Guest Reviews
- Gillian (9/5): -
- Sophie (10/5): Welcoming, clean , delicious breakfast.đ - A fantastic , clean , welcoming bed and breakfast. Beautiful clean room with quality bedding, we loved the feature window .
Delicious breakfast, we will certainly will visit again , a great location for our Heligan trip . All good .
- Emblem (10/5): A comfortable and clean property with very attentive staff. - Interesting building and comfortable Nothing
- Sandra (10/5): Excellent stay in lovely property. Lovely owners who were very friendly & caring. - Extremely friendly & very helpful
Helped with ideas for eating out Nothing
- Powluk (10/5): - The place is fabulous - so quaint. All our needs were anticipated. Our hosts were so accommodating.
- Gail (9/5): Very very good experience. Tracy and Richard very welcoming. Excellent hosts. - Charming remodeled stone chapel with very nice rooms.

- Tanya (10/5): Much more than just a stay it was a wonderful experience. - Beautifully renovated with lots of history.
- Ceri (10/5): The Best Guest House we've ever had the pleasure of staying in. Everything is high quality!! - Everything. Everything was perfect. Added little thoughtful extras like chocolates by the bed, beautiful aromatherapy toiletries. The breakfasts were simply fantastic!!! Excellent quality coffee, orange juice, breakfast items, yogurts, fresh fruit, etc. Also, I have a bad back, and so worry about bed/pillow comfort, but rest assured (pun intended), the bed and pillows were of high quality and comfort, along with everything else.
We would not hesitate booking The Chapel House again and we offer our sincere thanks for the kindness shown to us during our stay.
We couldn't recommend this Guest house and the wonderfully friendly and helpful owners highly enough!!! Nothing at all.
- Jean (9/5): We would be happy to come again and to recommend it to others. - A good choice of breakfast items, nicely presented. Walking distance of a tourist attraction, a few miles drive to various restaurants. Very pleasant hosts. In our room there was nowhere to sit except on the bed. Otherwise, all great!
- Robert (10/5): Relaxing comfortable stay. - Attractive small guest house. Fabulous room very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Tracy was a superb host and recommended some superb local restaurants. Breakfast was very good quality. Free parking. Faultless.

- William (10/5): Absolutely perfect, our stay was everything we wished for. - Well presented clean very comfortable and quiet. There was nothing I didnât like.
- Maria (10/5): Comfortable , cosy chapel Centrally based - This quaint little place is an ideal base for travelling around Cornwall. Exceptionally clean ( even checked the bannister for dust) airy and bright. We stayed in bedroom 1 and this is at the front of the property. Beautiful chapel windows , extremely comfortable bed and pillows and Iâm fussy.
Had tea, coffee , water and fruit teas on offer within the room and chocolate bars too.
There was also a fan and it was quiet, and there was a tv also with an en suite shower.
Breakfast was amazing , choices of yoghurts, cereals , cooked breakfast , pastries , fruit juices no one can say there isnât anything to eat.
Highly recommended and would definitely stay again . If I had to be very picky , the tv wouldnât work without signing into Netflix etc and the main road was very busy, but Iâm looking to fault find as the place was perfect
- Julie (9/5): 2 day stay in Cornwall - The room was very nice, Tracy and Richard were friendly and helpful. Tracy gave us some ideas for places to visit. Breakfast was great, plenty of choice. N/a

- Nigel (10/5): Came down for a long weekend to see Eden project, only 10 minutes from the guest house.Greeted by the lovely Tracey who - Absolutely beautiful guest house fantastic location so quiet and tranquil
- Sandra (9/5): Comfortable and lovely. - The accommodation and hosts were lovely. The guest house was very well maintained and the hosts were very friendly and accommodating. There was nothing to dislike about the place. Excellent breakfast. I would however, advise that you definitely need a car as it was a little further out of St Austells than we thought. Getting a taxi to get to the car hire wasn't straight forward, luckily the taxi we used from the train station to get to the accommodation gave us her number and she was able to help. Walking hazardous as no street lights, there is also no Uber available. Given that, I would definitely stay again, next time I would be more prepared. Highly recommend Tracey and Richard, wonderful hosts.
