Guest Reviews
- Arun Ari (10/5): excellent stay. will recommend - Lovely environment. well presented property. well equipped and helpful team All was great.
- Gemma (9/5): -
- Emily (10/5): Beautiful, quiet, property in South Wales with everything you needed. - Beautiful property with everything you needed. There were instructions on how to use things which made it easier too. There was a lovely pub opposite that we went to for dinner one night. Can only access by car as it is a bit in the middle of no where so had to drive everywhere, but that wasn’t a massive problem for us.
- THERESA (10/5): A great stay in beautiful surroundings. - The accommodation was extremely clean and well equipped. The showers were amazing and the heating had been left on for our arrival for which we were very grateful. Nothing.
- selen (10/5): -

- paul (10/5): Fantastic place to stay. Wonderful feel. Will be back! -
- Emyr (10/5): -
- Emily (10/5): Amazing. We will be back. - Great location, with a great pub opposite. The facilities were exceptionally clean and very well equipped. Couldn’t fault anything.
- Dave (9/5): Nice and relaxing - N/A. Self catering Staying with an elderly relative, who was unsteady on her feet, the step into the shower was quite high, no shower mat or grab rail,
Perfectly ok for an able bodied person but in this instance was difficult for her to bathe
- Jeff (8/5): Really nice, would happily stay again., - Very well appointed. Good location for what we needed.. Nothing
- Sandra (9/5): - Accommodation was perfect for us. Everything we needed for our stay. TV in both bedrooms was great. The garden for the grandkids, we couldn't get them in at the end of the day - it was perfect!
Host was such a lovely woman. Would absolutely revisit. Housekeeping needed attention, nothing to spoil our stay, just cobwebs around light fittings.
- Joanne (10/5): Fab holiday home - Lovely little bungalow has everything we needed. Not far to drive into Barry or Cardiff
- Beth (10/5): -
- Gareth (10/5): - Lovely location, lovely owners, comfortable accommodation Nothing
- Vicki (10/5): - Absolutely loved the property, so pretty. The kitchen had everything we needed for a few days stay self catering. My boy loved the garden, the games and the climbing frame, he played out for hours. Beds were comfortable, the whole house was so clean. Location was ideal, we wanted to have a day out in Barry which was only a short drive away-perfect! Gorgeous food in the pub over the road we really enjoyed it there. Thank you for a wonderful stay! The only criticism I have which isnt really anything big but it's the only thing I could think of, which is- a bin in the bathrooms would be beneficial.
- Claire (10/5): - Immaculate accommodation.

- Seonag (9/5): Home from home. - Friendly helpful staff.
Peaceful location with lovely garden.
Two minute walk to a pleasant country pub which did decent food. A dining table outside - if eating in would have liked one inside too. Breakfast bar will be perfectly acceptable to many.
- Kirsty (10/5): - Stunning property situated in a peaceful area, very friendly and helpful with any questions I had. Would highly recommend and will definitely e staying again
- Katrina (9/5): Lovely relaxing stay- nice little touches with the sound system and the game guess who! First time in years playing it. - This is a nice open airy property and nice to relax in.

- Sherry (10/5): Enjoyable early April break - Location is fantastic! We were visiting Barry Island as a family and couldn’t have asked for an easier place to stay. The house itself is lovely, it’s clean and has everything you need for a family.
We wee very lucky with the weather as it was beautiful and very warm for an April break, so we got to use the garden facilities as well.
All in all a very enjoyable stay and would definitely return
- Linda (9/5): A peaceful weekend in a great location - The setting is really good, gardens surround the property. Peaceful even though the pub is across the road. Large, well equipped kitchen with everything you could possibly need. Comfortable area to sit and relax. Very clean, well presented property.
- Abigail (10/5): Exceptional - Stunning, loved everything. Log burner was really cosy. Nothing.
- Becky (9/5): Superb -
- Dylan (9/5): Superb -
- Hudim (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alec (9/5): Very comfortable and quiet plus only 15 mins to the nearest supermarket and 25 mins into Cardiff - Warm, modern, comfortable A little bit too warm when we arrived but we just needed to be patient for the temperature to reach our preference. A couple of the coffee/sugar pots needed washing but that was easily fixed.
- Lizy (9/5): Perfect location for Wedding Venue at Duffyns Spring - loved the location to our wedding venue and the countryside on the doorstep is fabulous - a pair of horses in a nearby field and a lovely pub across the road. The hosts were lovely. We had a super stay as a family visit and everything you could need was there. Very well equipped, cosy and homely. The two main double beds were superb and very comfortable. The pull out sofa bed wasnt too comfortable for my daughter and she did come away with a bad back, so dont rely on that for a good nights sleep or take an extra mattress to lie over the top or perhaps the hosts could provide?!
- Rachel (10/5): A beautiful place to stay. We loved it. - It was in a perfect location for getting to Barry Island which was great for us.
It was such a beautiful house and was so clean and comfortable. There was nothing we didn’t like.
- Andrzej (8/5): I am everything to spend a nice time relax 100% quiet area - very nice house lots of greenery comfortable I recommend 👍

