Guest Reviews
- Mark (10/5): - Clean rooms. Comfortable. The front desk girls were amazing. Very friendly and helped us out big time, even though I screwed the reservation up. They could not have been better.
- linda (10/5): - Wonderful stay
- Nicola (8/5): - The breakfast bar was empty and no one was around to fill items in the morning. The facility itself is very nice and the check in girl was extremely nice.
- Anne (8/5): - Clean with included breakfast. All very inexpensive
- James (4/5): - Breakfast was very limited. No internet and limited tv channels in room. Is supposed to be fixed in a few weeks....
- Bradley (8/5): - Bed was comfortable. They put us among rooms of road construction workers. We were woken up early as they were leaving for work. Carpet was stained from mud.
- zalieka (8/5): - Nice place, breakfast muffins for breakfast and bagels. You can hear others talking and tvs in next room.
- Dianna (8/5): - Staff were very kind!!
Breakfast was not a hot breakfast, kitchen area was not stocked
- Roberta (6/5): - Clean and plenty good for a road trip overnight.
- Shirly (10/5): - Nice rooms and friendly staff. The breakfast has a huge disappointment. We were down to breakfast at 7am and there was only bagels. No coffee no breakfast sandwiches no fruit.
- Xiao Jian (6/5): - Ok hotel because not have too my choice.
- Joanne (6/5): - Stay was supposed to include breakfast but there was none. Desk clerk apologized, said people who supply breakfast did not show up.
No offer to take money off bill.
Also fitness room was closed, no reason given.
Very disappointed!!
- Les (4/5): - Poor or no internet connection. No complimentary breakfast. No milk for cereal. No apologies forthcoming
- Alan (8/5): - The breakfast was pretty much nonexistent. Seems their order was not delivered but they didn’t tell us so we were unprepared to make other arrangements.
- Vaile (6/5): - Wifi to our room didnt qork. Only got 6 channels on the tv none of wich were csrtoons and the staff did not care at all. Our room with a pull out couch to sleep four and booked for four had two towels and no sheets for pull out bed.
- resit (10/5): - Hotel is new, clean. Beds are comfortable and a small to go breakfast was provided
- Fay (8/5): - Wifi did not work. Front desk person tried to help but could not.
- Hanne (10/5): - The room and bathroom were spacious, well appointed. Our room faced Hwy 16. I am a light sleeper so heard traffic abd trains throughout the night. If yiu are too, request a room at the back. Beautiful spacious foyer decorated with Indigenous art. Breakfast upon check-out was a bonus but a staff person needs to be assigned to tidy kitchen/buffet area and replenish. Ran out of plates and utensils, dirty dishes overflowing in sink, no cutlery. Tables needed to be wiped. Check-in staff was delightful, check-out staff was surly and did not greet us, ask us about our stay, or bid us farwell/thank you for staying.
- Anthony (4/5): - This was the worst "breakfast" I have seen at any hotel, especially one of this price. There were two choices: bagels, or gas-station microwave egg muffins. There was supposed to be a third choice of boxed cereal, but there was no milk available for both days of my stay; not sure why they were unable to buy more milk, but two days in and still none. This should not be advertised as even a 'light' breakfast, as it was completely useless.
- Darren (8/5): - Our stay was good. the beds were comfy!
- Don (10/5): - Nicest
- Valerie (10/5): - I loved the exercise equipment. It was the best equipment on my whole trip. Our room was a good size and in good condition
- Keila (4/5): - The receptionist was wearing headphones and texting while checking us in. All of the emails and websites about this property state that check-in time is at 3pm but when walking in there is a big sign that states 4pm instead. Luckily our room was already prepared. The wifi is very slow for a building that is on the highway, had to check for bedbugs after reading other reviews, the toilet doesn’t flush after the first try, the water does not get very warm as quickly as other places, and the water pressure is terrible.
I would not recommend this place to others passing through, especially for the price.
