Guest Reviews
- Cindy (10/5): -
- Marla (8/5): MamaG63 - Nice & clean Small little ants on the desk area.
- Sprouse (7/5): Predictable amenities with very little guest support after check in. - Staff very nice, but had to be summoned since no one seems to staff the front desk consistently. Had to ring a buzzer or make a phone call every time we needed help. Not a huge deal, but time consuming. Breakfast only OK, but for the price, it met our needs. Very noisy. Walls and hallways insufficient to block noise from outside the room/coming from other rooms. Front desk staff was absent after 8.30PM to address noise complaints. Felt like the facilities were fine, but that guests were mainly on our own once we checked in. Not a lot of guest support, presumably because this chain does not want to pay people to work after hours shifts in order to meet guest needs.
- Sandra (7/5): For most part ok. - The breakfast was good. The people friendly. It was noisy with large truck running in parking lot.
- Winfrey (10/5): -
- Linn (10/5): -
- Janice (7/5): Adequate for what we needed. - Comfortable room Air conditioner sweaked for about 5 seconds every time it turned off, and was loud enough to wake us up.
Breakfast was ok, but nothing to brag about.
- Jamie (8/5): NA - The location was great. It was close to the Simpson Campus and restaurants. The facility was clean but noticed our room bathroom could use an upgrade. cracks in ceiling etc. NA
- Wanda (10/5): Great stay - Nice and quiet beautiful rooms great breakfasts Easy to get around to other places
- Scharn (10/5): -
- Spear (7/5): - Staff was pleasant and breakfast very good Room was very cold - windows didn't seem to be sealed. Wind was blowing right through the sides - like no caulk. Asked for extra blankets and cranked heat up to 80 degrees all night
- Craig (8/5): - The gym was out of. order
- Michael (10/5): - Nice breakfast
- Daryl (8/5): - Like most hotel properties, window A/C units do not get regular cleaning - thus allergies. My nose ran inside the room. Not outside where construct hay was spread and grass mowed.
Both beds have 3 tabs sticking out that will gouge your leg. Liability issue if someone pursed.
- Janita (10/5): - Friendly service
- Deborah (10/5): - Clean and comfortable.
- Sheila (10/5): - The best hotel coffee I've ever had available all day in the lobby.
- Michelle (10/5): - The room was clean and comfortable. Check in was quick and easy and there was plenty of parking.
- Trisha (10/5): - Clean room. Friendly check-in experience.
- John (10/5): - I stay at this property multiple times a year and have done so for many years. It is consistently good and I have always had a positive experience when booking a room there.
- John (10/5): - I stay at this property several time a year and have done so for many years and have always had a very positive experience.
- Jayne (10/5): - Was an enjoyable stay.
- Jacqui Crafter (10/5): We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would look to stay there again in the future. - The staff at this hotel were fabulous! They went out of their way to provide any service requirements and as we were guests for 13 days, they were able to pre-empt any requests that we may have had eg. strawberry jam at breakfast.
The room was comfortable with a lovely views across the surrounding areas. There is plenty of onsite free parking which was able to accommodate vehicles of all sizes. A couple of the newer night staff members could benefit from some training as they were not always in line with the day staff knowledge.
The only payment option for the washer and drier was quarters, which the hotel did not keep an ongoing supply.
- Maritza (10/5): - This place was amazing, very clean and cozy everyone was very friendly.
- Andy (10/5): - Our stay at this location was awesome and I look forward returning. The staff were courteous, efficient, and serving. The breakfast was different every morning and was tasty.
- Kerry (10/5): - Having to pay an additional $25.00. I was told it was for incidentals. Not sure what that means.
- Morgan (10/5): - Great place to stay for hinterland.
- Scott (10/5): - Great breakfast, clean hotel.
- Dan (10/5): Great location - Very nice hotel!
This is the 4th night stay in the hotel. We come up each year for two nights for the racing at Knoxville. Will be back.
- Alyssa (4/5): - The room was very unclean when we checked in. The shower had a brown sticky substance all over the bottom and since there were no housekeepers working at the time, we had to clean it ourselves. The towels were wet and there was leftover Chinese food in the refrigerator. We have stayed here before and did not have this issue. Unfortunately, we won’t be booking again. Very disappointed.
