last 40 years, I think it’s time we stay somewhere else because it was costly without the services that we expected. And there are many places to stay in an Airbnb which we will know what to expect when we book it and the prices are a lot cheaper per day.

Liked the central location for our explorations of waterfalls in the area. Liked the hot tub, but the jets were weak. Liked that the kitchen table was big. No salt and pepper shakers , There is no big frying pan for pancakes. No backups of toilet paper or paper towels in suite. We kept forgetting to ask for it. No light in the stairway.

Good internet connection Asked for and was confirmed a 1st floor room but ended up on second floor upon arrival; No rooms available so stuck with second floor. Staff i asked about this didnt know anything, can't find out why we were moved... basically it's take what we got and like it. I reserved this room well in advance, and as I said, the accommodation was acceptable and verified so I don't feel there's any reason why it never happened
- gtfelder (10/5): Roomy and cozy at the same time - Great place to stay, especially if you're skiing Sunday River, which is maybe 10 min away. I loved the amount of space in the living area - plenty of room to spread out between the dining table, kitchenette, and couches, with room to stash your boot bags out of the way in the corner. The lodge area was also great, with comfy seating by a fireplace, nice ambiance, and even an acoustic guitar on the wall for folks to pick up whenever they want.

- Narodowy (9/5): River View Resort is a nice, simple, and convenient place to stay near Sunday River. - The apartment was clean and nicely laid out. It was just the right size for a family of four. It was very close to Sunday River for skiing - just down the road! The kitchen supplies were very minimal, although you could ask for some supplies at the office. I suggest bringing your own supplies, like salt and pepper, too. Also, the walls are thin and you can hear your neighbors.

I bought a bathtub mat to avoid slipping in the one piece fiberglass shower unit. I think the toilet had a drip as there was regular dripping sounds but no water anywhere. And toilet had to be plunged a couple times as it was not a very powerful flush. But all in all a very comfortable and convenient facility for my 9 day stay.

- Journica (8/5): Can't Beat The Location - My son and I have been coming to River View for about six years now to ski Sunday River. We love being so close to the mountain, and our little unit - while not at all "fancy," is comfy. We've stayed up at The Jordan before, but nothing beats being with family in a shared space, and having our own kitchen is a HUGE plus. There's also an indoor pool, and we always use the hot tub. Irene has been the manager for as long as we've been coming, and I was sad to learn that she'll soon be leaving. She's done a good job, and is a lovely person. We're hoping her replacement will be just as nice.

Staff was very nice and helpful. My kids loved the pool and hot tub. We were there specifically to ski at Sunday River and the drive was under 10 minutes. Structure outdated. The people staying above us sounded like they were stomping through the ceiling. Extremely thin walls/ceilings. We were kept awake at late/early hours by this and did not rest.

Kitchen is bare bones -only one cooking knife, one cutting board, etc. We had to buy a few items to make it easier to cook meals. But it has all the necessities.
