- Alexander (10/5): Heerlijk !!! - Locatie heel prachtig-zeer zeer goede keuken ! Niets , want we wisten dat er geen ontbijt was , maar een goed adres opgegeven door de uitbater !Aan te raden!!! Het is een beetje verder gelegen : The Cockerel !!!
- Mary (9/5): Traditional, friendly, great food, clean - Great location for Rye, Battle Hastings etc Very noisy late at night unfortunately due to noise from clients and music playing
- Darren (10/5): -
- Nicholas (8/5): nice and friendly - great food. Nice and warm. staff and locals very friendly. room 3 above bar so noisy at night. no breakfast available plus they didn't service your room
- jd (3/5): wont stay again - room layout was good and clean car parking good nice bathroom and large bed. restaurant closed for refurb we were not told this when we booked .We chose this hotel for the restaurant. staff told us no nearby restaurants but there was . Coffee machine was intermittent as show by staff but then we got it working ok.
No heating in the room radiator stat valve not working so a cold room until 11 pm then it came on IN FEBRUARY !!
pointed this out to the owner in the morning and basically was told that it all worked OK and we did not know how the heating valve worked, but the stat wasn't screwed on to the pipe and the bath room also had no heating.(i have fitted heating systems in a past life).
i suspect the boiler was not turned on until 11 pm.
We did get a £5 discount from the owner but no real apologies
- Josie (10/5): Welcoming, comfortable and beautiful. - This was the most friendly pub my husband and I have ever stayed in. The staff and owner were great. The customer at the pub were also great. The food was 10 out of 10. Can’t wait to go back. Nothing
- Wendy (9/5): Nice pub, friendly staff . - Good location for Rye. Breakfast not available.
- Anna (8/5): Met expectations. Price was just a tad high considering no breakfast but it was booked last minute. - The staff were super friendly and honest. Room was very warm.
- Stephen (8/5): Very friendly and attentive owner and staff -
- Sarala (7/5): Overall it was good and was at a very convenient location. - The staff were friendly and helpful, it was convenient as a short distance from the wedding venue. We were the first one to check in so we were given an opportunity to choose the room and the room was a nice double bedroom with a big bathroom. It was a nice sunny day the next day and a very nice beach only at 15 minutes drive, enjoyed morning walk. I think the price is a bit high without breakfast but we understand that they are helping other businesses because it's a small place. We were told the room was ready but It needs improvement on cleaning especially bedding as I found hairs on the pillowcase and bed and spiderwebs on lights. I would like to recommend softer (cotton) bedding material and a bit harder mattress, I know it's my personal choice but I think most guests will appreciate it.

- Ihnat (10/5): -
- Robert (4/5): - No breakfast and evening no dinner that late open 7 to 8pm
- Kayleigh (10/5): - Lovely, helpful and friendly staff, the most comfortable, huge bed and great value Absolutely nothing.
- Andreas (10/5): Schöne Unterkunft für die Durchreise.sehr zu empfehlen - Saubere Unterkunft über einem Pub. Schönes Zimmer mit Bad und allem was man braucht. Sehr nettes Personal. Da es an einer Straße liegt, war es durch die Autos schön früh etwas laut.
- Paul (9/5): We will stay again. - Great food and very friendly staff, always served with a smile. An option for breakfast would be nice but realise with only 3 rooms it would not be cost effective to have staff in just for 6 servings so not really a problem.
- Lesley (9/5): Perfect overnighter - Perfect location - we attended a wedding nearby Nothing not to like 😊
- Emile (10/5): Very happy, will return - Perfect location Nothing to mention
- chris (9/5): - Left before breakfast
- Andrew (5/5): Short stay, wasn't aware no breakfast, evening meal was slow and poor service, chips crap. - Comfy bed, good shower. Carpet had not been cleaned, dead flies and sweet wrapper foil on floor
- Bryan (8/5): - Great hosts and good food and drink at reasonable prices.
- Colin (8/5): Ok for a short stay - We were late arriving but the owner arranged a meal.

- River (9/5): Comfy and welcoming- try the food!! - A lovely pub with comfy and welcoming rooms. The staff were amazing; so accommodating, welcoming, and friendly. The food in the pub was fantastic and the atmosphere was lovely. A big shop 2 min drive away and beautiful country lanes around. Loved the birds singing in the morning. Thank you for a great stay!
- Jonathan (10/5): An enjoyable eve followed by a quiet comfortable night. - Excellent restaurant attached to a local pub. God food, good selection of beers and good company. Nothing
- Tony (10/5): Clean, spacious and welcoming, we had a lovely 2 night stay - Incredibly warm welcome on arrival. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable with a fantastic bathroom.
- Rebecca (10/5): What a gem - What can we say. Amazing room. The attention to detail was marvellous. Bathroom had a great shower, lots of hot water and pressure. The in house dining was better than 5 star. Marc is an outstanding chef. Freshly prepared each day. Have never had better. Overall I will highly recommend this place. 10/10 Absolutely nothing.

- Ross (10/5): Friendly local pub with excellent food lovely clean and modern rooms just a little north of Rye! - Mark, Steve, and the whole team couldn’t have made us feel more welcome! This is a proper, charming pub with lovely, chatty locals who made us feel right at home. The food was absolutely excellent – I highly recommend the black pudding Scotch eggs with perfectly oozy, runny yolks., I hope I don't get in trouble but we had an off menu beef item which we shared which was cook to absolute perfection! We all had such a wonderful time and can’t wait to come back in the summer!
