Guest Reviews
- RUSS (2/5): - PLACE WAS DIRTY, THEY MESSED UP MY RESERVATION, LOOKED LIKE MY DOOR GOT KICKED IN A FEW TIMES. SOUNDS LIKE THE BUILDING WILL EXPLODE WHEN ANYONE NEXT DOOR HAS A SHOWER. THE LIST CAN GO ON. SADLY THERE'S NOT TO MANY OPTIONS IN SIOUX LOOKOUT
- Perry (8/5): Good stay - My stay was nice. I had a suite, lovely area. Lots of noise from incoming guests but that is to be expected.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Room was clean and appliances were in good working order. Very uncomfortable bed. Excellent shower though.
- Sharon (2/5): - This property should be condemned. Very bad smell through out. Basically I walked into the room and walked out. Not sure why this hotel is on your site.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Looked like it hadn’t been vacuumed. Old worn out mattresses. Very dated and looks worn. For what the room charge was, it was a ripoff.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Bathroom was dirty, floors were dirty, window left open by previous occupant, bed sheet had cigarette burns. I will never stay there again.
There was no offer to clean the bathroom nor was there even an apology for anything, just indifference and nothing.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The price is high for what you get. Staff were friendly and helpful and the room was clean but furnishings are old and dated and breakfast is very basic. One thing I did appreciate is that there were wall dispensers for soap, shampoo, conditioner, etc. instead of all the little bottles, which is nice to see for the environment.
- John (4/5): - Terrible. Just terrible.
- Todd (2/5): - We did not enjoy our stay at all. Unpleasant to say the least. Dirty rooms(beds unclean, floor had dirt still on it), lost controllers for tv, fuzzy reception. Changing rooms didn't help
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The gym advertised on the website has been under renovations for ages. The evening staff were not very friendly and my room had numerous issues, the entry way smelled like cigarettes and the bathroom sink leaked onto the floor and a mystery goo bubbled up out of the sink that didnt drain properly. There was also no way to lock my room from the inside while i was in it.
- Kasenda (2/5): - The front desk kept trying to make me pay for the room again saying it was declined but it clearly said approved when I paid I had to call my bank to verify that a certain amount of money was charged from here.
- Roxann (2/5): Scary stains - We waited over 5min for someone to answer the bell or phone upon our arrival around 7:30pm. Our room had a sour smell in the carpets and they felt damp and sticky, the towels were haphazardly folded, and one of the hand towels was damp with an old smell. The shower curtain had what looked like blood or mildew stains up and down it, there was a large blood smear on the bed sheet and some kind of brown dried liquid goop on the wall.
When we mentioned it to the staff the next morning, they said the manager would call us and never did.
The hotel is apparently under new management and this has been common place since from what I’ve heard
- Verified traveler (2/5): Rather drive from Dryden than stay here again... - This was one of the worst hotels I’ve ever stayed in. the walls are paper thin so you hear everything and there were parties going on all night. Even though I was staying in a non-smoking room, there was a heavy smoke smell that was always worse at the end of the day so all my clothes smelled even after a short 3 night stay. I can deal with all of that, however, I got back at the end of one day to find my room door being held open with a door jam. I talked to the front desk and was told that the housekeeper had probably been cleaning the room and forgot to remove the door jam. Luckily, nothing was taken but I wasn’t even given an apology. Like I said I’d rather drive from Dryden than stay at this hotel again!
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Dirty and dangerous.
We did get help from the desk clerk and She got us another room. That one was somewhat better, but I still didn't get under the sheets.
- Yikes!! (2/5): - The only thing to like about this facility is the fact that their are beds in the rooms, cable television and free WiFi…. What not to like??? The interior is very dark, carpeting as dirty as Pig Pen from The Peanuts, bathroom so small its sink is in the room area. And lastly toilet and bathtub of the lowest quality you would not want your ass touching the seat.
- Syd (8/5): - Breakfast was simple but good. Convenient location
- Verified traveler (2/5): Gross - There was BLOOD spattered on the bathroom walls, bodily fluids beside head board and sticky flooring. In the Breakfast nook, there were exploded eggs in microwave and no hot water to make oatmeal...I asked politely for coffee to be made as the containers were empty and was offered instant...she did make a fresh pot.
As I arrived at the hotel, I had to step over bloody spit balls outside the entrance door. The front desk lady was really sweet and we had a good chat ...but then I didn’t want to offend anyone ... so I just stayed.
The worst was the smell!!! Stale Cigarette smell...sooo grossss!!! I had to keep my nose covered with my hand or clothing or pillow during the night. There were no other rooms available at other hotels in town. I washed out the air conditioner filter to see if that would help but it didn’t.
The bed was comfortable and I didn’t find any bed bugs so I did eventually fall asleep.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Dirty. Needs updating. Minimum breakfast. Overpriced.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The property is old and tired looking and needs a major upgrade
- Verified traveler (8/5): - That the room is totally clean and good AC that works properly. What I didn’t like was the washroom’s towels being small. this is a good option for last minute hotel
- Tom (4/5): - needed to hurry into room due to amount of bugs flying around light in hallway. Air conditioner was LOUD and sounded like a generator. Bathroom has only one switch so exhaust fan comes on with light and bearing is out on fan so squealing is loud enough that no one can sleep while someone is using facilities. Poor conditions.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - There was no one at the check in desk. There was a phone to call, he was in the washroom. He came back reeking of marijuana. There were people just hanging out at the entrance and sleeping on the couch in the lobby. Pass on this one.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Overpriced and flies in the room every day...no fridge or even clock.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - It was very unclean property, pop was spilt on the floor candy on the walls air conditioners all buttons were missing we had to use a key to adjust temperature on it. Asked front desk clerk about the town and she told us not much to see or do around would no recommend to anyone
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Did not like the unusual smell in the lobby areas.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The rooms were a good size the bed was new and comfortable.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - So bad we left and found rooms at another hotel. This property should be made to be acceptable for people to stay there. I will never book thru Expedia again.
