Guest Reviews
- Gloria (10/5): Magnificent - Amazing views, staff and amenities Loved everything
- Gloria (10/5): -
- Kira (10/5): - We had a fabulous time. The staff was so nice and welcoming and accommodating. The house is beautiful. We will definitely recommend this place and return for stays.
- Anna Grace (10/5): - We had an amazing two nights at Yale Manor, and cannot recommend this place enough.
- Rachel (8/5): - Pros: Nice location, beautiful view of the lake. We had our own fire pit and lounge chairs. Beautiful weather and close distance to the lake. A wagon was provided to help carry luggage and other items. Lovely smelling hand soap in the bathroom.
Cons: We were met by a spider & stink bug inside and clouds of mosquitos when walking outside. There is no ceiling over the bathroom, every noise is echoed. You could hear every poop plop and fart echo. When sitting on the couch, it was like sitting on the floor, very uncomfortable. A cricket decided it loved our yurt in the middle of the night and its beautiful natural noise echoed loudly throughout our yurt for a couple hours in the middle of the night and kept us awake. The bed was very very hard and it made for a sleepless night in combination with the cricket. We woke up exhausted. There was no shampoo or conditioner for the shower.
We ended up only staying 1 out of 2 nights because we were so exhausted and didn't have the necessities to shower. It was too expensive for us, but we wanted to try something new. We have found out that we are not Yurt ppl.
- Judith (10/5): - Enjoyed the yurt a lot. We could have our breakfast mostly outside. Enjoyed the fireplace in the evening. All very comfortable. The breakfast was sufficient for us.
- Kyle (10/5): -
- Debbie (9/5): -
- Bogart (6/5): - Private bathroom was in the hallway
- Travis (9/5): - Had a very nice breakfast!! With plenty of things to do as well loved playing pool with my wife there. The boathouse was very nice as well with plenty of things to do. The host was very accommodating as well . Very much enjoyed our stay!!
- Valerie (7/5): Beautiful place but go out for breakfast. - It was beautiful. Very clean and maintained. Our room was lovely and the bed comfortable. Breakfast is not that special. It was short on offerings with very little extras. 1 kind of fruit, no bread, 2 small pancakes with a few fruit slices for garnish, tiny little egg dish with no toast. It was bed to call it breakfast is not the case. The coffee was dreadful. Someone needs directions.
- Sue (8/5): Owner was very nice and we enjoyed the property. - The facility was beautiful and the rooms were very clean. breakfast was very sparse, I think there were 2 dried up blackberries on our plates and very small amounts of food.
The room had no where to put our suitcases, the only chair in room was very uncomfortable. We did not even stay 2nd day for breakfast.
- Fabian (3/5): Not worth the price. - It is - or rather would be nice if taken care of properly. For me, not worth the price. Rooms aren’t made even if you stay there for 4 nights and ask for it.
And be careful, they do not abide by the policies published on Booking.com: the first night was deducted upon booking (although it said it would be deduced 28 days before arrival) and - worst of all - although I booked with the possibility to cancel free of charge until 28 days before arrival, I was told AFTER I made the booking that they do not allow a cancellation fee of charge (but would always charge cancellation fee of at leastUSD 50).
I cannot recommend Yale Manor and will for sure not go there again.
- Mckay (9/5): Perfect weekend getaway - wish we could’ve stayed longer - We absolutely loved staying here, our hostess was lovely and cooked an incredible breakfast, especially the French toast!! Thank you for making us feel so welcome and we’ll definitely be back.
- Sharon (10/5): The wind howled but we stayed warm! - Stayed in the Keuka yurt on a cold blustery night, however we were toasty warm and happy inside! Air tight walls with comfortable seating, bedding, bathroom, kitchen, large TV!
- Laura (10/5): Excellent Country Bed and Breakfast - At the crossroads of cozy and classic, this country manor (plus amazing yurts) is a well run establishment, totally on brand as a charming country bed and breakfast. Our room was simple, exceptionally clean and comfortable with an excellent adjoining bathroom and shower. Our hosts Katherine and Phil were hospitable and the breakfasts were well prepared with accommodations for our dietary preferences. The other guests were friendly and breakfast was leisurely enjoyed, so much so it was hard to just get on with the day. The Finger Lakes have such beautiful homes, and lakefront properties, and it was so fun to stay here, in one of them. Everyone - hosts, staff, dogs and sweet horse made me feel welcome. Not much - I didn't notice the outlets by the bed until the last day.
- Toni (10/5): The Yurt was so cozy and clean. I love it. It was very spacious but had a great cozy feeling. - It was great we stayed in the Yurt so we had bagels, yogurt, fruit, pastries, milk, juice, cream cheese, cheese, and eggs. We did have to fix our own breakfast but that was fine. We loved everything. WE just got bad weather so it was a bumper. We will hopefully come back.
