- Vernessa_B (6/5): Was good but would not stay again because of the sudden increase of price when arrive - Server was good and kind. Place was comfortable. Sea view was nice from the Porch. Was relaxing. Breakfast was good. Location across from the beach was very convenient. The price we booked from booking.com was $622 and was told when I arrived I had to pay $100 extra. When I asked the worker, she could not give a good reason. And owner did not even acknowledge us. Also the Place had a bad smell and it need some renovation. The Television was not working.
- Victoria (6/5): Sea view was relaxing great staff but the place needs a bit of an upgrade - Location Needs an upgrade

- Teun (8/5): - Locatie, personeel, prima prijs

- Ariel (10/5): - We stayed on the 23rd and then again on the 27th. Everything was perfect. Felt like home with a beautiful view of the sea. Expect comfy, cosy and welcoming. Highly recommend the pork ribs and the fish broth.
- Roy (3/5): - The location and views are fantastic! The property needs to be updated and remodeled to justify the room rates they are charging. At present, I would not consider it a good value.
- Ariel (8/5): - Loved the location and Mintra was very pleasant and gave us a free upgrade. We didn't have electricity for quite some time and as such the restaurant food was not available but we understand it was not their fault.
- Gómez (9/5): -
- Joel (8/5): In sum, I really enjoyed my stay and the host was super friendly and accommodating. He was very attentive to all of my - Proximity to the beach was perfect. I just had to cross the street and I was on the beach in addition I could hear the waves from my room. Menu needed to include more local foods.
- Dale (6/5): - Food prices were very high. The plumbing was not optimal with leaks. Room facilities could have been better. It needs upgrading. The location, scenery and dining area was really nice.
- Amber (10/5): - Me and my boyfriend had a wonderful stay. The view was amazing and the staff was wonderful. Food was top tier and the whole vibe overall was great would definitely book again 😍
- Rhea (8/5): - It was very quiet and relaxing. Home away from home.
- Lawrence (10/5): - Location
- Dwan (2/5): Don’t bother staying here - Horrible checked out 2 days early. Bed bugs, no hot water, bathroom sink leaks holes in bathroom walls you just as well sleep outside with mosquitos very outdated pace should be condemned.only good thing is the beach. Not ADA accessible. Owner and his wife are shady.
- katelyn (10/5): - Another good experience. It was my second time going to the beach lodge. Highly enjoyed the view of the beach, the food was very good. 10/10 chef. The staff were very kind to us. We accidentally showed up after hours and there was no hassle. We dealt with the payment the next morning because we checked in too late. We had steak and bake and shark (for lunch on one day and for breakfast the next). It was to die for.
You have to walk alot in this area or else you probably wont get to the beach. The lodge has a steep slope for a parkinglot so its a little intimidating, and the stairs are a little steep too but very worth it (if you want to get your steps in for the day)
The rooms were clean. The toilet was a little finicky but nothing we couldnt handle 😁
Would definately go again!
10/10 drinks, bar tender did not go easy on the alcohol for me and my boyfriend. So we had a lot of fun!
Love it so much.
10/10 experience
- Verified traveler (8/5): nice stay with nice staff - the staff was very friendly the view from the hotel was incredible and it was super close to the beach! only down side was towels weren’t included!
- Shunda (8/5): Relaxing location - It was comfortable and quiet which is what I was looking for. Meals were made to order so I didn’t have to look elsewhere for food. The beach was just across the street opposite the facility
- katelyn (10/5): - It was a good stay, the bathroom was a bit messy, i couldve hurt my toe in the shower. Thank god i noticed the drain was exposed first.
But other then the bathroom, everything was perfect.
- Shivanan (2/5): - Proximity to Las Cuevas beach is ideal. I didn't like the disrespect owner gave to their guests and overcharging booking prices. I will never go back there, or recommend anyone to go.
- Rajesh (4/5): Disappointing - Disappointed. Had to pay more for the booking upon arrival as management said that they’re not associated with hotels.com even though the booking was made on the site (doesn’t make sense).
Was given a dirty room at first then after complaining I moved to another room. Sink was crazy, as soon as you turn on the faucet you’re getting soaked as water sprayed all over. Had to request another tv as the tv in the room was not working. No microwave and kitchenette as advertised. Had to request a microwave.
Overall disappointed with my stay.
- nadera (6/5): - Good access to beach.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Worse hotel i ever stayed in. - First if all they had no idea whT tgeyvwere doing, i was placed in a room with no bedsheets , toiletries etc. Then 20 mins later moved to another room which had bedheets, no towels, no running water at night, tv not working, misquitoes in abundance in the room. I paid for 3 nights stayed 1, they never returned rest of money. This is not a resort, i would call it last resort.
I have travelled the world but this is the worst ever. What on the website puctures it's not what you get.
- David (4/5): Disappointing room - Budget room was disappointing. Supper was tasty. Breakfast, no choice so scrambled egg and toast.
