anais (8/5): Très bon rapport qualité prix - Très bien placé pour visiter la médina, quartier sympa et bien éclairé le soir. Chambre très calme la nuit car le logement est au fond d'une impasse. Aziz nous a très bien accueilli, il se souciait toujours qu'il nous manquait rien, il nous a même fourni un petit déjeuner à emporter le jour de notre départ où nous avions un taxi à 6h du matin et il est venu nous chercher à l'entrée de la médina pour nous guider jusqu'au riad. Anikó (9/5): Central, Quiet, and Truly Charming Stay - Riad Maialou is a charming, cozy haven tucked away in an incredibly central location. Just a 2 min walk from the main road near Bab Lakssour: close enough to soak in the vibrant energy of the Medina, yet peaceful and easy to find your way back to after a busy day. Aziz, our host, was an absolute pleasure: warm, helpful, and effortlessly friendly. He made our stay feel relaxed and welcoming from start to finish. Unlike many places in the area, the riad is wonderfully quiet. It features a lovely rooftop terrace with a view of the Koutoubia, and a serene inner courtyard with sound of birds, orange trees, and a small fountain which create a truly calming atmosphere. Our double room was beautifully designed, just like the rest of the riad’s tasteful style. Our king size bed was extremely comfortable, complete with a warm, thick duvet which we appreciated on our chilly night. The walk from the main street is a little winding and might feel slightly uncertain at first, but don’t let that put you off. The riad is absolutely worth it, and the area is both safe and peaceful. Overall, the pricing is very fair for such a stylish and comfortable stay in a prime location. They also arranged our airport transfer at a better rate than other riads we stayed at, which was a great bonus. I’d happily return in a heartbeat. If I had one suggestion, it would be to consider a non-smoking policy, as smoke can be bothersome for non-smokers in shared spaces.

Nella nostra stanza mancava una abat jour vicino al letto e a fronte della nostra richiesta si è subito prodigato per procurarne una. Colazione, preparata al momento in struttura, buona. Menzione speciale per l’esperienza di coppia del bagno turco della struttura con massaggio di un’ora, effettuato da due massaggiatrici esterne contattate dalla struttura, non incluso nel prezzo di prenotazione, ma veramente rilassante e piacevole, dopo due giorni passati a visitare Marrakesh, ci ha rimesso al mondo.

Breakfast and dinner were absolutely delightful, and the Hammam was a truly relaxing experience. KAORI (10/5): とても良かったです - 迷路のような街の中心部にあり、かなり分かりにくい場所のため、迷っていたところスタッフのAzizさんが迎えに来てくれて、本当に助かりました。外観からは想像できないほど、中は素敵で清潔でした。スイートルームに家族で宿泊したのですが、とても広かったです。 Azizさんは顔を合わせる度に声をかけてくれて、とても親切にしていただきました。2泊の滞在だったのですが、もっと長く滞在したかったです。ありがとうございました。
Taylor (10/5): A beautiful, peaceful riad in the heart of the medina with amazing breakfast and welcoming staff - We had such a lovely stay at Riad Maialou and honestly the best breakfast we had in Morocco. Big shout out to Aziz who was so welcoming and attentive. He greeted us with tea when we arrived after a long drive back from the desert, which was exactly what we needed. Our room was really nice and quiet and the riad itself has great facilities. I also had a massage while we were there and it was so peaceful, the perfect way to relax after a few busy days of travelling. The riad is right in the heart of the medina but once you’re inside it feels really calm and quiet. The location is great too because it’s not far from the main road and this area of the medina stays well lit at night so we always felt safe walking back. Would definitely recommend to friends or anyone visiting Marrakech who wants an affordable, authentic riad experience. Nothing bad.

Emily (7/5): Nice, modern place inside, but sketchy and a bit hard to find from the outside - This is a really nice Riad on the inside, it is beautiful, comfortable, modern, spacious rooms, beautiful courtyard, delicious dinner. This Riad was pretty hard to find and a little sketchy feeling in the alleyways leading to it, the young kid attending the Riad was not trained well or prepared to deal with guests or customer service. He had us fill out all of the guest passport forms (the only time this happened our whole trip), and complained the whole way up the stairs as he helped carry one small carry on piece of luggage. We also scheduled an airport transfer ahead of time and confirmed that multiple times ahead and he acted like we didn't and was confused about everything we communicated with him. Then the shower drain in our room did not work and flooded our entire room. He tried to help mop up the water, but was struggling, so my husband cleaned the whole mess. Overall, this could have been a decent place to stay, but we just didn't have a particularly good experience with the attending staff. Also, if you want dinner there, you have to let them know way ahead of time.

