Guest Reviews
- Diana (6/5): Older lodge good for quick overnight. - Location close to our destination
Bed was comfortable. Definitely dated.
- Russ (6/5): - Bed was very comfortable. Was clean but needed a little tlc Curtains needed rehung, outside lights needed bulbs,. Just a little tender care
- TERRY (7/5): it was perfect for what we needed - room was clean and simple, perfect a one or two nigt stay. Surrounding areas were left unmaintained, could be a really nice place with some landscaping and trimming.
- Vanessa (5/5): - Location Office was always locked and never saw anyone in the three days. Could not find the ice machine and no complementary coffee as advertised. No replenished toilet paper. We were the only people here at the staying at the motel the 1st night
- STEPHEN (6/5): - The room was clean and we experienced no issues. The room was very dated. The check in process is questionable.
- Griffith (8/5): -
- Tom (6/5): Good value and location - Really close to Nashville shopping and Brown County State Park Somewhat dated
- 19Fabian96 (6/5): -
- Mark (4/5): - No personnel on site
- Judy (10/5): Our 15th Wedding Anniversary was special because of this Quaint Motor Lodge - Clean Inviting and comfortable No complaints
- david (10/5): - Felt like home. Spotlessly clean. Cute decor. Very Nice little place.
- mcintosh (7/5): Perfect place to stay! - Location is about a 3 minute drive into town for shopping. Being outside of town was perfect! The ice machine is locked up at 10 pm
- Cathee (4/5): Simple and convenient - The location was convenient and very quiet. The check in process was simple but odd!! No employees are ever at the office, I had to call a number on the door and check in.the room was clean and simple. Towels and such were provided and bedding was clean. The room smelled good.for the price, we paid $200 for 2 nights, it was okay. A cheap simple room, nothing fancy at all but not bad for the price if you're not picky!!! Bed was comfy, lighting was good and air and heat worked great The room was covered with lady bugs!!! The shower sprayed everywhere but downward when turned on, it was a mess!! Only one roll of toilet paper provided and the man on the phone seemed irritated when I called and requested more. Wifi was sketchy, going in and out.
- Jennifer (8/5): Great place, affordable, would stay again. - Great location and staff. Beds were a bit uncomfortable, although they didn’t seem like it at first. I think being a full size the footboard shouldn’t be there so you have room to stretch out.
- Jessica (10/5): It was wonderful we will be returning - Loved the homey feel
Nice to have a fridge and microwave
Big shower
Comfortable beds Nothing
- Rene (8/5): -
- Wubben (5/5): - close to our outing The lock on the door was not safe and no bars in shower for handicap. Requested King size Bed and had a Full size instead, the front desk door was locked and couldn't see anyone to ask anything to, had sign to say to call number listed to request room, received text that our room key was under door mat and what our room number was.
- Capoccia (10/5): - Exactly what I was looking for in a no-frills, budget hotel. Clean and quiet
- Crystal (7/5): -
- Sutter (1/5): We chose to leave this property due to lack of cleanliness and feeling unsafe. - Nothing - dirty and old The property was dirty. The sheets were dirty. There was zero staff on site and when we returned the entire property was empty. We felt very unsafe in addition to the dirty sheets we left the property.
- Emileigh (7/5): - Property was quiet and peaceful There was no staff on site and my fridge was broken, no solution, partial refund, or anything was over to cover the inconvenience
- Leigh (4/5): DON'T STAY HERE - It was close to town. I wouldn't recommend staying here. They went ahead and charged my card and I hadn't checked in yet. When we did arrive at 4:00 p.m. there was no one in the office. Luckily I caught them before they left. They were in their van getting ready to leave. A man got out of the van and approached me and asked me my name. I told him and he told me we were in room 22 and the key was under the mat. If you wanted ice or needed help there was nobody on premises that I could see. I will never stay here again
- Marie (8/5): It was fine - Location It was no one there when we arrived
- W1707BPhollys (2/5): Unsafe - The place was dirty with dirty sheets. Absolutely no one was on property to question when we returned and it was very unsafe. We felt so uncomfortable with the dirtiness and isolation we left and paid for another place.
- Lindsay (5/5): Never met anyone no other cars there, they put my key under the welcome mat, when I tried to check out I placed the key - Seemed clean enough Too far away to walk to anything in town, no Ubers or trolleys to come
- Heather (6/5): One night stay great price close to town, did what it was meant for. - Convenient Bed was wobbly, shower wasnt the best, shower head could use a good cleaning out. With the key under the mat it was a bit uncomfortable.
- matt (4/5): - Stat somewhere else
- Jerry (10/5): -
- Jason (4/5): - A/C was the only highlight! This place survives solely on being the last resort!! Curtains were broken, toilet wouldn’t flush, an odor of some cleaner I had never smelled permeated everything!! But…. On a 90 degree day, you could hang meat in your room because the a/c was so cold! If you have to, it’s better than sleeping in your car! An EXTENSIVE search showed no signs of bed bugs and it did have a mini fridge!