We would however like to suggest a sign in the room asking guests to use the wardrobe, rather than finding shoes and clothes put in the wardrobe by others. đ
- Tim (10/5): Exceptional - Everything, It's Cornwall what's not to like ! Seriously though great facilities, comfortable, clean, great shower, the breakfast was fantastic & Richard & Tracey were lovely very friendly, we were made to feel very welcome.
- Karl (10/5): Relaxing and comfortable. - A comfortable, friendly and welcoming environment run by two delightful and down to earth owners. The room and facilities were clean and well appointed. Breakfast was tailored and excellent. Car parking was safe and easy to use.
Everything you need for a relaxing stay. Nothing
- Blaker (10/5): Exceptional - This lovely guest house is very comfortable and clean. Tracey and Richard were so friendly and accommodating. One of our party has certain food allergies and they couldn't be more helpful. Breakfast was delicious. A great stay and we will definitely return. Thank you. Nothing

- Elaine (8/5): A Well-run Base for Visitors Exploring South Cornwall - This is a quaint and tidy guest house with comfortable rooms, an ample breakfast with all the variety a traveler can hope for, plenty of parking, and kind and attentive hosts. We were in need of finding a laundry facility in town, but Tracy let us know she could provide laundry service for a small fee. When we came home from a long day of sightseeing, it was such an unexpected pleasure to find our things laundered and folded and that task taken off of our to-do list. They also provided a list of excellent recommendations for dinner around the greater area. The one downside of the accommodation is its location. It sits relatively isolated on a road traveled by trucks from a nearby mine, and speedy locals. It's not a spot accessible without a car (but I don't imagine many people are visiting South Cornwall without one). Our room was a bit noisy early in the morning, but when the vehicle noise passed, we were serenaded by the songs of many birds in the surrounding forest, and that was nice.
- Jenny (9/5): Superb -
- Keith (10/5): Beautiful Clean Comfy B&B - Location great. Hosts lovely. Felt like a home ftom home. Easy to find & central to where we wanted to go.
- Wanda (9/5): Superb -
- Margaret (10/5): Fabulous - The Chapel Guest House is a little gem. The property is presented to a very high standard and the room was exceptional, beautifully decorated and fantastic attention to detail. Breakfast was lovely and hosts were very attentive and pleasant. Would highly recommend. Could not improve on this - it was perfect.
- Paul (10/5): We had a warm welcome and wonderful breakfast - Breakfast was glorious. Locally sourced and extremely tasty Nothing at all. Perfect in every way
- Claire (9/5): Superb -
- Maggie (10/5): Exceptional - On arrival we were warmly welcomed by the owners. Our room was tastefully decorated and furnished; the bed was most comfortable and the room, due to the guest houses location was very quiet. Having said that the property was far from being remote with easy access to local attractions and town. The following morning we were treated to.a delicious full English breakfast (other options were also available though) which was both well cooked and presented.
We have no hesitation in recommending The Chapel Guest House and definitely plan to stay there ourselves again in the future. Nothing
- Mandy (10/5): Would definitely stay there again and would definitely recommend - Beautiful place, immaculate, great breakfast with a fabulous choice. Very friendly owners with good knowledge of local area/ restaurants. Very comfortable beds in a large room. Bathroom exceptionally clean with lots of fresh white towels and lovely amenities. Coffee/ Tea and chocolates in room were a nice gesture.
- David (10/5): Great place to stay - Wonderful hosts and great breakfast. Clean and well run guest house.
- Kelly (10/5): Excellent in every way - This guest experience was nearly perfect in every way! Tracy and Randy were very accommodating and friendly, with tons of great advice and discussion on the local area. The facility was exceptional, with one of the best showers I've used in all my years of travel in Europe. Randy made a top notch breakfast, with an exceptional crisp to the bacon!
