• Jason (6/5): - The hotel is historic and thus has some charm. The bed felt old. The shower head is also historic. Nice shower heads are $59 at Home Depot, so really no excuse to have an old shower head that makes for a less pleasant shower experience.

• 727anno (10/5): Boat Ride and Dinner! - We began our evening with a boat ride on the Mississippi. The Inn had prepared a delicious appetizer basket with Champagne and wine for us to share! When we returned to the Inn, we had an exceptional dinner. I would highly recommend this experience to all!

Muffins were cold like taken of freezer recently. Not real good to be honest. Bed was awesome. Overall I would stay here again.
• orrinb2023 (10/5): Hidden secret spot for great hamburgers. - We are regulars at Nicollet Island Inn. Always great food and friendly service. Sometimes we go to the bar and Brad will make us perfect rye old fashioneds. Then we split a hamburger with fries with a couple of beers. Cozy atmosphere and lively banter with Brad. The hamburgers are made from leftover beef tenderloin with Swiss cheese and thick sliced bacon. Probably one of the best we have ever had.
• 594lauriea (10/5): All Encompassing R & R with Top Notch Tranquility and Service - After eating in the restaurant and visiting the bar periodically over many years, I decided to stay overnight to get the full experience of this property. The overall ambiance is indescribable! EVERY staff person I encountered was friendly, welcoming, sincere, and compassionate. I was thrilled to see that the holiday decor remains on display throughout the month of January! The food NEVER disappoints here, and the servers/bartenders are the best in their profession, trust me...My beautiful corner room was LITERALLY warm and cozy (despite subzero temps outside), and it had such a "warm feeling" (decor-wise). Because the Inn was so quiet and my bed was so comfortable, I slept as well as I do at home - this was amazing and unprecedented for me! I especially enjoyed the DELICIOUS, classy, and complimentary coffee/continental breakfast service available at 6AM on each floor. I highly recommend selecting the brunch or other meal package to savor the peaceful view of the river in the wraparound dining room. The entire value of this experience exceeded my expectations. I'll definitely stay again and recommend Nicollet Island Inn to friends and family!

• K8098KWrichardc (10/5): The Crown Jewel of Sunday Brunch: Lobster Benedict. - We've been going to the Nicollet Inn for Sunday brunch for years. Recently we have mourned the fact that Nicollet Inn decided to drop its three course brunch in favor of individual entrees. That disclaimer aside when we went this last Sunday we were astonished at one of their entrees, specifically the Lobster/Steak Eggs Benedict. I chose to get the option that made the dish solely lobster (for an upcharge). It certainly didn't disappoint. The eggs were on a bed of hash browns and prepared perfectly. I had ordered a Bloody Mary with infused bacon vodka and that augmented the dish perfectly. I also want to put in a thanks to the incredibly attentive wait staff at Nicollet Inn. They strike the perfect balance of attentiveness that only a seasoned group of professions can give. As much as we miss the three course brunch, we'll be going back if nothing more than to sample the Lobster Benedict again.

During my recent 5-day stay, over Thanksgiving, Minneapolis fell into a cold spell....5 degrees! With such a sudden dip in temp, there were a lot of heat problems throughout. The staff could not have been more wonderful! Moving me twice, to find a room with sufficient heat and eventually putting me in a King Suite. These moves happened late at night. The staff was so kind and helpful! So thank you!

However, I found the continental breakfast quite underwhelming—just coffee, a few muffins, and a couple of apples, leaving much to be desired. For remote workers, this may not be the ideal spot, as the internet speed was painfully slow and unreliable. Additionally, the on-site restaurant was closed on both Monday and Tuesday during my stay, which was disappointing. While it has its charm, there are definitely areas for improvement.