- Rachel (2/5): - No one was there when we arrived. Had to call to be told the key was under the mat. Was told free coffee in the lobby in the morning only no one was there and it was locked. Had to call to let them know we were checking out to see where to leave the key. Weird place. Outdated furnishings. Do not recommend.
- Chad (6/5): -
- Mike (8/5): -
- Andrea (8/5): - Loved the chairs outside of rooms. It would be nice to have coffee available in the room especially since there isn't a close convenient store.
- John (3/5): Not very good. Room was spartan. Wi-Fi non existent. Bad check in experience. - Price Horrible check in. No one on the premises. Had to call someone
- Jack (2/5): Will never go there, theft budget - We did not stayed, and they refuse to refund, the room stinks and the place don’t feel safe, there was nobody around, no manager. We got there , no one was there, we had spoken to someone on the phone, it was a heavy accent speaking, could not understand , we will not come back, we learned our lesson, not to use online ever again. They are a thief , it was clever process. Took advantage of our money. They made a clever theft.
- Fred (4/5): we will not be back or recommend it to anyone - location was ok room number 31 smelled very musty, shower head was very poor . it had no pressure. The room was not up to standard
- Lenore (6/5): Okay for a one night stay, don’t expect much. - Location, new shower stall, clean Musty, mildew smell upon entering. Having the key under the mat isn’t a very safe way for guests to get their key. Old furnishings need updated
- Jeffrey (2/5): Oh the smell - Upon entering the room smelt musky, a key was left under a mat, very small room and you could tell thing were not taken care of at all.
- Brian (7/5): -
- william (6/5): - The room was clean and very comfortable. There was no staff for the check-in. There was a handwritten note on the locked front door of the office with two numbers to call, assuming that you had a cell phone handy. After dialing the first number with no answer, I got hold of someone at the second number. I was given the room number and told the key would be under the mat in front of the door. Thankfully, I got to the right room because I found out that all of the guests that checked in that day found their key under the mat in front of their door. I also had to call the next day to find out about checking out since the office was locked. After getting into the room, I grabbed the ice container sitting by the bathroom and went looking for the ice machine. Couldn't find it and no one to ask. Also, the hairdryer in the bathroom did not work and the knob to adjust the temperature on the air conditioner was missing. If you want a room for just a place to sleep with zero amenities and a reasonable price, this place might work for you.
- Mary (10/5): - Cute
- Verified traveler (4/5): - I received a text message with my room number and the wi-fi password, with the note that the key to my room was under the mat. This was the only interaction I had with anyone who worked there. The place was fairly dated and had a musty smell. The AC unit was old, and I struggled to find a comfortable temperature. The decor was...interesting! A personal favorite touch was the four-eyed Hamburgler figurine that watched me sleep. I stayed here because Bloomington was full, and this was the closest option- next time I'll drive a little farther.
- Randy (5/5): -
- Jerrica (2/5): It worked for what I needed it for, but I would not stay again. - The air conditioning worked very well. The bed was at least comfortable. It smelled dusty and like urine in my room. There was only a little lamp in the room that actually worked for light. The linen was also smelly and had stains on it.
- Leslie (4/5): - The room smelled very musty and felt very dirty. There was no office service or staff anywhere.
- Korin (6/5): Green Valley lodge stay - Rooms were clean, but a bit outdated. No staff on duty to ask questions or get ice. Area was easy to get in and out of to visit the city of Nashville.
- Pamela (5/5): - Location Tired and definitely need to stop using cheap cleaners it was clean but smelled funny
- Charles (8/5): - I love staying here. Its county an clean. Hard to get ahold of people that take care of property but otherwise good place for the money to stay. If new owners charge price an make stay higher, it won't be worth not paying to stay in brown County at more upscale.
- Tammy L (10/5): Nice & Cozy, very quiet of course, the making of a good weekend - Location, location, location!!! I absolutely love going to the hills of Brown County and getting to the Lodge was a pleasant drive. I did find it humorous that the name was "Green" Valley but the buildings were Yellow 🙂 That the air conditioning hadn't been turned on before we arrived & it was HOT
- Durham (7/5): - It was clean, the bed was comfortable but I payed extra money for an upgraded room and I don't feel like we got that. The toilet was stopped up an d Noone there to fix that. The lights flickered in the room
- Jennifer (6/5): - The location is great
- Nancy (6/5): - Y
- Jamee (5/5): -
- Joe (8/5): Very good -
- Traci (8/5): - We arrived earlier today and when we pulled up to the office there was a note on the door that had a number to call to check in. We did and they told us our key was under the door mat of the room. That’s fine with me! The room is clean. The bathroom was pretty much spotless which is all I need for one night. If you want a clean room and easy access to outside, this is the place for you. It’s about 2 miles from Brown County Park.
