Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Fourth floor room no elevator, sorry elevator was out of order, looked like for weeks. Torn carpet, hole in walls, back indoor staircase is full of garbage. Poor lock system on room door, felt unsafe.
- Guillaume (2/5): - Staff dirty, hotel dirty, bedroom dirty and unsecured
- S (2/5): - Property smelled of cigarettes on every floor, elevator broken (from other reviews, looks like it has been broken for several months), stains in bathtub, cigarette burns in bedspread (non-smoking room), lobby ceiling shows several spots of water damage, dead bugs in room. Our room was so gross, we didnt even stay.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - I had booked a smoking room, two weeks prior for a 3 day stay, and when arrived, my room had been given to someone else. I was able to have a smoking room for the the last 2 days, but the first night in a non smoking room.
- Mark (2/5): Don't stay here - Dirty, run down hotel
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Didnt like that the elevators didnt work. Was run down and required alot of renovations
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Have sent an email re this hotel. It was unclean, stunk of smoke, had a broken screen door and we were told by reception that she would put us in the corner room where ee çould keep an eye on our car. We felt it was an unsafe place for us and our rental vehicle.
- LOK SUN (2/5): Dirty Hotel in Poor Condition - There were flies flying around in both of our rooms. The beddings and pillows were all seemed not being washed for quite a long time. Smells were inside our rooms and from smokers. Door lock for the toilet was in a damaged condition so we could not use it and collect our belongings until the housekeeper broke open the door. Elevator was out of order so we had to carry all the heavy baggages up for 4 floors.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Need more improvements and upgrading of the facilities.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Staff was friendly
Room was clean, but the hallway stinks cuz of smoke
- Phil (2/5): - Smelled of smoke on the room
Refused to stay there
They also allowed people to smoke right outside their front door
DO NOT RECOMMEND FAMILIES OR NON SMOKING PEOPLE
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The bed was comfortable and front desk friendly. We didn't care for the cleanliness and upkeep of the facilities.
- angelaaaaa (6/5): - we could smoke in the room so that was lit but the balcony lead right out to the roof where we’d found a lovely mystery case full of what looked to be drug paraphernalia, we didn’t want to use the hotel blankets because of the burn holes, or the shower because the tub was half peeled away, the towels were each different & then the balcony door “lock” was a wooden pole but I had fun, the karaoke in the lobby bar went on until about 1am and then the other hotel guests above us decided to scream, fight, and stomp around until 2am. I slept through it as i’m used to it and felt more at home hearing them scream at each other, there was a gentlemen at the front desk when i’d arrived at 11pm who was checking out and said he would not be completing his stay, what did he expect from a $60/room hotel? obviously more than I did.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Smelly rooms, broken very old ac, very scratched and old bathtubs and sinks and the list goes on.
Should be closed down until fixed.
- Connie (2/5): - Will never stay there again
- Francisco (6/5): - Old hotel. Not elevator. Rooms smells to cigarettes and were not smoking room.
- Jen (2/5): - Needs lot of improvement, need to be honest on what they are posting online..
I booked a room non-smoking yet when we get there. The room, smells cigarette, very dusty and lots of dead insects at the corners..& not indicated online that no elevator should be needed to consider especially pregnant woman, doing stairs to 3rd or 4th floor.
No wifi on the date of our check in but it was included in the amenities.
My husband complained,& not we will cancel checking in and thankfully the receptionist refunded our money but even they don’t refund we don’t stay ,because my husband have issue of short breath in smelling smoke, it would be unhealthy for us.. a bad experience and hopefully there would be an improvement.
- Emily (8/5): Good stay. - It was a great stay.
- Jen (4/5): - The staff were lovely and bar downstairs was cool! But I don’t think I’ve stayed in a room so run down dirty and generally broken. The light switch didn’t work and was stickytaped off. There were holes in the walls and it just didn’t feel clean. The bathroom was very average and the door to get onto the deck was also broken. 4 stories up with no lift is also tricky with luggage!! It was cheap - which is why we chose it.... but i think I would rather spend $50 bucks extra and be somewhere I wasn’t worried I might get bedbugs!