- Jason (8/5): - flew into Des Moines for the Knoxville nationals and this was an ideal location for our stay and would return again
- Mary Ann (10/5): - Bed was comfortable
- Krysl (1/5): They don't take responsibility for damages! - nothing Their sprinklers were not adjusted correctly and completely hit our car. They have VERY hard water and it left calcium deposits on our car which don't just come off with a car wash. This ruins the paint and has to be buffed off by a car detailing shop. They refused to pay for the damage to our car!
- Andrew (6/5): - Downsides: floors are terribly thin and it sounds like elephants stay in the room above you. Our shower was also broken - had to hold the arm out so the shower stayed on (difficult to shower when you’re bent over and lost the use of one arm).
Upsides: the staff is very helpful and friendly. Breakfast is also decent and stays open later on the weekends.
Overall I had to give it a 3 because of the thin floors. Otherwise it would be a 5.
- Theresa (9/5): -
- Mary (10/5): It was very enjoyable - Nice, clean and close to balloon fest. They had a wonderful breakfast too and cookies in the afternoon. Nothing
- MARY (10/5): - Super kind staff and a very clean property. Breakfast was great and the people who prepare and served were helpful.
- Maryann (10/5): - Pam at the desk was so helpful. She really is a people person. Our room was very nice and the free breakfast items were good
- Chong (10/5): - We were on the second floor and third floor walked with heavy steps. While sleeping, we heard every steps they walked on thrid floor. Cant really sleep but it's okay.
- Mary (10/5): Exceptional -
- Susan (10/5): Great! - Clean, large rooms with quiet air conditioning made for a comfortable stay.
- Loomis (5/5): Double payment because I was late? Not happening! - I was late getting there and I let them know this yet they had me as a no show but still charged my card. When I finally got there, they said I would need to reserve another room for a higher price than before even though they had already charged my card and the room was paid for. They weren't going to let me stay and knowing I was going to be late. After making a scene, they ended up letting me have the room that i paid for. I was not at all happy about any of this. Charge me a higher price for a room that they took money from my card to pay for and make me pay a 2nd time because I was late and they kn
ew I was going to be late?? Not happening! Very very disappointed with this! Not sure i will stay here again in the future and I'm a frequent traveler.
- Paul (8/5): - Great shower, uncomfortable bed
- Jerry (10/5): - Very clean, staff is very professional and friendly.
- David (2/5): won't be staying at this location again and won't recommend - very poor breakfast. Pool area very muggy and hot (indoor pool). rooms have no phones, laundry facilities broken not working. very uncomfortable beds and very poorly maintained premises. elevator wasn't working for an entire day. still wasn't working on checking out day. I wouldn't recommend this property. very poor breakfast and building upkeep. for a building that's only 7 years old you would think it was 20 to 30 years old due to poor upkeep. -
- Francine (10/5): - Everything was really nice except the breakfast.
Free breakfast with very unhealthy choices
- Walter (8/5): - Quality nights sleep at a semi-reasonable price close to our daughter’s college.
- Jacquelyn (10/5): If I have to be in Iowa I want to be here - This hotel never disappoints. Pam has checked me in several times and shes always super kind and informative. The beds are comfortable, you forget youre in a hotel. The pool area is clean and was so enjoyable and breakfast is boom, so many options provided! Its a great stay for the kids and I as we stop for a rest while traveling to see family. I will book here every time im in the area, as long as theres room for me :)
- Ntsees (6/5): - House keeping never came to clean and take out our trash from our room. We never got new towels, but I found house keeping in the hallway and requested for 4 white towels and tossed my own trash away.
- Fred (6/5): - Desk was unattended and means to signal did not help. Had to ask for bed sheets and blankets for sofa bed and and bed. Did not offer to bring up- just handed to me.
TV only got 4 channels- no cable. Paid $200 for King Deluxe Suite and it was far from that.