- Marie (2/5): - No one was there. The mattress on the bed awful . It buckled when we sat on it. The sheets covering the mattress were stained (brown). And the biggest complaint is that it stunk. The key kept under the doormat, cute, but not real safe if you ask me. There was an electric strip mounted and painted to the wall where the refrigerator, microwave and tv was plugged into. The worst part is I probably won’t get any of my money back because we did not stay there. Went to Quality Inn Friday and stayed at Salt Creek Inn on Saturday.
Sooooo disappointing!!
- pamelacV2239GM (4/5): Poor choice - Outdated, needs new everything! I know you get what you pay for, and this motor lodge was only $132 so I should have known. When I get home, I’ll put everything in the dryer on high before I even wash it! Everything metal was pitted or rusty, shower had film called on doors, I almost feel like sleeping in my car.
- Morgan (10/5): - Easy check in and check out. Parking lot is very open. Quiet place.
- Brandi (1/5): Bad -
- Richard (6/5): - no staff present
- Diana (2/5): - Booked 2 rooms the day before our arrival. No one in the office when we arrived July 4th around 4:00 pm. Not a single car in the parking lot during a holiday weekend should have been a forewarning. Called repeatedly before an extremely rude man finally answered the phone. Said our keys were under the front doormat. Come to find out there was a key under the doormat of every single room. Entered the rooms and the rancid smell of mold was unbearable. Although the bed was made the pillow cases were dirty. How safe is a room when the keys to every room are under the doormat? Pretty obvious why not a single room was occupied during a holiday weekend in a touristy area. Ratings and reviews must be manipulated. Needless to say we left immediately and booked a room elsewhere. Trying to get a full refund.
- Eric (1/5): Bad - Nothing left it was gross
- Belinda (10/5): Exceptional - Simple, clean,peaceful! Easy check-in!
- Key (10/5): Exceptional -
- Elizabeth (8/5): - Close to Nashville music Center. It was clean, no foul smells. Comfortable.
- John (4/5): - The office had open sign but no one there. Door locked. Called and they said the key is under door mat. Really??? Not a safe place
- Ryan (6/5): - It was ok. Very small smelled old
- Southside (8/5): - It was very peaceful and quiet there. It is old, but well kept and clean
- Richard (6/5): - Very clean, first of all. But check in communication was nonexistent and small maintenance issues. Nicely decorated room, clean! but the shower doo would not close. Th chairs outside the room needs to be replaced. Needs management but does not have. ANYBODY TO CHAT WITH ON SITE!! Self-service Motel!!!
- Joseph (1/5): Semi-Abandoned Office Closed.. Only 2 or 3 other cars in the parking lot - We attempted to check in at 3pm on Saturday. No one was on site. . We attempted to check in at 3pm on Saturday. No one was on site. .
- Hedrick (8/5): Very good -
- Kenton (3/5): Poor -
- Molly (5/5): Passable -
- Renee (2/5): - We stayed at this hotel a few years ago. Then it was an older, yet clean and charming roadside motel with delightful staff. This visit was a completely different experience. We stayed for three nights, and not once did we see a staff member. When we arrived to check in we found the office locked, with no directions on what to do or how to check in. We had to call the hotel to tell them we were in the parking lot to check-in…they then told us there was a key under the door mat that would get us into the room: We came and went from the hotel throughout our three days and not once was the office open, nor was there any evidence of a staff member on property. The room smelled so, so musty it was overpowering. The carpet looked like it hadn’t been vacuumed between guests and there were spider webs in the corners of the bathroom, hair in the shower, and soap scum on the sink. The parking lot (including in front of our door) was littered with cigarette butts and garbage. Do yourself a favor and find someplace else to stay.
- Sean (6/5): - There was a hand written paper taped to the front door of office. With a number listed to call for maintenance or check in. A little unusual check in, compared to other hotels or motels.
- John (6/5): - Check in was very strange. When I arrived at the lodge, there was no one there. There was a very faded note on the door with a number to call. In between his heavy accent and the road noise (since I was standing outside) he was difficult to understand. When he found out where I was and my name he told me my room number and said the key was under the mat.
The room was nothing fancy but it was adequate. It was quiet even though there were quite a few people there Saturday night. The price was lower than several other places.
- Stephen (9/5): Superb -
- Kelli (6/5): - Room was dated but very clean and beds were comfortable. There is no in person staff and we had to call and ask how to check in. The representative that answered phone was not very nice and acted aggravated that we called. The check in process is calling to get your room number and then the staff tells you where to find your key. Check out process is similar, no staff to process check out, you leave the key in a designated non-secured location and just leave. We did not care for this process and we didn’t like that we had to call to figure out how to check in and out. It was ok for one night and was last minute so glad it was at least clean, quiet and comfortable.