- Andrew (8/5): - Very clean hotel, room was actually quite spacious, and as someone on night shift the hotel was very quiet and respectful.
- Tessa (10/5): - lovely
- Richard (8/5): - Nice clean place, extremely friendly staff.
Large rooms and new place.
Breakfast was very basic
- Tom (8/5): - Very clean and modern.
Wifi was ridiculously slow.
- Kevin (6/5): - Everything was good to great, only exceptions were: No WIFI in my room, a real bummer, and the breakfast could have been a bit better as it was in the past.
- kiyomasa (8/5): - modern
- Shauna (10/5): - Nice environment
- Sviatlana (10/5): - Our family stayed for two nights in July on our way home. Key-Oh Lodge is conveniently located right off the highway. The staff were very kind and friendly, the room was clean, and it was very quiet, so we enjoyed a great night’s sleep.
- Denyne (8/5): - Clean, quiet, friendly staff but no tv channels or options.
- patrick (8/5): - Mostly good
- Carol (10/5): - Wifi was almost nil, so couldn’t use it.
Very high bathtub sides with no bars to hold onto to get into the tub/shower.
Very modern hotel. We enjoyed our stay overall and would return.
- Sandra (10/5): - Great stay
- Stephen (8/5): - Hotel is great. The included breakfast was quite poor. Stopping at Timmys
- Patricia (10/5): - I’d recommend the stay here for everyone!
Clean rooms comfy beds quiet
- shui hua (10/5): - Very clean hotel and nice stairs
- Charmain (8/5): - Room was clean, bed very comfortable for our 4 night stay minimal noise heard. Breakfast options were a little slim though and we were not offered the 10% discount for breakfast at the second Lodge until the day we were checking out when Isaw the little notice on the counter, but we needed to be at the airport on time. Also our room key cards kept deactivating every time we left the lodge and tried to use them once we were back again, and we had not had them sitting close to our phone at all.
- Marni (8/5): - The room was so very quiet, couldn’t even hear hallway noise. I was shocked when I saw the parking lot full in the morning. The room was mostly clean, but the carpet was kind of gross with stains or dirt. Checking in was a little stressful as Expedia said check in was 3pm and upon arrival the hotel said 4pm; clerk was going to make us wait but luckily the room was ready.
- Janet (8/5): - We enjoyed our stay here. Our room was quiet and I used the gym. The grab and go breakfast was handy.
- Peter (8/5): - Wifi was poor
No bedding for sofa bed when unfolded
Asked at the front desk for more hangers as we only had 2. They never came
- Verified traveler (6/5): Mehhh - Time to upgrade your TVs to something other than basic cable. Also when you advertise a free continental breakfast you shouldn't run out within the first 30 minutes of it being open. People need something other than bread and old stale cereals for breakfast
- Joshua (10/5): - The property had nice statues of animals that you can take pictures with. There is also enough space to park a couple Uhauls with a trailer. Would recommend for those moving.
- Bob (6/5): - Really nice property but understaffed and poorly managed. If you are patient and accommodating it is an OK place to stay.
- Janet (8/5): - The rooms were spacious and very clean, the wifi was terrible, spent most of the time in the lobby, horrible, they were working on it, the breakfast could have been better, not much of a variety, did not keep replenishing. Overall it was ok
- Robin (8/5): Okay for one night - Comfortable bed, quiet room, disappointing breakfast.
- Kathleen (10/5): - Very nice place and good breakfast selections. Would stay again
- Brian (4/5): - Bathroom floor was dirty as was the carpet in the main room.
- Walter (10/5): - Pretty new hotel, and nice and clean.
- Karen (2/5): - No breakfast. We were told that they ordered the food but didn't arrive. Hotel didn't have alternative arrangement for food, my client were starving. No staff or manager came out to solve the problem. One of my client found a case of instant noodles on the restaurant shelf, she took it and shared with other group member but unfortunately, one staff came to the front of her and point at her said she was a theif. My client was very upset and was in bad mood for the rest of the day.
