Tutto come ci aspettavamo.
- Erica (8/5): Still thinking about our time there! - Gorgeous location. Loved the excursions especially with Max, as he always went above and beyond to show us his way of life that he was so passionate about. Still thinking about our time there! I think if you come into the property with the idea that its more like Glamping than Cabin-ing you’ll have better expectations for the commendations!
One thing that could be improved one is that some of the excursions we did, not everything that was in the description online was done (sometimes due to the season), without prior communication or price adjustment.
- Diane (10/5): Exceptional -
- Melissa (7/5): Amazing location, stunning views and wildlife - some areas for improvement in accommodation - The location was amazing, right on the Amazon river with so much wildlife and incredible views. The staff were very friendly for the duration of our stay- special shout out to Luis, Max, and Jason. They were always around to help with anything (despite the language barrier) and very accommodating with any requests as well as being very eager to show us wildlife around the camp. Also the food was great and the fresh juices and coffee were delicious. Overall a really great experience with the staff. The room was the downfall for us. While beds were comfortable, maintenance was lacking- our tap pipe in the bathroom leaked for example when being used, along with multiple holes in the mosquito nets on the walls of the room, which in turn made it an un-relaxing experience to be in the room unless we were in bed under the mosquito net. The roof also didn’t provide adequate protection from the rain at night when it was raining particularly hard - woke up in the middle of the first night with rain falling into the bed so had to get up and move it away from the window as well as alll our belongings. A dry place to sleep is pretty much the most basic requirement especially in the rainforest. Appreciate that we are in the middle of the jungle but some basic wooden shutters on the windows would sort this issue.
- Elena (10/5): Amazing place to visit in the Amazon - The location was incredible and our stay in the tree house was very comfortable. All the staff were very kind and attentive, helping us to decide and arrange tours for everything we wanted to do. Luis even kindly rescued us from a tarantula who had made its home in our room! Arranging a private boat to the hotel was very easy and facilitated by Natura.
- Rojas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Manuela (7/5): pleasant stay - nature and tranquility that we book the room with the private small pool but it was not serviceable and we were not told before arriving
- Sarah (9/5): Beautiful rustic stay, friendly staff, reasonably priced tours - Beautiful location away from the hustle. Lots of birds and pretty views. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Great tours at a reasonable price. Also, the staff helped us get extra cash in Puerto Nariño as we didn’t come with enough. There aren’t banks or ATM’s in Puerto Nariño. But we went to a supermercado in puerto nariño and they did a cash back service for us. We took out $500,000 pesos and they charged us $30,000 pesos for the transaction.
The staff also helped book our ferry back to Leticia for us.
The food was delicious. Lemonade was amazing. And the best coffee I’ve had in Colombia yet.
Our room and washroom were very basic and rustic. There were frogs, spiders, and lots of insects in the room, but the bug net over the bed did its job keeping us away from them at night. We went expecting that we would be essentially camping in the jungle so it wasn’t an issue for us.
My Spanish isn’t very good, but the staff was extremely patient and we were able to get by ok. I don’t know that I would recommend going if you don’t speak any Spanish. The pick up at the dock in Mocogua was a little confusing, but in the end we got there ok. Just waited at the dock a little longer than expected.
The property is very secluded, and we had to rely on the staff to come and go, although they able accommodate all of our requests without any issues. We went in the dry season, so it seemed access was more complicated at this time of year.
The pool and cargo net they show in the pictures is not available for all guests. You have to book that specific room to enjoy those features. So the pictures in the property review are misleading.
Also, the properly information doesn’t mention that it is cash only. We didn’t plan for that.
- Theresa (1/5): Dissapointing - The location is beautiful and staff are kind. Lots of animals to see. Organized transport for us to the hotel. Wrong room given, double booked us and told us we could only stay one night instead of two. Felt ignored the whole stay. Included on only one wxcursion on arrival but not invited to other excursions the next day despite saying this was important to us considering the shorter stay. No running tap water in the room. Room was not as expected with 3 beds, one dirty, one without a mosquito net, and one very small. No outdoor space to sit outside room, no fan in room despite these things being listed in booking. Poor communication between hotel owner and the staff, we were given no compensation and to top it off, we arranged another hotel for the next night a little along the river and we asked for a boat to take us there, which we paid for, but it took us only half way and dropped us at a stop where we had to find another boat and pay again to complete the transfer to our next hotel. We paid everything, messaged the hotel owner to let them know about the situation but they did nothing.
