207lindsaye (10/5): Super-friendly and great value for money - Hannah, Bling and Flora were the friendliest and most helpful staff team that I have ever come across at a hotel. Nothing was too much trouble and the stay was amazing value for money. It's a small hotel, just 12 rooms, so very little disturbance from other rooms and everything was clean and lovely. Good air conditioning which was quiet at night and the bathroom/shower room was clean and good. One small consideration is that there is loud live music outside on some evenings (Friday or Saturday) but it stopped by 11pm. Generally, a quiet place, despite being in the lovely Old Quarter and right in the midst of good shops and restaurants. The pool (and breakfast if you want it) is at the Solis (sister hotel) which is a short walk away. It's a lovely roof-top pool with a sky-bar. I felt like this was home, as I stayed for two weeks while my son was in hospital in Hanoi.

La habitación estaba muy limpia y era muy confortable, la comida estaba deliciosa y la ubicación es perfecta para recorrer la ciudad. Lo mejor, sin duda, ha sido la atención del personal: siempre amables, atentos y dispuestos a ayudarnos en todo momento. Muy recomendable.

Katrin (4/5): Disappointed, not a good value for money - Staff was very friendly, but mainly tried to sell extra activities and stuff This hotel was the biggest disappointment during our 3,5 weeks Vietnam trip. It Looks much nicer in the pictures than in reality. It looks like a big hotel, but it’s actually tiny with just 2 rooms per floor. There is NO pool, which was one of the main reasons we picked this hotel and there is also no spa. There is a weird smell throughout the building and in the room. I arrived alone around midnight and when I came to the room the door was left ajar, aswell as the balcony door which made me feel unsafe as a solo female traveller. There were some blood stains on the pillowcase. Overall the value for money does not match at all.

It is located in another hotel 5 min. away which was not clear previously. Installations are old and not reflecting very much the pictures shown.

futurestocks1966 (10/5): Great Hotel in Hanoi - I stayed 5 nights at this excellent hotel in Hanoi from April 10th to 14th and had a wonderful experience. The staff were very welcoming and gave great suggestions for things to see in Hanoi, as well as day trips. My Premium with Windows room was spacious, super clean, and comfortable. The hotel features a nice indoor pool, a rooftop lounge and bar, and a delicious varied breakfast. I especially appreciated the professional reception team, who recommended fantastic outdoor dinners that were truly incredible. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Elizabeth (8/5): Welcoming kind staff! - We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff were so welcoming and kind. Truly the best staff out of all our hotels. We told them our check in time and when we arrived they let us check in early which was a relief after the flight. They also gave us a map of suggested restaurants, cafes and activities. Really great location near shopping and restaurants. They said we could store our luggage for free during our trip to ha long bay which was a convenient offer too. Would highly recommend.

Skylar (10/5): - We only had one night in Hanoi, but Splendid Hotel and Spa was wonderful for what we needed. It’s in a great part of town in the Old Quarter, everything is very walkable. They set up a transfer from the airport which was very easy and convenient. The staff was wonderful, especially Hannah, Flora, and Bling. They had many recommendations for what to do in town. We also got a massage at the spa and it was the perfect end to our time here!

dianehZ7481WB (2/5): Not what is advertised!! Disappointing! - This hotel was a real let down! Old, rundown, dirty and in disrepair. Falsely advertised as having a pool/restaurant and SPA yet none of these were onsite!! We booked this hotel as it advertised having the facilities we wanted. There was NO restaurant onsite, the pool was an 8 minute walk to their "other" motel. There was NO spa onsite also. The photos clearly show these facilities as being onsite - the photos are misleading and false advertising as they are photos of their sister hotel 8 minutes away!! This motel has none of these things. The rooms are very small and bedding and linen are old and threadbare. During our 7 night stay we had several issues, that despite the staff doing their best attempts, could not correct. TV kept dropping channels and was pixelated so badly you could not watch it. The shower was impossible to regulate, either scalding hot or ice cold. Power was cut at one point totally, woken in the middle of the night by the lift making a loud clunking noise! It was horrendous!! Our coffee mugs were placed on top of the toilet cistern? Not very hygienic. This property was in such poor condition and really I would question it's safety in case of fire. We were on the 6th floor and had to use the stairs as the lift was out of order, this was repaired, or so we though - They did have repair man on site (or so they said) but all it did was cause the lift to make a loud clunking sound that kept us awake long into the night, night before our flight home. Upon departure we were asked not to put a bad review on about our stay as they knew all the problems we had during our stay, they even refunded the cost of our airport transfer as said they felt bad about the issues we had endured. Really lovely staff but hey, this hotel was beyond a joke!!