- Crego (10/5): Exceptional - Breakfast was amazing, beautiful property. We will be back!
- Marjan (8/5): Great place to stay with access to lake - Great host, the breakfast was nice. Thebathroom was super clean.
The house is historical and beautiful.
we enjoyed riding the bicycle and watching the horses. The room was a bit dusty.
- Sarah (10/5): Our stay was wonderful and we will come back again - Wonderful breakfast Floors could have been swept better before our arrival
- Yasmeen (10/5): The perfect home base for exploring the Finger Lakes! - Gorgeous rural property and manor, a few minutes walk to the lakefront with a boathouse, dock and space to eat and enjoy the sunset. Horses to see and bikes to borrow. Cozy library with lots of books and maps of local area. Vegetarian friendly breakfast and lovely guests.
- Cheryl (10/5): Very comfy, accommodating, tasty, interesting, friendly long weekend. Would definitely recommend! Thanks again!! - Friendly staff, good central location, clean, interesting, comfortable, accommodating, great food, nice shower, cool rooms (good a/c), helpful recommendations, very organized and great communication Water is weedy, hard to swim in. Maybe get a paddle boat and/or larger floatation toys to help get you away from weedy shore? Bed was bouncy (moved a lot when other person moved) and a bit too firm.
- Denise (10/5): Exceptional -
- Louise (10/5): Exceptional - Can highly recommend Yale Manor - great location, exceptional facilities and a smashing breakfast. My partner and i loved our stay here - huge shout out to Catherine and Phil and the rest of the team for a hugely enjoyable stay. P.S. - if you do book here be sure to use the lake house facilities. There's a BBQ, inflatables, sunloungers etc - enough for a lazy day's activities
- Coble (10/5): Great time at this wonderful B&B! - Beautiful surroundings, very nice hosts, Katherine very welcoming. Dock on the water soo relaxing. Breakfast great both mornings. Would love to try a yurt next time there 😊 Nada
- FRANK (10/5): - My Yurt was huge. It was clean and very comfortable. Katherine was very easy to work with.
- Lisa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Thomas (10/5): - Hosts and staff were welcoming and engaging. Food was excellent.
- Daley (9/5): Wonderful - Loved visiting. We stayed in the manor mostly because I love B& B breakfasts, and was not disappointed. The Yurts looked amazing as well and were just as comfortable looking as our room.
Our room was the one with a private bath not attached to the room, but that was not an issue. The bath was large, comfortable, and walking three feet down the hall was not a big ask, especially while in the most comfortable robe that was provided.
The location is great for staying and touring the wine trail or any hiking trails. We visited in Nov. so swimming off the dock did not happen, but we did take a walk down and would have really enjoyed the space in the warmer months. There were other guests enjoying the bonfire and we would have joined them if we didn't have dinner plans. All the guests were friendly, mostly because it is a friendly atmosphere. Breakfast was amazing, did I say that already?
Fabulous hosts, and fantastic rooms Wish there was reflective or solar lights near the turn - there was banners for the day that indicated the turn, but at night the turn was a little more difficult to find. We never missed the turn, but it was a concern the first night.
- Sachin (10/5): Yurts are great - Yurts were well appointed and climate controlled
- Jerry (10/5): Exceptional -
- Richard (8/5): - Central Location to places we want to visits on our wine trip. Yurts were fun and interesting. However very warm during mid day. Also they are not very good at keeping sound of other guests down. These are the reasons for 4 out of 5. The property owner Katherine was very help and responsive. Great customer service.
- Wilkinson (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sam (10/5): Quiet, charming, comfortable, and cozy. - The property is a charming manor house that has a wonderful comfortable feel and a lot of charm. The grounds are beautiful, and located just minutes by car from Seneca Falls or Geneva, as well as many wineries, breweries, and a handful of distilleries. Our favorite part was the comfort and quiet of the place, as well as the family style breakfasts. We truly enjoyed talking with other guests over our lovely breakfasts. The owners were very helpful and accommodating as well. And the two dogs are friendly and sweet. I don’t think there was anything we did not enjoy.
- mary (10/5): - We stayed in one of the yurts and it was very spacious, well equipped, and super clean. The owner Katherine was super friendly and responded quickly to any requests.
- Joseph (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sanjay (10/5): Perfect place to spend a few days in the Finger Lakes region - The breakfast was fantastic as were the views from the boat house.
- Anonymous (10/5): Great room , location and great management staff - Very nice location , clean , very nice stay . We will be back again We were thinking we were in a yurtz but we were in the house. That was mislead by booking.con.
- Curtis (10/5): Exceptional -
- Scott (9/5): Superb -
- Claudia (10/5): Wonderful weekend! - We had a very relaxing and wonderful time at the Manor. The room was comfortable and clean. The breakfasts were delicious. The grounds were beautiful.