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Very poor maintenance Very seedy place. I stayed there last year as well, but I won't be going back
- Henry (2/5): - This "Inn" is the FILTHIEST PLACE that I have ever been in, & i will NOT EVER AGAIN STAY at that location, because of:
SEVERAL Broken Plug-ins - HOUSEKEEPING/MAINTENANCE WERE HOUSEKEEPING FULLY AWARE OF THIS
- I was ACTUALLY told by the HOUSEKEEPING MANAGER to not use the plug-ins, even though there was no other lights than the bathroom
BARE METAL, & RUST, showing through porcelain, in the bathtub, - HOUSEKEEPING IS FULLY AWARE OF THIS
Toilet FILTHY - (water? stains) - HOUSEKEEPING IS FULLY AWARE OF THIS
Grouse nest on balcony - HOUSEKEEPING/MAINTENANCE IS FULLY AWARE OF THIS
Broken elevator - MAINTENANCE IS FULLY AWARE OF THIS
Hookers, Pimps, & Drug Dealers hanging around in parking lot, & in the VLT Lounge - MANAGEMENT FULLY AWARE OF THIS
NOT ONCE WAS I OFFERED A DIFFERENT ROOM, OR ANY OTHER POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The hotel was in very poor condition. The carpet was in rough shape and the building is very old and has no upgrades in the last 40 years. The area is sketchy and we were kept up for most of the night with fights out in the street. The staff were very friendly and kind and helpful.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Worst hotel of my lifevvhbgxszevyhbvgggggvvvvvv vvvvvvvb hhjhhhv ghjdzdyyc hv
- Verified traveler (2/5): - We were assigned a room on the third floor and the elevator was not working. No refund or any other compensation. We saw the room condition, returned to the front desk and advised that neither my wife (who has had recent knee surgery) or myself could deal with the stairs. We were simply advised that other people have no problem and that was that.
- Saini (2/5): - The place was not very good. There was no proper lighting in the room and the room was not clean. There was mosquitoes in the room. We had to move our room.
- Tara (2/5): Oh gross. - Disgusting smell in the rooms as well as so loud. The elevator is broken still and you have to pack your luggage up 6 flights of stairs.
There is a lounge and bar right beside the hotel and it’s so loud as well as the clientele doesn’t seem the most.... upstanding. A lot of prostitutes hanging around. Do.
Not. Stay. Here. Run away.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - That hotel is good but it smells bad please. Some terrible odour and smell especially on the stairs and wAlking areas
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Booked 3- double rooms, got 2 - doubles and a single
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It was dark and the signage was confusing. You enter through the doors that say restaurant. I arrived around 7pm and everything looked dark and closed from the outside so I thought I was in the wrong place.
- Tommy (2/5): - There’s nothing at all good about this place. The front doors are one big ashtray, the elevator is broken, there’s stains everywhere even on the roof of room, garbage in the hallways, noise at all hours, the so called balcony was a door from room leading to the roof of the bar with no guard rails at all on the second floor. I cannot believe Expedia backs this dump!!!! Stay away from this lace at all cost!!
- Tran (8/5): - Good value accommodation. We were looking for an economy hotel and this hotel meets our needs very well: pleasant reception, room is clean in overall, very clean bed, roomy for two, no smoking unit. The live band show was always the highlight of our stay. We stayed 3 times at this hotel so far in the last 2 months, and plan to stay there at our next trip to Calgary.
- Angela (4/5): - The staff were very friendly. Rooms were in process of receiving an update. There was no plug close to the bed and there wasn't enough light in the room. Also even though it was a non smoking room it had a strong odor of smoke that activated my allergies.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Hotel in a good location for restaurants. Very sketchy clientele in the paking lot.
- Bill (2/5): Not overly clean - Room was not clean and it smelled of smoke. The front desk staff was very personable but I wouldn’t stay again
- Piyush (10/5): - My stay was very pleasant and overall great!!
- Debessay (2/5): - I dont even know its hotel or ashtray all over room and hall way smell smoke i vot sick my voice is locked . Garbage room i just throw my money through window i did not order smoke room i never ever smoke in my life. Garbage room
- Verified traveler (4/5): Very, Very Disappointing - We chose this hotel because it was inexpensive and accepted pets. The room was dark and grungy. Our cat hated the smell of the room and was only calm in the tub. The halls and elevator reeked of marijuana and stale cigarette smoke. Very noisy. You know it’s bad when your room doesn’t even meet your cat’s standards. This hotel should be demolished. The only plus is that we got an exceptionally early start to our day.