- Mandy (10/5): Wonderful stay with kind and generous hosts - Wonderful stay with a lovely couple who couldn't have been more helpful and delightful. Highly recommended
- jason (10/5): Great Place - Really lovely room, very comfortable bed......pre-ordered breakfast was great...great produce and hot! Will stay here again
- Daniel (10/5): The Chapel Guest House is an exceptional place to stay - Thank you! - The Chapel Guest House is a gem! Hugely convenient for many of Cornwallâs attractions, good parking, lovely rooms, friendly owners and a breakfast feast to go with it.
Please donât try the Cornish sausage though, otherwise there may not be enough left for my next visit! No comments here.
- Jagdesh (8/5): Very good - Host were excellent. Very welcoming and friendly.
Amazing breakfast. TV remote wasn't functioning as it should. Very temperamental.
- Mark (10/5): Interesting and comfy - Itâs a beautiful old chapel, we chose to stay here for our honeymoon. the hostâs are very warm and welcoming making it feel like a home from home experience. Thanks to Richard for the breakfast every morning it was lovely, and thanks to Tracy for your service and hospitality, I would definitely stay here again There is absolutely nothing that I didnât like about the property
- Tj (9/5): Superb - Bedroom was gorgeous! Spotlessly clean!
Very good b.fast! Cooked b.fast was brought out before we had finished eating our cereals, fruit & yoghurt! And not even at the same time! Mine first, followed by my husbands.

- Marc (9/5): Superb - Nice and friendly people. Very clean, good location to visit Cornwall. Need a bit of drive to find someting to eat.
- Katherine (8/5): Lovey place to stay for leisure breaks - The property, location, and host were lovely. Room was clean and comfortable It was unfortunate that dinner was not an option and that breakfast started late in the mornings. Being there for business, rather than pleasure, meant I had to skip breakfast each morning
- Anna-marie (10/5): Fabulous guest house - Everything this was an amazing guest house from the welcome we received from Tracy. The room had everything we needed, just like being at home. The breakfast was delicious thanks to Richard, and the service was so friendly and attentive.
The location was great, able to get out, and about we booked for Eden project, and it was just a short journey. There are plenty of places around to eat in the evening if you need a well placed and informative folder in the room tell you were. We would go back no problem the property is very clean and well kept. Richard and Tracy are the perfect hosts. N/A

- Lynda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mark (10/5): Ownerâs we great people and couldnât do enough for us - It was a lovely property close to the National Trust we needed to deliver to first thing next morning Unfortunately they donât except commercial vehicle as their car park isnât big enough to accommodate them, this wasnât the staffâs fault,as it isnât clear when booking through Booking.com,the ownerâs made room for us to park our vehicle and offered to take us to a nearby pizza restaurant but it was a lovely night so we decided to walk
- Donna (10/5): Loved it - looking forward to returning. - Beautiful property. Rooms spacious and very comfortable. Good parking and great location. Fabulous hosts - very friendly and welcoming. Nothing
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional - Friendly owners, a nice room, and a good cooked breakfast.
- Katherina (10/5): Exceptional - We had a wonderful time with Tracy and Richard! The room was tastefully decorated and clean! The bed was huge and very comfortable! The breakfast was exceptional and nothing was missing. Tracy and Richard are fantastic hosts and Tracy always had great recommendations for things to do with our young daughter. If I could I would give it more than 5 stars.
- Paul (10/5): Excellent stay, will definitely be returning. Hosts were very friendly and helpful. - Great location, clean, friendly hosts and excellent breakfast Nothing
- Fiona (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mond77 (10/5): Sehr zu empfehlen - Friendly hosts. A very nice house, tastefully decorated, with colourful accents in the room (curtains, cushions, ...) inspired by the colour of the sea. Wonderful breakfast, to be ordered in advance, freshly prepared. A bit remote, so you have to rely on a car. But you're happy to accept that for this beautiful accommodation.
