Guest Reviews
- Jordan (10/5): -
- Taylor (4/5): I believe I was let down this time with my stay. - I love the view. I love the comfort of the rooms. The staff at the front desk are lovely It was my honeymoon and I booked one room and it wasn’t even ready or available when I got there. Got another room and it didn’t have a working shower and then I got charged extra money to move rooms
- Bruce (10/5): -
- Cecelia (10/5): Great stay can’t wait to go again - Having a restaurant right downstairs The doors were pretty thin and you can hear everything in the hallways
- Shelby (5/5): -
- Ben (10/5): -
- Dean (3/5): Noisy - In need for repairs Location
- Mike (1/5): Wouldn’t recommend that anyone stay at this place! - Very run down and old. I took one look at my room and the lodge overall was terrible left, didn’t even bother staying the night. Everything
- Geoffrey (3/5): Not worth it with other numerous, peaceful options nearby. - The floor above was incredibly loud. Paper thin floors. Light shining through the blinds all night. Loud camping parties in the only area to enjoy the creek. No remote for the tv (no tv service as a result) and the staff came by for 5 minutes and left when the control couldn’t be figured out (on the first night).
- Mike (4/5): - Location Seemed to have lack of maintenance. Broken windows, our bathroom exhaust fan made a horrible noise. Just overall upkeep
- William (6/5): - Location Couldn't see creek from suite
- Tina (10/5): -
- Charleen (7/5): - The motel style rooms are much nicer than the interior rooms. The interior rooms, our initial room, was very small, dark, and old.
- Candace (8/5): -
- Lillie (10/5): -
- Jeff (7/5): -
- Brian (10/5): Would stay here again - Spacious room Wi-Fi wasn’t really working
- OELLERICH (10/5): Stream in back was great and so was the fire pit. The bar/restaurant was convenient and friendly - Location is beautiful and access is easy. Quiet and clean Ice machine
- George (10/5): - Good location
- Mark (5/5): nice location, unfortunately, poor quality beds, poor customer service - location was good customer service
- Preston (10/5): -
- Jessica (8/5): We loved our stay at Smoky Falls Lodge - We loved our stay at Smoky Falls Lodge. We were able to have a connected room with our friends which we loved and we enjoyed the Tavern. My only complaint would be, my 3 year old got the stomach bug and started throwing up at 11:30 PM and we had no extra blankets, sheets, or towels. Luckily my sister and her husband were also staying there and brought us some towels at 1am. If there isn’t a way to contact someone for assistance in times like these, maybe each room could have a set of extra sheets? All in all we had a great time.
- Miles (3/5): Not great. Will not recommend nor visit again. - Nice location and rate. The first room we were assigned (101) was not clean. The beds were not made, toilet must have overflowed and contents were still visible, all windows were open, and tub was visibly dirty. There was trash outside in every open space on the property, like a broken ceiling fan, broken lawn chairs, etc. The actual garbage can right outside the lobby was overflowing the whole time we were there. I also got several bites from some kind of bug in the bed. :(
The walls inside our room had lots of visible damage, missing paint and big holes.
- Kevin (7/5): -
- DAVID (10/5): It was great! When I return I will stay here. - I had breakfast in my room. It was fine
- Theresa (9/5): Great location, perfect for my needs. I liked the decor and tavern - Did not eat breakfast at hotel No issues
- Todd E (7/5): -
- Benjamin (4/5): Was worth a shot, won't stay here again. Much better properties for only a little more money. - Handy location. Bed was comfy. Having a bar/restaurant on site is a plus, if the food is good. Room was musty and smelled. Had to wait for service at the front desk constantly, which I needed both days (to check in and to replace a key card). Building was noisy. AC didn't work well at all. Restaurant had a very basic menu and nothing was very good and there were no alternative options within walking distance.
- Frederick (10/5): -
- Darlene (7/5): I would stay here again, the room was cozy. - Location was on the main road and easy to find. Close to shopping and eating. We didn’t care for the live music out side on Friday night. They started at 6:00 and It was very loud and not easy to listen to. On the plus side they stopped at 9:30. The creek behind our room was nice. The noise from the room above us was too loud.
- Amy (10/5): We can't wait to return!! - The location was perfect!! Right on the river, and having a bar was a bonus too
- Mary (10/5): My stay was relaxing, comfortable, and awesome. - The Mountain view is breathtaking and sitting by the creek is so relaxing and my room was very spacious and comfortable. I think the guests staying at the lodge should have an area just for parking because of the restaurant and bar visitors take all the space.
- William (8/5): Kicked Back - Friendly atmospher The TV in one of the rooms did not work properly and the staff was unable to fix or replace it.