Upgrade yourself to a seaview view may improve your chances.
- shurilan (6/5): - it is a good location very close by the beach and nice sea view
the staff is accommodating and friendly but the place could be more clean and the restaurant and breakfast could be improved and upgraded
- Will (4/5): Needs improving - The beds in the room weren’t as advertised , choices on the menu were limited , very slow service , no service in the morning to get the breakfast that was part of the deal .
- ROSE MARIE (10/5): - We loved our stay at the Las Cuevas Beach Lodge. Huge room with fantastic views, very friendly helpful staff and an amazing beach directly across the road.
As long as you don’t expect five star facilities when only paying their very affordable rates, I think you would also enjoy staying here. Some of the facilities are basic but we were comfortable and enjoyed the bar/restaurant. I would highly recommend spending some time here.
- Racquel (6/5): - The property was recently taken over by new management. Theyve done a lot in the short time place has great potential.
Value for prices paid
- Dale (8/5): - The staff was very helpful and courteous. The overlooking view of the beach was magnificent. I went into the water after midnight and there was a large amount of bioluminescence present to the point that it looked like your hands were on fire with light blue flames. It was surreal.
- Cuthbert (8/5): - Nice location.
- Keston (8/5): - This is the second time in two weeks my wife and i have stayed here. For someone on a budget like us this is as good as it gets. The staff were accommodating and very pleasant. The menu options hit just right with oprions on both ends of the price spectrum so you can have steak and lobster or a ham sandwich with fries. The alcohol is priced perfectly for any drinker. To find faults you really have to nit pick or have unrealistic expectations.
Obviously its working process and somethings need to be upgraded or changed but comverations with the staff or owners and they are more than willing to help if able where discomforts occur.
For its price, location, food options and staff i will be definitely be returning and would recommend to anyone to stay here.
- Leah (6/5): - The staff were very nice and helpful, however, the lodge needs a lot of renovations. In addition, we booked a room with wifi, but was told that the room was unable to pick up the wifi connection. The property is located right across from the beach, and is a clean and convenient option for a place to stay, however, the place needs a drastic upgrade.
- Jassodra (8/5): - The location which is opposite to the beach is the best part of this hotel. Parking was safe and easy. The staff was accommodating. The breakfast was reasonable and all in all it was a good stay for the Easter to enjoy Las Cuevas Beach! I would recommend staying here for the convenience to the beach but keep in mind that the furniture and general property are dated. It is a budget place, but they are trying to keep the standard high by providing acceptable services for the cost.
- Balmatie (8/5): Las Cuevas Lodge - Las Cuevas Lodge. Its in a beautiful location, cery vlose to the beach. Very economical and excellent value. It has some limitations, but all round service was good.
- PAUL (10/5): - If you’re expecting 4* luxury, this is not for you. If you are looking for peace and beauty in a charming location then come. It is an hours drive from Port of Spain and one and a half from the airport. The road is windey and there are potholes in places. It is worth every moment. The place is up on the right up a very steep gradient. To be honest, I wasn’t sure that we had arrived as a late flight meant that it was of arrival by darkness. We were greeted, shown to our room, and we joined the one other guest and the family out on the wide and airy terrace. The best description would probably be comfortably rustic. The room had everything that you needed and a very modern and efficient air-conditioner. There was no soap but that may have been an oversight. It was like arriving in the family home with your handed your towels when you arrive. The beds were perfectly comfortable and we slept like logs. If I had one criticism it was that they kept pushing the menus at us from about 6 o’clock onwards. Nevertheless what came up on our plates was absolutely delicious. The fish is caught locally and was beautifully cooked. Strangely enough the wine selection while small provided a very good bottle of Covid.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great experience would definitely recommend to anyone going on vacation.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The surrounding of the property was okay. The beach is walking distance and it had other beaches that is driving distance that you can visit. We were told we would get towels and we recieved not. Thank God I walked with my own. There is no bathroom mats on the floor and when you take a shower the water wets outside of the bathroom. The TV is hard to operate the only thing we got working was You Tube. But other than that we had no problem with the room. The portion of food you get for cost was not worth it and they have to work on presentation and taste. Some of the staff approaches you like they not to happy about there place of work. They need to work on cleanest of there surrounding. They need to have more options for breakfast. They served you toast but no butter. My husband asked for salt but he had finished his egg and he still did not get the salt. The staff needs to pay more attention to there guest and have a little more understanding in the cost of the food and how it is served. Wifi worked great. We had no problem with the place otherwise.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Steps away from the best beach in Trinidad! Rooms 101 and 102 have a huge covered balcony overlooking the beach. A friendly off the beaten path inexpensive nice place to stay!