- Susie (9/5): Superb -
- Mike (8/5): - I really like the way he? has set himself up to. kind of run it like an Airbnb for the check in. Very convenient. and fast. Although he needs to. send emails out or text. to people. that have a reservation. with his phone number on it. And a small explanation of how to check in. Other than that, it was great. Place was very clean. and well kept up.
- Jacob (2/5): - This place is horrible
- Lisa (6/5): Pleasant -
- Ankenbuaer (9/5): Superb - Cute room. Great price. Great location. Quiet. Despite having an ice bucket in the room, found no ice machine or vending machine.
Blow dryer didn't work.
- Melanie (4/5): Disappointed - The location near town was nice. There was a dead fly on the vanity, and a hair on the toilet seat. In the morning, we found no hot water in the shower.
- Davis (10/5): Exceptional - It was fine TV kept freezing couldn't watch anything so annoying
- Alpineannie1 (7/5): Good -
- John (10/5): I think I was the only person staying there that night. - Location was less than 2 minutes drive to Nashville. Very clean and easy to check in.
- Thomas (9/5): Excellent option for not overpaying to stay in that area. - Location, price, clean.
- Aleta (5/5): Passable - They room was comfortable size for price. Looked everywhere for a ice machine. Finally found it when checking out locked up in front office. Placing key under mat at office to check out.
- Sizemore (7/5): Good -
- MICHAEL (2/5): - There is no staff on site. You are on your own. If there is a problem, handle it yourself. There are no amenities. No coffee. No vending machines. There is an ice machine but it's locked in the office and you will probably be charged when you break the windows to get in. You are about a mile out of town, so it is a quick trip to grocery, CVS, or convenience store.
Since NO ONE is around, I did not feel safe. If there's a fire, drunk and rowdy guests, an enterprising thief breaking into everyone's car...handle it yourself.
To be fair, the room was clean. Shower and toilet worked fine. Mini fridge and microwave worked. TV reception was awful. Area was pretty quiet. Bed pillows are FLAT.
There was no local information in room. One would think since the guest would have to go into town to eat, it would be to a business advantage to advertise at the motel. And there's lots of shopping in town. But you have to find out for yourself.
Bottom line. This is an okay place to sleep and use the bathroom. I would strongly recommend going somewhere else. The rest stop on the interstate is a better option.
- Pappy (8/5): Very good - Room clean, beds comfortable. Fan in bathroom was loud. Hated not being able to check in with a live person. NO ICE. NO SERVICE WILL NOT STAY THERE AGAIN.
- Frye (4/5): Disappointing - The blankets had pee stains
- Gail (5/5): Passable - comfortable beds, clean, refrigerator No staff at all had to call on phone to check in..shower door would not close no bath rug for floor so had to use towel and only two. No Microwave No plug ins except for a strip over by tv.
- Shaunacee (1/5): Our birthday getaway was ruined - Check in was a nightmare over the phone. They acted as if no reservation was made. Call was muffled and we couldn't understand any instructions. They just left key under a mat for us which they key chain was broken in peices. The lightbulb in our lamp was missing. Wifi password didn't work. Bedding pillow looked dirty. Clocks were blinking incorrect time. Not enough towels. Toilet over flowed when flushed. We had to go to town to buy our own plunger and extra towels. The room was so small you could barely move past your partner to change rooms. The bed was a full even though we requested a queen Room key chain was broken. 2 homeless individuals were lurking in hotel parking lot for hours. There was no one in the office for help for our entire stay. The only lock that work on the outside entrance door to our room was a chain lock. We ended up leaving and not staying mostly because of the safety reasons and how uncomfortable it was for us. We opted to drive the 2 hrs home rather than pay for another stay in a better safer hotel. This was the worst experience we've ever had.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Meh - Room was clean but old. Sheets smelled of bleach. No handicapped accessible rooms, and the toilet in the bathroom was so low to the ground i needed my husband's help to get up (2 knee replacements). Not a terrible stay, but i wouldnt preferentially stay here again.
- Rhonda (7/5): Good - Clean room and sufficient for an overnight. Would stay again for the price!
- Greathouse (4/5): Very rude front desk manager older - The older man the manager at Green valley Lodge was very very rude to me even though I had a discussion with him I booked through Expedia he charged me again once I got to the motel very disappointed I don't know who I need to turn them into but I didn't deserve to be treated like that I asked for a late check up at 1:00 through Expedia I can do that he told me absolutely not and get out yes something needs to be done
I caught the owner at salt Creek inn and told him about the situation I have heart problems with a disability I didn't deserve the extra anxiety I almost had to call an ambulance my I live in Nashville I need to go back to the Green valley Lodge but I don't want to deal with this old man who treated me terribly
- Abigail (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bridget (10/5): Exceptional -