- Spring (10/5): - Very nice. Clean. Friendly staff
- Fry (1/5): Bad -
- Rebecca (8/5): - Friendly staff. Easy check in. Ice machine on 3rd floor not working had to go to 1st floor. Missing a curtain and when showered- the bathroom floor flooded so had to lie a towel down to keep from slipping and falling. Shouldn’t have been charged $2 for a bottle of water - should be complementary. Good things- great and friendly staff. Kitchen worker was pleasant and helpful. Breakfast buffet got an A+ Bed was really comfy. Liked the long hours for breakfast. Would I stay again / most definitely
- Sandra (9/5): Graduation weekend - Easy to access , and clean We were in a handicapped room
, which is fine . However- we never learned how to keep water off the floor from the shower
- Debbie (10/5): Great location - The property is relatively new and completely updated. The furnishings were nice. The beds were very comfortable. I was driving a 26 ft box truck and there was no issues with finding parking at this facility
- keith (6/5): A tad disappointing - Have stayed here several times. Staff is always friendly and courteous. This was the first we encountered less than perfect room. Closed curtains to reveal torn sheers. Shower still had soap and shampoo from last occupant and back of bathroom door was all marked up
- Sharleen (10/5): - Business related and chose this location as it had a gym.
I arrived and the gym was closed for repairs. Sad….it should be updated daily on your website and links through secondary booking options!
- Ronald (10/5): Spectacular! - Very clean, comfortable bed. This a new hotel. At breakfast time it was very busy and both chafing dishes were empty. This is at 8:30 and they never got refilled the entire time we were at breakfast. So everyone was making waffles instead and the line was very long. Don't get me wrong thou, just because breakfast was kind of light, would definitely stay here again.
- Cheryl (10/5): Exceptional - nice rooms, good breakfast, and pleasant helps
- Deborah (10/5): - Friendly and clean. Nice size rooms!
- Janet (10/5): - We appreciate the ability to relax in the patio and dining areas for games and conversation.
- Monica (6/5): - I didn't appreciate the check-in clerk sharing his political opinions with me, calling President. Biden "Sleepy Joe". (Not everyone in Iowa is a conservative, and certainly not everyone VISITING Iowa.)
There was also a wedding party that returned to the hotel around 10:30, and the guests let their children run screeching up and down the hallways. The adults were no better, slamming doors over and over and shouting to one another. They caroused in the VERY cavernous lobby down the hall until almost 1am. That's when I finally called the front desk. Robin convinced them there there were other guests in the hotel. I had a very early flight the next morning, and only managed about 3 hours sleep, given the disturbances. But the room was spotless and the bed and pillows comfortable for the limited overnight stay I was there.
- David (2/5): - We made this reservation thru Expedia and they wouldn’t let us cancel. The dates I requested were for the 3rd of May and checking out the 4th of May. I tried to cancel with a phone call to this property to no avail. I doubt you can help me with a refund since we did not use this reservation.
- Tammy (1/5): Beware - Location Broken tub, cobwebs from ceiling, unorganized when computers were down. Small discount for inconvenience
- Kevin (2/5): - We were in town for a wedding the weekend of 5/3/25. Booked two rooms for one night to get ready for the wedding and stay the night after the reception.
Got to the hotel at 2:30 to check in and the lobby was packed with people.
Odd, I thought, but it was a big wedding, and this was the hotel that the wedding planners set up for the families.
Tried to check in and quickly found out that all the computers were off-line and half of the hotel had no power.
The staff were beside themselves, confused, unable to take charge of the situation.
We were patient with them, and even suggested solutions in the interim, until they could get things fixed.
The wedding started at 4:30 and it was approaching 3:30. When it was clear that they had no solution to the problem, we cancelled, and booked a room at another hotel down the street.
- Kc (8/5): - Hotel was nice. Pillows were eh, the house keeping kept trying to come into our room. Good thing I had the door lock up.
I’d stay here again
- Rebecca (8/5): - The room we stayed in had drywall missing due to water damage in the bathroom. Carpet in hallway was old and had areas where it was loose. The facility was clean. Bed was too soft for my liking.
- Krystal (10/5): - Check inbwas smooth, rooms were clean. Beds and pillows were comfortable.
- Larry (8/5): Very good -
- Wade (8/5): Very good -
- Brandon (8/5): - The pool was kind of gross. Other than that though everything else was good and clean.
- Tammy (10/5): This was the second time we have stayed and were completely satisfied and highly recommend this hote - Friendly and helpful staff. Nothing
- Amber (6/5): - Hot tub not in order pool area is dirty. Elevator button broken so it looks like you can’t get on from second floor but you need to stick finger in hole
- John (10/5): - I stay at this property multiple times per year, and have always had a good experience. This time was no exception.
