Guest Reviews
- Sam (8/5): Okay just for a night - The place was okay for a night, my room had some trouble with mosquitoes, so that was not my favorite
- Shine (4/5): - too many mosquitoes in the room. no desk to study, no chair
- Santi (6/5): - Book online first if you see good price because at the counter they'll charge you 500.000.00 kip
- TeaMuch (2/5): DON’T RENT A MOTO HERE - DO NOT and I repeat, DO NOT rent a moto from this place. They are unsafe pieces of junk. The transmission blew out on mine en-route to Pha That Luang.
I called the hotel and was told to “go slowly….you fine”. Having no transmission made that pretty simple as I couldn’t move at all. I was told to “check around where you are” for help getting the moto back to town. I called back to explain that the only thing within sight were watermelon vendors and I needed help arranging a truck to come pick us up. He began to get hostile and yell “I all by myself…..you lose bike you pay”
I convinced a driver hauling rice to give us a ride back to town. Fortunately the little rat who rented me the scooter didn’t say a word and handed me back my passport without incident.
I loved my time in Laos and the people are among the best I’ve met. With the exception of the staff at Memory Hotel.
DON’T rent a moto if you value your time, life, and peace of mind.
- James (4/5): - Only good thing is it's location.
- Zitao (8/5): - close to the interested sites, the price is consistent with the cleaness of the hotel.
- V4660LXrogerh (10/5): Amazing Value 100 meters to Mekong River from $13 Night including Breakfast - Myself and my Son 11 years have been staying with Ken & Fon 1 month now and feel like part of the family.
Have also met some great new friends staying here on Memory's lock-down special offer which is the best value in Central Vientiane only 100 meters to Mekong river and all attractions including shopping, restaurants + the amazing night market and fair which is very child friendly and fun for adults also.
Nice breakfast juice + eggs any style.
Travel Agency and Motorbike rentals.
Walk in rate $15.

- senorsabadingo (2/5): Possibly the worst hostel / hotel on the planet! - Disgusting in absolutely every way. Booked this place for one night only ( if I had read all reviews I really wouldn’t have, my own fault ). Just awful, rude staff, dirty room, bugs, shed loads of mosquitoes, dirty linen - stained, manager sat getting boozed up with his mates, fights and shouting throughout the night, dismal breakfast, absolutely awful!! Have spent many years traveling and hosteling, this trip with my family for 3 months so far, and my 8 year old daughter wouldn’t speak to me for ages!!!! Don’t go, don’t waste your money, read the reviews!!!
Sack everyone, deep clean and refurb or just shut the doors. You give hospitality a whole new meaning! I honestly think a Venezuelan jail would provide a better service.
- Samuel_J_Russell (2/5): DO NOT stay here - it's awful - This is one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed in. We paid £40 for two nights but this hotel isn't worth £5 a night, let alone £20. I don't know where to start - no lift, dirty room with dilapidated furniture, the sink tap was broken, no hot water and even the curtain rail hadn't been fixed to the wall straight. There weren't any towels in the room either and we had to ask for some - apparently they'd forgot to put them in the room. If that wasn't enough the walls are very thin and we could hear somebody having sex loudly in the room next door for several hours while we were trying to sleep went down to reception to complain to the security guard. Unbelievably he came up to our room, barged in without asking and proceeded to tell us we should just deal with ths noise because it isn't a five star hotel. I was so astounded by the cheek of the man I started shouting at him and we left with the keys and checked in somewhere else. When we returned the following day we were reimbursed for the day we now wouldn't be staying there but that was the least they could have done and it doesn't change my opinion that this hotel is an absolute s**t hole and if I could give it a zero out of five rating I would.
- YuriH116 (10/5): Nice, cheap hotel - Nice hotel with helpfull, English speaking staff. The young lady working at the desk was the owner, found that out the next morning. She made sure I got a nice room.
The rooms aren't 100% soundproof though, but the price made up for that.
They serve a typical, modest Lao hotel breakfast where you can choose between juices and egg styles. I don't remember if they had a veggie option though.
Great hotel in the center of the city and near the Mekong river.
- Sfcfrancis (4/5): Quote rooms - I stayed here with my friends, we explore laos and it was nice, the staff are not accommodating, lobby, rooms and not well cleaned. .
Hotel is nearby the night market , so you can have a walk for shopping
- matrock667 (10/5): Good hotel - Staffs were well versed in English. Rooms were ok.
Priced at USD36/day , I’d say it is overpriced.