- Meri (7/5): Good - The location in the middle of the Amazonas and next to the river is amazing. There's plenty of wildlife around. THERE'S NO SWIMMING POOL! All the guests had the same issue, thinking that the pool is for everyone, but that's not true. IT'S A PRIVATE pool for just one of the rooms. The owner tried to trick us saying that the pool advertised is actually the muddy lake behind the lodges.
- Laura (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful place, amazing staff, even with a language barrier we really rated all of our activities! Everyone was super friendly and happy to help We didn't realise the pool was private, however we were told the lake was safe to swim in if we wanted to
- Diana (9/5): Once in a lifetime experience - The friendliest and helpful attitude Perhaps upgrading mosquito nets
- Ryan (2/5): Ruined my trip to the Amazon - Good views This is the worst experience I have ever had at a hotel. From the moment I arrived until the moment I left, I did not feel welcomed here. To start, when I got there, the owner had no idea I had a reservation, even though I booked it a week before and had been messaging them the whole week with questions. I was also hoping to do a bunch of tours and activities while there and they did not even know the list of activities that they offered and were not clear on what I was able to do. They seemed like they were hoping I did not want to do any activities and would just sit in my room the whole weekend. They then said that because I was solo, prices for activities would be double the price even though they messaged me the tour options with lower prices the week before. The whole time, I felt like I was burdening the staff with questions and concerns, even though everything they said to me was unclear and frankly rude and dismissive. It just felt strange and uncomfortable.
What made me the most angry was that I messaged them a week before to reserve my boat back to Leticia, and they still did not do it as of the night before my departure. I had to practically beg them to look into it that night. Even worse was the next day, when the boat arrived to pick up other guests, the boat said I never got a ticket reserved. So I would have missed my flight if there were not other guests with reservations and the boat didnt have space to let me on.
In addition to the terrible service, there is also a village close by that blasted music until 6am on the Saturday night. I had to wear earplugs, not because of animals noises but because of loud music in the middle of the jungle! The room also was in need of many repairs, from the leaking sink pipes to the broken shower door. I would have looked past these issues if the hotel staff would have just treated me like a guest.
- Joseph (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anitagonzalez182 (10/5): Perfect stay in the Colombian Amazon - Excellent location for disconnect from everything
Great food
Beautiful scenery
The location is perfect
Plenty of activities to be organized
Very kind personnel, the owners are very gentile
We recommend this place 100% Our room had leeks
The common room could have different types of chairs to hang out and hammocks
Some works to be done in the rooms (the bathroom door didn't close, the shower opener was very tight)
Nevertheless, we had an amazing time, and these weren't major problems to us, just as suggestions for improvement
- Terzi (10/5): What a great experience 💚 - Everything was perfect! The reserva is in a breathtaking place, literally in the middle of the Amazon rainforest, the cabin was comfortable and the food delicious..and there is always something to do, you never get bored! Do not worry..the staff will help you to schedule your activities 😉 Highly recommended! Mosquitos are everywhere! Make sure to have a good mosquitos repellent🦟
- Joy (8/5): A fabulous experience in an authentic and remote location - Everything! We got upgraded on arrival and stayed in a treehouse, which we loved. The staff were caring and did their best to help us, for example when I fell over and when the boat we’d reserved didn’t stop to pick us up. Going for a swim in the lake. We didn’t know in advance that there would be building works taking place. Normally it wouldn’t be an issue, but we’d come to the Amazon for a one off experience and to have quiet. That said Ruiz did stop the builders working when we complained and thereafter they didn’t start in the morning until we had got up, which we appreciated
- Perini (8/5): Very good -
- Laura (10/5): Love it amazing place! highly recommended - I loved the location in the middle of the Amazon jungle, the perfect place to go to the tours, to disconnect, to connect with nature, comfortable rooms, and the excellent guides. Definitely an incredible experience! The food could improve
- Cindy (3/5): Beautiful natural place it can use SET prices and better customer service by the face of the place! - Beautiful scenery and surroundings. You are really submerged in the middle of nature and its beauty. Breakfast is delicious, very tasty. They introduced us to different fruits from the area. Delicious hot chocolate upon request, although if you get there after 8am, they don’t take the time to warm up for you so we had to drink it cold :(
The tours offered are really nice too. The staff for the tours were nice and very informative. They were also very helpful supplying with gear for the walks such as boots and raincoats. Please be aware this is a reserve in the middle of nature. Do not come with high expectations like 5 star resorts. I came to the place very aware of that.