- Muhammad (9/5): This place is perfect . Everyone enjoyed it. - Everything was perfect couldn’t ask for more. Would definitely stay there again in future. Main door need some kind of curtain.
- Keith (10/5): Superb stay, great character. - The accommodation was amazing, for a self catering establishment, it is very well equipped, lovely island in the kitchen with oven and hob, plenty of space to eat. The lounge area was very comfortable, with big screen TV, both bedrooms had comfortable double beds, upstairs en-suite downstairs separate bathroom. Plenty of parking and for those who wish to eat out, the pub across the road has a great selection at reasonable prices.
- Stephen (10/5): More than I expected - Nice and spacious
- Tracey (9/5): We had a lovely time in a beautiful, well equipped cottage - Perfect location for our short stay in South Wale. Huge bonus as a family of 5 was having a washing machine!

The location is perfect, quiet and a short drive to Barry Island seafront.
We hope to return in the future. Nothing
- Emily (10/5): Amazing stay - Everything it felt like home it was super cozy and I loved the shower the blinds are fantastic if you need an evening nap and such comfy beds we all slept all night and definitely will be back again thank you Nothing everything was great
- Tamatha (8/5): - The bungalow was fantastic, very welcoming and clean. The general decor was beautiful.
My only problem was there was too much light in the bedroom. The blinds and curtains didn’t blackout the room. I don’t sleep when the room is too light. But it wouldn’t stop us booking here again.
The house and our stay was truly lovely.
- Claudia (8/5): Wonderful, peaceful location and comfortable, bright accommodation. - The setting and the friendly hosts The pillows
- John (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jade (10/5): Exceptional -