Vanessa (9/5): Ein tolles Riad in gemütlichen Stil! - Die Unterkunft ist wirklich gut gelegen, man ist direkt in der Medina aber auch innerhalb von 5 Minuten an der Bushaltestelle um in alle umliegenden Viertel zu fahren. Die Damen in der Unterkunft waren unfassbar nett und freundlich. Ich würde wieder her kommen. Es war trotz der tollen Lage sehr ruhig.

Nous avons dû sonner et frapper à la porte pendant dix minutes au retour du dîner; le gardien était malheureusement seul et occupé avec d’autres clients à l’intérieur. Pour info, le Riad propose un service taxi pour l’aéroport à 250 MAD, alors que Booking le propose à 140 MAD. Nous avons descendu les escaliers avec les valises dans le noir à 6h30 et n’avons vu personne en quittant les lieux.

Owaincpt (9/5): Excellent choice in the heart of old Medina Marrakesh - We spent hours looking for the right Riad and now having stayed at Riad Maialou, I know this was the best choice! Really excellent location, so quiet. In the heart of the Medina. The "small" room we booked was far bigger than we imagined. Keep in mind there are lots of stairs everywhere in Marrakesh, and this Riad is no exception. Definitely book your arrival airport transfer with the Riad directly. We were met at Arrivals on landing in Marrakesh and guided to the hotel on foot from just outside the Medina gate. You have to walk approx 5min to get to the Riad as no cars are allowed inside. Navigating this if you have never been to Marrakesh would be a nightmare, so we are definitely happy to have had the pre-arrangee transfer. It was also really affordable and we paid at the Riad on arrival. Keep in mind that this is a Riad (Geusthouse) and not a hotel. These buildings are old. Overall, we had a really pleasant stay for our 3 nights and would highly recommend it.
Antonios (8/5): Nice and comfortable riad - Beautiful, renovated room, following tradition, friendly stuff and good breakfast. Nice common areas to hangout Reaching the Riad is quite difficult, not mapped properly, going through dodgy alleys with garbage, not in line with the " premiumness" of the accommodation. As with all riads, you have to climb narrow, short staircases with your luggage, and the room did not offer a fridge.

Mark (9/5): Great place, would highly recommend. - Sala was so friendly and helpful, bringing us tea when we arrived about 8pm. As everyone says about all the riads, and even thought I had made a little map, hard to find when you first arrive. We stayed in their tent on the roof, which was great, much larger than a normal room, bed was very comfortable, shower was excellent. I was worried the "tent" might be a little cold, we were there in early March, but the temperature was perfect and there's an air con/heating unit if needed. It's actually a wooden box, but draped like a tent inside. Very cosy and there is only one small window with shutters and a curtain, so nice and dark in the morning, no waking with the dawn. Close to everything. I think a little map that shows you how to get there from Bab Laksour would be very helpful!

But the staff made up for it and were super supportive. The tent room is nice but slightly awkward if you're with friends as there is no seperation between the bathroom and the beds, just a sheet....

Samuel (6/5): Wouldn’t stay in the medina, wouldn’t visit Morocco again. - Rooms were quaint, staff were very pleasant and helpful. Location of the Riad, had to walk through alleyways with a large bin. Our room on the ground floor was very noisy as it was close to the door and everyone had to ring the bell to get in. Motorbikes in the alleyways constantly, felt very uncomfortable and unsafe walking in the medina.

Any issues was resolved quickly Only on down side is that other tourist don't follow rule quiet night starts at 10pm till 10 am, and are unacceptable loud, after a complain to staff problem was resolved quickly.

Ronald (4/5): Disappointing - The location was good. Our room was a "tent" on the roof, basically a room done up to look like a tent. The lock on the door was flimsy. The set up was fine but really nothing special. The breakfast was okay and again nothing special. We checked out at 11 and left our bags there. When we returned to collect our bags at 2 my wife asked to use a bathroom and the manager said "But you checked out." Left a real bad taste in our mouths.
Bumpo269 (10/5): Beautiful, authentic riad in heart of marrakech - Breakfast plentiful, Sallah was amazing - a credit to the riad - gave us tea and helped sort a taxi, beautiful place . Lots of reviews about being tricky to find or feel unsafe but we just asked when got close. Didn’t feel unsafe, the medina is full of little alleys - once inside the riad it opens into a gorgeous courtyard / orangery ! Nothing - it was all good!