- Sarah (2/5): Only if your desperate! - Booked two hotel rooms for me and my employees during a trip to Sioux lookout for work, if I had access to a tent I would have made use of that over this dump. Some of the staff were friendly but others were less than professional. The rooms were cleaned every day but let’s face it there is only so much polishing you can do on a turd. The wifi was non existent, the air conditioners barely could keep up and were extremely noisy. For some reason when we turned on the bathroom exhaust fans it was like they were venting cigarette smoke into our rooms. It was evident that my door had been kicked in multiple times. Somehow they double booked my name in for 4 rooms so we ended up having to pay for 2 extra rooms that no one was using. Will never stay again.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Outdated rooms, internet strength/bandwidth that is worse than the 90's. the bed was as soft as a brick.
0/10 would not recommend.
- Tania (8/5): - It was clean and the staff was very friendly. The location was very convenient.
- Spencer (10/5): Enjoyable - Great hotel.
- H (4/5): - Didnt like the rooms of the Inn, blankets were dirty pillows were dirty and dry blood and mostly what i found was some kind of medication pn top of the table.
- Rider (8/5): - Warm room. Friendly staff. Garbage in the psrking lot should be picked up.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Staff were great. Both the young lady that was working during Check in and the lady during check out were awesome. Very friendly and no complaints.
Room was very dated. Bed very uncomfortable. Wifi non existent. Connected but did not work. Heater worked but hard to control. Either it was too hot or freezing.
No toilet paper in room.
TV was good.
Breakfast was plain but okay.
- Anna (2/5): - Place is really outdated, we had two rooms, one room bathroom had leak and ended up having to change rooms. Other room found dirty facecloth in bathroom and found garbage around bed. So it shows that rooms were not cleaned well between stays. Very disappointed
- Josh (8/5): - Great friendly service. Great breakfast. Excellent restaurant next door. A couple minor deficiencies but they were dealt with as soon as they were brought up. Lots of parking. Big lot.
- Karla (4/5): Very disappointed - Smoke in a nonsmoking room !!!
Holes in the blankets
Sticky floors beside the beds,
Two of the three rooms had old food in the drawers and on the floor
The area around Room 204 was very noisy til quite late
Kids running up and down the hallway , next morning toilet paper down the hallway
Even the room book of info was covered with spaghetti sauce !!
This was a very unpleasant stay overall , obviously the rooms were not clean the hallways were dirty
I would never recommend this motel to anyone !!!
- Dawn (10/5): - Quiet
- David (4/5): - Very run down and need of lots of repairs and upgrades. Reception was fine but that’s where anything good ended.
- Spencer (10/5): Decent stay - Very nice staff, the building is older and could be a bit cleaner.
- Mike (2/5): Run Down - Bathroom was not cleaned properly, tiles missing, someone's hair on the floor, foul smell, bed was uncomfortable and squeaked every time you rolled over, sheets looked like they were just thrown on the bed, lamp on end table did not work, towels were old and frayed, desk located where there were no plugin's, windows opened but no screens to keep the bugs out and let in the fresh air, knob missing on the AC to regulate temperature.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Screwed by Hotel.com and Sunset Suites - A COMPLETE DISASTER ! ! ! Had a guaranteed room/rate of $130.65 CAD, but got charged $164.55 CAD. Your Hotel.com computer does not work with the Sunset Suites computer. My reservation (emailed to me from you) said "Your booking is confirmed. The hotel will charge you a total of $130.65 CAD." The reservation also said "Guests: adults - 4" But the check-in person said the $130.65 CAD only covered one person, even though my email from you said it covered 4 persons, explaining that the Hotel.com computer does not talk properly to the Sunset Suites computer. So I got charged for three extra people. WHAT A RIPOFF ! ! !
- Verified traveler (4/5): leftovers - there was someone's leftover food in the fridge when we arrived, the tub would not drain and the hair drier worked for 1 minute then died. Asked for assistance at the front desk but nothing happened was told it's not my fault and did not send anyone to the room to fix problems.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great resturant. Great bathroom. Great shower. Great staff. Bed - we'll - not horrible just springy.
- Verified traveler (6/5): A bit bush league - They thought my Hotels.com booking was a scam, so I didn't have a room when I got there. Luckily someone had just cancelled as I was trying to check in, because the hotel was full for the night, as were the other 2 hotels in town. I guess luck was on my side.
- Jack (8/5): Sioux Lookout - Short stay
- Jack (6/5): Overnight stay - It was alright
- Verified traveler (2/5): High price, utterly dejecting experience - Beginning with the horrible odor, this hotel was a disappointment.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Find out more before you book - This hotel is decent if you're expectations are not high. This hotel has two buildings an old building that seems to be a combination of low cost room rentals and subsidized monthly housing. And a new building that is more like a normal hotel, similar to a Howard Johnson or road side motel. Very little price difference but if you expect to have a decent stay you should make sure you book in the new building, not the old one.
