- Oli1980 (8/5): Stillvolles Hotel an super Lage - perfekt für einen Kurzaufenthalt - Sehr freundliches und zuvorkommendes Personal, top Lage (5 Min. zu Fuss vom Bahnhof), bequemes Bett und ausreichend ausgestattete Zimmer; für geschäftliche Reisen ideal. Diverse, gute Restaurants sind zudem rund um das Hotel in wenigen Schritten zu erreichen. Etwas mehr Tageslicht im Zimmer wäre schön gewesen, lässt sich aber leider nicht ändern.

- Christina (4/5): - Die Lage ist super und das Hotel ist von Aussen charmant. Der Raum war sehr sauber. Das Personal ist freundlich. Die Matratze des Einzelbetts war schrecklich; völlig durchgelegen, die Rückenschmerzen am nächsten Morgen waren entsprechend. Der Spiegel ist zwar cool aber das hell leuchtende An/Abknopf mitten im Siegel hat sehr gestört zum Einschlafen (da bin ich vielleicht sensibel aber ich brauche einen abgedunkelten Raum). Das Frühstück war für fast 20 Chf enttäuschend; ging bis 10:30 aber als ich um 09:45 eintraf, gab es keine Croissants, fast keine Weggli. Es gab kein Rührei und kein Lachs. Allgemein war die Auswahl eher klein, zumindest ein Croissant mit dem Café wäre schön gewesen.

Avendo poco tempo, ho fatto come il 95% degli avventori professionali la prenotazione su Booking, il quale era segnata la 1°colazione (a CHF 10.- PP) poi vedo che non me la lasciava aggiungere... chiamo l'hotel, mi dicono che posso prenotarla direttamente il sede, che con il "loro sistema" non si può aggiungere. Genuinamente all'arrivo chiedo per le colazioni (mia e del collega) mi dice OK, allora le confermo. Al check-out, mi vedo venir fatturato CHF 18.50 PP al giorno la colazione.... ammetto di essere rimasto basito in negativo... perché é quasi il doppio... ho chiesto spiegazioni, mi dice che se prenotavo via telefono o tramite il loro sito l'avrei pagata CHF 10.- se su booking loro applicano CHF 18.50... Attenzione NON ne faccio una questione di soldi ci mancherebbe... MA DI MANCANZA DI TRASPARENZA, MANCANZA DI SERIETÀ! Vivo in Ticino, non conosco Zofingen, NON conosco tanto meno l'Hotel Engel... mi era stato consigliato per vicinanza logistica al mio impegno di lavoro.... Dunque NON ho il tempo di cercare, mi affido ad un portale che utilizzo sempre per le mie trasferte professionali (Booking)... e questa mancanza di trasparenza, ammetto che mi ha irritato parecchio. Se alla proprietà di Hotel Engel, secca dover pagare una commissione a Booking, rifacendosi sugli avventori dell'hotel sul servizio colazione... mi lascia un pò perplesso.... o si allinea alla lista del proprio prezzo o si tolga da Booking. NB. lavoro nel commercio, se una persona acquista da me fisicamente, on-line... il prezzo non cambia... sarebbe bello trovare la stessa cortesia e professionalità commerciale

- Juan (7/5): MEJOR IR EN TREN - Buena ubicacion centrico y cerca de la estacion. No hay personal 24 horas de presencia fisica en el hotel, aunque no tuvimos ningun problema. Desayuno correcto, buffet libre sin platos calientes ni posibilidad de tostar pan, excepto huevos duros. Bastante repetitivo. Sin embargo el desayuno es muy probable que sea la mejor alternativa en Zofingen a nivel calidad /precio. Nos alojamos en una habitacion para tres y fue adecuada, comoda y correcta. El aparcamiento en toda la ciudad de Zofingen es todo de pago y has de pagar cada dos horas!!!! Menos mal que familiares del pueblo nos indicaron donde dejarlos al lado de su casa a mas de veinte minutos andando. No hay nevera en la habitacion ni aire acondicionado en la habitacion. Pasamos calor alguna noche.

We did that ourselves as there was no one else available. The second room had only one bed that could not be separated into two. I don't know why two twin beds is so hard to understand.

- Ali (2/5): - A deeply disappointing experience—not only with the hotel, but also with Hotels.com. I was traveling across three countries in Europe with my parents, wife, and infant over two weeks, and had no issues with any accommodations—except this one. I had booked a Quadruple Room through the Hotels.com app, which showed availability at the time of booking. However, upon arrival at the hotel around 1 a.m., I was told there was no record of my reservation. Shortly after, I was informed that the room I had booked was not available. To make matters worse, the hotel had no staff on-site past 8 p.m., so all communication was through an intercom system—an extremely frustrating experience, especially at that hour with family and a baby in tow. Eventually, the hotel provided a room with one double bed and one single bed—forcing me to sleep on the floor so my family could rest more comfortably. I had also paid an additional fee of approximately $144 for a fourth guest, only to end up without a proper place to sleep. While the hotel initially assured me that a refund would be issued, they later refused. At this point, it's not even about the refund—it's about the complete failure in service. Paying extra to sleep on the floor is simply unacceptable. This situation also highlights a serious flaw in Hotels.com’s system. If the app displays availability for a room type that doesn’t exist, that is a critical issue that needs immediate attention. I strongly advise against booking this property.
- Christina (8/5): - The hotel room was nice but had a few things requiring improvement. No hook anywhere in the bathroom or a shelf to Place any kind of clothing. Very small pillows on the beds. No breakfast served before 8 am yet the card required to park on the street nearby expires at 8 am. Receptionist very friendly and professional, actually undeserving for this hotel who seems less concentrated of the comfort for the customer but more interested what suits them. I will again return to a hotel near Zofingen that offers private parking and the few amenities I am asking for

- Balazs (10/5): Hotel Engel is always our go-to place in Zofingen - The hotel staff went out of their way to guarantee us as much comfort as possible. They even asked us beforehand if we wanted to have breakfast which then was served promptly during our stay. The room was very large and comfortable. I actually slept so well that in the morning, I first thought that I‘m at home. The warm water could have been a little warmer, but this is complaining on a higher level as I always take extremely hot showers.

The rooms are clean and well equipped. The lady at the reception is really attentive and kind. The cleaning service is excellent, the only thing that could be improved is if they could keep it less noisy early in the morning

However I was surprised at how unhelpful the member of staff on for breakfast was. A few people found the hot beverage system complicated and the staff member just watched people struggle while other guests were trying to help. I have never experienced anything quite like that before.

- Paula (8/5): Great location, clean and functional but impersonal. - Great location Spotlessly clean Close to parking facilities No staff to check you in or assist after 8pm weekdays. We arrived late due to traffic delays en route and we’re given self check in instructions. While efficient, this is impersonal and not particularly welcoming for a hotel of this standard and price. We saw one friendly staff member during our stay who was expected to run the breakfast room and reception same time. We were also told that we had been allocated a room on the third floor with Mountain View but on arrival had been switched to the second floor with a view of the street, with no explanation as to why, and no staff on site available to query the change.