- Todd (2/5): - terrible water pressure, dribble at best.
i was charged, an unexpected fee, of $25, i dont care that i supposedly get it back in 5 days. this should not happen, and will avoid your hotels.
very unhappy customer
- Verified traveler (4/5): Hotel looks nice but smells musty - maybe 2 stars - Room smelled musty and I was put in an accessible room right by the vending machine and pool, so it was also loud. Front desk staff were nice but had to wait 10 minutes to check in because they were understaffed and the clerk was doing housekeeping work. Would not stay here again.
- Tiffany (6/5): - The hot tub was down, one of the reasons I wanted to get a room here was for the hot tub and pool.
The room we were in had black mold by the tub, I have small children.
- John (10/5): - Easy check-in. Clean room.
- Bradley (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gerald (9/5): Superb -
- Betty (10/5): - The staff was super accommodating and friendly rooms were super clean. Everything looked great. Had a wonderful day. Will be checking out tomorrow.
- Melody (8/5): Noisy at times from room above us late night &early morning, breakfast could have been better - The cleanliness of the room, friendly staff No complaints of the property
- Donna (8/5): Very good -
- Jon C (10/5): - Nothing
- Karina (10/5): Exceptional - The staff was so welcoming and kind. The room was very clean. The location was perfect, 15 mnts from the airport. Breakfast was fine for this hotel type. I will definitely stay here again.
- Gerald (7/5): We went for our Aunts Funeral. The weather was not cooperative so it was nice to have a clean warm bed. - The staff was awesome especially the young lady taking care of breakfast and the rooms were nice and clean. We were very comfortable. Weather conditions caused us to stay an extra night and there were no issues getting another room. We would not of used the pool area, but had we wanted to…we would not have used it. It may of just been the time of year, but it didn’t seem “healthy safe”. Not sure why the drinking fountains looked the way they did but😬😬
- Jennifer (10/5): - More outlets outside to plug in diesel engines, would be helpful.
- Mike (10/5): - This is our regular hotel choice when staying in Indianola. Always clean and quiet
- Stephanie (10/5): - Ok
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The bed was okay but the pillows need to be replaced. I used two and still woke up with a stiff neck. The breakfast needs an overhaul-no meats, the gravy tasted like corned beef hash gravy as opposed to sausage gravy, the eggs are gross because they come out of a bag and just put in the warmer. The waffle maker was good.
The shampoo and conditioner could be better. Maybe invest in some of the pumps that hang on the shower walls. The fridge worked well and the bottled water is a nice thing to have in the room.
- John (10/5): - I stay at this property a half dozen times a year and have always had a good experience. Booked the most recent stay on short notice and was happy to get a room and at a fair rate.
- Jordan (9/5): Superb -
- John (6/5): - I stay at this property a half dozen times per year and have had generally good experiences. Unfortunately there was no Internet throughout the building yesterday and throughout the night and I understand the Internet Service Provider said everything was fine while it was obviously not fine. Internet is back up and running today
- Shane (10/5): - I enjoyed this hotel. It’s tied to the downtown skywalk. Made it convenient to stay warm but still able to walk close to destination.
- Colleen (10/5): I got in late and I was very tired. They were quick and efficient at checkin. Breakfast was delicious and breakfast ar - Very friendly staff Comfortable room and bed
- John (10/5): - I stay at this property a half dozen times a year and have always had a positive experience.
- Kenneth (8/5): Indianola, Iowa - Very nice little hotel. The room was very nice. The service was excellent. The breakfast needs improvement though. All in all it was a great stay!
- James (6/5): Pleasant -
- Carol (10/5): - Clean room and friendly staff.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great family stay! - Our 1 night stay was well worth it. The hotel was clean and welcoming. Check in was simple and the receptionist was so nice, very informative of hotel amenities and accommodating with any needs and questions. Our room was clean, had all the expected hotel room needs. Beds were very comfortable (1 more pillow per queen bed would be rad so if there's 2 people each get two pillows). The pool area was also nice, clean, and everything worked. I felt very tended to by all staff from check in, to in the hallways and at breakfast, they were friendly, helpful, and made our family feel seen. It was a great trip and stay for our family, thank you!