- marian (6/5): - not bad , nice surroundings nice beach.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - We arrived at 6:55 pm and the owner or owner’s wife was sleeping. She came downstairs and handed us 2 dirty towels and asked why we were late. Didn’t show us to the room, just pointed in general direction. She informed us that the kitchen was closed even though the advertised time open till 10:30pm. The room was dimly lit. No WiFi given. There are dead bugs in the bathroom, light bulb busted, and can not working. The sheets were dirty. We left the next day. I was covered in bites; dust mites, fleas, not really sure. The owner (female) was very rude. Woke us at 6am to talk about the call I had made into Expedia to complain. We should be getting a refund for unused nights, but have not seen it yet.
The food was poor quality next morning as well. Pics to prove conditions if needed.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Everything was not what we expected if we had a choice we would have left and stayed somewhere else..the pictures of the room we selected on your site was not what we got will not be staying there again
- Visitor (10/5): - Excellent for the prices charged. Food is exceptional
- Verified traveler (4/5): - It was a group of friends so we rented 3 rooms. 1 couple booked online before hand. When we reached there, the manager told them they had to pay taxes because Expedia didnt cover taxes. Bad service from the manager and the staff and poor attitude. 1 of the rooms had a heavy paint scent as it was freshly painted. Food was tasteless at the restaurant, hotel staff were not knowledgeable. The rooms were fairly clean and there was a fridge in our room. I probably will not return due to awful customer service and i will not recommend.
- Nadia (8/5): Great view - It was beautiful as always
- Shunda (8/5): Nice and comfortable place - Quiet and close to beach
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The view was the only thing to like.very disappointed
- Nadia (10/5): Enjoyable - Short but sweet and Enjoyable
- Ana (8/5): - the property has beautiful views. You can enjoy your meal at the restaurant looking at the bay.
- Tim (10/5): - Cozy place, great view, amazing cooking, fantastic staff, good price! What more do you really need? Jasmine and myself had a wonderful time for our three night stay. A huge thanks to all!!
- Mary (6/5): - Service was poor and very unprofessional. I had booked the place online using my credit card then when I got there I was asked to fill out a form and at the end I was asked "cash" or "links". I was very confused then I was told that they didnt complete the transaction. So you telling me nobody couldnt call the customer and inform them of such??! If I didnt have cash or card what would have been my predicament?
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Location, view and cuisine were perfect. Heavy construction is ongoing with little care for customers. But had a great two days.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very friendly staff. Excellent location opposite the beach!
- Jon (6/5): - We booked what I think was the cheapest room, it was not very clean, there was a strong smell in it (like toilet blue tab that we couldn't find).
The terrace of the restaurant is great with a beautiful view, the food is ok.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The budget room is like a troll's room located under the stairs. It looks exactly like the photo on the website but somehome it was worse. It is a little run down and very tiny. A slighty overweight person may not beable to enter the bathroom since the size of the room limits how wide the bathroom door can open. But I guess given the price, we could not expect too much. The restaurant was not open for dinner, which was disappointing given that it is so far out from the nearest restaurant.
The breakfast was a nice local breakfast. I enjoyed it.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Location was great. Service was lousy. Next room over stayed talking loudly till after 2:30AM. Might have been the owner, I'm not sure. Paid too much for 3 hours of sleep.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Beautiful view. Great location.
Needs upgrade and additional staffing
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The views were amazing from the restaurant's deck. I wish the bedrooms had the same views. The service and staff were great. The rooms could use upgrading.
- Cletus (10/5): Fantastic beach - Beautiful view of a very nice beach, probably 1 of the top 3 beaches I have seen in my life. If you are looking for an authentic breakfast and some conversation with the owner, it is excellent. The only negative is the area has no additional restaurants or bars within 5 miles
- Margaret (4/5): - close to the beach, the lodge was a little rustic.
- Nikita (8/5): - Affordable accomodation with friendly staff. Geeta and Teeluck made sure my family and i was well taken care of, with the room comfort and the requested food. Will definitely recommend and re visit.
- Amzad (8/5): great views, good location - the best asset of this hotel is the location. it is a few steps away from beautiful las cuevas beach and the view from every room is beautiful, including spectacular sunsets. staff is friendly ,rooms are simple and comfortable
- Shunda (8/5): Wonderful - It was great! Peaceful and quiet with the beach across the street
- Verified traveler (6/5): - This is a nice hotel. The room was very comfortable. Ac and hot water was working perfect confortable bed. 2 things though. 1. The room was still wet from mopping when we checked in, and it was a rainy day. So when we walked on the floor it dirtied the room. 2. There was only one staff working in the kitchen at night so it was difficult for her prepare everything in a timely manner. Which We understood so we tried to make easy choices for her to prepare. The only bad take away I really have though, at breakfast one of the assistants came out to take our order but only advised us of one meal option. Which was something my husband and cousin won’t eat. So they asked for a menu to order from. Only to realize when the chef came out he gave us other options. It was disappointing to know that this waitress insisted on only this option and said there was nothing else that comes with the breakfast option. Other than that it was a great experience. Beautiful view.
