• Marilyn (7/5): We had an event locally so the property was ideal. - Very welcoming host, clear instructions and clean and tidy unit. Friendly old dog Some of the houses in the street looked rough. I wouldn’t have felt safe walking in the street at night. The property was however down a right of way and felt secure and private.

• Krystal (8/5): Good for an overnight stay - Well set up for checking in and out by ourselves whenever we wanted, which was great. Nicely furnished inside. Not super fancy, but nice. Didn't mind that the only TV was in the bedroom. The bathroom wasn't as nice as the rest of the house, but it was fine. Space was well laid out and had everything we needed for our one-night stay. Parking was good. Liked that it was down a driveway, it felt safer and nice to be away from the street view. We didn't realise it was two units when we booked (plus the main house) - though they were connected by a corner, this wasn't an issue for noise etc. The two units shared a small courtyard. Lovely gardens surrounding the place also made it feel much nicer - though there was an incident with a bug getting inside which is to be expected by gardens, though wasn't great for me I was glad my husband was there to deal with it!!! The windows were left a bit open which was great for helping keep the place cool, but I got a huge fright that there was a large bug in my bag in the morning (cockroach) - which I left open overnight, which in hindsight was silly - and this got in despite me closing up the windows when we checked in. I'm from Wellington and we just don't get cockroaches that big in Welly, so it definitely would have been from around the house rather than travelling up with me and it was the first time i'd opened my bag since travelling up from Wellington so it could only have been in there from being in the unit/house. It's important to note though that this happens, and the property was by no means crawling with them at all - was just unfortunate, and is just the nature of having lovely gardens around the property. A little aircon unit or heat pump for cooling would make it better than windows being a bit open for airflow to discourage bugs being inside, though (and probably really useful in warmer weather)!

• Colsy14 (9/5): Perfect for a night - Immaculately presented unit that was absolutely spotless. Bed was one of the most comfortable I've slept in. Perfect location for an event out west. Google maps sent us to the back fence (it's a back section) so be aware you may need to go back up the road and down the next one! Bathroom isn't as nice as the rest of the unit but it was clean which is the main thing.

Thank you The beds were extremely hard and uncomfortable. The cot bed provided was great with lovely soft mattress. More feedback re second property, group was very loud, late into Friday, Saturday nights, which wasn't the greatest as we worked through the weekend.

The owners are so warm, welcoming & friendly. I would 1000% recommend this to anyone and would definitely stay again myself.

Not sure why people say it was quiet, someone was coughing their guts up at 5.30 am every morning. The walls are paper thin so you hear ev.erything. To be fair it was ok for what it was

• Verified traveler (8/5): Comfortable Stay at Alice House - Stayed in the King Suite at Alice House for 3 nights. 'Open Plan' style main room has king-sized bed, well-equipped kitchen, dining area, tv and a couple of single lounge chairs in one large room. There is a spacious second room with one single bed & a single trundle. Take note that if you book for two people needing two separate beds, you need to let Alice know in your booking requests that you will be using the single bed, as it doesn't come automatically made-up. There is a small hanging rack for clothes, but no drawers or shelves for clothes storage, which is fine for a short-stay, but might be annoying on a longer stay. The bathroom is not overly flash, but is clean and functional. Good shower temp & pressure. Basic bathroom supplies are provided - shampoo, body wash, cake of soap in the shower, pump-pack soap at basin - but are 'standard' sized products which are used from guest to guest, so if you are a bit squeamish about 'sharing', suggest to pack your own.