- Manuel (10/5): - Very friendly excelente location highly recommend
- Soboliev (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jimae (9/5): Friendly hosts, a beautiful home, and a delicious home-cooked breakfast, loved it! - Beautiful setting, close to the lake and other activities, comfortable outdoor seating and lovely green fields all around. The ONLY complaint is that there was no stopper for the clawfoot tub in the private bathroom across the hall for the Owasco Room which wasn't discovered until already in the bathroom and about to run the bath. Didn't feel like getting redressed just to run downstairs and ask about it so just used the shower instead.
- Bruce (9/5): A very nice experience -
- James (9/5): Super fun! Definitely an experience to try and we plan to again. - Breakfast in the yurt was great. More than enough coffee to make, bagels, cheeses, fresh fruit and pastries. We asked more on the second day and they brought it in a lovely basket the next morning. They had many fans in each yurt and that really helped out. Nice and clean. It was a little warm Friday night and Saturday Morning...but it was 92 out! They had many fans in each yurt and that really helped out.
- Lauren (10/5): It was very welcoming and comfortable. - The place was lovely and Katherine went above and beyond to take care of us.
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marguerite (10/5): Exceptional - The comfort of manor
Congeniality of owners
The hot breakfast entrees- makes finding lunch much less urgent.
- Jeffrey (10/5): - The yurts are very cool and give you a lot of space for the money. The boat house and dock were fantastic- very well set up with lots of extra amenities for you to try. The fire pit was well stocked and the dock was beautiful to sit on and watch the sunset. We very much enjoyed the tranquility of the manor and the view overlooking the lake. Had a great weekend and we enjoyed trying out the yurts for something different and fun.
- Oleg (9/5): Superb - Maybe for someone this family hotel is great, but we really lacked the usual things... There is no TV in the room, and no place to store closes. There's a chest of drawers, but it's for decoration. A pair of trempels on hooks is not what we expected for $ 320 a day.
Anyway, thanks a lot for hospitality! We already explained.
- Michael (10/5): - like everything about his property easy to find, loved the horse around the grounds, safe and quite can see myself and wife back here again some!!
- Hossein (4/5): - Expedia needs to make sure that all its properties are at very least, acceptable. This place was literally like being in a 1960s bad motel. Very shocking at the lack of safety. The room we were given was so small. The bed was squeaky and if it wasn’t for sleeping pills that luckily we found in our bag, there is no way we could sleep with the damn noise. No TV in the room. OLD, OLD furniture. It has no central air. The bathroom was outside our room with no heater. We do travel a lot and we are both so disappointed after spending $550 for two nights to be given such room. The owners were very nice people and it’s hard to write the above comments about their property but unfortunately that’s just the reality. Please the least you can do is to change the bed and the mattress. The pillows felt like they were 100 years old.
- Lyndsey (10/5): - It was our first stay in a yurt and it was really cool. So much more than we expected. Everything was neat and clean. Staff was super responsive and helpful. Area was quiet. We had such a relaxing vacation and are looking forward to going back.
- Sabrina (10/5): cannot wait to go “glamping” again! - Yurts were great! Loved their horses and it is a gorgeous area of wine country
- Chelsea (9/5): Superb -
- Radi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kelly (8/5): We had a great time and the views were beautiful! - The yurt was a fun alternative to a room. It had snacks, detailed instructions, and a cart to help us bring our belongings to and from the parking lot (which wasn’t too far). It was expensive for just two nights.
- Sandra (8/5): Very good - Lack of TV in room.
- Amanda (10/5): - Staying in a yurt was such a unique experience for a weekend getaway. We hope to stay again!
- Jennifer (10/5): Couples weekend - Loved the yurts and access to the lake. Owners are friendly and the property is beautiful.
- Chris (8/5): Very good -
- Karen (10/5): Exceptional - The most remarkable overnight accommodations I have ever experienced. Nothing. I am ruined to stay anywhere else.
- Claire (10/5): this is luxury glamping at its best!!!! - beautiful property with views of the lake. peaceful and quite. the yurt is big with a fully stocked kitchenette. the king bed was super comfy. we loved every thing about it.