- Jennifer (6/5): - The river Too loud
- Jacob (10/5): -
- David (6/5): - Great location for my visit to Wheels through Time and Tail of the dragon Very dated. Ready for many upgrades
- Ellen (9/5): -
- Roger (9/5): -
- Jason (6/5): Everything's was great except the dirty floor. - Room was big and had plenty of room. The restaurant is great good The floor of the room was gross. Could not walk barefoot.
- Cheryle (10/5): - Convenient location Nothing
- Alice (9/5): -
- Brandon (9/5): great place to stay for our bike trip -
- Missy (8/5): - Very nice. Pretty view of the creek. Loved the room. It was exactly what we needed. Nice view of mountains too.
- Whitney (10/5): -
- Mulay (8/5): Nice cozy hotel.perfect for family. - Location and 2 seperate bedrooms for family of 4. House keeping didnt come to clean thw room in 4 days stay.
- April (10/5): MOUNTAIN GETAWAY - Location, cleanliness and staff comfortable mattress
- Tina (10/5): Loads of fun - The country look Great restaurant
- oliveira rodrigues (9/5): - Da localização, do bar dentro do hotel Limpeza de áreas comuns, corredores do hotel
- Kimberly (7/5): Didn't love it but was decent. - We loved the friendliness of the locals, they were so welcoming. Check in was seamless and was greeted with friendliness. You could hear people walking in the hallways, was hard to sleep. I Felt like we were an inconvenience to the bartender in the tavern.
- Tiffany (10/5): -
- Camila (10/5): Excelente -
- Leanne (6/5): - The location. The view. Room was nice and big. Fire place didn't work and no one told us. It said we would have a view of the creek and we did not. The beds were not comfortable
- Samantha (10/5): -
- Christina (8/5): - Staff and location Heat was not on when we got there so the room was very cold
- John (8/5): -
- Guest (8/5): -
- Lesia (6/5): The Tavern is a nice amenity, the lodge is old and need some TLC. We will be back once they update. - Convenient location, friendly staff Needs updating, beds not comfortable, road noise, furnishings are old, no where to sit comfortably in the room, a/c-heat unit is noisy.
- Stanford (10/5): -
- Joseph (7/5): -
- Richard (8/5): Place was great. Only complaint were the group of young girls staying in the room next to me. Very noisy sounded like th - Room was big, clean. The tavern at the facility Walls were very thin could hear everything going on next door.
- Darrell (7/5): We love staying here Everytime were in town. The convenience of the restaurant in the same building - The price was great and staff were very friendly! The beds could have been a little more comfortable.
- Clint (10/5): -
- Tracy (10/5): - Old look The noise at night above my room 106, no sleep 1st night told the staff she said I don't know and the pot smoking smell in the hall way was redidlous
- Jacob (10/5): - It was very cozy I did not like people jumping up and down above us keeping me awake
- Lisa (9/5): Love this place - I love the cabin look Our room was on the second floor and we had to walk the stairs, no elevator, which was not good for my husband or me. Next time if we stay, we gotta make sure we get a room on the ground level.
- George (1/5): - The location on Jonathan Creek. We had no housekeeping of any kind. We saw a couple of housekeeping staff but they never asked us if we needed anything. I went to the office to get tissue. However, I must say the young man at the front reception was courteous.
The bathroom receptacle didn't work so there was no place designed to do hair etc.
The gutters definitely need to be cleaned, actually the entire property needs repair or some sort of cleaning.
I didn't like that the Tavern connected to the motel was basically the local bar. It got really crowded.
I wouldn't recommend this establishment.
- Cline (5/5): - Location is great and they got a bar and grill If you stay In the stone part of the building the walls and ceilings are paper thin and it sounded like barnyard the movie upstairs, come the next morning we had to go .
- BIRGE (3/5): Probably will not stay there again. - Did not have breakfast there. Location was fine. The outside of the facilities could use some upgrades gutters was stopped up. The overall all cleanliness of the outside appearance needed some upgrades in my opinion. The fireplace did not work. Very hard to get up with someone at the service desk.
- Mark (3/5): For one night was ok - The booking price is for the older area. They tried to upsell to different building which we should have done had we known. No internet in older building. No TV. No hair dryer. We had someone rattling our door at 2am. The main door to building does not lock. See above. Upgrade to new area - Booking price is for older building- no internet- no tv- no hair dryer- no security. Had someone rattling door knob at 2am

- Wendy (10/5): - The staff was excellent and the bar in the hotel was a plus. Just need more help behind bar. When a bar is full especially on weekend at least two should be behind bar. Hard getting waited on. Nothing i didn't like just need to help bar.