Rooms are in the open air, with some nets to prevent bugs and animals from entering but you still get visitors on a regular basis. They shut off electricity from 10pm-6am so you sleep in humidity all night. No complaints there. What I didnt like was basic things such as getting decent looking towels for us to dry off after shower or even exchanging them daily when they did the room. Not only we got small, thin, old-looking and still damped towels upon our arrival, we had to use the same ones for the three days we stayed.
The selection of food and beverages is very limited and prices were outrageous. I understand prices are not going to be the same as in town because they have to go out their way to get supplies but we were definitely overcharged for our meals, portions were ridiculously small for the price I paid. Especially when we were being told by fellow visitors from within the country, meals were included with their package when they paid a fraction of what I paid to begin with. We even got charged for simple drinking water!
Upon our arrival with my son, I asked for the tours offered. Luis (the guy I dealt with for our entire stay) showed me what they offered on their website with prices through his phone, I even took pics for me to read over and decide after. Once I decided, I would tell him which tour we wanted to do and he would increase the price said on website stating “the prices went up”. During specific tours I chose and paid full price for, other visitors had their meal included when I had to pay separately for our lunch. I understand these places live off of tourism but being a born-Colombian that resides in USA for years, feeling being taken advantage of, or treated differently was sad to see. I did not argue and paid what I was told. It’s not about the money. I felt taken advantaged of.
- Diego (10/5): Exceptional - All the activities offered were pretty entertaining and fun. I particularly enjoyed trekking in the jungle and being able to see so close so many animals. The staff was very friendly as well and the natural vibes of the place are perfect for an amazon trip.
- Nicolás (10/5): Great place to disconnect with the world - The cabins and the nature around Nothing
- Magdalena (10/5): Cannot recommend it enough - Amazing place in a beautiful location. The staff was super friendly and helpful. They helped us organize the boat to get to Reserva and back to Leticia. We did several additional tours with them, exploring the Amazon jungle and the surroundings. They care deeply about local communities. Food was great, two of us were vegans and they adjusted all meals for us so it wasn't an issue. The non-vegan part of our group was also extremely pleased with food, especially with the fish, served in a variety of ways. It is a quiet place, you get to connect with other travelers. Totally the best way to explore the Amazon.
- Dor (10/5): Exceptional - We loved the place , its perfect for isolation
The food is great and thats all i wish i can get The flees only
- Domenic (10/5): Amazing Amazon jungle experience - This place is a beautiful but rustic spot next to the Amazon river. The food was very good, usually fish from the river. At night the jungle birds and frogs sing you to sleep. It’s not a place for the squeamish, we had a tarantula on our ceiling, but the mosquito nets work well and you really get a chance to be surrounded by the Amazon rain forest. The tours they offer are very reasonably priced, but there are also plenty of places to just hang out and enjoy the nature. The common areas were very social and we had some great conversations with the other guests. Also, the staff was especially welcoming and made us feel at home right away. It was really cool to be able to talk to people who live in the Amazon and hear a little bit about daily life here. Overall, this was a huge highlight for us. I didn’t like having to buy so many bags or bottles of water. The price was fine but I felt bad using so much plastic. I don’t know how else to get clean water to a remote location but it would be cool if there was a way to refill water bottles more easily.
- Monica (10/5): I came to experience the jungle, to hear all the sounds to see all the things. The excursions offered were great. The st - It was exactly what I was looking for: isolated in the middle of the jungle. The landscaping and environment in general is perfect. More flexible food options would be great
- Jhon (10/5): Wonderfully magical nature and place - Super very good excellent service I would repeat as many times as it is such a fabulous experience Everything was very good and met all my expectations.
- Quinten (7/5): Good - Great location with magnificent views from the private lodges. Large sized bed, great mosquito net and comfortable bathroom Take great care when booking! You cannot make use of the swimming pool unless specifically booked and additionally paid for. (This even though the property facilities state that there is a swimming pool. If your cabin includes “pool view”, this does not mean you can use the pool..)
During one of the nights, heavy rains caused a substantial leak in the roof, causing the bed to get significantly wet.
