Guest Reviews
- Carl (8/5): -
- Edwards (5/5): Comfortable - Good breakfast E ntrance to property has pot holes needrepair
- Colin (5/5): A bed, about it - Location Worst breakfast ever
- Durr (7/5): - Breakfast was okay. Place was clean but need for bedside lamps exists.
- SHERRY (10/5): Stay was great - Excellent customer service A little more ADA ramps closer to the hotel entrance
- Michael (8/5): - Convenient to what I needed. It was run down.
- Manuela (5/5): My stay was disappointing due to poor housekeeping, a basic breakfast, and the lack of gym access. - I saw the breakfast offering and it was only fair; very simple, small, and lacked variety. It’s a decent place for a quick stay, but the management should definitely look into improving breakfast selection. Toilet drain pipe. It was very noisy all the time. I was disappointed to find that housekeeping did not change the bed linens during my stay. Also, the Booking.com listing mentioned a gym, but it wasn't available. The manager said it was under maintenance, but I was never given a timeline for when it would reopen.
- Ashley (8/5): - Great location. Great atmosphere. Cleanliness 9/10
- lemaitre (9/5): - L'ensemble des prestations était bien
- ALAIN PIERRE (9/5): - RAS Ras
- Johnson (9/5): I really don’t have to sum anything up, since I know I’ll be staying here for the next board meeting. If Ididn’t like it - I love to stay here. I have to come every 2 months for a board meeting. I’ve been staying at this particular hotel for about 2 years straight. We have tried 6 or 8 others around town and for the money, this one wins hands down. Most of the other hotels have a little nicer things in them, but when you just need a nice, clean comfortable bed to put your head down on, this one beats them all. And if you do need something, all you have to do is ask. We usually arrive late in the evening, and the lobby is supposed to be open until 10:00, but it’s usually already locked up by the time I get there so I have to check-in from the outside window. This particular visit, it was really cold, so I don’t like standing there 5 minutes or so, freezing my buns off, but I guess I can’t blame them the way things are these days.
Also, it is next door to a gentleman’s club. Since I always arrive on Sunday evening, it’s closed, but I don’t know how it might be during the week or weekend.
- jorie (10/5): it was a comfortable place to stay especially if you are on a budget - location was great. the bed was phenomenal. the housekeeping was exceptional. the hotel was quiet and i felt safe didn't like it was across from a gentlemen's club but, the club wasn't obnoxious but it was an eye sore
- Sarsfield Jr (1/5): Ghetto Hotel Hell - Nothing about it was nice! Didn't like the hollow walls, with the neighboring room, slamming the dresser drawers at all hrs. And whispering that I could hear clearly. Didn't like the fact that when I arrived I had to pay a $120.00 deposit that I still didn't get back, when the guy that checked me in said I would get it back when I check out, didn't happen. Also someone turned my door handle seeing if it was unlocked. Good place to get shot if you stand up for yourself, very trashy rundown place with very loud A/C units.
- Roger (6/5): - Other than shower head broken everything was good. Brought it to the desk clerks attention right after checking in and showed photos of it. Told him it wasnt a big deal right now but needs fixed so i could that a shower the next day and not have to hold it. It was never fixed. They never offered to swap rooms or anything.
- Dale (10/5): - Right near all the shops and restaurants around, and right next to the freeway (without all the noise of the freeway). Would recommend for any type of stay, short or long. Certainly would rebook without hesitation if I am ever lucky enough to return to this beautiful area.
- Mark (2/5): - Fast service and good availability
- Tabitha (4/5): - we checked in at 3 and tell me that our room has 1 bed when my confirmation emails clearly said 2 beds but there was “nothing they could do” and then we walk into our room still not cleaned, they then transferred us to another room. it smelled of mildew terribly. upon checking out i was asking for my $100 security deposit back and they were trying to act like i didn’t give them cash, eventually he realized it was in another envelope and gave it back to us. will literally never come back, only good thing is this hotel shared a parking lot with a strip club
- Nayari (10/5): LSU trip - The service was really polite, quick to respond if need, clean, close to LSU.
It will be back and stay there. Good Price.
My only suggestion is to be aware who came late asking for stay, some people got there around 1am really loud and didn’t stop Making noises. And because of that our 1st. Night was terrible. We couldn’t sleep they didn’t stop all night.