- rose (2/5): Very disappointing and scary!! - When I book hotels using hotels.com, I am in an impression that in order to be affiliated to this sight, each hotel should follow and pass certain standards as to the safety, cleanliness and decency of the hotel... this hotel did not pass any standards of any sort if there is any! The room and the hallway were smelly, the towels were old and I am not sure if they were clean because they were brown old towels.. the toilet clogged and when we told housekeeping about it, we were given a plunger.. we had to clean it ourselves!! It is not that I paid cheap on this hotel.. I paid the usual average amount I pay for booking a hotel.. this hotel was just disappointing!
- Karuppiah (4/5): - Not recommended for families. Staff were friendly but shady characters in front of the hotel and is part of a casino. Rooms were less than okay! Elevators have weird buttons pointing to different floors.
- Jordan (8/5): Excellent Shuttle Service - This is an inexpensive hotel so I did not expect much and that's what I got , BUT , the hotel had a shuttle service that was not free but awesome . The driver was a good guy and drove my friend and I to the Calgary Blues Festival for a mere $10 , he picked us up at 1:30 AM for $20 , what a bargain . This is a two star hot at best but it was inexpensive and that's what we were looking for , somewhere to sleep for a few hours then drive home it was perfect for that .
- Becky (4/5): Trashy appeal - This hotel has a night club in the lobby so there was constant noise at least until 2 am which is the time we left. The elevator stunk probably from people's sweat. I would not stay there or in that close vicinity again; I was afraid to even walk from the front door to my car as there seemed to be 'trashy people' in and around the building.
- Marko (8/5): - Older style motel. Plenty of character. Friendly staff
- Gwen (4/5): don't bother - we drove into the parking lot and felt unsafe. the girl at the counter was nice but I checked in and took the bags to the room and had a look around. realizing it was dirty and not in good shape I asked to cancel and she said she would have to charge me for the night. unfortunately it was not in my budget to pay for two hotels so we ended up staying. once in the room with the deadbolt it was safe enough but I did worry about our stuff being safe in the room.
- Verified traveler (8/5): We will stay here again. - There are certain things that happen at any hotel you stay in, this hotel had the fire alarms go off for hours on our first night there. The weather was extremely cold our first night so the sensors kept being tripped, I felt awful for Stacey the front desk girl because a lot of us were upset with no sleep that night and she tried her best to keep us as happy as she could.
The fact that there was no hot water for two days however was unacceptable!!!!
We really liked our stay except for that and when we requested more pillows from housekeeping she ignored our 3 requests!!!
I will stay here again, but only if housekeeping and maintenance gets their acts together.
Housekeeping DEFINATELY needs to do a better clean in the rooms, I went and got mr clean magic erasers and Lysol disinfectant and also re made the bed because they did a bad job.
But we enjoyed the nightclub and the karaoke bar, and the front desk staff were all great.
- Leslie (10/5): Perfect for a cheap place to lay your head - Older hotel, but super affordable. Everything was clean, but dated. Beds were comfortable. Was perfect for a place to stay after a long flight into Calgary. Breakfast downstairs at the restaurant was very good & very affordable.
- Hossein (2/5): worst hotel ever - Please do not reserve in this place. They charge me for one night in advance however when i was in the place they call hotel which is in very ba neighbouehood, they said they can not show me the room and their room has no hot water.
So i left their place and called Hotel.com for a refund however this place called hotel refused to refund my money even though they did not give me a room the place they called hotel loby was very very dirty
- E (2/5): Terrible hotel in a bad location without hot water - The hotel is located in a scarry region. Definitely not a place if you are looking for a safe and family friendly place to stay.
When checked in, thr front desk advised that this hotel has no hot water.
It was too late to look for another place.
- Emmanuel (6/5): NO SATISFACTION! - There was no hot water and I had a baby. So, my baby did not take shower, which I did not like at ALL!!
- William (4/5): Run down hotel. - Run down hotel. People were very nice and I wasn't expecting the Hilton, but this place is bad. No hot water in the morning for a shower, locks on door are questionable, non smoking room stank like smoke, squeaky bed. Oh, I could go on..... Any ways, spend $10 more and get a real hotel.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good for low budget - A reasonable accommodation at a competitive price