- James (7/5): Lovely surroundings - Beautiful surroundings, very calm and relaxing stay, staff were lovely. Loved watching the birds and saw a couple of snakes. They had trips on offer, but we didn't do any. The pictures seem out of date, the rooms were older and in need a bit of a repair. There was a lake to see but no sign of a pool. The bathroom was a bit shabby and not super clean. There is limited option with food. Breakfast, lunch and dinner at set hours, with a set option for food (buffet for lunch).
- Alin (2/5): Very poor - The views They gabe us a tottaly different lodge, without any kind of view.
- Allan (8/5): worth it even with the mosquitoes. they were there before me. great staff - serenity mosquitos
- Emily (9/5): Lovely Experince - I loved that it was truly in the jungle, the property was beautiful and our experience here was wonderful. We loved that we could book tours directly with them and the tours were all great and just with other people staying on the property, so they were small and personal. We saw plenty of birds and even monkeys on the property. The cabins are rustic, don’t expect much.
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hugo (10/5): Amazing, beautiful and fulfilling experience - Great location, experiences offered with native cultures, coherent and beautiful Some acomodations are way better than others and they charge the same price. No internet or pisibility to pay w card
- Nancy (10/5): Awesome! Amazing experience in the Amazonian jungle. Fantastic staff and tour guides! Incredible... - Breakfast was hearty! All meals were yummy: served with an array of fresh jungle-fruit, and always plantains and rice. Daily seafood was from the "rio" naturally! Wonderful variety of preparations with the local edibles, and never a disappointment. Perfect!
- Michele (9/5): Superb - The place is a pure paradise. Max, his family and all the people working there are amazing and very helpful. Special mention for Alberto, and big thanks for sharing his love and knowledge of the “selva”. We will miss you guys!
- Maaike (10/5): Exceptional -
- Naomi (2/5): Very poor - The nature around, but all over the amazonas there is same beatifull nature Bungalows not clean, flees, wide open gaps for insects ans mosquitoes. The only place we could buy dinner was there. No choise at all, only a plate with white. Rice, fried fisf, a slice of tomato and cucumber. No fruit, no soup. Breakfast dull.
Stay in the communities around. Much nicer
- Naomi (4/5): Disappointing - In the jungle, the sound of birds magnificant. Max, the man that worked there was nice. Nice gardens. But go stay in banalows in the near communities. Much more authentic The bangalow was on the ground and not raised, big wholes in the nets an the roof didnt touch the net grate gaps.. Mosiquitoes and insects is ok, we are in the jungle. But the room had flees. yes, my legs were biten to pieces by flees, (not misquitoes, mosquito bites were elsewhere). It was harsh. The room very basic, that was ok. But the flees were a disaster.
Although we resrved an upgraded bungalow with river view or lake view (both upgraded), we got no view, and although other bungalows emptied out the other day they wouldnt let us change, ofcourse,we said we'll pay ghe extra.
Dinner and breakfast you had no choce. No fruit or soup. The dish was defnitly not generouse. I had to pay for a glass of water.
- Alejandra (9/5): Superb -
- Rafaelll2019 (8/5): Beautiful place in the real Amazon jungle - Helpful staff. Good breakfast. Incredible place just in the entry to the real jungle. You have to check available boats. The Last one from Leticia is in the very early afternoon. If you miss it, then you are gone to go to this place as there is no other way to get to the place than boat.
- Roslyn (9/5): it was amazing and the the staff made all the difference. so glad I chose this place - it is remotely on the jungle of the Amazon bordering the Amazon River with the most spectacular sunset views. it’s green and lush. the property is well taken care of and there’s a lot of space in the common area. the staff are the best! they are super friendly, go out of their way for you, accommodating and genuinely very humble and kind beautiful people. they don’t have fans in the room or a huge one in the living area where is hot and infested with mosquitos, but then again it could generate a lot of electricity. they have a treehouse that’s under maintenance for a while. a sofa or couch would be nice to have in the common dinning area for people to sit back and relax.
- Ander (10/5): great and amazing place - the staff are excellent nothing
- Loeke (9/5): Great experience on the edge of the rainforest! - The location was great, you were able to see dolphins passing by right in front of the hotel. There was a lot wildlife to enjoy. in the evening there is not much lightning, do bring a flashlight.
- Monica (5/5): Passable -