- Peter (6/5): - Not a good area, surrounded by unwanted stores
- Daniel (10/5): - It's a calm space and not loud I would definitely come back.
- Elizabeth (2/5): - Oh well, this place smells bad and its carpet needs to be removed. The hotel should be renovated
- Alyson (1/5): HORRIBLE!!! Stay anywhere else - Absolutely nothing about this property is appealing. The room smelled like a stinky man showered with axe body spray. There was a used soap bar in my shower. The bed is uncomfortable. The front desk tried to double charge me (twice!!!) booking was less than helpful with this concern. Your entire stay feels like you are being watched from somewhere. The AC is temperature locked. Breakfast is scary looking. Spend the extra money and go literally anywhere else.
- Alyson (1/5): HORRIBLE. Stay anywhere else! - I did not like a single thing about this property.
- Solomon (1/5): Room was dirty, Ran out of coffee, pillows, and towels - Place to stay Room was dirty, reserved a queen bed and got a king so my son had to sleep on the floor. Ran out of coffee, pillows, and towels
- Misti (4/5): - The gentleman at the front desk that wore the turban was very professional and nice. The gentleman who was maintenance was rude and not a real maintenance man. Our air-conditioning broke. ( The front desk gentleman with the turban was polite and moved out room.) The other gentleman came by and said it work now. The fridge wasn't staying cold enough he reached in and took frost off back said it working
- Genia (2/5): - Parking is limited with people hanging out around the property. Didnt feel safe leaving my car. The property smells like mold. The smell was so strong and unbearable in the room i couldn't sleep at all and ended up sleeping in the car. Really horrible experience
- Deirdre (6/5): - It’s a good place to sleep. Hair dryer was broken, vending machines only took coins but no sign saying so, breakfast is VERY basic and the coffee machine was acting up, and there was a herd of tumbling elephants above us the first night. We were so tired, we managed to sleep anyway. Staff is nice. Location great for college drop off (Walmart, iHop etc.) close by. I would stay here again - just have low mush expectations
- Tiffany (8/5): Overall fine - Privacy I got bitten by something
- Alberti (9/5): - Breakfast included and the staff !
- Roger (10/5): Great stay - 2nd time staying there this year and enjoyed my stay again. Room was clean and staff was amazing. Only grip would be the smaller pillows on the bed when it comes to the lenght of them. But the were extra fluffy and comfortable. Is in a good central location to alot of food, entertainment and shopping.
- John (8/5): Budget stay in Baton Rouge - For a budget hotel it’s in good shape. Location is good not too far off the highway with lots of food options and a Walmart right down the street. It is next door to a gentleman’s club. Not sure if that’s a pro or con. 😂 Room was comfortable. AC worked well. Free WiFi. Free parking. Overall a good place at a good price.
- Amy (10/5): - Clean room.
- John (7/5): -
- Daniel (8/5): - Was a good property kind of slow on the check in, but I did arrive really late about 3:30am . Right next to the penthouse strip club. I’m pretty sure I had breakfast in the lobby with the stripper awesome
- MD (10/5): - Clean
- ROGER (2/5): - Mold in multiple rooms
- Lidiane (8/5): - A little old the property but overall good!!!
- Kristyn (8/5): Good for quick trip - The hotel was in a very convenient location. Was a little concerned when I pulled up and saw a gentleman’s club in the parking lot. But I stayed on a Sunday night and it was quiet. Bathroom was noticeably cleaner than most hotels. Overall would stay here again if needed.
- Kim (10/5): - Very clean and the staff is always very friendly and helpful. I have been staying here for years and always enjoy it. Good prices too.
- Laura (9/5): -
- Rosiland (6/5): - I liked that it was close to an event we were attending at LSU. The staff was nice and friendly. Breakfast wasn't much. The best thing was that there was sweet original coffeemate for the coffee. Our room was clean, but it smelled like a moldy wet smell. It appears that a room must have been leaking and made its way to the hallway. Not sure if the leak was under the floors, but our flooring was damp looking in the morning. The manager came in our room to check to see if we had anything leaking, but nothing seemed to be. I can't complain too much, as the rates were something I could afford. It was also very near Walmart and lots of restaurants nearby.