- Bill (10/5): Exceptional -
- Daniel (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful, elegant old manor home just spitting distance from Seneca Lake. Great breakfast, thier own boathouse and dock. Hosts could not have been more gracious and helpful. We had to leave
- Nicholas (10/5): - The property was absolutely perfect, clean, and beautiful. The hosts were extremely welcoming and helpful, and the location was perfect. Plenty of amenities and extras to make our stay memorable. Highly recommend!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Stayed in the Yurts. Was pleasantly surprised at how big and comfortable the yurt was. We stayed during a heat wave in July and while it was hot during the day it did cool off at night from the lake breeze and we were able to sleep comfortably. Yurts we’re stocked well with necessities. And was a quick bike ride to Lake Sceneca
- Benita (10/5): - The staff all made us feel like family. The property is lovely and its peaceful here
- James R (10/5): Go glamping! - Yurt glamping for the first time. Beautiful yurt, much larger than typical hotel room, and incredibly comfortable, located in gorgeous setting. Definitely would do again
- Patricia (6/5): - This B&B is advertised as a "Lakefront inn with private beach and free breakfast." It is not lakefront. It is lake view. There is a pier, with a very small plot of beach that you can walk/bike/drive to at the lakefront, but the property itself is not on the lake.
The B&B is in a great location, with easy access to Seneca Falls and Geneva and close to wineries. It is a beautiful area to visit and we really recommend the historical sites in Seneca Falls.
The manor home is lovely, but we were very disappointed with its cleanliness and readiness for guests. Upon entry there is a strong, disturbing sweet smell that we could not place. We couldn't decide if someone had dumped some maple syrup into the carpet, or if was from a more unpleasant source but it was very disconcerting.
Our room was very clean and comfortable. However, the window a/c was pumping out very moist air making things damp and there was a pretty large hole in the wall that had not been repaired.
The common areas outdoors were simply not ready for guests. There are chairs on the dock at the lake but they were covered in spider webs and cobwebs and had not been cleaned or readied for use (on June 1, hardly out of season). Similarly, the porch seating had not been cleaned and was not ready for use. There are also no spa services available despite the listing.
The dining room is lovely, and the breakfast service was very nice. The owner is very personable. We wanted to like it far more than we did.
- Sneha (10/5): - Had a great time! The staff was super friendly and the place was very close to many wineries. Would recommend to others
- Francesca (10/5): - Loved the setting, the history, the proximity to everything, and the yurts!
- Michele (10/5): Great stay! - Great place to stay! A very fun, unusual experience staying in the yurt. The property is very well-maintained, beautiful views and lots of outdoor space to enjoy. We loved everything about this property, and would return. The only opportunity I would say it would be to have local TV stations, for weather and news
- Valerie (10/5): Unique & very comfortable yurt in the Finger Lakes - Yale Manor yurts are wonderful. Great unique place to stay at beautiful Seneca Lake in the Finger Lakes area. Contactless check in & out and self-contained yurt made it easy to be safe to travel during Covid. Katherine & Phil were amazing hosts & provide all the personal, thoughtful amenities to make the yurt cozy & comfortable. Thank you for a wonderful experience.
- Albert (10/5): Top notch, don’t miss Watkins Glen! - Beautiful convenient location. View of the lake as well of the sunset. Able to sit outside, enjoy glass of wine and chill. Great breakfasts in a beautiful dining room. Enjoyed speaking with the other guests.
- Vladimir (10/5): Great stay at the lakes - Great location, awesome accommodations. Classic, old fashioned, personable hospitality and then there was THE Breakfast....!!!! Would most definitely come back next time around and will recommend to all our friends and family.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - My wife and i stayed there at the Manor in June(celebrating both of our Bday there). If to say in a few words it was just all Perfect, Excellent and vey very cozy! We will be back!
As soon i have booked the room, the next day Kathryn (one of the owners and caretaker) called us and let us know all the details of our stay beforehand, so to find out if all they offer be up to our expectations. This house is old and has a lot of the history behind, but that is what was so great about it and it is being kept and maintained very well will all the great and original furniture inside and its facilitates. Every morning you will be greeted in the dining room with a very delicious breakfast ready (prepared by a very nice lady-chef Michelle. The room, the bed and beddings and so it the bathroom spotless clean, like in your own house.
The house is 3 min walking distance from the lake where they have their own pier with boat house that has everything you need to enjoy it there. There is a grill right there in case you would like to grill something and have a little party, a fire pit and few tables, plus little fridge inside etc. All that prepared to be used by their guests. Seating on that pier with a bottle of local wine and watching sunset was priceless.
So if you need a total recharge, quite stay for a few days and cozy surroundings, this is the place for you.
Phillip and Kathryn, Thanks for your hospitality! We loved it there and coming back in September.

- Verified traveler (10/5): - We stayed in the Yurt, and it was fantastic. Every comfort was there, huge bathroom, heaters around, yet you still get the feel of nature. Best part was opening the door and smelling the cool air and seeing the lake in the distance. Their dock is lovely too, about a 10 minute walk down a sweet country road. We took our yogurts and ate them with coffee on the dock. We didn’t have a change to use the fire pit down there but next time. The hosts were lovely, and their dogs were so sweet and would say hello. Location is great as well with lots of breweries and wineries around.
