Dianne (9/5): Pleasant well presented, ideal for a couple. - View was lovely. Food at the restaurant was well priced, fresh & tasty. Was a pleasant surprise on first entry into the accommodation. Clean and well presented. If in the area again it would be a place to return to. Only one thing that would be a problem is that the rooms are on the side of a hill and if walking to the restaurant, could be very challenging due to the steep grade to the bottom. Although the view was nice.

Philip (8/5): - Nice view driving up to Hotel . Lovely view of the Tamar River. Refurbiished unit. Comfortable bed and pillows. New bathroom lovely shower. Good TV and internet. Small kitchenette with toaster, tea, coffee, biscuits. Restaurant on-site. Exeter is a small town close by has IGA, Vonda's dress shop had lovely merchandise. Amazing bakery with very tempting treats and a lovely wood fire. Paid a high price for a lovely River view but our unit no 7 had an ugly view of the back of the pub. Chairs were extremely uncomfortable. Had to sit on the outdoor chairs with a pillow on the seat. Too hard for a mature couple. Quite a big walk to the unit from our car.
Helen (10/5): Great accommodation, beautiful location, amazing views and fantastic staff - The accommodation was exceptional, the lovely Sarah at the reception desk welcomed us so warmly from the moment we walked in. Highly recommend this place, the view is priceless, extra quiet and peaceful location. Our room was modern, clean and we wished we could have stayed longer. Firstly the staff at the restaurant were fantastic. My only constructive criticism is the food at the hotel. We had dinner on our first night and ordered oysters [natural & kilpatrick], gnocchi, baked mushrooms, fish & chips. The gnocchi was fried and unappealing, baked mushrooms were overcooked and looked burnt, the battered fish had a strong yeast taste that overtook the taste of the fish. Yet the oysters were mostly great other than the kilpatrick oysters tasted like bbq sauce was used instead of worcestershire sauce. My husband and I are not foodies by any means, but we felt the restaurant is the only negative experience we had with this hotel. I would stay here again, just not dine at the restaurant.

Bee (7/5): Great stay - Beautiful location, nice and clean My suggestion would be to leave some fly spray in the room. I had the glass doors open but screen doors closed and by the time I got back to the room there were bugs everywhere

B&Ian (9/5): Gorgeous - The veiw from the rooms. The rooms had a toaster and some crockery, etc. They also supplied jams and vegemite and butter. There is also a pub on-site for dinner. The only thing I would have liked was an extra sink for washing dishes.

Andrew (9/5): Fantastic river views from modern, comfortable accommodation. - The views across the river were stunning. The chalets behind the hotel were really well maintained and had everything you needed. Staff were very friendly and the hotel did a great evening meal. Nothing.

Barry (7/5): Disappointing as we would have liked a larger room and nicer dining facility. - On arrival staff were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the view from our balcony. Easy parking on site. The king room was modern but in fact very small, we expected a larger room. Dining area was noisy. For an old hotel we did expect a dining room with a softer, old world feeling. No food available before lunch time. However we found an excellent breakfast in Exeter 15 minutes away. The old hotel could do with some love and attention and perhaps some restoration.

Amber (5/5): Uncomfortable - Our outside light didn’t work when we went to use the spa. Spa is quite visible from both pathways, not really advertised well as spa pictures show they’re positioned on the deck for the room I booked. My friend and I felt uncomfortable as we had 2 men walk past asking if we were cold and staring. Connecting door between 2 rooms, I didn’t see anything noted about this. It felt wrong to even have a conversation as someone was on the other side of the door. I would’ve liked to know this before arriving.

KahylaNoosaHeads (6/5): Rooms Okay the Restaurant Not Great - We were two friends sharing a 2 bedroom unit, the main bedroom is basically the living room as well. The second room had absolutely no hanging space, hooks or cupboard. Given that they provide a toaster, kettle and crockery there is the only option of the bathroom sink for washing etc. The blockout blinds were totally broken and useless and ants came in through the window in the second room. The restaurant, we have never been treated so appallingly, staff were rude and dismissive. We were given the worst table despite asking and mentioning that we were staying in house. It took over 30 minutes to even get our drink order. The staff seemed to lack any professionalism. When we did finally receive our meals we were again not asked if we needed more drinks or how we liked the meal we had received. On payment the woman behind the bar merely took our payments and we were dismissed. On reflection we noted that despite only wanting entree size meals we were both charged for the main size. I ordered the Mussels which as an entree came with sour dough toast, the main did not, I was served an entree serving. We did try to enquire the following morning but the office was not manned and we needed to continue our travels. All in all considering what we were charged it was underwhelming in every way. Could not recommend ever!

Arriving, check-in and check-out, and parking at the rooms was super convenient. Great place to be between the wine regions and Launceston! -

Not that I used it but having a straightener as well as a hair dryer was a good addition. Shower was amazing. Dinner was a limited menu but we enjoyed the meal and the service from the staff. Room was smaller than expected but fine for one night.

We saw pademelons in the garden on our way back from dinner at the pub which was lovely! The toilet had wee on the seat when we arrived which we needed to clean up. We were given an accessible room (didn't book it) which was fine, but the shower curtain didn't go down to the floor and meant that the toilet and floor got covered with water when you showered!
