All of the staff were so attentive and sweet and helped to make our stay special. Slightly outside of the hustle and bustle of Galle but easily accessible by tuk tuk or a short walk, it’s location allowed for a peaceful environment and a good nights sleep 😊 Nothing

Mit Tuktuk in wenigen Minuten im Galle Fort. Auf der eher kleinen Hotelkarte war beim Lunch und Frühstück nicht alles zu bestellen. Der vom Hotel organisierte Transport kostete schlussendlich mehr als bei der Bestätigung einen Tag davor.

Watching the wildlife from the pool was a highlight! The property has so many spots to relax and enjoy your surroundings, and a perfect spot close enough to get into Galle fort easily while still being in a more quiet area outside the busy part of town.

Its unbelievably beautifully curated and we had a wonderful time exploring the grounds and noticing each and every little detail. We actually got upgraded to the best room and each room we were in had character and style. You can't have a bad room. The pool is gorgeous and monkeys pass through which is entertaining and only a little bit scary ahaha. There isn't much to say. Everything is great.

• Lindsay (10/5): Prachtig ingericht koloniaal huis met heerlijk zwembad - Prachtig huis met een warme uitstraling en een mooie tuin. Vogelspotters kunnen hier hun hart ophalen. Het zwembad is precies goed en het personeel supervriendelijk. Tuktuks en uber chauffeurs hebben soms moeite met de locatie omdat maps niet helemaal klopt, maar daar kan The Sun House niks aan doen. Het is simpel genoeg te vinden en daarna kan je chauffeurs instrueren welke afslag ze moeten hebben.
• Achim & Uschi (7/5): Eine schöne Anlage mit kleinen Einschränkungen, die den angenehmen Aufenthalt nicht schmälern ... - Das Frühstück war insgesamt sehr gut, mit einer schönen Auswahl und frischen Produkten. Lediglich schade war, dass der Cappuccino separat berechnet wurde. Die Lage des Sun Houses ist oberhalb von Galle, bei schönem Wetter hatte man eine schönen Aussicht. Der Poolbereich war grundsätzlich angenehm, allerdings ist die Ausstattung bereits etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Zudem gab es nur eine begrenzte Anzahl an Liegen, sodass nicht immer ausreichend Platz für alle Gäste vorhanden war.

• Andrew (10/5): Superb hotel in a quiet location just 5 minutes tuk tuk ride from Galle Fort - We stayed in the Queen room which was very clean and comfortable with a nice big bathroom area. The property was once a colonial house and is utterly superb and serene even though quite close to the fort. It was magical having a drink in the swimming pool area and watching the monkeys playing in the trees, an experience to remember. Excellent breakfast and great staff all around. Thank you for making our stay a memorable one. All good.

• Anna (10/5): Beautiful hotel in a serene location close to the Dutch Fort - This was, without a doubt, the best hotel we stayed in during our tour of Sri Lanka. The location is great, away from the hustle and bustle of town but just a short walk away. The property is beautiful and very serene. We had a lovely surprise when we arrived as they upgraded us the the Dumas suite, which, I have to say, was truly outstanding. Huge room on high level with amazing close up views of the monkeys in the trees. Food and drinks at the hotel are excellent. You will definitely not be disappointed if you choose this hotel.

Eating a la carte was a little pricey. The location was quiet and although outside of the Fort it felt very special. The walk to the Fort was a bit hot with lots of busy roads - but we could have taken a tuktuk.

The staff were exceptional and couldn’t do enough for us. Of particular mention was Priyantha, but all of the staff were a credit to the hotel. Nothing! It was perfect.