- Jabone (8/5): - The property is clean. The room set up is practical but not cozy
- regina (10/5): - This is always a nice place to stay. It so very quiet, clean, and friendly!!!
- Marcel (8/5): -
- Ebonnie (8/5): - Quick check in. The beds were clean and comfortable. The bathroom was also clean which was great. Breakfast was lacking we skipped it because it wasn’t anything special. Sunny D instead of OJ.
- Bashir (6/5): - I stayed at Econo Lodge Baton Rouge University Area. The staff were kind and welcoming, especially Mr. Omar, the humble manager running what seems to be a family-owned business. The room was clean and organized, and the area was quiet; suitable for rest or study. The location is convenient, close to marts, restaurants, and several universities.
While affordable, several issues led me to cancel the rest of my reservation at this hotel. The "free breakfast" was just coffee and a few snacks—definitely not a real breakfast. One of the biscuits was so dry it almost broke my son's teeth and should be removed. Towels were very old and worn out, and one housekeeper lacked basic professional etiquette.
In the end, thus hotel is economically great and is a suitable option for travelers who just need a simple place to relax for a few hours.
- Gabor (8/5): Great Hotel - Great hotel to stay at. The Hotel has all accessibility and the breakfast was good. The room was clean and well maintained. No issues anytime during our stay.
- Tamara (4/5): - Was definitely not handicap accessible. There were only steps to get in front door with no ramps. We were supposedly in handicap room but there were no accommodations for handicap person to take shower. There was no water pressure in the sink. Could barely brush our teeth. The shower head ws brokeaand just hanging down in the shower. Works not recommend this place.
- Gian Maria Vito (5/5): -
- scott (8/5): - Met my needs.
Locale: near needs for stay
- Zachary (10/5): - Very clean and very nice
- Jeff (6/5): -
- Carlos (7/5): Recomendable - Habitación muy comoda y espaciosa. Buena ubicación. Desayuno muy escaso.
- Shalimar (8/5): -
- Robert (6/5): - .
- Flavie (9/5): Super séjour -
- Janice (6/5): - The room was very clean and quiet, but it had a very strange odor, not of cleaning but a strange deoderizer. The breakfast, biscuits and sausage, were in a container but were cold and hard, even the microwave couldn't fix.
- Dung (10/5): - I like how clean and convenient the location from the hotel to surrounding area. The staff are friendly and helpful.
- David (8/5): - Property was clean and convenient.
- Kim (10/5): - The only thing was we only had one very small waste basket. We did not have one in the bathroom..
- brian (8/5): - Decent for a night. Clean, convenient to the interstate. Small breakfast but theres a strip club next door, so theres that.
- vicki (1/5): I DID NOT STAY THEY CANCELED MY RESERVATION BECAUSE THEY OR YOU TRIUED TO RUN MY CARD BEFORE I GOT -
- Hall (4/5): very sad - room was clean the breakfast. they said it was open from 6 to 9am. I went down there every morning at 7am and there was no food. there was no staff at the desk to ask. also the mattress kepted moving off the frame when all that was down was sleep. the pillows was small
- loricW4687CR (10/5): Good night - Very clean room, hotel staff very friendly. The breakfast was not pleasant at all served Sunnydelight to drink old donuts. Overall the room was great. A little pricey the taxes were overall high considering the room was that expensive. Location was close to everything
- Kenneth (6/5): -
- Patrick (10/5): - Not even 5 seconds to checkin. Kind of in the middle of everuthing but quiet and accessible.
- Susan (4/5): - Location I got charged for 3 rooms instead of 2.
The rooms were dirty.
The breakfast was awful.
- Susan (4/5): - Location Dirty, trash under the chair and bed. Had a lot of hair in the shower. No washclothes in my room. The breakfast only had sausage and donuts. I got charged for an extra room and now have to deal with getting reimbursement.
- Maximo (6/5): - Berry good
- Frank (6/5): - Person behind the counter was very hard to understand
- Todd (2/5): - Breakfast was terrible.