- Michael (6/5): - Great spot but little things are missing. Toilet paper in main bathroom. Lack of lid for ice bucket and bag for it. Holes in wall.
- Karen (6/5): - Clean, typical hotel .Spacious room with a nice high king size bed.
- Cor (8/5): - Very nice hotel to overnight in while on a long distance trip. No restaurant but many in the area along the yellow head highway as it winds its way through town
- Michele (10/5): - Key-oh Lodge is a great stop. Bed are comfortable, lodge is clean and staff are friendly. We always stop here when driving down south.
- Graham (8/5): - Beautiful new hotel, with spacious bedrooms and nice bathrooms.
No wifi signal in our room at the end of the corridor. Had to sit in lobby.
Breakfast has been downgraded to grab and go...not good. No cutlery when we got there.
- Kristy (8/5): - Liked the property and staff I encountered (front desk check in only), main areas were clean, but my room had not been vacuumed under the bed so my dogs found old food and used Kleenex and I had to rip them out of their mouths. If those had been dangerous items it could have been very very bad. Very disappointing considering they knew it was a big dog show weekend.
- Linda (8/5): - This property is clean and is situated conveniently on the main highway. I stayed in a queen bed room and the bed was comfortable. I had trouble getting the temperature to get as cool as I would have liked. Unfortunately the quality of the breakfast has declined since I was here a year ago, with only individual boxes of cereal, make your own waffles, a selection of bagels or muffins and out of date yogurt. The coffee machine ran out of coffee by 7:30 and was not refilled in the time I was eating my bowl of cereal.
- Nathan (10/5): - Great place to stay. Comfortable, clean and incredibly friendly staff. Will stay here again.
- David (4/5): - Wifi didn't work in the room.
- Wayne (6/5): - The first room they gave us was not made up so we had to change rooms. After that it was good.
- Robert (8/5): - The place is well kept and amenities are all good.
The breakfast option is poor, and it would be good to make suggestions/ recommendations to clients where they can get a good breakfast, possibly with a coupon option included, in Burns Lake. The Eatery was the best I could find.
- Richard (10/5): - Clean, new. Friendly, helpful staff. Nice and quiet. It's a bit in the middle of nowhere in a sleepy town which is fine for a stop off.
- kelsey (8/5): - The fridge in our room still had someone else’s food in it and looked like the ledges in the food hadn’t been wiped down for some time.
Tv channels sucked
Beds were hard
Bathrooms were roomy and the rooms were nice and clean
Breakfast included was a bonus & waffles!
Front desk wasn’t very freaky during check in and she got me to fill out the same questions I filled out on the online - easy check in form.
- Sage (10/5): - Breakfast included, convenient stop in burns lake
- Laurette (10/5): - It was a great representation of Indigenous hospitality, and excellent personal service.
- Stephen (6/5): - Friendly staff, but we had to fill up the coffee cream ourselves and the breakfaat area needed more attention
- Christoper R (10/5): Highly recommend - Clean, modern, quiet. Very nice complementary breakfast. Friendly, helpful staff. Reasonable rates. Definitely stay again
- Edie (10/5): - Our room was clean and comfortable. We’ll stay again next time we are back in town
- Siddhant (8/5): - The place is good, nice staff
- Tyler (10/5): - My kids and I had a wonderful stay. Definitely gonna come back here again.
- Kurt (10/5): - Beautiful cedar entrance way, staff was excellent.
- Denis (8/5): - Great hotel in Burns Lake. Breakfast service is not adequate. Run out of items before 7 am. Room service not replenish in roo. coffee pods if more than one night stay
- kristina (10/5): - Incredible staff, clean cozy room, amazing time.
- Shanna (10/5): - Pleasant place! Great staff, kids loved the breakfast
- David (10/5): - I would recommend this property
- Mackenna (10/5): - Great Stay! Clean and Quiet
- Martin (6/5): - Noisy room towards the parking lot. Very, very small breakfast area.
