Guest Reviews
- Christopher (2/5): - We did not wind up staying. Have the key back and asked for refund from Expedia.
When we got there the did not know of re
- Kristina (6/5): - Convenient to sheetz.
- Sherika (4/5): - Very bad but not that bad and house keeping is a mess because they kept knocking on my door and rushing me and check out was at 12 and they came a hour early telling me to leave and my room got broken into and I got rob for id like three and my underwear as well smh
- Benjamin (2/5): - very low budget motel. everything else was sold out
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The gentleman who checked us in was very friendly. The room itself was not the cleanest. The sheets were covered with multiple stains and we ended up not sleeping under the covers. The room had multiple mirrors that were broken as well. Just not very clean.
- Christopher (2/5): Undesirable - Room was dirty. Ants on the bathroom vanity and the floor. Comforter and sheets had burn holes from cigarettes, not to mention the room smelled like a dirty ashtray. Only 1 of the 3 lightbulbs in the recessed lighting worked, which other than the bathroom light were the only lights. Broken mirror behind the headboard of the bed...Found out this is a favorite place for affairs and prostitution.
- ERIC (4/5): - Room was very dirty and out dated. Hot tub would not drain. Would not stay there again
- Julie (6/5): - Location was great, clean, comfortable ok, not updated, shampoo offered not good. Better when its shampoo and separate conditioner. No hairdryer.
- Amy (4/5): - It was a little dirty needed to be open dated didn't ask for the room with the heart shaped hot tub but was given that room so we used it and the water didn't drain out tv sounds keep kicking off . Good area other then that
- Stephen (8/5): - It was fine for the price. Little outdated but had everything I needed.
- Joel J (2/5): - When I arrived at the property, I was told that they could NOT accommodate me. Desk clerk told me that he had notified Expedia at noon, Oct.9. explaining that my room had been destroyed by the previous occupant. I WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THIS!!
Could not find another room in Altoona. Ended up cancelling my plans for the evening and driving back home, (2 hour drive.)
Someone dropped the ball and it will affect which company I deal with in the future.
Thanks for nothing.
- Eva (2/5): - Couldn’t give review on property. They canceled reservation thru Expedia. Expedia didn’t inform us of this. Plumbing issues with our room.
- Tammy (2/5): - I had a reservation through hotels.com I called let them know what time I would be arriving and they had given my hotel room away and I had nowhere to stay and had to sleep in my car because of the location everything was booked I asked to speak to the manager I was told he was out of town and I asked why I didn't have my reservation and they told me it wasn't their problem and if I wanted I could call back and talk to him on Monday very disgusted would not recommend ever booking through them
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Extremely filthy!! Never went to a room as front desk was horribly rude. While I was at the front desk seeking refund for the $9.00 Expedia withdrew from my bank account, the clerk took a call from a CRYING person (was on speaker phone, I heard the customer feeling so distraught saying this was the 2nd time she had to call for help about her accommodations), that had rented a room and was reporting the shower knob fell off in her hand. The clerk YELLED at the customer, "That's your problem, sorry about your bad luck, not our fault so tough luck for you!" There were broken out windows with tape on them, a lady mostly naked rummaging in a trash can and a man sitting in a chair by a door, spitting and looking like he was vomiting! My 13 year old grand-daughter had tears in her eyes as she BEGGED me not to make us stay there as she was feeling very scared and unsafe. PLEASE never list nor provide this unsafe, unhealthy and scary place risking Expedia's reputation as a booking service again and I would very much appreciate a full refund of the $9.00 withdrawn from my bank account. I have NEVER felt so disgusted and alarmed at any place on Earth as I felt upon entering the parking lot of this do drop in drug house appearing motel, very honestly sincere impression of this nasty nasty place.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Booked a room and was turned away because they had "no more rooms". I booked a day prior to showing up and was told that my reservation was all set to go. Not once did they call me to let me know that there weren't any rooms. Plus they tried to charge my card for the first night even though I didn't even stay there.
- William (2/5): - After booking and confirming this room,my guests were told upon arrival that the room had been booked already and they had already contacted Expedia telling them the booking was cancelled.Neither the hotel or Expedia contacted me of this cancellation and left me in a bad spot to try to book a room elsewhere. Thanks for ruining my weekend and embarrassing me and my guests.Never again will I trust Expedia.
- Unhappy (4/5): - A carpet was dirty, The floor of the shower dirty, washcloth look like on old cleaning rag don't you roaches it was in the room. Need new mattress don't drop anything in the sink because you won't get it back..
- Ashlee (2/5): - Loudd
- David (6/5): Average at best - You get what you pay for.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Everything was dirty / stained.. Fingerprints on the ceiling, stains on the sheets and towels.. ended up buying cheap throw blankets and pillows from a Walmart and sleeping on them.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Meth Neighbors - If you don't mind having meth neighbors ... You probably won't mind staying here!
- Richard (2/5): - Very dirty carpet, walls and ceiling. The mirror had something running down it. The beds were supposed to be queen size but were full size. There were cigarette burn holes burnt into the sheets as well as stains.
- Dawn (4/5): nopity nope nope nope! - I honestly took one look around the place and didn’t even bother to check in. All I saw was a bunch of people with no teeth and what appeared to be a lot of drug activity. No thanks!
- Verified traveler (4/5): - We got a good night's sleep. But the cold water faucet came off in my hand when I tried to take a shower.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - People in the room were fighting no stop while I was there
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Location was quiet and convenient, but outdated. Stale smoke odor in room was bad, but I had not requested non smoking accomodations.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - 1.) Two nights, 2 cold showers. I kept turning the knob and waiting for the water to turn hot or at least warm. No such luck.