- Warren (10/5): Excellent and most welcoming hosts - Breakfast perfect , as good as it gets đ All out expectations were met
- Malin (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent location for a stay, long or short. Very nice and welcoming host and hostess, beautiful house and a very comfortable room.
- Richard (10/5): - Tracy and Richard look after their guests well and nothing is too much trouble.
- Helen (10/5): Exceptional - Tracy and Richard were excellent hosts and went out of their way to help us after we left some items in the room!
I would highly recommend The Chapel Guest House.
Excellent breakfast too.
- John (9/5): Superb - lovely place , parking fine , owners very nice , good breakfast
- Carol (10/5): Perfect! Will stay again! - Everything! The breakfast menu (which you chose the night before) is substantial and covers most dietary requirements. The rooms are excellent, with everything you need. Beds comfortable, and considering by the road, incredibly quiet. The road is fast, and the house is on a slight bend, which made it a bit difficult to exit from. But don't let that stop you from staying here!
- Nola (10/5): Exceptional - Tracy and Richard are wonderful hosts who have great personalities and interactions with guests. There are thoughtful provisions in the rooms in the very comfortable rooms with great beds. There is ample parking and plenty of advice for things to do in the local area. The breakfast was excellent with plenty of hot choices. All in all we would highly recommend The Chapel Guest House. Nothing
- Stephanie (10/5): First experience of Cornwall. - We drove down to Cornwall from Teeside so a 9 hour drive and thankfully the Chapel was a wonderful place to relax and unwind.
Tracy was a fabulous host, very attentive and helpful. She also recommended the gorgeous Charlestown to eat and explore. Absolutely breathtaking.
The room was lovely, very clean and bright and smelt amazing. Shower was hot and powerful (always a bonus!) and the breakfast was delicious. Would highly recommend and stay here again. Nothing. 10/10
- Peter (10/5): A delightful guest house for our four night stay in the area. - Beautiful conversion of an old chapel that is well maintained by the current owners, who are very welcoming, attentive and helpful, offering advice on the area. Canât think of anything negative. Nothing to dislike.
- Alexandra (10/5): A great base for travelling around . - Lovely welcome from Tracey and breakfasts were fabulous! Everything was good.
- Bhavna (10/5): Excellent stay in beautifully converted chapel - Everything was spot on the attention to detail was really good
Breakfast was freshly made & was plentiful N/a
- Al (9/5): Superb -
- Peter (10/5): Exceptional -
- Linda (10/5): You will not be disappointed. Weâd return in a heartbeat. - Beautifully restored property, close to the Eden Project, offering 5 star accommodation and excellent service. Freshly cooked breakfast, made to order. Fully Licensed âGarden Barâ under the garden gazebo allowed us to enjoy a chilled glass (or two) of wine after a long day at Eden. Wonderful recommendations of local eateries and places to visit.
Itâs the little touches that make all the difference. Thank you to our wonderful hosts, Tracey & Richard.
- Susan (9/5): Clean, comfortable and convenient. - The room was very comfortable and clean; breakfast was great; and Tracey was welcoming and helpful. Also the location was convenient. Only that we were tired, going to bed early, and any passing cars on the road outside could be heard.
- Jeffery (9/5): Superb -
- Michael (10/5): Short stay - An amazing b&b. Comfortable bed and lovely bathroom. Everything you need for a perfect stay with a kettle, hairdryer, shampoo, conditioner , soaps and hand and body moisturiser. The tv had extra channels as well. Catch up etc. Breakfast was cooked to order and was lovely. Everywhere was very clean and comfortable. Positioned on a main road there was easy access to st austell, the eden project and the lost gardens of heligan. There us also a pub jyst up the road with super friendly customers. A place to stay to relax and unwind. Vety friendly owners too.