Sandra (9/5): Great Riad - greatest and warm service - The place is very authentic. Is at the heart of the Medina, 5 mins walking to the place Jamaa el Fna, Zoco and main Museums. The best part is the service. It is really a home far of home. Khaled (I hope to have taken well his name) was like a big brother for me. He was very kind, helpful and fun. Breakfasts was awesome and abundant. Rooms were very confortble and big. My parents, husband, child and me were very happy at this place. The location is tricky it has alleys, and dark to walk in the night. We felt unsure to go out at night not for safety but afraid to get lost (probably a nice adventure for adults but not in my case). Anyways we moved easily navigating using google maps. Second day we've learnt the path so we went out confidently. I really advice to get the transportation from/to airport with the hotel.

Cilomar (6/5): Pleasant - The location is great, in the heart of the medina. We were in the "tent" room, which was well equipped. Breakfast was good. There was only one person to assist the guests. He was not very fluent in English, which made communication difficult. At some point I needed to use a phone, but there was none in the property. Finally, at check-out, this same receptionist charged me 550 euros for the taxi rides, instead of 55 euros (he added an extra zero in the credit card machine, and insisted that he was right, as he was "converting" to Moroccan Dirhams. The owner did refund me the extra charge after a few days, but it was an extra big headache that I had to deal with.
Enda (8/5): Very good - Location was amazing, right in the Medina. Room was lovely with a very comfy bed and the shower was excellent. The staff were very welcoming and fussed over our two young boys all the time which was lovely. The breakfast service was slow and haphazard. We had two adults and two children yet they brought out only three of everything so we had to ask for more each morning. It wasn't a very large breakfast and left us hungry for more.
Julian (10/5): Amazing hidden Gem! First Class - Amazing location in the heart of the Medina. Facilities were great and very clean. Riad beautifully decorated. The staff and service were fantastic, nothing was too much trouble. So friendly! We ate breakfast daily and evening meal once and were all fantastic. Very close to the main square and the main points in Marrakesh. Have been to the city numerous times and this is by far my favourite Riad and will be back for sure! First class.
Milen (2/5): Avoid ground floor accommodation - The riad went against their rules by providing dinner to late guests after 11pm, right next to our room on the ground floor. As a result of the noise and chatter, we couldnt sleep until 1am. The riad requires guests to be respectful with the noise after 10pm, and yet they served food after 11pm. Absolutely unacceptable! The coffee at breakfast was served to us after we were almost finished with the food, and after requesting it multiple times.

Colin (8/5): Good stay with small improvements needed. - Excellent location for souks etc. Staff friendly and efficient. Rooms comfortable and basic. Hammam/ Spa afternoon was the highlight! Breakfasts were ok but too much plain cake/ bread. Had to ask for omelette. More variety with eggs ( boiled or scrambled), fruit and cheese would be better than all the cakes/ pancakes/ bread. On our 2nd day all wood was varnished around the riad, including our room inside and out. The vanish smell was strong and not good to breathe in all day and night and the wood/ handles etc were sticky for 2 days. No warning was given and workmen in our room without our permission. This was not good in our opinion. The smell was quite toxic.

Our guests especially loved the breakfast at the riad, which was fresh, delicious, and the perfect start to each day. Overall, they had an amazing experience and were very happy with their stay at Riad Maialou. We highly recommend it! Honestly, our guests had nothing negative to say about their stay at Riad Maialou. Everything was perfect, from the welcoming and helpful staff to the beautifully designed, comfortable rooms and the convenient location near Jemaa el-Fna Square. They couldn’t have asked for a better experience, and we highly recommend this riad for anyone seeking an authentic and relaxing stay in Marrakech.

Theresa (8/5): Yunis was awesome, waking up and walking us to where our taxi was picking us up at 4 am. - Nice rooftop, room was clean and bathroom was nicest out of everywhere we stayed, 7 places. Serene inside. Staff when we checked in didn’t know English but through sign language made up a second bed in our room which was set up for a couple. I really believe it was totally safe but it is at the end of an alley so quiet but also just a little concerning that they answer their door quickly, which they did.
Samantha (10/5): Exceptional - This felt like peace in the middle of the Medina. We had arrived after completing the Toubkal trek and could not have asked for any better. It felt very safe and secure by having an intercom to enter the building. Rooms were comfortable and it was very quiet and clean. The staff went above and beyond for us from being attentive, arranging massages for us and even booking us a taxi and taking us to the taxi with our luggage when we left. I would recommend this place to anybody wanting to stay in Marrakech. It was difficult to find at first but I think that's a given in Marrakech as it is like a maze!
Gemma (9/5): Hidden gem - Perfectly located, hidden jewel of a Riad with a relaxed and friendly vibe. Youness in particular goes out of his way to make sure that all our needs are met. Breakfast was always delicious. We had a lovely stay, thank you for having us :) Room on the bottom floor can be a little awkward when you need the toilet and guests are sat outside, but there is another shared toilet located on the next floor up if needed!