Management didnt do ANYTHING about the dog barking in the room next to us. 4 days of a dog barking was horrible
- Taylor (6/5): -
- Steven (8/5): -
- Joel (1/5): -
- William (4/5): Economy is what you get - This hotel is next to a strip club. Either very convenient or very worrisome depending on what you are into. AC unit was so loud you couldn’t cary on a conversation in the room. Was great white noise to sleep to though…
- Wes (8/5): - The staff was very friendly
not much of a breakfast. didn't even have eggs. just sausage, biscuits, toast, and cereal.
- Andrew (8/5): - Perfectly fine one night hotel. Breakfast was a joke.
- Morris (1/5): - Nothing Mold in the tub, very this blankets and towels. There are no lamps on bedside tables. Breakfast was terrible. Also, it's right beside a Gentlemens Club. Outdated hotel
- Lizabeth (10/5): - Rooms were clean. Funky pillows lol. Loved that i could walk to Starbucks. Walmart was close by also.
- Brandy (6/5): - Needs to invest towels wash cloths . I needed extra when i asked they said they had no more did give me 2 washcloths. They looked like over 20 yrs old, stained , few areas of concern if it was cleaned.
Will not be back , i do not recommend.
I am grateful though i had a place to stay.
- Derrick (6/5): Convenient for end of the day rest - Lodging was great location for my activities, but the staff was not very friendly. Breakfast was very limited to selection and wasn’t restocked when it ran low.
- Roger (10/5): Great stay - It was great. Check in and out was very smooth, hotel has a great location and easy access to everything in Baton Rouge. House keeping does come are 830am if your on the bottom floor and if you're not ready for them they will come back around but you have to ask them to come back. For the breakfast bar youbhave to be there early for that when they have alot of guest but thats not the hotels fault.
Only cons to the stay were the pillows for the bed were the size of couch throw pillows so if you like a real pillow bring your own. And the towels are on the smaller side so for us larger people they just dont work as well as normal size towels.
Over all rating i still give 4.5 stars
- Bruce (9/5): Quiet, comfortable, pleasant, and close to everything I needed. - Location was perfect for USBC National Tournament in spite of the high traffic area near LSU. Would stay again. I hate to be a "Debbie Downer" but with such an excellent and comfortable room but the bathroom shower was a little lacking in the water pressure department. The pressure was not low enough to make me want to leave or not visit again but it was too low for my comfort. Other guests may enjoy it but I prefer a bit more pressure to knock off the day's grime, LOL. Not a deal breaker as I stated earlier. I would STILL reserve a room here if I needed to.
- Alexandra (3/5): Weird - First the front desk tried to charge us 3x the amount for our dog. Then our room smelled so musty and felt gross, when we told the front desk they came up, felt the carpet and told us “it’s not wet” we said okay but it smells musty and we were told it was the carpet powder, which if it really was the carpet powder they need a knew one. As the front desk person was walking away he told us if we still didn’t want to be in that room tomorrow we could move, we ended up staying in that room because we assumed all rooms smelled the same and we’ll just deal with it. The room was always hot and humid too so I believe something was wrong with the ac unit. The breakfast was trash, didn’t waste our time after seeing what they had the first day. We were also told we couldn’t walk around with our dog off property… we were going for a walk one night and the front desk guy came out telling us we had to stay… it was odd and we didn’t listen to him. Overall the stay was weird and I wouldn’t recommend this place.
- Gustavo (6/5): - The owner of the property an older Indian man, likes to go into the rooms when your not there. And he has special rooms where the sheets and towels aren't as clean if he deems you below him or dirty
- Jose (8/5): Weekend family trip. - Econo lodge, was a decent place to stay at. Facilities were clean, parking lot was well lit. Staff was very friendly and helpful when we needed anything. Ascfor breakfest at this location could really improve alot. Otherwise for the price i will stay again.
- Anglin (5/5): -
- Tammy (8/5): Tour LSU - Everything was great except for the pillows. Not big enough and too flat
- Robert (4/5): - Staff confused about reservation, breakfast reviled by other patrons, (i.e. biscuits, eggs, gravy without eggs or gravy). Bad towels. No staff at breakfast.
- Kurt (8/5): The property was clean and comfortable, but minimal. It was a good value for the price. It was just fine for my son and - It was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was pretty minimal, ended up going to IHOP.
- Eva (8/5): - I thought the 3 days I spent there were very good. Conveniently located to where I needed to be.
- Lara (9/5): -
