Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautiful property! The outdoor decks provided a great space for our dinner and breakfast. The views from the decks were incredible- beautiful sunrise and perfect view of the stars. I would recommend this stay to anyone traveling in the area.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent end to a long day of travel. Wish we had longer to enjoy this relaxing setting.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Nice change from the beach - The bed was not terribly comfortable and for a king was quite short. Also the shower is downstairs through the owner’s kitchen. Which is not ideal. That being said it was a lovely spot in a quiet neighborhood up country which was a nice change of scenery. And Steve and Diane were very accommodating and friendly.
- Jose (10/5): - The moment you leave the window open at night the cold breeze rushes in, if you love to sleep in the cold. Plus an additional perk when you wake up with the window open you hear the birds chirping I think I was counting like five different chirps
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We had the perfect stay. The property was comfortable and clean and the decor so homely. The hosts were so friendly and welcoming - I wanted to live there! The property is on the edge of the National Park, so perfect for a trip to Haleakala. We'd love to go back.
- Verified traveler (10/5): What a view - Beautiful home with an even better view. The host was friendly and knowledgeable about the surrounding area. An ideal place to stay if you are planning to visit Haleakala. Would 100% book again if I visit Maui!
- Manny (10/5): - Hosts were extremely nice, welcoming and knowledge. Great place to stay!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Everything was great. You actually have a house to yourself with great views. Steve, the proprietor, was great. Gave great advice on timing and info on the sunrise are Haleakala as well as other things in the area. Served us a very nice continental breakfast. Would hesitate to stay there again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great views and great place to watch sunset. Owners were wonderful and Keep the place very nice and clean. Very accommodating for leaving early to see sunrise at Haleakala. Only regret is not planning another day to stay.
- Matt (10/5): Out of the tourist areas - We checked in as a storm was happening on the island. It was fun to be in this house watching the storm roll through. In the morning the view of snow on the crater was fantastic. Steve is a very welcoming host and has thought of everything travelers will need on the road in his home. We look forward to returning.
- John (8/5): - Very spacious (2 bedroom, 1.5 bath) and clean with beautiful views from both the front and back patios. Host are very helpful and accommodating.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It's not a true B&B (no breakfast or use of kitchen); however, the work-around's were more than satisfactory (mini-fridge, microwave, private bathroom, shower downstairs). Depending on your physical condition, the stairs may be difficult to negotiate. Beautiful location "up-country" and the owners were very pleasant!!
- Katharina (10/5): Great views - They were wonderful host and the views were magnificent. And convenient. To the volcano, beaches and airport
- Ed (10/5): Great view, great host! - Steve was a great host. Had breakfast in a bag and coffee ready at 2:15 am for our outing on Haleakalā. Place was clean and comfortable. Enjoyed the view from both balconies. Would stay again in a heartbeat.
- Denise (10/5): Stay here! - Exceptional place in a perfect location. Watch the sunset from your front porch and the birds from the back porch.
- Gil (10/5): - The location is very close to the Haleakala rd. Good for every place.
- Sreekanth (10/5): Thank you Steve - Such a beautiful location. The location is amazing (even if you miss the sun rise tour, stay here, you wont regret). Room is clean and cozy. Host Steve is an awesome guy. Thanks for a wonderful stay and for the breakfast :)
- Jen (10/5): - absolutely 110% recommend for Haleakala summit or to be close to the airport for a quick eject (20 min). Steve is an absolute consummate host and has every minor detail down to a tee for the weary traveler. The place is immaculately clean and comfortable (for comparison, we stayed at Ritz Carlton for the remaining duration of the trip and felt Steve's place was better maintained!) Cuts down on the commute time in the morning to Haleakala (well worth it!) by an hour from the west side of resorts. Wish I had more time to spend at the property and chat with Steve but we checked in pretty late and were waking up early. Icing on the cake - Steve packed us a breakfast to go and even cut up and peeled apples/oranges for us to go. You'll be hard pressed to find a better host than Steve!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The property is amazing. Even arriving at night you can feel the mystical beauty of the countryside. When you awake you are surrounded by Hawaii's beautiful panoramic views. Guest area is perfect.
They also accomodated us on a later check in. Diane is very welcoming and friendly. Didnt get to meet Steve but spoke with him over the phone and he was very nice and accomodating as well. We definitely recommend and will stay again. I am pretty picky and no complaints here! You wont regret.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great house close to Haleakala - This was a wonderful find in Maui. Steve was very knowledgeable and a great host. We will definitely try to stay again if we make it back to Maui!
