Kateryna (10/5): Best of the best! - Our safaris there honestly left us speechless - and kind of ruined all the ones that came after (in the best way). Everything about this place just felt special, from the setting to the little details. But what really made it was the people. Everyone we met was so warm and welcoming - you can tell they genuinely care. We felt completely spoiled the whole stay, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. Hope to come back again one day! What we liked the most: - nice rooms with almost 24/7 cleaning. It was always so cute to come back and to perfectly clean room with a small piece of chocolate next to your bed - luxury safari 2 times per day with amazing experienced guides - you can easily spot wild animals just walking around at the Lodge, they come pretty close - nice look out place where animals come to refresh, you’re almost like in the cinema - comfy and close to take nice pictures - amazing food, private lunches/dinners every time at new spot. We loved our romantic dinner in a library just for 2 of us - friendly and welcoming people around - felling that you’re a special guest there Nothing, everything was perfect!

(9/5): Toplocatie met een groot aandachtspunt..... - Heel veel persoonlijke aandacht Wat me enorm irriteerde was dat bij de 'welkomstbrief' heel directief wordt aangegeven wat van je wordt verwacht om bij vertrek als tipgeld te geven. Ik vind dit een belediging van gasten. Natuurlijk geef ik een forse tip op het eind maar ga niet, al bij binnenkomst, een norm stellen van wat je op het eind als tip moet geven. Jammer......
Neil (10/5): - A luxury lodge but with an informal/more intimate atmosphere. A friendly team that makes you feel like family and who go the extra mile to make your stay as pleasurable as possible. Fantastic game drives. If you're looking for an easy going luxury lodge, this is the one.

Maike (10/5): Einzigartiges Erlebnis, das das Geld wert war! - Wir waren im Railway Carriage untergebracht, was sensationell und einzigartig und sogar mit eigenem Pool war. Etwas ganz Besonderes in Alleinlage im Game Reserve! Die beiden Game Drives waren ebenfalls einzigartig. Wi haben alles gesehen von Nashorn, über Elefantenherde ( ganz nah), zu Giraffen ( sogar direkt am Railway Carriage) , Löwen, Nilpferde, Büffel, Zebras. Nichts
Alistair (10/5): I was in two mind’s about a safari but this experience has changed that. - The staff make the place and our safari guide was exceptional. The location is superb with wild animals very close to your room ( but safely). Couldn’t recommend highly enough is a safari is on your list. No dislikes.

It was thrilling to see wil - It is beautiful, from the landscaped gardens overlooking bushveld to the gorgeous rooms. The staff greeted us upon arrival and after every game drive. The food was great. Nothing.
Tony (9/5): Superb - Excellent guide in Sikhumbuzo, proximity to animals and a superb lookout. Pool area well located. A beautiful room overlooking the reserve. Very friendly and helpful staff. Dining alone in a large room. Much better had we dined as a group to exchange stories of the day. The quality of some of the food was not as one would expect.
Andrew (10/5): - You’re right on the edge of the best reserve in the area & the game drives are all on the Shamwari Game Reserve. These are better than we ever expected & our ranger/guide, Cillia, was the best! Daniel at the Lodge managed everything for us & was always there for our needs, nothing was too much trouble & he ensured everything ran like clockwork. Cynthia was brilliant, always smiling and calm, Ntombi was also excellent and helped us with our questions about local culture. Overall superb!

Andrew (10/5): Highly recommended - From arrival to departure, the stay at Founders Lodge was superb. The Pod room has an amazing view over the Game Reserve (even from the shower!). Food is exceptional, and serving lunches and dinners from different locations within the Lodge/grounds was a nice touch. All staff are friendly, polite and good at what they do! The grounds are well maintained. The uninterrupted view of the waterhole allowed for lots of animal spotting. If you're thinking of going to an Eastern Cape Game Reserve, look no further than a stay at Founders Lodge.