• jackm581 (10/5): Great Historic Inn - Super comfortable bed with a ton of soft pillows, room was extra clean and spacious. We had a corner room with lots of windows. Lobby was clean, hostess was friendly and answered all our questions. We had a couple of hours to kill before our dinner reservation so we each had a glass of wine and these delicious deviled eggs as an appetizer. Bar area was decorated well. Later on we had dinner in the dining room, White linen table cloth and napkins... food was excellent, not the cheapest but well prepared and we thoroughly enjoyed our leisurely meal it their beautifully decorated dinning room. Our server was very attentive. We consumed the complimentary coffee, juice, yogurt and rolls on the front patio in the AM. The only negative would be they should have at least 2 side chairs and a small table to play cards on or...? We will be back.

The inside of the hotel shares the same rustic feeling on the main floor. Our room was clean overall but the tub and bathroom were kind of grungy. The room also lacked a fridge. The continental breakfast was fairly lackluster, though appreciated for something quick before checkout, with fruit, yogurt and muffins as your options. The staff overall was pleasant and there was plenty of parking.

Easy to walk to all that NorthEast has to offer, walks along St. Anthony Main and the falls, and quiet. Didn't eat at the restaurant this trip, but have in the past and that's a great experience as well. The brick roads, the film festivals, the nature in the city. Will totally stay here again.

• TLFrun (10/5): Beautiful location! - Had a wonderful one night stay at the historic Nicollet Island Inn. Beautiful location and very convenient to downtown Minneapolis, St. Anthony Main/Stone Arch Bridge area and the University of Minnesota. We had a king room that was clean, comfortable, quiet, and spacious. Complimentary coffee in the morning, but no refrigerator in room. Staff was super friendly. Plenty of free parking. When you book a room, you have the option to make reservations for the restaurant, but we opted to eat elsewhere. It is expensive to stay here, but we loved it and would definitely stay again!
• gbb4U (2/5): Shabby rundown and security issues - It seems no one is paying attention to how rundown the rooms have become. Chairs are so sprung and stained you can’t actually sit in them, desks that look like dogs have gnawed on them, shower curtains not hooked to their rings. An HVAC system that must be controlled by the front desk- cannot be controlled by the room (and doesn’t work well in either case). Rooms in the front have lights blasting in from the parking lot and the bridge- with no black out curtains. The rooms all need to be attended to- freshened, new furniture and a renewed commitment to the guest experience. I personally saw two occupied rooms wedged open with no housekeeping staff even on the same floor leaving the personal possessions at risk. The location is great, the outside of the building charming, but inside its a sad remnant of what it used to be.

The restaurant and bar are both very good as well. Great Minneapolis location. A unique place we will enjoy again in the future.

Purpose of travel was to go to Twins game and hotel located within an easy walk to Target Field. Hotel has a lot of charm as a historic building located in the middle of the Mississippi River and there is a nice path/walkway around the island. Plenty of restaurants nearby. Hotel restaurant was closed during out stay.
• allensN2463IW (10/5): A fun staycation in a charming historic hotel - We live in the metro area and wanted a nice staycation that included dinner and a night at a nice hotel for this our first anniversary. The beauty of this historic hotel was everything we had hoped it would be. The staff, waiter and bar tender were all very friendly. The only issue we had was our room was a little warm at night, but we were told to call the front desk when we checked it in the room temperature wasn't satisfactory, which we didn't do, so that was on us. The surrounding area was a delight for our evening walk together and we enjoyed a nice café experience on the city side of the river in the morning. The entire experience was what we expected and we'd recommend it for other couples.