- Bernie (2/5): - Our room was extremely dirty. Bathroom had hair all over the floor and sink. One towel was so worn out it was see through. The other towel had blood stains. Sheets were clean.
- Shannon (8/5): - Very nice hotel - staff are lovely. Basic gym on site and basic breakfast. Very clean and comfortable
- Michael (10/5): - Great stop for me and my pet
- Alan (10/5): - Friendly staff, easy chek-in, comfortable and quiet place.
I traveled with my parents and wife, we all had a good perception of this place.
- Tammy (2/5): - Check in went normal.
Entered room, clearly had not been vacuumed. Gross and multiple stains on carpets, food or something smeared down side of couch. Stains all over cushions of couch. Bed had long black hairs on pillows and in sheets. Bathroom counter had not been cleaned. Beds were made and towels hanging.
Went to front to report condition of room. Front clerk said she would call housekeeping to go clean room. So I waited 20 to 30 mins.
This was around 8:00 p.m.. went back to front desk and she said she was sorry but they were short staffed and she would call her again. I asked if I could have a different room that was ready and she said the entire Hotel was booked so No, I could not. I went back to the room and a few minutes later the front desk clerk came to the door with housekeeping and said they were going to clean the room could I please leave. I did. I went and picked up some supper, came back and they were gone. The only thing that they had done was wipe the bathroom countertop.
I didn't bother with anything else that evening.
Breakfast of scrambled eggs, sausages and Waffles were not available. Bread and bagels only. Front clerk said there were not enough traveler's to put out breakfast. Thought the hotel was full the night before?
The overall cleanliness of the hotel was poor. The room was awfull and staff were lacking.
I would Not recommend anyone risk staying here. It will disappoint. A rating of 1-2 stars at most would be generous.
- Sylvia (10/5): - Property was clean, continental breakfast good, and it was easy to get to.
- Susie (8/5): - It was new and clean.
- WENDELL (10/5): - Nice big modern room. Excellent self-serve breakfast.
- Tina (8/5): - Great hotel
- David (10/5): - Great overnight stay. Do not like the bathtub because it is far to high to step into without safety bars.
- Lindsay (6/5): - The place has lots of potential unfortunately it was not clean in the room. I spoke to others that said the same. Hopefully this is addressed as the property is extremely nice. The gentleman that checked me in was also extremely friendly.
- William (2/5): - Outside of the building was beautiful. Inside was a different story.
- Peter (2/5): - First room assigned was occupied, second room cleaning not completed, so it took three tries to get a room. Carpet was so dirty that i did not feel comfortable in bare feet.
- Susan (6/5): - This is a newer property but it doesn't seem to be well managed or have good help. Our room had a comfy clean bed and seemingly clean towels (one was stained with orange marks???) Our bathtub and toilet appeared to be uncleaned as well as the bathroom floor. Carpets are muddy in rooms and hallways and halls looked as if they had not been vacuumed in some time.
- Christopher (6/5): - Worn carpet and an unrepaired hole in the wall.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Disgusting coffee brand in rooms Hotel needs a new coffee supplier.
- Margaret (10/5): - We loved the design of the hotel and the wood carvings outside. I suggested a handrail for getting out of the shower since the bathmat slipped when I stepped out of the tub and I landed on the floor. All OK just a suggestion.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Newer hotel in good condition on First Nations land immediately adjacent to town. Good-sized room and bathroom and clean with a comfortable bed and very good lighting. Good breakfast.
- Kevin (10/5): - My room didn't have a microwave! In my travels that is rare, otherwise everything else was great!
- Jerry (8/5): - Beautiful entrance, very welcoming, very easy check in and out. Enjoyed our stay here.
- Barbara (4/5): - As mentioned in other reviews, the floors were heavily stained in the room and throughout the facility. The floor and walls in the bathroom were dirty. There was an overly strong disinfectant/chemical smell in the room. Breakfast offerings were slim.
- genny (8/5): - The best accommodation in Burns Lake