2.) I could not regulate the temperature on the air conditioner. It seem to be set at 61 degrees.
3.) I don't smoke. The room reeked of cigarette smoke. When I got home, my wife asked me if I took up smoking because my clothes reeked of it.
4.) The lighting is very poor. There were no bright lights as depicted in the advertisement picture.
5.) No little night stand with a light on it by the bed as depicted in the advertisement picture.
- Wee han teoh (2/5): Awful smell and dark room with smelly carpet. - The motel is really awful and dirty. The room was really dark and the room carpet was wet with some bad rotten smell.... Please do not book this motel. I would rather sleep in my car if no other choices.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Interesting natural environment. You feel far away from corporate rush, relaxed in a "woodsy" atmosphere--yet you are just forty yards from a main road and all the amenities you'd need. A gasoline station is across the road and a convenience market is within walking distance.
No negatives! Caring staff.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It is very "70's", but not as bad as the reviews stated.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Bed was super uncomfortable the tub and sink both had ants very badly... Would never stay there aagin... Total disappointment
- BAYER (2/5): - the frige didn't work and the tv ~!!!! fIRST THEY wanted to give a room with the bolt lock didn't work as I told thjem that I am staying in that room they changed and gave a different room but no toilet paper, I HAD TO COME BACK TO the office 5-6 times till they gave me a roll but ignored the 2 issues of the fridge and TV
- Andrew (10/5): - Great place. We love going here. Cheap and clean rooms!
- Verified traveler (2/5): - You’d have to be pretty desperate to spend a night at this place. Although the check in clerk was super friendly he informed us that the reservation of 2 single rooms could not be honored as the heat had broken down in one of the rooms. We had to share a room (and bed) as a result. The infrastructure was run down. Room was very old and smelly. Place seemed really dirty. Hot water shower was the only plus we could think of.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Bedbugs. Most uncomfortable pillows ever. TV had no sound. No internet as advertised. Spend the extra 10-20 bucks somewhere else.
- thomas (6/5): pa trip - njce quet area with pretty good access to restaurants etc
- Verified traveler (6/5): You get what you pay for. - The price is excellent, great deal. The hotel is old and could do with an upgrade. Another guest described it as a dump. The room smelled we had to get an air refresher.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Very old facilty. No upgrades. Noise (beeping sound) constantly going off all night.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Property was rundown and rooms smelled. Faucet broken. First room was filled with trash and muddy shower. Gave me a clean room, but still had bad aroma.
- Boyd (2/5): Just don't do it - Arrived late at night. Had warned the motel we would.
Were 'greeted' by a very unpleasant sleepy man.
Went to our room. Appeared old and generally dirty. But acceptable considering the price.
The following morning when we could fresh blood stains in the bed we did a closer examination. To find bedbugs, ticks, and small cockroaches everywhere.
As well as yellow stains on the comforter.
This place is just nasty.
- Rhonda (4/5): Bates Motel replica - The ad for the type of beds and the amenities is not correct. I actually argued with them and stated I would be happy to measure the beds to prove they are not the sizes as advertised. We had to pay for an additional room (1/2 price). The listing mentions a fridge/micro but did not have both items. They carried a micro from another room so we could feed the baby. Did not have access to internet/Wi-Fi and the cable was poor, broken coaxial cable slipped right out of the back of the box TV. Good thing we didn't need to stay too long or have much of a desire to watch TV. If you are just staying overnight because you are passing through and need a place to lay your head, it's fine. The lady for housekeeping stayed onsite and was very pleasant and accommodating.
- Crystal (4/5): - Not a good trip at all no one at the desk when you needed them and you didnt know where housekeeping was located
- Verified traveler (2/5): - I never stayed their the exterior was so unpleasant. There were fireworks being shot off in the parking lot.
I rang a bell and no one came to check me in or help me.
Finally I was charged when I never stayed there. The website wasn’t supposed to have my credit card number. This is poor business practice.
- Traci (2/5): Awful! Don't do it! - I can not tell anything about the inside of the rooms. I pulled into the parking area and pulled right back out. It looked like something from a SYFY network movie about a haunted swamp. I expected the Swamp Monster to appear out of nowhere. Norman Bates wouldn't have stayed here. HORRENDOUS!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - dated, stank like cat pee
- asubtbhm (4/5): - this place is only good for 1 night in a emergency. It is a basic, and I mean basic, place with a uncomfortable bed and flat pillows. Room is tacky with mirrors on ceiling and wall. Not my thing at all. you do get a micro and refrigerator. They are plugged into a power strip and not safe. A fire hazard. When I plugged in my power strip in another outlet to charge my phones , the outlet sparked. I don't recommend this place to anyone unless they like this atmosphere.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Couldn’t pay me to stay here. We ate the cost and went somewhere else immediately.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Room in picture looks much more inviting than the room we were given!
Also heavy cigarette odor...
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Had bed bugs... now covered in bites and on meds
- Amber (8/5): An enjoyable overnight stay on a long trip - Very friendly staff, clean room. The room is small, but for the price, it’s exactly what you’d expect. The bed was sooooo comfy! Very quiet place with the necessities for an overnight stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great price for the room that guy that was working there I should have gotten his name he was outstanding you should give him a raise
- Verified traveler (2/5): Lots of drinking and drugs there. can smell it on - Got there and they gave my room away. HAd a reservation and confirmation number and that didnt matter. Guests smelled like beer and drugs. was nasty. Hotel was seeling drugs in the office as i was standing there. Office had a horrible smell as well. gae my room away to otehr people coming in after me paying triple in cash. didnt care that i had a credit paid reservation. figting to get my money back when i didnt even stay there. place was trashy ans horrible.