- Tina (10/5): - The location is great. The staff was very accommodating. The grounds are beautiful with plenty of parking. We had dinner at the adjoining tavern and it has really good food and pricing.
- Lewis & Sonja (9/5): -
- bryant (8/5): - Great location and a great value ! Nothing bad about it
- Susan (10/5): - This is a quaint, rustic lodge nestled in the middle of Maggie Valley. It has a Tavern on site with great food, drinks, and entertainment with seating inside and out. There is a creek that flows behind the lodge with tables to sit and enjoy the sounds of the flowing water. There is an area separate from the restaurant to walk your dogs and enjoy a cozy fire near the creek. All staff were polite and courteous. Rooms were clean and quiet. Close distance to attractions and shopping, and only about 30 minutes to Cherokee. I really enjoyed our stay and will be back. Couldn't figure out where an ice machine was located.
- Brenda (7/5): ok.no one was there for us to check out - location a smoke electrical fire during our stay
- Mitzi (10/5): - We love that it is an older property that has had a wonderful facelift. The rooms are large, spacious, and well appointed. The restaurant was fantastic.
- Edna (6/5): - no elevators, I had broken my ankle that day on the way up. When we drove up. I asked about our room. She said it was second floor I said I had a bad ankle and it was hurting. She said we have one for 3 nights. We needed 4. On these sights you should state if they have elevators, my husband has heart issue and COPDand had to carry all our stuff up and down stairs. We also had to call down to the front office twice to get these children that were running all over the place. We had to leave early I would like to see if we can get our 2 days back due to my ankle. Other than that the motel was very quint and older on the creek. The lay out of the room was nice, no closets to hang your clothes.
- Diana (10/5): - Great and clean room..excellent service,
- Stacy (10/5): - It was very relaxing.having the bar/restaurant right there was convenient.food and atmosphere were great
- Betty (5/5): -
- Debra (10/5): - Great place to stay! Very clean rooms. Great staff. Food and drinks at the
bar ended our night perfectly before heading back to our room. Bed was comfortable and room was quiet.
- james (9/5): We had a great experience and will definitely come back to stay again. - Really liked the lounge, great atmosphere, good people. The room was really clean too. The tv channels were not that good, only basic. I had to go the lounge to the games.
- Andrea (10/5): - Beauiful old motel. Love that there was a bar and restaurant there. Food was good. Had a band playing outside.
- Scott (8/5): - Very nice Lobby that is not being used. Nice area to sit and chat with a cup of coffee by a fire would be relaxing. An outside light was so bright through the window, I had to tack up the bedspread to block light to sleep. Overall a good stay with some motorcycling friends.
Would still recommend. Thanks,
- Anthony (7/5): Had a great time - Location was great. On 10/4/25 we were trying to Leave and we were Locked out of our room and had to wait 45 minutes before we could get back in our room. Nobody was on the property to help us with getting in our to get our riding gear. So a little disappointed with that.
- Jennifer (9/5): - Love the location, the room was big enough for our family, the bar had great food and drinks (inside or creekside) and the view was breathtaking Nothing
- Scott (7/5): - Location and having the Tavern on site. Had a few meals there and watched some games. The covered bike parking was great too. You have a nice Lobby, but aren't using it. Should have a fire going at night and some Coffee to offer guests. Could be a comfortable place to sit, relax and chat.
- Ulysses (10/5): - This is a hidden gem 10 out 10 recommend
- Phyllis (10/5): - yes
- April (7/5): -
- Hunter (10/5): - Front desk person has a attitude
- Don (4/5): - Let me start with what was wrong...No toilet paper holder-broken bracket on the wall. Broken coffee maker button so you had to plug it into the wall to get it to work. A/C and heating units didn't work properly. Door into my room was where my wife couldn't open it or shut it because the door stuck at the latches so you had to slam it to close. Had floor lamps in the room with no plug to plug it into. Had to wait about 10 minutes to get any hot water to start coming out of the shower head. On the good side, the lady at the front desk was very friendly..the room was clean and the bed was fairly comfortable. Don't think I'll be going back.
- Daniel (8/5): - The room was comfortable. When we first got there the room was cold so we turned off the AC. However, when we returned the room was warm and we could not get the AC to work properly. Would not stay on long enough to cool the room. Also, our room faced the parking lot and the lights outside made the room a bit bright. The blinds are not dark enough and there are no curtains.
- Denise (10/5): - Country feel.
- Karen Bean (8/5): Nice place to stay and staff was friendly - Loved the location and it was a good! We had a small mishap on the last morning, but it worked out.
