• Reinhard (9/5): - Tolles, reichhaltiges Frühstück Die Abendkarte war außergewöhnlich gut mit sehr vernünftigen Preisen Gasthaus liegt direkt an der Durchgangsstraße (Nachts sehr wenig Verkehr) jedoch die unmittelbare Nähe zur Kirche ist ab 06.00 viertelstündlich gut zu hören.

Camera spaziosa e pulitissima, colazione super, parcheggio disponibile in loco e utilissimo avere il ristorante all'interno: in inverno la location è comunque in un paesino distante da strade principali per cui se nevica può essere difficile trovare altro in zona aperto o semplicemente da raggiungere (meglio avere le gomme invernali o almeno quattro stagioni montate o catene pronte nel caso) Ricordarsi di portare le mascherine se volete avere il buio in camera...

• Kristian (10/5): - Hinfahren lohnt sich. Super Essen, sowohl Abends als auch zum Frühstück. Auch die Bedienung war hervorragend.
• Wolfgang (9/5): Wir kommen bestimmt wieder. - Eigentlich war alles hervorragend. Nette Menschen, gutes Quartier, sehr gutes Frühstück und abends a la Karte umwerfend. Lange nicht so gut bewirtet worden. Spitzenkoch hat Sterne verdient. Geschmack toll und sehr schön immer angerichtet. Das Preis-/Leistungsverhälnis ist auch sehr gut. Also auch für den schmalen Geldbeutel zu empfehlen. Montags Schließtag des Restaurants.

• Ivor (10/5): A haven in the Sud Schwarzwald - We have stayed at the Kreuz several times previously on our long trips to Austria. We always get a warm welcome and are made to feel at home. The location in the Sud Schwarzwald village of Riedern am Wald is super peaceful and calm. Our room was, as usual, very clean and comfortable. Breakfast is a good start to the day. Only 20 minutes drive from the lovely lake Schluchsee, passing the well known Rothaus Brewery. Nothing

• Nigel (7/5): Excellent breakfast but quite remote in location. - Plenty of parking. Our room had a nice terrace. Breakfast was excellent, one of the best in our 4 week trip. No local amenities. On site restaurant closed the day of our arrival (we must have missed this when booking as it does state this on the website).
• David (7/5): A two night stay that was different on each night. Quite poor then very good! - Myself and two friends stayed here for two nights in June 2023. The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly and accommodating. The location was really good as we were touring on motorbikes and both the B500 and the Swiss Passes (Grimsel, Susten and Furka) were in easy reach. We only ate at the Hotel Kreuz restaurant once during our stay (see below) but the evening meals were good as was breakfast on both mornings. Traveller Beware: The restaurant at this hotel and indeed in the other Guesthouse in Uhlingen Birkendorf are CLOSED on Mondays (the night we stayed). We had no advanced notice of this and it was VERY frustrating for us. The hotel arranged a taxi for us to go to the next village for dinner. HOWEVER, the taxi driver wanted Euro 20 to collect us and a further Euro 16 to take us a couple of kilometers down the road!! We could smell alcohol in the taxi and the driver drove very quickly and a little erratically for our liking. Having paid Euro 36 for a VERY short and "interesting" ride, literally down the road. We walked back after dinner. It was that close by!!
• Bryan (10/5): Exceptional - Very warm welcome the room large and clean.the evening meal was the best food that I have had on my trip and the breakfast was also excellent would definitely stay again and recommend . Nothing at all to not like.