Halal Muslim Food right opposite the hotel that opens til 10pm.
Walking distance to the night market(2mins). Super long stretch of shops selling cheap stuffs by the Mekong overlooking Nong Khai, Thailand.
Hard Rock Cafe’s Rock Shop Vientiane is within walking distance too.
- nomasaussie (6/5): Basic accommodation - Small basic room with wet bathroom. Unfortunately room needed a number of repairs to bring it up to scratch. Odour from the bathroom when the shower was running probably due to blocked drains.
Basic breakfast provided, but don't expect a great deal of food. Air-conditioner and fan in room.
Overall, ok for a one nighter and close to esplanade and night market.
Staff were friendly and made every attempt to make you comfortable.
- laraw982 (10/5): Very helpful staff. - The staff were quick to help me when I walked in needing some help with my flight out of Vientiane. They helped me understand paperwork and Phone helped me book a new flight. Great hotel and great service! Very thankful for their help.
- kevinhesari100 (10/5): Great location - comfortable rooms - A group of 8 of us stayed here and we were pleased with the convenient location, as we were close to lots of great restaurants and some cool bars. I highly recommend visiting Tysons kitchen for some comfort food that will remind you of home.
The rooms are a good size and the beds were nice. Staff was also very helpful.
- 192bradleyr (10/5): Great location - Hotel is in a great location with plenty of shops and restaurants. Bed was comfortable and the room was affordable. Scooter rental is available which super convenient if you like avoiding tuk tuks like me. Would definitely recommend to fellow travelers through Southeast Asia.
- ConnorRobertson086 (10/5): Great - Great hotel, very comfortable and extremely friendly staff. Very comfortable rooms. Will definitely return. Great location, near good restaurant and bars. Could not have asked for friendlier staff and was made to feel comfortable.
- X573LZtaylors (8/5): Good time - I love this hotel, it has an incredible location and the staff recommended the best places we could go to eat and do activities. Overall, definitely worth it to stay here! The rooms are clean and private
- rachaelh_13 (8/5): Great hotel - This is a great hotel, in a really good location. Its really close to the night Market and all the bars/ restaurants. Staff are really friendly and the rooms are comfortable - big bed and hot water shower.
- megangE5582XH (8/5): Very nice and friendly hotel - I was brought to this hotel because my initial hotel was overbooked but I was pleasently surprised. I got a single room instead of a double and the sheets had some stains, but I’m not really one to complain after all the hostels I’ve stayed in. After one day the aircon broke and they gave me a free upgrade to a massive double room. The beds are super comfy and the shower pressure in both rooms were great. Very friendly staff too!
- AdamJacko91 (10/5): Great Hotel! - A great hotel, very clean and very good value with extremely friendly and helpful staff, situated perfectly in the city centre on Vientiane. They also serve a great breakfast. Very highly recommended.
- L9158NIdannyp (10/5): Lovely place - I only stayed here for one night but it I was very comfortable, Really lovely place, right in the middle of all the night life and many things to do near. Nice clean room, hot water , delicious food, I would recommend :)
- thewanderluzt (8/5): LOCATION NEXT TO NIGHT MARKET! - The hotel location is next to many restaurants and just 5 minutes walking distance to the famous Night Market. Bike rental services are available on the same street and I used it to go to Patu Xai and Talat Sao Mall wich is about 15-20 minutes bike ride. Do not expect the room to have a great view or 5 star service for the price you paid. But if you need a clean bed, clean toilet , and decent breakfast, this hotel provide these for you. The room has a window but blocked by the wall of the building next door. However, the hotel provided amenities such as a toothbrush, shampoo, soap, tissue paper, and complimentary water daily. The room has a dresser, Cabinet, and a hairdryer which is a plus for lady traveler.
- ChucC4 (10/5): good staff good location - Very welcoming staff. Rooms and beds are comfortable, we enjoyed walking so I walked from the hotel to the major attractions in Vientiane. we noticed a bicycle or Motor bike rental at this hotel , many bars and restaurant close by the hotel which is another option for getting around to the sites.
- Jeanokiwi (2/5): Dreadful - Don't let the 'tidy' reception area fool you. This hotel is overpriced and refuses to deliver anything for the money you pay. The room we were offered had plywood walls meaning every sneeze from the room next door could be heard, not to mention any programmes they were watching on TV. Internet was poor at best, service was worse. Staff are clearly unhappy and discord among them rings through the breakfast area. And as for breakfast...save yourself some Kip and go elsewhere...this place is a dump.