The pool was lovely - it was just us for a good few hours. The food was fantastic - amazing breakfasts - I had the shakshouka and my husband the Sri Lankan curry - both delish and large quantities. We ate there once in the evening - seared tuna a winner. Water temperature was a bit hit and miss

• Amelia (10/5): beautiful luxe stay, definitely recommend! - absolutely perfect end to our trip and the nicest place I've ever stayed - adored being able to walk around the place, lounge by the pool, bird / nature watch, play games, read books. all the staff were so lovely and attentive, (special shout out to Priyantha). the food was incredible - best breakfast (recommend the Sri Lankan breakfast), and we ate most meals at the Gallean restaurant (must try the barramandi and the HFC and basque cheesecake) which is a must. staff were so thoughtful and kind - they let us lounge around way past our checkout so we could go straight to the airport afterwards. thank you and would absolutely recommend this place! nothing - it was perfect!

• Charlotte (10/5): Gorgeous room and stay, highly recommended. - We stayed in the 'Study Room' which is the queen room on ground floor. The room was beautiful and so individually furnished with gorgeous touches. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was unexpectedly large with lovely design features. This was also by far the best shower we had in two weeks in Sri Lanka. The staff were so friendly and gave us a tour and told us about the history on arrival. The breakfast was delicious and we thought the drinks at the bar were reasonably priced. The citronella lotion was lovely also. We would have loved to stay longer! A minor point but a fridge in the room would be handy.

The place is gorgeous, with comfy rooms, beautifully designed common areas, and a stunning garden with a pool, birds, and even monkeys. Breakfast is delicious with plenty of options, and other meals in the restaurant, as well as the cocktails, are superb. The staff is incredibly helpful. We even received a room upgrade for our last night and a complimentary bottle of wine with our dinner, which was a nice touch. I would definitely come back to the Sun House! There's nothing I can think of.

Het personeel is zeer behulpzaam en vriendelijk. Je kan er heerlijk eten, zowel ontbijt, lunch als diner. De kamer was fantastisch, ruim, prachtige badkamer, uitzicht op groen met apen in de bomen. Heel leuk! Ik heb genoten en vond het moeilijk om te vertrekken. Was er graag langer gebleven. niets

• Nienke (10/5): 10 for the beds, the staff, the restaurant and the beautiful hotel! - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Dreamy & Authentic Stay at The Sun House. We really enjoyed our time at The Sun House. The rooms are amazing, much better than they look in photos! And the whole place has a very authentic feel. You can tell that a lot of thought has gone into all the details. The staff were excellent and helped us organise some great trips and transport. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant on two nights and enjoyed some very good cocktails. Very delicious!! The hotel is a calm, quiet space, away from the busyness of Galle but still very close to everything. And the beds are incredible, some of the most comfortable we’ve slept in. Definitely recommend!! Nothing

• Katerine (10/5): I’m beyond impressed, it;s a gem! I’d come back to Sri Lanka only for this place. - Exceptional in every aspect! It was 11/10 on all dimensions. The location is superb — perfect for Galle trips and just a short drive from the beach. The architecture and design are simply beyond and above; you could easily spend hours admiring the beautifully and tastefully decorated villa, the lush garden, and the surrounding jungle — truly a feast for the eyes. It’s a quiet and peaceful place. The chef, breakfast selection, all-day menu, and service are top-notch — think curry clams with garlic bread! The staff were incredibly helpful with anything and everything, and the in-room service was exceptional — on par with what you’d expect from Small Luxury Hotels of the World. If there’s one thing worth splurging on, I’d strongly recommend booking a higher-category room — it will triple your experience of the space for probably just an extra ~$100. If of any relevance to anyone, a fridge with refreshments in the room. That's pretty much it.

Fanatisches, sehr aufmerksames Personal! Tolle Lage und super schöne Zimmer! Außergewöhnliches Frühstück und hervorragendes Essen im Hotel eigenen Restaurant! Gepflegte Gartenanlage mit Pool die zum Entspannen einlädt! Nichts

• Katherine (10/5): Superb - A lovely boutique hotel within walking distance to Galle Fort. We stayed in the Gallean Suite which is huge, the bed was very comfortable, the shower amazing and loved the outside bath! The interiors are beautiful, the staff and extremely helpful and friendly and the food was delicious. A great option if you want to visit Galle Fort but be away from the hustle and bustle and close to nature. We saw purple face monkeys in the trees on our walk down to the Fort in the morning.
