Guest Reviews
- Ben (10/5): 5* would recommend - Really friendly welcoming staff, in an idealistic location only 15 minutes from lake Como. Views from the balcony were amazing would defiantly stay again
- Verified traveler (10/5): - A recommander chaudement !
- Dr. Friedbert (10/5): Tolle Unterkunft - Ein sehr schönes typisch italienisches Hotel.
- ethanp540 (10/5): Good price, great food and great service - Spent my first night in Italy here and when I arrived I was given a fantastic pasta, a cold birra moretti and a big plate of Prosciutto and melon (just what I needed after the long flight from California). The rooms were quite small and so were the beds, but the price was fantastic and I was very comfortable so it was not a problem. Every morning we were given free bread and tea and the family that owned and ran the hotel were always available and extremely nice. This was the best hotel I stayed it while in Europe. It had the best food, the best service and the best price.
- vera paula (10/5): Boa - Boa
- Gerhard (10/5): - Sehr freundlich Empfangen!
waren sehr zufrieden
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Personnel sympathique.
- Verified traveler (4/5): An old hotel and not a charming one. - The hotel is old. It is family owned/managed. It hasn't been taken care of for a long time.
- K1632VRdavidg (8/5): A warm Welcome - I stayed at this hotel for a short business trip recently. The staff had a very warm welcome for me and could not have been friendlier during my short stay. The location of this hotel was ideally placed for me - around a 10 min drive to Lake Como up a winding but scenic mountain road. I wanted to be near enough to Lake Como but far enough away to get some charm, peace and quiet, no queuing traffic and a little character and San Fedele Intel is a beautiful little village with some really lovely restaurants and some amazing views.
My first floor room was very good. Single bed, comfortable and clean. Hot shower, tv, lots of space to hang clothes and a balcony that backed out onto the rear of the hotel away from the main road - the views from the room over the panoramic mountains was absolutely amazing and so relaxing and soul replenishing.
The hotel was fairly busy and I stayed on a room only basis so did not eat here but it had a very large restaurant and private bar attached to it too where I enjoyed a few beers and watched a world cup game here. The village is a 5 minute walk away and there are lots of cafes, bars, restaurants in the centre as well as a few shops and a charming little church.
This was a great value hotel - basic, clean and did what it said - a good nights sleep, nice warm shower and a very friendly family run business who could not have helped me more. I would not hesitate to go back there and stay.
Titolare veramente cordiale e disponibile
- Verified traveler (6/5): The hotel inside mountains. - The hotel is inside mountains and difficult to reach.
- ZHAT (8/5): Great place to stay - superb views - We drove from Lucern (Switzerland), heading for Milan but the rain on the night was extreme and so we decided to stay the night somewhere - anywhere - along the route. Through online searches, we found this hotel and the price seemed right as did the location for heading to Lake Como the next day. We booked and aimed to reach by 8pm but the rain slowed us down enormously and the roads - more like a mountain hike - up through the hills to the village of San Fedele Intelvi were some of the most challenging Ive driven along!!!
We reached very late - close to midnight - and had phoned ahead to say we would be delayed. The manager was very understanding and instructed us to call him once we arrived - whatever the time. And so we did - at midnight, and he welcomed us with a visible sigh of relief because he too agreed that the rain was extreme.
Clean, comfortable rooms in a dated hotel but the welcoming attitude by the manager/owner more than made up for it. And in the morning, when the rains had finally subsided, the view from the room of the nearby hills was truly magnificent.
Overall: charming hotel which seems to be stuck in 90's decor and feel but the staff are very, very nice and will go out of their way to welcome you and to make your stay as pleasant as they possibly can. Good value too. And the location is far off the beaten track but about 30mins from the shores of Lake Como.
- MathieuVDS (10/5): Very good value, friendly staff - We stayed here for 2 nights. The owner was very friendly and told us we could climb mt. Generoso. Drew a map for a very nice walk. And helped us with lots of other things to get around in the village.
The rooms were basic but clean and comfortable, really everthing you need to rest and visit the surrounding mountains during the daytime!
Recommended!
- moranr500 (10/5): Unique hospitality with great view! - This family-run hotel is located in the mountains between Lugano and Como, With an amazing view from the private balcony of each room. The hotel is just 20 minutes drive to Como lake.
The room was big and clean, good breakfast, the price is very reasonable and the hospitality by Christopher was very kind and warm!!! Near the hotel there are very good restaurants if you want a nice dinner.
We had a lovely time.😊
- nicolaj198 (10/5): The best so far - Great price, fantastic homemade genuine Italian cooking. Great hospitality, wonderful views high up in the hills above Lake Como. We had super time there and would make a point of returning in the future.
- Christoffersen (6/5): Clean and a fantastic view! - It was late and we had not booked anything, but decided to let the GPS handle our hotel choice. The Valle Intelvi has seen its better days and most of the guests are eldery people from Milan, but the rooms were large and clean. The bath rooms well equipped, clean and well functioning. I hate, when you have to struggle for hot water and no pressure on the pipe. The view from our room over the valley and the mountains was just breathtaking. And the owner was such a great person telling the story of the hotel (it is family run) and helping all his guests with calls and everything. We slept well, had a rich and nice breakfast and are an experience richer having been at Valle Intelvi. If you would like to meet authentic Italy, meet the Italians themselves and visit a nice little city up in the mountains, this is it!
- Invo1968 (10/5): Genuine Italian hospitality - My wife, daughter and I have recently returned from a week in Italy, staying in the small village of San Fidele. We stayed in the two star Valle D'Intelvi run by Christian and Gianni Andreali. Rooms were confortable with the most amazing views across the rolling Italian hills. The food was superb and it was great to see this small hotel using local ingredients and produce, especially the local cheese, formagini! We were made to feel very much part of the family which made our stay extra special. This is meant to be a two star hotel but this rating does it no justice at all. Highly recommended if you want authentic Italian hospitality in the heart of one of the most beautiful areas in Italy.