Sadly the property let them down. There was so many issues during our stay. Firstly, the hotel advertises that there is a pool and restaurant and display beautiful photos on their page but there is no pool onsite nor is there a restaurant. The motel is called Splendid hotel and Spa- there is no spa onsite either! Surely this is false advertising? The rooms are very small, so small in fact your coffee mugs are displayed on the toilet cystern!! The water is either scalding hot or freezing cold. At times our toilet didnt flush. The bedding and linen was old, stained and the pillows had no stuffing. The TV had poor reception at times didnt work at all. The lift was out of order one day leaving us to walk down 6 floors of stairs. This was beyond their control along with the electrical power cut but just added to an already stressful stay. The lift was an ongoing issue. On one night making loud clunking noises that sounded like gunshots. It was midnight!! Only means of contact WhatsApp and Hannah got a maintenance man to attend. He clearly turned the lift off as it stopped immediately upon his attendance. It was just one thing after another. How this property rates so highly is beyond us. It sounds like a completely different property. We were offered our airport transfer refunded, free laundry and mini bar if we didnt put a bad review on as there was so many problems during our stay. Clearly, this is why the property rates so highly.. book at your own peril.

Hannah the customer services manager was excellent and went above and beyond to help us and actually moved us to a sister hotel which was so much nicer. The property is advertised as having a pool and spa, but we discovered the first night that these are actually located in a different hotel. We were also advised that the restaurant is in another hotel again. These facilities were key factors in our decision to book here, and we felt we were misled by the description and photos of the property. The website also states that the rooms are soundproof; however, this has not been our experience I also feel that the information about the facilities, especially on booking.com, should be much clearer and more transparent for future guests. In addition, my husband is uncomfortable using lifts, and unfortunately the staircase there presents a health and safety concern. There are items stored along the stairs, and even the receptionist said they were considered to be dangerous

mrcoxexcel (4/5): Not the best hotel but staff were excellent. - I found the hotel to be not as nice as I’d anticipated and so only stayed the three nights booked and then moved to a better hotel in Hanoi. I had expected some luxury at Splendid and a breakfast but neither was forthcoming. The staff were very nice and very helpful, but the rooms were rather down market and in urgent need of refurbishment. I didn’t pay a huge sum for the room and so I wasn’t terribly disappointed, but I expected rather more having read reviews of the Hotel

Der vom Hotel organisierte Flughafentransfer am frühen Morgen hat einwandfrei funktioniert. Uns wurden sogar schon um 10:00 h Zimmer bereitgestellt. Sobald sie verfügbar waren, hat uns die Rezeption per WhatsApp angeschrieben. Perfekt! Das Schwimmbad befindet sich nicht im Hotel.

Lane (9/5): The staff make the experience - these people deserve a pay rise. - The staff (particularly Hannah) went above and beyond to accommodate. There is construction next door which goes all night. I was moved to a sister hotel at no extra cost. The sister hotel was an upgrade however I wasn’t as keen on the new area. Construction- not the hotels fault however this noise went until midnight.
Giana (10/5): - I had a truly lovely stay at this hotel! From the moment I arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming and took such great care of me throughout my stay. They also arranged my airport transfer for a very reasonable fee (under $30 USD), which made both my arrival and departure completely smooth and stress-free. A special shout-out to Hannah and Bling — they are the absolute sweetest and made me feel so comfortable and well looked after. As a solo traveller, I felt extremely safe in the hotel at all times, which meant a lot to me. The location is another huge highlight. The hotel is perfectly central, right next to the night market and Hoan Kiem Lake. Restaurants, shops, cafés, and spas are all just a few minutes’ walk away, making it incredibly convenient to explore the city. I would definitely say this is the perfect hotel, especially for first-time travellers to Hanoi. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again! N/a
Alain (7/5): - la situation est très centrale et la rue de l'hotel reste assez calme car il y a très peu de voiture qui l'empruntent et les quelques voitures qui passent roulent au pas. encore une fois à Hanoi, les photos sur le site ne correspondent pas à la réalité... les chambres seront plus petites que ce que vous pouvez imaginer, il n'y pas de piscine, on vous expliquera que c'est la photo d'un autre hotel du groupe qui est un peu plus loin et que vous pouvez y aller, pas de service de PDJ ( mais de nombreuses solutions dans la rue ) c'était un peu décevant mais loin d'être le pire. On a finalement bien dormi car la rue est calme et c'est bien l'essentiel

Laura (10/5): Lovely staff and great location - Loved my stay here, the staff were absolutely lovely and helpful and the location was fantastic. It was also really clean. I had a great stay, but I thought the pictures were a bit misleading because they show a pool (which is actually in a partner hotel several minutes walk away) and a breakfast buffet (there was no breakfast, but plenty of great food options nearby).

James (1/5): Never again - The property was in an excellent location right across from the lake. Staff was helpful and friendly. Everything else about this hotel was terrible. We had 5 rooms for our party and took up most of the small hotel itself. Each person in our party had something wrong with their room. 1 party had a power outage for a few hours and they couldn’t get into their room. Another room had really bad plumbing issues with their toilet. The ac leaked, the showers would flood the bathrooms turning them into very slippery wet rooms. There are ants in our rooms. The good reviews are WRONG. TERRIBLE HOTEL. DO NOT STAY HERE.