It was worth every penny! Jenny, the manager, was very accommodating, handling a few special requests and helping to orchestrate a special presentation after dinner. The Inn itself and the room were delightful, with lovely views of the river and island, and antique furniture to give it a real 19th century ambiance. The mattress was a bit firm for our tastes, but probably perfect for others, and as you might expect with a 130 year old property there were signs of the building’s age, like uneven floors, but that only added to the charm. Best of all, it was very quiet and peaceful. The staff in the bar and dining room gave exquisite service. You could tell that many had been there for a long time and loved their jobs. The service was absolutely first class, and the food matched it. I had no idea that the restaurant was so good! It is truly a hidden gem! The restaurant manager assisted in presenting our anniversary rings, a surprise for my wife, and the hostess graciously videoed the whole thing to we can relive the moment for years to come. I think we have found a new anniversary tradition!
• ValueReignsSupreme (10/5): Weekend Get Away - Wow - what a great experience. My wife and I booked a weekend package that included dinner, brunch and a stay in a premium king room. Our server for both meals was Julia and she was excellent. Corey was in the dining room for both meals and ensured our experience was top notch. He really went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The vibe in the whole place is classy, but very relaxed. There's nothing 'stuffy' about it. The room was nice and was very quiet. Thank you to the whole staff that made our stay special.

Everyone on the staff was fantastic, helpful and polite. Room was clean, bedding was out of this world. Location was in a nice, quiet area. An older building, so don’t expect glitz and glamor. But if you want the feel of a nice, quaint hotel, then this is up your alley. There’s parking, which can’t be said of a lot of other city hotels. Best night of sleep I’ve had in a long time. The only issue I had was the Wi-Fi didn’t work for me, but I didn’t need it because I was gone for most of the evening. The price point worked for me and I want to come back here. This place put me in a great mood and I was able to keep it for my drive home. Thank you so much.

And they smelled awesome as well. The only complaint on the property is that the pillows are a little hard.

• Marsh (10/5): - A very quiet and classy old school hotel -- décor, furniture, carpeting, halls, walls, decorating, and front desk area felt comforting and welcoming. Same with the bar and restaurant - the bartender, I swear, had a vest and his name was probably Jeeves. The hotel, remarkably in the middle of the city, on an island in the Mississippi between Northeast and the city skyline, feels like a country house - flowers, the river flowing on both sides, trees and vines, several dining and night spots just across the little bridge and up the hill. Something out of the past.

• Katelyn (10/5): My favorite Twin Cities Hotel - This was our 4th stay at the Nicollet Island Inn. It is the perfect place to stay for a romantic evening. The hotel restaurant is great and there are pleanty of places to walk to within blocks of the hotel.

• CaSondra (8/5): Historical with Fabulous Service and Great Eats - The service here is fabulous. The housekeeping is okay but could use a few tweaks to be better. There were dust bunnies in the corners, and the bed was made on the sloppy side, sheets not tucked in all the way and the comforter twisted and rumpled between the footboard and the mattress. The room and bed were quite comfortable though. The room was nicely decorated, giving it a historical and boutique feel that was fitting for the history of the building. The bathroom was in need of updating but not so bad it was uncomfortable to use, and the windows needed replacing (There looked to be close to the originals if not the originals. The restaurant is pricey but outstanding and worth trying. The wifi would kick me offline every 30 minutes or so, so that was the most frustrating thing, but I was in and out so much that I didn't ask about it. While the hotel could use some updating and more attention to detail when cleaning, I would stay here again. The city is giving new life to the area, and there is a nice park to walk along the river.

• denise (8/5): Needs some updating - We’ve loved staying here in the past, for it’s charm and location on the river, convenient to downtown. Paid a bit more this time for a “river view” room, but found it to be more of a “parking lot view.” Lighting is dim - even bedside lamps required holding the page right under the lamp for our senior (but not abnormal) eyes to read. Bed & linens OK, nothing special. Only 1 luggage rack in room. Bathroom light switch missing its cover. Shower plenty hot, but pressure a tad low, and shower door was awkward for access to shower faucet. Staff pleasant. They couldn’t find the 2d key for our room. Dining room pleasant but overpriced for pretty ordinary food. We probably won’t stay here again as it’s not great value for the price.

It’s an older inn so some things need attention in the rooms, but we brought them to manager’s attention with no problem. They want to make things right. Highly recommend it if you enjoy this type of place!