- Stephen (9/5): Lovely get away with nice hosts. - Great hosts, lovely accommodation that had everything you needed there. No wi-fi was working. Struggled to put the heating on. Wi-fi not so good.
- Lekshmi (9/5): Superb -
- Brian (10/5): Spotless - Absolutely spotless, well designed & equipped. Nothing
- Katie (8/5): Very good -
- Anna (8/5): Very good -
- Vicki (9/5): Fabulous! - The hosts have thought of everything! Lovely and clean and everything you could possible need. The sofa bed could do with a better/thicker mattress topper.
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mark (10/5): Oh my Lord, one NOT to be missed! - Private, self contained and a perfect escape. Exceptionally clean and not to be missed. Log burner with an awesome sound plus lighting system in the walls. Open ceilings with wooden beams prepared to an exquisite standard. There is absolutely nothing to dislike or mention here. It’s a must to stay here!
- Tt (10/5): Will stay again for sure - Everything Nothing
- Jan-marc (8/5): Nice, well-equipped luxurious cottage -
- Anonymous (8/5): I would book again, everything was very nice, it is great value and it is really quiet location. - Great house, nicely decorated, everything was great Sofa bed : mattress slightly uncomfortable. Other than that all was really nice.
- Luisa (9/5): Would love to come again - great for exploring the Vale of Glamorgan - The cottage was utterly perfect for us. We were attending a wedding close by and wanted to be in a cottage as opposed to a hotel so that we could take our time getting ready as a family in the morning. The kitchen was stocked with every utensil that you could think of and we loved that there were plenty of cleaning products, condiments, black bags, foil etc. It just felt that the owners wanted you to relax and feel at home and not feel that you had to bring the kitchen sink with you! We couldn't get the TV to connect to the internet - but that just encouraged us to talk to one another!!! We visited Cowbridge for a couple of hours - and were a bit sad that we didn't get time to visit the pub opposite! I'm struggling to find something that we didn't like...the blind overlooking the vine walk was damaged and didn't cover the window so it was a bit scary to see someone walking past that window late at night. But we quickly realised that there was another cottage behind and that we'd just seen our fellow residents. Truly this is a little gem. We loved the kitchen area - huge island that we all sat around for most of the time we were there.
- Naser (8/5): Very good -
- Dawn (8/5): We all had a great time here and the food at the pub opposite was lovely. - Gorgeous property in a fabulous location, very peaceful.
- Charles (9/5): It’sa lovely place and I’d recommend it to anyone interested. - Well equipped with modern appliances and comfortable beds. Beautiful grounds and gardens. The Three Horseshoes In across the street is conveniently and good for meals. Would appreciate Quick instructions for the heat and the oven. Had a hard time figuring those out.
- Md (9/5): Superb & excellent - Very modern and cosy and the location was so quite though it was in a country side. But overall it was excellent. We loved our staying there. The location was quite tricky but we found it.
- Claire (10/5): Wedding weekend at The Tackleshed - What a truly amazing property in a stunning location!
We were here for a wedding in Cardiff and booked the Tackleshed for 2 nights. The place is absolutely fantastic with everything you could want and more. My husband didn't want to leave the property to go to the wedding as he loved it so much!
It is very modern with everything you could need on hand. It had a lovely outside area too which was very peaceful as you are literally in the middle of nowhere.
We ate in the 3 Horseshoes pub across the road which was lovely although the drinks are on the expensive side.
All in all, it was a fantastic weekend and we are already looking at returning next year as we didn't really get chance to take full advantage of the facilities or explore the local area due to wedding commitments. Can't wait! Nothing.
- Sharlene (9/5): Family fun - Smart, clean facility that accommodates for the majority of house needs down to the finest detail. Only small thing i would suggest is a small bin with a lid in each bathroom.
- Daniel (10/5): Exceptionally Well Equipped Cottage for 5 - Lovely building, blown away by the amount of greenery and gardens. Seeing and feeding the fish was very enjoyable. The kitchen was well equipped with all necessary utensils and kitchenware being readily available. The bathrooms were modern and the showers were easy to use. Bedrooms also had TVs in every room that were smart. Overall me and my family thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend to everyone.
- Mark (10/5): A wonderful spot to stay with heaps of room - Very spacious cottage with comfortable end, good shower and very well fitted out kitchen with dishwasher and washing machine. Two huge smart televisions. Very clean; very private. Good parking. Close to airport, main road into Cardiff and a pub opposite Perhaps a slightly wider bed in the future, especially everything else is so spacious
- Charlotte (10/5): Amazing. Thank you! - Lovely cottage Nothing!
- Robin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alex (10/5): Exceptional -
- Prasanna (10/5): Nice little weekend getaway - Quite, peaceful, and comfortable topped off with kind and wholesome hosts
- Pete (10/5): Swingball heaven - Beautiful inside and well looked after. The garden space was great for the kids to go and play. The 2 owners were lovely and you got a real sense that nothing would be too much if you asked them. Nothing it was great!!!
- Deborah (8/5): Very good -
- Matthew (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rebecca (8/5): Very good - This was a lovely place. It was clean and spacious. There were activities for rainy days. The outlay is great. The gardens were lovely as well. We loved the kitchen, great lay out. The only thing was the WiFi was a bit spotty. There was no toilet brush in the bathrooms.
- Rebecca (10/5): Perfect - EVERYTHING!!! This property is beautiful and so much thought has been put into the layout, it’s contents etc. wonderful Nothing to not like!!
- Alison (9/5): Superb - Lovely place-clean and well equipped. Would definitely stay again if we were in the area Nothing- All as advertised
- Avis (7/5): lovely - what a lovely find the tackleshed was, it was the perfect place to stay for the weekend, a lovely part of the country, the place was very clean and extremely comfy. Our biggest moan was the huge smart tv wasn't connected to the wife, so was unable to be smart, the limited programs available were not enough and boring. We were looking forward to making a meal and watching a movie after a busy couple of days, we have our own netflix, amazon and bbc accounts but were unable to log in. we tried calling both help numbers several times to get advice from the hosts but both numbers didnt go through, just said they were not available. a big dissapointment
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alexandra (10/5): Modern country home with everything you’ll need. - This is a gem of a find and a place I will book again. There is everything you could need in situ. it’s super clean and tidy, beautifully decorated. The location is quiet but close to everywhere. I loved this property and would happily have booked for longer if I’d known it was this perfect. the owners are amazing too. Helpful if you need it but leave you to enjoy the tranquility and luxury of the place of you don’t.
- Richard (9/5): A very enjoyable stay which left us looking forward to a return stay for a longer period next time. - A lovely, modern and well equipped property in a beautiful rural location yet a stone’s throw from all facilities. The hosts were welcoming and helpful. Had a little trouble operating the water heating system, but that was down to our own lack of experience and not being prepared to bother the hosts whom I’m sure would have sorted it a lot quicker if we had asked.
- Breda (10/5): Exceptional - Top quality accommodation absolutely fabulous. Nothing
- Mark (10/5): Absolutely fantastic stay - Property was to a high standard and spotless Nothing
